Money? We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Money.
The Federal economic stimulus package which will make hundreds of billions of dollars available to states for critical infrastructure projects, has asked governors across the land to submit a list of eligible projects in their home states. Palin’s list? It’s short. Four projects that support the mythological gas pipeline, and one for the Kodiak missile launch facility. The price tag? $140 million.
There is, of course, much more money available for Alaska, but the Governor doesn’t want it. Nope. She says we need to be “mindful of the effect of the stimulus package on the national debt.” Allow me to translate for you who don’t speak Palinese. What the good governor means is that she “needs to be mindful to look like a fiscal conservative for all the people who she wants to donate to her PAC and support her presidential bid in 2012.”
And so infrastructure projects, alternative energy for rural communities, deferred maintenance on schools and universities, all get sold down the river. Everybody wave good-bye!
What say our elected officials in Juneau?
With the recession starting to be felt around the state, Senate Majority Leader Johnny Ellis, D-Anchorage, said local officials were wondering whether enough money would be coming to support the economy. “There’s some nervousness or concern or wonder out there among community leaders if Alaska is going to sell itself short or get its fair share,” he said.
What about the other side of the aisle?
Sen. President Gary Stevens, R-Kodiak, said the Senate was seeking a “broader reach” for the stimulus that Palin was initially seeking, but that top Senate and House leaders would meet with her today to discuss the stimulus, among other topics. “We are working with the governor hand in hand to deal with this,” he said.
How does Stevens define “broader reach”? He thinks our fair share is closer to $1.2-1.3 billion. With a “b”.
The “are you kidding me?” sentiment appears to be widespread, with many legislators weighing in, mystified at Palin’s shunning of funds that are rightfully ours according to the federal government, and desperately needed according to many Alaskans, including Alaska mayors.
“I’m snufth glubble wonshoothd about whof dah zekuthrph zat?” said House Majority Leader Rep. Kyle Johansen, R-Ketchikan.
I’m sorry Rep. Johansen, you’re going to have to speak up! We can’t hear you from under the bus!
“I’m still a little confused about where the executive branch is at!” Ah, that’s better. We hear you now. Yes, we all are. But then again, Gov. Palin hasn’t been talking much about this to you speed bumps legislators, has she? She’s too busy defining every legitimate spending project in the state as an “earmark” so she can tell all her supporters who don’t live here how much money she turned down from that spendy-type “Democrat president.” You know, the terrorist sympathizer? That one.

The JE always has good posters, 99.9% Palin haters. I feel so a home there.
Looks like Alaska will suffer for Palins abition. She’s planning her trail talk. I said to Exxon, drill, baby, drill. And I told Obama no to that bailout money. How will that 50% wind/water energy get piad for. Sorry Alaska, I’ve gotta add $10. a barrel oil to my wish list. It’s for the good of the country as a whole.
Of course she puts in for four projects all having to do with the same thing,the pipeline. Don’t they need any sewer project money or road money? maybe school money?Boy what a piece of work this woman is!
Hopefully Begich and Murkowski will come through for Alaska, since Designs-on-Bigger-Things doesn’t care. Is she still sticking to the $70 a barrel oil price?
Sounds like the AK Republicans need to smack her hands, or up the side of the head, instead of working hand in hand…
Perhaps she is channeling Nero, fiddling while Rome burned…
Good grief…is there no end to “this is all about me!”…”and lookie lower 48 how wonderful I am to cut earmark funding to our state”…
I’m sorry, but earmarks are not ALL bad. Some are so necessary to the fundamental workings of important programs FOR THE PEOPLE! They pay taxes.. too, also.. and some should be returned to the state!
She just doesn’t get anything – except a CLEAR UNDERSTANDING of what that little red light on the camera is for! Meh…
Schools- who cares, my kids all drop out.
Roads – Who cares, we’re moving soon anyway.
Water and Sewer- Who cares, WE already have that and will in our new house in Alexandira, too.
Wind power for rural Alaska -Who care. Is there a rural Alaska. Oh, yeah the natives. Blah.
the comments section of the empire article is brutal. Gave me a headache.
They were brutal today. One can hope the supporters are the seven she has in Alaska. Do people really still love her there. Think she could actually win a second term if she ran?
So THE BRIDGE 2 NOWHERE Superstar, is saying no?
