womanwithsardinecan,
You have somewhat the same thoughts I did earlier. On Huffington, there is a video of Dana Perino attempting to make jokes at her last press briefing. With the comments about many of the administration leaving early, I made a comment that that leaves more time for the fumigators to come in!!!
I can’t claim to be a big fan of French after he shot his mouth off during the Troopergate investigation. His ill-advised gloating gave Palin ammuntion to claim partisan politics over the investigation. What a moron.
mmboucher Florida,
Many times on McCain’s youtube videos while the campaign was still on, I used to post that his bus was parked on The Road to Nowhere!! They finally wisened up and blocked various people from posting — I was one!!!
el from Saskatchewan,
I had no idea about any funds being asked for for roads or anything else until SMR posted earlier about funds being asked for the pipeline.
To even hear asking for funds for pipeline, I thought from everything I’ve heard Obama say, is that the projects are to be shovel ready to go so that would strike down the pipeline. It’s years away from info I’ve read and heard.
I listened to some of Sarahs speach, someone before her said the governor should not be blamed, she had been working on this all week, then Sarah came on and said, what should she do? Her and her lieutenant gov. could get on a plane and go there. but would it help? They don’t qualifiy for Federal aid, and it should be a federal problem,

Was reading a story on the mainetoday site just a few hours ago; they are facing a similar situation in some parts of that state. But unlike sweet little Sarah Palin, the governor made some sort of declaration and now the aid flows forth.
Sauer, I just looked it up and its formal translation is “evading responsibility”. I wasn’t aware it’s Antipodean. Oops, there I go again – “of Australia and New Zealand”.
Sometimes it’s hard to know which insulting slang to use. But not often.
ya just have to feel bad about Alaska…serpentine sarah is just so out of her element, I am sure she really does not know what to do. UN like Obama if you don’t know it , you make sure some one around you does…she hired only friends..

Did she really call the radio show..and say that. the other night when I actually turned up the volume for Bushs 1.5 minute speech..I figured it was the last one I had to hear..he sounded so much like serpentine sarah…”well I hope Obama is treated better then me” well I can’t control what they say…Yada yada…………pity party
On a thread 2 down, “Alaska in crisis:” Visitor wrote: an email from Walt Monagan dated 7/12/08, after he was fired: A severe warning about these poor people, because of the fishing problem and the bad perdicted weather, they were going to need help. Why didn’t Palin plan for it? Does’s the state of Alaska have a emergency fund for this? If not why not?
The Governor has not done due dilligence toward the people in remote villages.
She knew the problem existed, and just ignored it. The osterich effect.
She does not want to be bothered with this, and does not want to spend money where it will not benefit her. Besides her time is valuable, and she needs to see to her image on the mainland. What good can Alaska due her with only 3 electorial votes. Not enough to bother her pretty little head.

I can’t find his letter, SMR. Did you read it online? Where is it? I don’t have access to the print paper.
While I may or may not agree with AGIA, not all of us can/will work for Big Oil. Some of us are construction workers who would love to go back to work. The bigger the project, the more fun it is to work on. We’re hoping for the Lake Chukachamna Hydro Project to kick-off before we do. Or Pebble Mine. I want to work in the nice, clean, warm assay office. (I’ve never had a nice, clean job in a warm place in my life. Or one that wasn’t life-endangering on a routine basis.)
When is a diaster not a diaster? When is an emergency not an emergency? When the Gov’s office and her appointed committee says it isn’t and they can’t do anything. Good grief. Poor Gov, her hands are tied because she doesn’t have an emergency, it just doesn’t fit her committees definition of an economic downfall. Simply unbelievable, and what rubish.
Why should we give $2o billion to transCanada, wouldn’t that put Canadians to work instead of Ameriicans? Sorry Cananda, but we are the ones in dire need for jobs.

