speaking of media…did you hear Rachel saying she would be creating a Rachel Maddow bank? Maybe we could get big buck for an International Mudflats Bank, what say you?
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:51 PM
big bucks, I mean.
December 22nd, 2008 at 6:56 PM
Yay, Shannon! Tell it like it is, girl!
I just saw a great ad for the WA state lottery (too bad it’s for that, but…). It shows a penguin and other flightless birds being taken up by people in hang gliders, giving them an opportunity to fly. I like that optimism, even after reading that depressing email from Representative Doogan reprinted on an earlier comment today. Sheesh.

AKM, Please send a big Congratulations to Shannyn from us Muddies, too. She has put a great face (and voice) forward to the nation from Alaska at a much needed time (and frankly, because of SWWNBN, we were woefully poorly represented).
This time of year, we must count our blessings:
Shannyn & Mark!

yep, pvwindy, can’t help myself.
and a happy holiday back to ya !

OT, but that response from Doogan leaves you kind of speechless, kind of messes with the thought process. Gee, we don’t want to push to hard against SP, because, because, golly, gee, she might be the presidential nominee for 2012. What the hell has that got to do with anything. She’s finished, hooked, and she pals around with the wrong crowd. Damn where’s Walt when you need him.
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:20 PM
PVWindy, I’ll stick up for Doogan. First of all, he’s one of the good guys, so let’s pick our battles. Secondly, he didn’t say she would be HIS candidate, he was referring to the Republican majority. They control the Legislature, and the Dems will get nothing done if they can’t build some working relationships with these guys. I guess he was saying, She isn’t worth the battle, at least, not over this issue, as the Legislature has such limited powers to bear.
That being said, it is still important that the Legislature know we are watching everything they, and SWWNBN are doing. And will continue to call for the “transparency” we have been endlessly promised and miserly given.

Let Sarah keep bumpin’ her gums…….and as far as all the -gates are concerned…..between the law of averages and karma……..it is only a matter of time…….plus people just don’t like her !!!
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:44 PM
OT, sort of, but about media….KO was naming his favorite people of 2008, and SWWNBN got the treatment! LMAOROTF at the edited video takes. He was so thankful for her making his year. And, I’m sure the Alaska Special Olympics was thankful for the multi-thousands of dollar donation he made on behalf of everytime SP told a bold faced lie ($100 everytime).
December 22nd, 2008 at 7:48 PM
Merry Christmas!! This just in….Franklin leads Coleman by 48 votes in the recount. Count 59 Dems in Senate.

I got the same letter from Doogan…well at least he wrote a civil email, but, so far I don’t see anyone but the FRREEC’s recommending her for 2112? WTH are they thinking up there in the House? Are they just going to let her get away with everything unless the feds come in and clean up Alaska? Maybe that is what needs to happen. Maybe Alaskan’s for Truth, need to go over their heads to the Feds to get action and corruptness out of Alaska!!!

Listened! Nice to hear Mark interviewed. BUT, Air America is so full of ads that it was extremely difficult to stay tuned. Ugh!

OT, but for those who are upset about the demise of Snowzilla, you may want to go back to that thread where I posted a different slant on it a little bit ago.

Thank you, AKaurora, and now we know…… the Rest of the Story……G’nite! (inject a Paul Harvey impersonation here).

I did read your comment, and I can certainly understand why the neighbors might be upset with “Snowzilla Guy”, because of his general behavior. But what I didn’t get was why you object to the big snowman, in particular.

IF Palin makes it into the 2012 nomination battle, it will be in spite of the Republican political establishment. Palin underwhelmed conservative thinkers, like Reagan’s speech writer, Peggy Noonan (sp?), and George Will.
However, if SP gets the Repub nomination, it will again galvanize Dems. She scared the c___ out of some people and threw their efforts into overdrive.
Thank you, Sarah, for motivating us to work even harder to get Obama elected.

Palin has once again out done herself. She has connected the dots like never before. Palin accused Barack Obama of “Palin’ around with terrorists” by accusing President-Elect Barack Obama of his ever so slim connection with Bill Ayers. By the way, Ayers was never convicted of anything. Mr. Ayers is an outstanding citizen today and no more a terrorist then Thomas Jefferson was.
Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston will have their child perhaps today or this weekend as I understand. Bristol’s future mother in law is Sherry Johnston who has been arrested and most likely will be convicted of making meth and selling the drug to the fine citizens of Wasilla and surrounding communities.
Since Palin has set her own standard, she is guilty of drug dealing by association. She cannot lie her way out of this one. She has repeatedly said she will accuse Barack of “Pallin’ around with terrorists” again in the future (2012). I guess Palin, it’s all right if you ‘Pall around with drug dealers”. Palin, are you completely mad? What I hate worse then a liar is a hypocrite and a liar like you.
The right wing nut jobs have already equated the so-called “War on Terror” with the so-called “War on Drugs”. So by their own admission, the two are intertwined.
Palin, you have out done yourself this time. Yes, you have motivated us like never before in the history of this great nation. We are ready for your unabridged complete stupidity once again.
The last dot to be connected is Palin’s connection to the fires at her church. I have a question for you Palin. Who are the crank heads you hired to start fires in your church? It wasn’t more than two seconds after the fires that you went on Fixed News to blame liberals and gays for the fires set. Are you completely out of your mind?
Please don’t name the baby Crystal or “Meth”ew.

Good point about Doogan’s response, PVWindy. Frankly, that man needs to grow a set and stop worrying about whether Sarah Palin gets mad. What’s he afraid of her for? It’s not as if she’s actually going to be the GOP nominee in 2012.

DF – it is because of all those ads that I stopped listening to Air America. I realize they need to cover their costs but it just seems like that’s all it’s turning into. Thanks but no thanks. Sorry, Shannyn.

CRFlats: I think the Alaska GOP better reach a hand to the Dems because they are in charge of the white house now. It’s in the best interest of all Alaskans… doesn’t bode well we have racist crap on state computers, it will make it hard to find a hand to reach back..

Blue, I really hate to stick up for the AK legislature, because I really believe they are so broken, the only way to fix the mess is to throw the bums out…and start anew–but we know that is not happening, in any swift fashion, anyway. Given the reality of the situation, we have Dems that I do admire that have had to join the R majority just to get ANYTHING done for their constituents. The R majority is ruthless, and I will not hold it against the Dems for trying as they might to get something for the people who sent them there. Of course, making alliances with the R majority does not mean they deny basic values of standing up against racism and bigotry and I expect they will continue the good fight when they have the chance. We can rejoice in having sent a Dem to DC on behalf of all Alaskans. And to Sen. Lisa’s credit, she has been known to work across the aisle. It will be very interesting to watch her while Mark is there. A whole new dynamic. Still shaking my head that we didn’t get Ethan….but we will have another chance soon.