Trying 2 lookgood for the unknowing in the L48…is she serious…
Looks like the State of AK has been ran over by the ‘SarahPackOfLies’ bus!
The reason Palin doesn’t support more funds for Alaska (while everybody else gets theirs) is because she’s as smart as a Spruce Hen. Sometimes I wonder if we’d be better off if a Spruce Hen ran our government– at least Spruce Hens are not vindictive and delusional– they’re just dumb.
Today, when they asked Palin about her multi-million dollar book deal (where she’d stuff her pockets and we’d get nothing) she said she’d do a book deal that’s “good for Alaska.” Translation– as far as she’s concerned, “good for Alaska” means promoting and enriching herself at our expense– her personal ambition dictates her actions as governor. She’s not serving Alaska. She’s just abusing her oath of office for personal gain.
It would be good for Alaska if Palin just did her damned job and went to work.
…SP try the hands on
NOT
the hands lining pocket approach…
I’llbe here all night folks with my big pack of SP comedy
Sad to report…….SP does not give a shit about AK. and the current issues affecting the citizens. The self-serving bitch is using the state and its people as a stepping stone for her delusional “bigger picture”. May the hounds of hell be unleashed upon her soon……..
Who asked her? Was it newspaper, TV? I’d love to watch/read it.

I agree- please pass the aspirin. Some are living in an alternate universe, insisting that Alaska will be better off with very little money. I wonder which section of any highway they will chose to personally repair.
Palin’s political action committee also could be used to offset the costs of attending the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington at the end of February. Palin is tentatively scheduled to speak at the annual conservative gathering.
“She came onto the national scene, and there’s still a great deal of appetite in the political world to have her be a part of that,” Pryor said. “Her family and Alaska come first. After that, if there’s extra time, I think she still wants to be involved and will look at the PAC as a way to fuel [that kind of] political activity.”
Pryor said that Palin wants there to be a “bright line” between her duties as governor and her political activity. Some critics, including Alaska political activist Andree McLeod, have complained that Palin blurred those during her bid for vice-president.
“I said thanks…but no thanks.. to the Federal economic stimulus package”.
So Palin is running;
1. As a ‘let them eat moose’ fiscal conservative
2. Strong on military spending (watch the fly-overs, Putin)
3. Energy expert-with the mythological gas pipe line
But where’s the beef? If she forgets about bringing home the bacon (ala Ted Stevens) she wont be running as the ‘wildly popular’ Governor.
During the ‘08 election the fact that she was ‘wildly popular’ was used at every turn to counter her inexperience, ignorance and general brainlessness.
So good luck. (Not really!)

question and answer in this article:
There’s been some reports you are getting a book deal, whether it be $11 million, $4 million?
“I heard that! I can’t wait to see that! No, I haven’t seen that. If there were an opportunity in the future to, again, do something to promote Alaska, I will do it. But I will only do it if it’s in Alaska’s best interest and it doesn’t harm my family.”

Looks like Alaska will be in the Lame duck period for the next two years
The conference is $750. (includes banquet).
If you go for their other conference -for bloggers and students, Joe the Plumber will be there. Ironically, their little gig plays on Pajama TV. Haha!
“…But I will only do it if it’s in Alaska’s best interest AND it doesn’t harm my family.”
Another SarahPACK with the Devil!
So is she admitting that she can/has harmed her family?
Sorry SarahPack, I just don’t see how your book would NOT harm your family.
Who wants to bet that she’ll DO IT ANYWAYS?
So the PAC will take care of the fly your family around on the state dime.
The refusal to take bailout funds will be her conservative platform.
Her refusal to feed and heat the villages will be her anti welfare platform.
The Exxon drilling will fill her oil platform.
And the funds she took -for gas and bases will cover her, I took it for America ‘national benefit’ excuse.

Even if it’s possible that some kind of “My Fair Palin” scenario unfolds, wherein Kristol and Barnes become Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering, do we believe that Palin is teachable?
If God is making all the decisions, does intellect even matter? Hitchens nailed it I think, and the operative word in his summation is “proud.” Palin doesn’t think she’s dumb. And that’s the real problem.
Fame acts like a drug which enhances the underlying personality. If a person is humble before fame, they become more so after it — if a person is a “religious fanatic and a proud, boastful ignoramus” before fame, expect to see more of the same after it.
