Been lurking for weeks but decided I'd better come out onto the mudflats with the following info:

I'll post this on other threads and will try to join and post to the forum too, but I wanted to let people know that there is a rally in the planning stages for Juneau on October 11, prob. at 10 am, on the steps of the Capitol. I think the organizing group is calling it Alaskans Protesting Palin or something like that. Bring signs, mudflats/mudpuppy boots, spouses, kids, friends, neighbors, dogs, whatever. I'll post more details when available. They're trying to keep it under the radar for now, but I figure this is a relatively safe place to start to get out the word. Let's try to circle the Capitol (not that she'll be there to see us, but...)!

I was quite amazed that McInsane brought up again during the debates how excited he was about SP.... I do hope she will stay in the race for a few more weeks.

Shall we reverse the Mudflats campaign now to "Amercia needs you, Sarah?"

For you occasional sign-watchers - you know, the one being "guarded" by Mudflatters and others via video - http://www.ustream.tv/channel/obama-sign-cctv-1 - ,
well the whole thing has made the Wall Street Journal:

McCain's public statement of support for Palin late this week just sounded to sweet to be true. It had to be issued to keep the Palin hoards at bay. I don't think McCain is happy about Palin's fans dominating campaign rallies, because they are not his fans. The jokes about her usurping his place as head of the ticket are probably not sending John into convulsions of laughter.

I don't think John likes Sarah anymore. I think he wants her to go away.

The now established McEdict that this woman should be seen and not heard has gone too far. By now it has surely undermined any claim about Republican support for women's advancement that her addition to the ticket was originally used to make. It completely obliterates any illusion that the "Hilary voters for McCain/Palin" phenomenon is anything more than a Republican hoax.

Women should be seen but not heard.
Repeat after me: Women should be seen but not heard.

This team is off their game-the partnership is on the rocks.

P.S.
Women are being taught a new lesson in gamesmanship.
I wonder how the evangenical women who were honestly looking for Sarah's candicacy to help expand their often restricted roles within their church and culture are taking this. I actually do hope women in those situations find a way to increase their opportunities. I think we all might care to be supportive of their struggles in this regard. Oppression is not healthy.

Also- there is an arguement in this thread abotu what Bush has done federally, and that somehow that explains how an entire state can be taken over by outsiders and manipulated for political purposes. That is a weak argument. We are talking about a simple question of single State's power and authority, being challenged by a partisan outside group that represents a single political party.

Sorry for my framing earlier... I am wondering.... literally, what more is being done?
I have also seen a lot of people stop giving interviews, and retract statements that might have been harmfull to Palin. That has to make me wonder about the protections that are in place for speech.

ecp-

I am trying to think of some states in the lower 48 that would allow their entire system of gov and judicial due process to be taken over by a team from Washington for months. I am having a hard time coming up with many State governments that would lie down for that kind of thing. Signs are all fine and dandy- but how come you folks up North have not hired a team of lawyers and press agents to fight back? How come you have not petitioned your state reps to push for a special session in order to back up your bi partisan subpoenas?

Seems pretty weak to me. Nothing trollish about it. You may not like the observation, or the way in which it is framed, but It is a legitimate question.