A ship hitting a reef with LNG (liquified natural gas) onboard wouldn’t be another Exxon Valdez. LNG tankers carry the payload in funny-looking tanks that sit on the deck. And we don’t allow single-hulled tankers in Alaskan waters anymore. Not that LNG ships need double hulls, but we don’t because of the Valdez. We’re still shipping a hell of a lot of crude out of the Port of Valdez. We have tractor tugs to escort the tankers now, thanks to Alaskans getting their panties in a wad about such dangerous loads going through such treacherous waters and the risk of a wreck.
You folks out there in the small states and around the world still don’t know how badly the Exxon Valdez oil spill trashed lives in Alaska. Many, many lives. Many divorces, many suicides, lost fisheries that have never recovered, Natives that still hesitate to eat the food at their doorstep in the sea. Loss of livelihood, loss of culture, loss of valued people in our communities. And Exxon Mobil goes on their merry way, making a bajillion bucks a quarter.
Get CRFlats going on the Exxon Valdez disaster one of these days. She lives in one of the most affected communities.
They said that in SWWNBN’s “speech” she mentioned that the villages don’t qualify insofar as the Federal guidelines, then couldn’t name why, or which ones specifically, made them not qualify. I wonder, Who is feeding her the soundbites?
I wish they’d shove them a little further down her gullet….
And here’s Senator’s French & Wielechowski’s letter asking the Pres to please just give a couple billion more to the road system that supports the area:
The French/Wielechowski pieced is nothing more than a stupendous bit of Governor Palin Suckuperry, in my opinion.
As far as I’m concerned, until people quit dying due to the ruts on the Glenn Highway, quit dying on the Seward Highway due to the fact that it’s just 1 lane in each direction in the most dangerous parts, remote Alaskan areas have roads/ferries/bridges/airstrips/? to serve them that allow for better access for travel, food & fuel, there is no call for the projects cited by French & Wielechowski.
Let’s get back to any road improvements that facilitate a gas pipeline when the project actually appears to have merit &/or the probability of being built in the not-so-distant future. Right now the TransCanada pipeline looks like a big boondoggle for TransCanada at taxpayer’s expense. Because let’s get real, folks, as long as Alaska coffers are paying TC $500 million, taxpayers will be picking up the tab by upping the federal money ante. As evidenced by the pathetic letter of French & Wielechowski.
In the interim, let’s talk about federal funding for projects that improve the quality of life — and mean life or death for some — of Alaskans in the short- and long-term. There are more than enough jobs in those projects to meet the needs of Alaskans, and the potential to effect long-term positive change.
I have zero patience with spineless legislators, and I think French has turned in his spine and marched himself to the top of the list.
Just saw the John Stewart tape of his 1/14 blasting of Sarah Palin in a honest and correct criticism of her.
Forever more she will be know to me a
Blamey Whinehouse !
What a hoot!!!!
Minus 10 this am
Oh yeah — sorry to throw that out there last night w/out following up, but didn’t get power back until a couple of hours ago. Had a big storm, winds, rain, etc., people hydroplaning on the Glenn Highway — water in the ruts, don’t you know!!!
Palin said Friday that any suggestion of inaction from her administration is wrong. “Both the lieutenant governor and I have offered to fly out there and see what we can do personally,” she said
She has ‘offered’ to go…. but has not gone (even for a PR photo-op)
Therefore, suggestions of inaction are NOT wrong.
(Is there something “wrong” with Palin?)
Whatever you (us) “bloggers” do…DON’T lose your steam. Keep going, keep spreading the Palin news (mistakes, neglect, greed, crimes), keep educating the confused…bombard your elite media with your facts and opinions…Keep On Keeping On!

I thank you.
We have just over 1 year to fizzle out her political career and SAVE US ALL!