What is most telling about Palin, is how she made the decision about the V.P nomination. She apparently accepted it without even blinking.
Most professional women would have taken some time to think over such a momentous job offer. They would at least have discussed it with their spouse. Certainly they would have discussed it with family and trusted friends. Most importantly they would have discussed it with professional peers and mentors.
Palin did none of these things. Her husband appears to hang onto his wife rather as he does to the snowmobiles he races — he’s along for the ride. She does not appear to have any peers or mentors, who surely would have said something along the lines of — “Look Sarah, this is a great opportunity and a real validation of your talent and potential. If you are a candidate now, you will be in 2012 or 2016. Get some more experience, build relationships, groom yourself. For now, concentrate on doing a great job as Governor and look after your young family. Your time will come.”
In other words, if she were teachable, open to the “My Fair Palin” scenario, it would be happening now under wraps and her debut would have been every bit as controlled as Eliza Doolittle’s.
The proposition which CB makes though, is that Eliza Doolittle just decides to turn up at a great society ball, flames out and only then goes off to get the education she needs to make a successful re-entrance into society. Not likely really is it? The whole point of the exercise is that Eliza is supposed to be the real deal, not a manufactured facsimile.
Fame, coming so quickly and having been unearned, is what will undo Palin. She has already alienated the people who picked her for V.P. It won’t be too much longer before she alienates everyone else. The data that CB quotes about conservatives really only reflects a sudden infatuation, not abiding love, trust or respect. Those things have to be earned, and Palin has already demonstrated that she prefers to take reckless shortcuts.
Screw her family, I could care less if they drug themselves into oblivion. Imagine a Palin America:
1) Abstinance only education. No birth control. No abortion. The Palin police will be checking bedrooms randomly for lewd behavior, porn, beastiality and those icky gay people.
2) All negative speech involving whites must be removed from texbooks. You know those heathen natives needed to be saved, and theyâ??re better for it. Plus, what were they doing with the land anyway? A bunch of mumbo jumbo eco crap.
3) Evolution will be outlawed. All science books will be replaced with the great wedge theory -Intelligent Design (e.g. creation science).
4) A National Holiday will be set aside for the Planets 6001 birth day (on Christmas Eve). All Americans (real and otherwise) will be legally required to attend Christmas ever services. (Hanakkah and that weird black holiday are over for good). All servies must be eveangelical where speaking in tongues is performed.
5) The United States will at all times be at war with Jews, Islamics, Hindus or any other heathen peoples of the world. At home, all Jews, Catholics, Pagens and the like will be either converted , banished to witch doctor camp or burned at the stake.
6) Habeus Corpus is suspended (exceptions include me and my friends).
7) All Alaskan not working in oil production will flee the state within 30 days. Drill, baby, drill. Any animals in the way will be shot on sight.
O mudflatters, please don’t assume that Sarah’s pulling the wool over the eyes of us lower-48-ers…
We see that woman for what she is: a rapaciously shameless self-promoter. Fight the good fight, and if AKMUDFLATTER could re-post the address that I could send some money to for those poor folks freezing out in the villages I’d be really happy to get a (small, I’m broke too) money order in the mail, or send a link for a paypal account? I’d like to send some love from sunny Tucson.
There is a link in the sidebar under a graphic of a small child that says “Click Here to Help”. That will bring you to a page with all the info you should need. Thanks!
AKM
She is not going to the Alfaalfa or that Sandwich thing after all, CNN says. Was that wishful thinking or change of plans (they would not invite the kids) or what?
Maybe her name is really Sarah Alaska Palin. When she says she is doing it for Alaska, she ain´t lying.
Blamey Whinehouse in my books.
please, she got caught out & probably got some heat for continuing to abandon her constituency.
I was thinking more about Palin’s book deal– she’s not interested in federal funds, but she says she’d do a book deal:
“If there were an opportunity in the future to, again, do something to promote Alaska, I will do it.”
O.K., Palin, on behalf of all Alaskans, thanks– I guess you’re going to help us (not with revenues from the federal treasury), but from your book sales. Your book sales will promote us!
Whoopiii!
You are such a visionary– right up there with Jay Hammond who envisioned the Permanent Fund Dividend. Now we have the Sarah Palin Alaska Book Royalty Dividend. Cool! When do I get my first check?
