Major Resignations in Palin’s Office
Fresh from the “very reliable” section of the rumor mill…
Rumor has it that there have been not one but TWO resignations from the Governor’s office in the last 24 hours.
Kelly Goode, Palin’s Legislative Liaison resigned yesterday, just 10 days before the start of the legislative session. Scratching head. This is pretty big news, and will mean that whoever replaces her will be Palin’s fourth Legislative Liason in a little over two years. Goode has extensive experience in legislative affairs, so maybe a new job offer? Or maybe something else.
Also, Janice Mason, long-time scheduler and executive secretery, submitted her resignation on the same day. Mason is one of those infamous bunch of state employees who were subpoenaed by the Legislature in the Troopergate investigation. And yes, she didn’t show up. And no, there have been no consequences yet.
So that means two members of Palin’s “inner sanctum” have headed for the hills less than two weeks before the start of session. We raise our collective eyebrow, and anxiously await further developments.

I just saw on MSNBC that Palin has criticized the potential Caroline Kennedy nomination for Hilary Clinton’s Senate spot citing that it was all about class.

Well, well, well. The plot thickens. The term “deserting a sinking ship comes to mind”. I have worked as an Executive Assisant for the past 12 years. For an executive, and I do use the term loosely, to go through four people in a liasison position in two years speaks volumes about said Executive’s management style and skill. And it is not good. Will be interesting to see who is next.
The mind boggles with the possibilities. But there is no way two on one day is anything but a calamity for SP.
Just sneaked a look at team sarah’s live chat. They obviously don’t have a clue this is happening. What a bunch of numbnuts.

I just watched that interview before checking in at Mudflats to see if anything exciting happened overnight. I saw the class issue being mentioned while Sarah mispronounced Caroline Kennedy’s first name. (it is pronounced as it looks w/ ‘line’ being the last syllable) Not too classy on Sarah’s part, but she is not the only one to do it, I guess.

TMH – I just saw that, too. It’s awesome to hear her slam Tina Fey, the McCain team and Katie Couric – it’s never her fault, it’s everyone else’s. Also interesting to note that she resents Fey’s remark about “marriage between two unwilling teenagers”. I could sort of understand if she hadn’t paraded them unabashedly every chance she got.
Like someone else here said, they though it would be boring after the election – not with Sarah!

Just from what I’ve seen of SP during the election, I’d say she has a nasty temper when she’s crossed, criticized, or doesn’t get what she wants………NOW.
Maybe with all the negative attention she and her extended family (potential in-laws too) have been getting from the *gotcha media* the only people she has been able to unleash it on has been her staff. And there’s also that little budget matter that’s no doubt got her a little tiffed.
Just a thought but before the election she was pretty much hidden and could do what she wanted And a lot of stuff Alaskans didn’t know popped up. . Now she’s watched very, very carefully.

Sarah seems to be feeling the heat. She is not special, and the world does not revolve around her. She has to take her lumps with the rest of them.
Kennedy makes her mistakes, but let’s face it, she does outclass Sarah. Carolyn has the family name, but has earned whatever success she has. You have to present yourself honestly to the American people if you want to win. If you lie they will find out, and from that point on you are toast. Sarah is well done toast. On to the next candidate please.

Palin is getting closer to that dark, empty theater. The curtain is down, the audience is gone, the spotlight is out.
She will never accept her own delusional nature. Being a narcissist, she will never blame herself, it will be her enemies fault, and her rage will want revenge. I do believe she will become violent in a more personal manner i.e. either she will lose control of her anger and take it out of family, friends, staff ( after interviews fail to assuage her rage ) or she will have someone, Todd or paid person, do the violence for her.
I truly believe this woman is dangerous not only due to her poor management of our state, but also as an individual. When a narcissist has flown as high as Palin in the national spotlight and with a crowd of admirers as delusional as she herself, it just created that same level of rage when she realizes she has not control over those that do not believe her. Her fall will be from a tremendous height and when that big ego pops, it will explode violently. Murder is not out of the question for her. It will be someone who Palin knows has information that will destroy her and if Palin has angered that person enough, Palin will realize she needs to keept that person’s mouth shut at all costs.

Working as the governor’s Legislative Liaison would be a fruitless and frustrating position, I imagine, and I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that her LLs just get burned out quickly. As I understand it, the problem is that the governor doesn’t particularly care to liaise with the Legislature. She doesn’t work the halls and she doesn’t hustle for votes. So trying to be her legislative go-between would probably be a fairly Sisyphean task. I’d chalk it up less to shady dealings and more to good old-fashioned unhappiness, or maybe just a better offer.
I bet SP’s tirades are mind-boggling……..has your insider seen or heard of any “explosions” AKM ??

KP: I’d still have my job and salary, right?

SP: Oh, the Campaign will pay for all of it.

LP: Um … I thought the state had planned to pick up the tab for Kris Perry’s travel, lodging and expenses. She was, after all, doing State business.
CFO: Well, here’s the thing: There was a perfectly competent Lt. Governor, already being paid, sitting around twiddling his thumbs, who could have done that work at essentially no extra expense. If we go on record saying the Alaskan people were paying for this kind of administrative waste, that would be bad for the Governor.
LP: Ah, point well taken. Well, now that you mention it, the McCain campaign has not exactly sent us a bill for the expenses accrued by having Kris Perry along,
CFO: But still, won’t we get into murky waters regarding the Ethics Act if we don’t disclose the monetary value of what one of our State employees received as compensation for her job from an outside source?
LP: Let me put my thinking cap on here … well, I can calculate from market prices what reasonably might have been spent having Kris along. I can go online and find flight costs from Point A to Point B so I can come up with a total estimated cost for Ethics Act purposes.
CFO: How much might that be?
LP: Let me get back to you in tomorrow.

CFO: Well, what did you come up with?
LP: It’s not pretty. Looks like nearly $20,000. Sad really. If I report it, Kris has an IRS tax liability. If I don’t, me and you and who know who else can be found in violation of these Ethics Laws.
CFO: Easy question, who’s the Governor and who’s keeping you employed?
LP: Sarah Palin on both counts.
CFO: So?
LP: Well, I like Kris, it’s not her fault…maybe I could massage the numbers a little …

I can get the number down to around $13,000. That’ll have a little less impact on her personal taxes for 2008.