Looks like she’s going to fizzle out her own political career. But I’m happy to help.
After sending some money I thought what else? Above you find the link to my blog and my article for this week, published this morning: Election Blues or Why do I care
and
2nd Link article by my collaborator who is a Truegerman. I think there is something to keep in mind and do before the next elections to avoid further fraud. Might help….
I was a bit scared of taking on a real issue, but then it is not about me, it is about people needing help.
Lance the Boil… GREAT!… thanks. of course, Palin is helping…though I just can’t trust that yet…you know?
———-
The thing about Palin even BEING in politics, to me, is that she lacks the ‘savvy’. Many politicians have been criticized for keeping up with polls too much, but Sarah apparently doesn’t even stick her finger up to see which way the wind is blowing. Big mistake. So, JMO, her ‘screwups’ are just going to get bigger. She desperately needs a ‘no’ man to navigate her through these tricky political waters, but obviously she’s not smart enough to know it.
Well, since we’re all pretty much OT here, I’ll join in with my 2 cents on the comments on ADN articles and others that have appeared here on ‘winners and losers’ and ‘just move, fer chrissakes.’
It always amazes me how willfully ignorant people can be about complex social issues, especially pertaining to disenfranchisement and privilege. White. Male. Privilege. Which at its chest-thumping worst can assert that starving, freezing children are simply ‘losers.’ Survival of the fittest? Yeah, right. You’re not the fittest, Redneck Tough Guy, you were just born on the top of the heap. Exhibit A: GWBush. And let’s not even start on the so-called Christians, including SP, for whom compassion is a foreign concept and who wouldn’t know Jesus if he pulled up behind them at the gas station.
Thank you to all the current and former Alaska folk (even you dang pipeline carpetbaggers) on this blog who have contributed to our understanding of the situation in the remote villages.
Unfortunately for SP, there are numerous articles out there that say that people have been trying to pin her down on the village crises for ages.
Should any viable media outlet attempt to research the matter in-depth (and by viable I do NOT mean the spineless suck-ups at ADN who have rendered themselves irrelevant), they will find articles that prove that Walt Monegan was attempting to address some of the crime issues in rural AK before she cut him off at the knees, that Begich & Comeau (the superintendent of the Anchorage School District) attempted on more than one occasion to meet w/her to discuss issues affecting Anchorage that came about because of the rural problems and instead were met with silence, rural energy costs & shortage of fuel have long been a problem, and the early freeze in October was well-documented and happened, uh, in October, and that the Natives have long had problems with her (game board w/out native representation, followed by Ronda McBride’s resignation and no person to replace her)!
Our inept Governor with delusions of grandeur has long been out of touch with all of her constituents (except those whose pockets she has been working on filling). That was the pattern in Wasilla, and she has now spread it to the rest of the State.
This state is in serious trouble, and will continue to be so until she is GONE GONE GONE.
Lower 48 in san diego burbs. reminds me of bush and his cronies creating the bogus “crisis” in electricity leading to exorbitant electricity costs benefiting corporate Texas, inclding Enron. Years ago i traveled through N and S Dakota and was apalled at attitudes and treatment of Natives. In US this equals shame of slavery and the continuing treatment of Afro-americans, undocumented workers from Mexico and Central “america”, and Natives. I financially, too also, am suffering however contribute to SPLC, Pine Ridge Natives, and local organizations aiding our huge chicano community. compassionate conservatism alias for unbounded greed and war on working class and those without work. my boys sold aluminum to aid your villagers. burning sage now
How is everyone doing?