Again, Alaska might be better off with a Spruce Hen as governor. (I doubt Spruce Hens are chronic, treacherous liars).
So she’s not going to The Republican National Committee’s 2009 Winter Meeting – themed “Republican For A Reason,” January 28 through Saturday, January 31 ? Was she invited? Do you need to be invited?
Lavender, there is a link at the top of the page called “Village Aid Shopping List” if you want contact numbers/addresses to help. I’m sure they would appreciate any amount you could give. I’m still impressed with the generosity of Mudflatters.
I love Chris Buckley’s comment:
“Fame, coming so quickly and having been unearned, is what will undo Palin.”
Have a CNN link???.
Not going?
A) Realized she had nothing to wear.
B) Realized she wasn’t invited.
C) Bad, bad Willow was playing video games and never finsihed writing moms speech.
thanks libby!
On Chris Cizilla “The Fix” blog on the Washington Post online, he had a post on SarahPac. The comments were about 98% unfavorable toward SP. There was one lady who made very lengthy pro-Palin arguments but they were pretty much indeciperable (near as I can figure, she was pro-Palin cuz she was pro-life and anti-Obama because he is, well, anti-life, I guess). A couple of the other bloggers tried in a polite way to get her to better explain her positions but after a few more of her comments of the gibberish variety, one blogger threw up his hands in frustration and said he couldn’t understand her because she was speaking Palinese. I got such a kick out of that – must be he’s a secret Mudflatter!
Also on MSNBC this afternoon, David Schuster was talking about SarahPac and he had on a reporter from KTUU – I think he said her name was Jill Burke, is that right? He was asking about Palin’s current popularity rating in AK and she said Palin was still very popular in the state. I really couldn’t tell if she was just being circumspect or if she drinks the Kool-Aid. Anybody know?
As a Canadian, I can’t praise Palin enough for looking after the interests of our TransCanada pipeline company, their subcontractors and their employees, which had been facing hard times because the slump in oil prices made our own Oil Sands projects unviable.
A lion’s share of that $140 million would certainly be welcomed by TRP’s shareholders. Unfortunately, most of the work in the near future will be spent on in-Canada design and permitting procedures, so there will be little (if any) left to trickle down to Alaska.
Wonder if Sarah’s still catching up on her 2008 reading? She’s gotta be browsing through her stockpiled magazines, papers, etc. from back in the mid-summer mark, when the oil price was above $120 a barrel. Gonna be a hell of a shock when she soldiers through the pile to the end of the year and finds that the price of crude dropped to below $40.
Will she be able to cope with reading, in her November pile, that Obama won the election/
Hey AustintxNo Gravatar,
You think like I do. What a moron. She has the mentality of “Horrah for me and to hell with you Alaska”. Wow!! Also, I find it hard to believe anyone would send money to the SaraPAC. What a joke!!!!!

Oh, I like D too
http://newsminer.com/weblogs/dermot-cole/2009/jan/28/palins-office-confirms-that-she-plans-to-attend-mysterious-alfalfa-club-gathering/
She’s going. Why? Get ready.
“The Alfalfa dinner, yes, in fact that’s because President Obama is scheduled to be there. And how often will I have an opportunity to have dinner with the president. I will take up that offer to do so,” Palin told reporters this morning outside the governor’s mansion, according to the Anchorage Daily News political blog.
Miz Bella, Jill Burke reports for Channel 2, which is where Bill McAllister and truth squadder Meg Stapleton used to work. She’s probably drunk the Kool-Aid
Also on MSNBC this afternoon some guy – sorry, didn’t catch who he was as I turned in on in the middle of the conversation – was talking about Palin going to the Alfalfa grazing thingy and he said he found it odd that after spending the campaign bashing the Washington elite she would be attending a dinner with the elite of the elite. He said maybe she figures “can’t beat ‘em, so might as well join ‘em”. I hadn’t heard that she wasn’t going to attend – maybe someone got thru her pointy little head that she undoubtedly would not receive a very warm welcome.
Ooops it was ABC . I got confused, but I am not trying to become POTUS.
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory?id=6743664
(This version CORRECTS that Palin does not plan to attend the Alfalfa Club dinner.)
So, going, not going? When will we know for sure?
OK, ignore previous comment. Obviously AKM has other info and I bow to her (always) superior info-gathering skills.
I’m sure President Obama can hardly wait.
HELP, what does it mean?????
And now that she has an Arlington, Virginaia address, wouldn’t she be part of that PAC? If so, does anyone besides her think she’s part of the PAC? When she shows up will they have a PAC attatck?
We don’t need no thought control…
@frozenhead…
I thought New Mexico had the lock on that!…only our system is called the “Patron System”..it’s our good old boy network where our Governor is KING!
@AKM..yeah, I saw that. Apparently, Ms. Palin doesn’t want to pass on an opportunity to take a dinner with the Prez – since supposedly he is to attend. Another photo-op ya know…wink, wink..just sayin’
And, it’s a white tie affair…wonder what she’ll wear…hmmmmm
@Paula Cochran (12:18:50) :
I LIVE in Juneau and refuse, for the most part, to read the comments on articles on the JE website. They’re a bunch of nuts! I agree that with womanwithsardinecan that they give me a headache.
I must say I’ll be a little disappointed if Obama attends a dinner for a club that was founded to honor the birthday of Robert E. Lee.
I mean…wasn’t that guy on the other side of that pesky slave issue thingy?
Pink Floyd!!
I doubt Obama is going just to have a meal with dingdong. Some GOPer, feelin bad she wasn’t invited to the inag, probably invited her out of Christian pity.
This woman self destructs. Why we bother I don’t even know.
Poor Michelle O if Palin is gong to the dinner. The SP rabble rousing in the campaign was the one thing that really upset her. And so it should have, it was inciting violence towards Michelle and her family. Disgusting to see SP merrily talking about having dinner with them.
Robert E Lee was actually a strong opponent of slavery and was asked by Lincoln to command the Union forces. However, he was loyal to Virginia, and when VA seceded, he threw his support behind his state.
She apparently thinks she can corner Obama at the dinner and bend his ear. Yeah, that’ll happen. In her dreams.
She won’t know her table manners….Guaranteed to have a few big slurps there.
While in DC she won’t be taking it lying down ….
“Advocating tough too for an exemption that Alaska needs in terms of timelines for some of these shovel ready projects. Congress is saying the projects involved in the infrastructure aspect of the stimulus package have to be shovel ready, have to get them out the door, whether it be 90 days or 120 days. Well, we’re Alaska and we need an exemption there so that we’re not left out in the cold in terms of some of the projects that will take a northern climate a longer period of time to make sure that we have our projects ready to go.”
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/homepage/story/60938.html
@UK Lady,
That was just politicin’ doncha know? You betcha!
Well, we all know that MO will be gracious as will our President. I figure most will be lookin’ sideways at Ms. Palin for taking up space in a rather nice affair. I’m sure she will look most out of place amongst the guests.
Of couse she’ll wear something excessively bright and super poofy. And the basket of flowers strapped on her somewhere. White trash cinderella.
Thanks for the info, AKaurora, that’s something I never knew, now I’ll have to do some further exploration. Is there a good biography of Lee?
Still don’t want Obama at a dinner honoring a confederate general.
You said it, Goalie
Wonder if Todd will wear his snowmobile suit -since he had to return the RNC one and all. Maybe she’ll pick one up for him at her favorite second hand shop? Remember the 2nd hand suit from My Cousin Vinnie? I can pisture tham now! LOL.
Read the “Political Lincoln: An Encyclopedia.” One of the best books ever written
Or the title is actually “The Political Lincoln.” Great book.
I’m picturing President Obama and Michelle in bed later that night: “That annoying Palin woman kept following me around, yapping nonstop. I finally had to tell her I had another engagement and ran out the door before I could even taste the food.”
Well if Michelle is going to be at the dinner too then she and the prez can come up with a code word to bail him out if Palin corners him.
Did you see John Stewart showing Obamas “Shut the F up face?” I’d say he’ll avoid her, but if faced with her will give her tha.
Goalie in NM – You are right of course, Michelle and Pres O will be gracious, but through gritted teeth. What SP did in the campaign could easily have incited some lunatic to take it upon himself to try and damage the Obama entourage, including the little girls. Personally, I despise the woman for that alone, let alone what a noxious, hypocritical fake she is.
Thanks, Paula, I’ll have to get that at the library.