Welcome back, Let’sGetReal. We’re all sitting around in our pajamas, rustling up food for Rural Alaskans and being sorely pi$$ed that Miss Sarah’s sitting around looking for the next press op, while her Native constituents freeze and starve.
Alaska has signed on with Trans-Canada (TC) for a $26-billion pipeline proposal, and has seemingly committed for $500-million in start-up money.
I’m presuming that those funds will be for planning, design, approvals and other preconstruction costs. TC’s head office is in Canada, so they’ll likely try to earn as much of that $500-million as possible by using Canadian personnel (especially now that the US dollar is 20-per-cent higher). However, it’s very doubtful that Alaska has paid TC much money to date, and it’s doubtful that AK will be pressuring TC to rush ahead, especially with oil where it is (Canada’s Tar Sands projects are floundering, as they need a much-higher oil price–$100 a barrel?–to be viable).
Actual pipeline construction in AK will be carried out by American crews and contractors, and the Canadian section will be done by Canadian firms and employees…but it’ll likely be our grandchildren who do it.
TransCanada’s Alaska pipeline project wins approval by state Senate
By THE CANADIAN PRESS
2008-08-01 21:55:00
‘…TransCanada said it will now move forward with project development, which will include engineering, environmental reviews, aboriginal relations and commercial work to conclude an initial binding open season by July 2010.
TransCanada is targeting to have the pipeline in service by September 2018…”
Where has Blamey Whinehouse been? I would suggest that she has been busy boning up for her interview on Fox next week. She may be looking at the NYTimes, WAPO, Time, Newsweek, etc so that she can list the newspapers she reads. Might even be boning up on Supreme Court decisions that she would question. In fact, Glenn Beck probably has already given her all the questions he will ask so that she will sound oh so brilliant and ready to lead. She hasn’t got time for some little village in western Alaska when she must get ready to lead our nation in 2012. Oh the heaven burden our potential leader must carry. And she can not get any respect from you Mudcats! (Her tears are staining her newest outfit.)
Lsearned of all these wonderful Alaska sites through Huff Post. Confess my knowledge of Native Alaskans is extremely limited. suggestions for web education or books? I sggest The Great Deluge , Brinkley,Davis for a thorough Katrina education.Meant to say in my 1st post that Bush tax reate stimulus paid for 1 mo increase in my electric when they punished blue state CA. As National Geo scrambles to trace history of man through genetics to ignore Native villagers is a sin. The hatred spewing from “let then starve or move” contingent equals arab/jew rhetoric and palin KK campaign rallies. Serenity prayer and AA get me through. Higher Power bless all and your fantastic bloggers spreading the plight. Where is Maddow and MSM, let alone palin?
@Lokidog (10:51:20) : And All….about Alaska reading info. There is a thread on the Mudflats Forum under Alaska Lodge called Alaska Reading…it has just started, but we can all add to it. I mentioned a book just published this last month called “50 Miles from Tomorrow” by Willie Iggiiuruk Hensley. A memoir of living near Kotzebue as a child and growing up to be a Native leader. I will add more to the list today. Alaska is a very big place, though our population is small, and quite fascinating. I would also recommend Title Wave Books in Anchorage for used and new books. They are on line at: Wavebooks.com
Is there an update on the trip Dennis Zaki took! I was amazed at the bloggers being able to assist in a matter of only 3 hours. It is still hard to know if this issue will be covered in MSM. However, Let us hope that a record will be kept about how SP took action, because at this point, she did NOTHING! I called up to her office and got an answering machine. I emailed her on issues, NOTHING was ever returned. So, although she tells her puppets up there at ADN, what she wants the voters in Alaska to know, how can we get the “truth” out there. Is there a way the progressive Alaska people can get a newspaper that prints both sides, or gives a more honest represenation of the facts? Just wondering.
madmatriarch…love the Blamey Whinehouse. I shot an email to Glenn (embarrassed) advising him of the questions he really should be asking the Queen of the Tundra…because it just makes me so mad when these guys fumble over each other trying to interview her, and overlook the hard facts. ie: devastation in rural Alaska.
Lance the Boil…”but Sarah apparently doesn’t even stick her finger up to see which way the wind is blowing” HA I’m still trying to convince myself that that’s a good thing. Plus, you can’t teach “savvy”… lucky for us.
CR-thanks for the guidance , sincerely welcome. In the deluded thought processes of many of us (excluding the criminal element) I used to dream of The Last Frontier as an alternative to coping with the chaos in CA where I relocated from rural Illinos in 1992 until I talked with a hooker , who earned a fortune working the pipeline and a fellow psych rn who relocated here recently. In the monn. oct letter warning of the desperate increase in crime hitting the Native distressed villagers I was reminded of the “criminals” exported by the English to Australia for such crimes as stealing clothing or minor amts of food. Mans inhumanity to man, alive and well today in all the us incuding Alaska! We must continue to fight united for human dignity. with you all
CR Flats (and all you others in your “wllies”. I confess to computer illiteracy, hence my sons insisting on an Apple for “the mom”. Can you help with ver simle instructions to guide me to Alaska Reader, please. Also CR can you educate me on translation of CR Flats. Am so proud , after campainig for “Yes we Can”, with blind faith that those simle words are actuality vs empty slogan, I am pleased to be a small pat of joining your wonderful faith, and efforts, to fight for freezing/starving Natives. Drivin through Missippi, the rare plantation manor still stands, with the imporverished Back village close by. Boy AKM, I was way way off on my amount!! The road I saw on TV, was a waste without a bridge.
They finally wisened up and blocked various people from posting — I was one!!!
thanks AKM..the memory is getting old.
Canadian Neighbour (19:20:19)
That was a good line, I hope it continues as far as Palin is concerned.
Will the roads that they are asking for money now – for pipeline project- go anywhere if the pipeline is not built?
duck shoving… is that a local phrase?
el from Saskatchewan,
I had no idea about any funds being asked for for roads or anything else until SMR posted earlier about funds being asked for the pipeline.