Although I still have to read “Team of Rivals” which I actually bought many moons ago. It’s in the “To Read” pile. Honest.
Code word to avoid Palin @ Dinner
“Fist bump her face”
@Aussie Blue Sky (14:12:32) :
Yeah, exceptin’ that she’s not askin’ for any money for anythin’ but that gas pipeline thingy, also.
Paula C…don’t say Palin is moving to Alexandria, VA…she is certainly is in the minority here, and way too close for my comfort since I live in the next town over. Virginia is now officially a blue state…2 Dem US Senators, governor, and a shiny new Dem congressman in my district. Hope she wears those super chic pants she donned for the Alaska Gala…she really knows how to get all dolled up.
How many of her Hillbilly crew is she getting her donors to pay for to come to DC? I think her brood totals 7 or 8 now with the magical, invisible grandson.
Anyway, I for one am looking forward to her run in 2012. Let the circus begin! She is waayyy more entertaining than most of the crap on primetime! I just feel bad that Alaskans still have to put up with her incompetency
New post
@UK Lady…I could not have said it better. I actually had nightmares after some of her campaign talks! My husband was saying just last evening…not ONE time did Obama say anything ugly, hateful or spew outrageous lies about her OR McCain and SP trashed him at every opportunity. (Not only trashed, but INVITED violence against the man and his family just by her accusations)
Despise is too soft a word for her; but I can think of none better!
And, I don’t think she will get close to the Prez at that dinner. She most probably will be warned ahead of time to keep her distance…(not that she could sneak up with that huge cloud of perfume following her around!)
MizBella:I think he said her name was Jill Burke, is that right? He was asking about Palin’s current popularity rating in AK and she said Palin was still very popular in the state. I really couldn’t tell if she was just being circumspect or if she drinks the Kool-Aid. Anybody know?

I got a email from her last night and posted here, from the tone of their article about the PAC I don’t think they are very enamored with her. In her email she was professional and pretty impartial. I let it be known to her in my first email, I thought barbie should be impeached not POTUS.
THAT WOMAN! is going to trash Alaska and walk on top of all of you to get to the top of the heap. It’s glaringly obvious she doesn’t give a damn about Alaska, it’s citizens or anyone/anything other than herself and her own damn ambitions .
With her, it’s all me me me me my my my my MINE!
From AKM:“The Alfalfa dinner, yes, in fact that’s because President Obama is scheduled to be there. And how often will I have an opportunity to have dinner with the president. I will take up that offer to do so,” Palin told reporters this morning outside the governor’s mansion, according to the Anchorage Daily News political blog.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone, go to whitehouse.gov and write PO a email how she is going to stuff her face at a $200/plate dinner while villagers starve and freeze and bloggers are making donations and sending food b/c she won’t!!!
I DID THAT LAST NIGHT! FLOOD HIM! MAYBE HE WON’T GO OR MAYBE HE WILL OBVIOUSLY GO OVER HER HEAD TO HELP! MAYBE IF HE STILL GOES SHE WILL TRY TO KISS ASS AND HE WILL SNUB HER FOR BEING SUCH A SHIT TO NEEDY PEOPLE, YOU KNOW HOW HE IS ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE IN NEED!
Sorry to shout but he needs to know.
Also heard today that Citi group that was buying that uber expensive Jet with TARP money….PO called them and said “FIX IT” meaning STOP NOW!!!
I do think he would take to kindly to barbie if he hears about she hasn’t lifted a finger to help the villages.
Oh I hope she wears the same outfit as she wore for the AK statehood event. Paisley gauchos and poofy fur trimmed sweater. Yeah.
And with a corsage too…
Perhaps the time has come when Alaska will wake up and see what a problem they have in their Governor. Are they going to continue to support her as she eviscerates her state in an attempt to fluff up her Republican national image?
Sarah said she would restrict her “political activities” until the Alaska legislature is out of session. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Sarah Palin the FULL TIME Governor of Alaska? Or is she paid her $165,000 a year salary to only be Governor when the legislature is in session?
my fingers are impatiently tapping on my desk…how much longer, Alaska? how much of Palin’s wicked, eccentric, ruthless behavior are you willing to accept? how much more will you take? when is the pain of her Jimmy Choo heel twisting and digging into your throat going to be enough?!? huh?