They don’t qualifiy for Federal aid, and it should be a federal problem,
_________________________
I sell real estate…I like cows..i can write a will..I can talk on a talk behind a camera so I can be a PR person.
——————————————-
Did she really call the radio show..and say that. the other night when I actually turned up the volume for Bushs 1.5 minute speech..I figured it was the last one I had to hear..he sounded so much like serpentine sarah…”well I hope Obama is treated better then me” well I can’t control what they say…Yada yada…………pity party
Poor CC is going to be so disappointed that the quetion of ethics didn’t even look like rearing its head.
NOR the question
On a thread 2 down, “Alaska in crisis:” Visitor wrote: an email from Walt Monagan dated 7/12/08, after he was fired: A severe warning about these poor people, because of the fishing problem and the bad perdicted weather, they were going to need help. Why didn’t Palin plan for it? Does’s the state of Alaska have a emergency fund for this? If not why not?
The Governor has not done due dilligence toward the people in remote villages.
Not enough to bother her pretty little head.
She knew the problem existed, and just ignored it. The osterich effect.
She does not want to be bothered with this, and does not want to spend money where it will not benefit her. Besides her time is valuable, and she needs to see to her image on the mainland. What good can Alaska due her with only 3 electorial votes.
KUDO site says Rachael Maddow on from 9 pm to midnight – I just tuned in late) and she is not on now. Did anyone hear it?
Lori, I have her on right now.

Did you guys see this? Another update. http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/657452.html
As far as I am concerned, unless SP can prove she donated any money, she still is all talk and no action.

THIS IS WHAT SARAH Palin was busy doing these last weeks….. And it is on record.
Take care
@SMR(18:05:11) :
Can I just say BLECH re: Hollis French? Didn’t catch the show, but did see his drivel-ridden, vomit-inducing editorial/letter in ADN asking President Obama to please give $20 billion to AK to fund SP’s TransCanada-related road projects. He is now on my spit list.
—

As usual, I digress…
They said that in SWWNBN’s “speech” she mentioned that the villages don’t qualify insofar as the Federal guidelines, then couldn’t name why, or which ones specifically, made them not qualify. I wonder, Who is feeding her the soundbites?
I wish they’d shove them a little further down her gullet….
She speaks (or ‘duck shoves’) (thanks, Aussie Blue Sky, love that expression).
http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/657452.html
Here’s the ADN article talking about TransCanada asking for more than the already-received $20 billion in federally-guaranteed loans:
http://www.adn.com/opinion/story/634772.html
And here’s Senator’s French & Wielechowski’s letter asking the Pres to please just give a couple billion more to the road system that supports the area:
http://www.adn.com/opinion/story/634772.html
From the ADN article “on village woes.”

Oh, meant to add, Bless Your Heart, Sarah, you go, girl.
It’s been a while since I have been on here.
How is everyone doing?
SMR, You are the best. Keep beating the drum.

Welcome back, Let’sGetReal. We’re all sitting around in our pajamas, rustling up food for Rural Alaskans and being sorely pi$$ed that Miss Sarah’s sitting around looking for the next press op, while her Native constituents freeze and starve.
Trans-Canada pipeline.
Here’s a news release announcing the deal.

Fine, Thank you! Busy with school here.