Once again, ALASKANS ELECTED PALIN. Now you have to deal with it.
Think smart before you vote.
amy, that’s really not very helpful, especially since it has been said about a billion times. They ARE dealing with it.
Hey folks, all of the thinking folks in Alaska realize that the Queen snuck in under their radar. If you don’t know the history of governors in Alaska, that might seem strange. Unless you live in Illinois perhaps. Unfortunately, she has 2 more years in her term, and fixing the problem is not a matter of standing up and saying, “go away, Sarah.” So lighten up and try to be a little more constructive. If you have to pick on state citizens, how about having a go at my state of California, which has been destroyed by Prop 13 and the direct initiative process? The direct initiative was a reform put in place by progressives many years ago but has gone completely haywire.
So please, lay off the good folks of Alaska who ARE trying to fix their mess and go pick on some other state where people voted in idiots and crooks.
well that was pretty folksy, you betcha.
Ok, first off the reason she is still saying she doesn’t want any national bail out money is so she can blame, Obama, his admin, the feds, the MNM, her legis, her admin, every one in the villages, all those that did or didn’t vote for her, and each of us bloggers for whatever she makes up when she needs an excuse and wants another min of air space. Good grief….no msystery there.
I’d bet she isn’t as keen going out of town now, that she knows she may be meet at the gate with protestersand legistators say, “Please don’t leave now, we need you!”
When she first learned about that the Alfa dinner she thought she could show off her alfa nature and get some more press coverage. Along with making Johnny Mac look bad for not inviting and paying for her and the gangs way to the ball Obama gave in his. Now that she knows it’s set up to be a roast for some one that has some need to be eating humble pie, she isn’t sure which fork to use.
Two new threads, BTW.
This is a totally inconsiderate, self promoting, insulting, and infuriating Gov!
How about a starting a contemporary and progressive boat building vocational program Sarah! Fuel efficient vessel for Science, Community Outreach, Solutions for coastal Pollution’s, and coastal transportation in are coastal state Sarah!!!!! I’m sick of More Roads and more Pipelines all the time.
We need to divest into a manufacturing infrastructure that builds a stronger Alaska. One that can reach out to are remote native communities.
Create Jobs, build on are maritime education, hight tech vocational training, CNC manufacturing, build school ships for connecting are remote coastal state, demonstrate renewable energy, bring the poles to the class room with new broadband telepresence communication technology . Science baby Science Baby.
Please Sarah open your eyes to the bigger picture in are great state. You can make so much happen to unify are coastal communities with your power and charm. And what will you do?????????
After the way Palin talked about Obama during the campaign, if I’m the Secret Service, I don’t let her anywhere near the President.
this IS a blog about Alaska, is it not? not CA and Palin IS my business if she slips past the locals
CA? don’t understand your business…
Lainey, it is your implication that people are just sitting around taking Sarah’s crap that made me comment. It is just not true, and constantly poking the people who are doing everything they can is not helping. Use that energy to come up with ideas, not say over and over, why are you guys just sitting there. My example of California is that you can point fingers at ANY state and blame the citizens, but that isn’t constructive. I may live in california but my mother grew up down the road from valley trash land where the Queen came from. My family is from Alaska and many of them still live there. They ARE doing something.
“…and I said thanks, but no thanks to that bridge to nowhere. If we wanted a bridge we’d build it ourselves!”
So, now she wants a road to NOMEwhere. We can’t support our needs as it is and she doesn’t think we need any help. Nope, she wants those Outside to think she’s got it all under control here – we’re Alaskans, we’re tough, we don’t need any outside interference.
Wake me up from this nightmare! We just got rid of the one in the White House and now one has morphed into a being in
Juneau , Anchorage, Wasilla,hmmmm…just where is she?Lainey and amy: and all…….. just remember that you are preaching to the choir. None of us mudpups of Alaska voted for her, and if some did, are totally clued in. We all just need to do what we can by being in touch with our legislators, and whatever we can…. and we will do as our fearless leader (AKM) recommends. Things take time to unfold.
Amy,
You have to understand the makeup of “Alaskans.” Liberals are greatly outnumbered.
So even though she was voted in by Alaskans, the ones on this blog can most likely not be held accountable for that and are dependent upon good folks like you and others Outside (that’s lower 48 to those of you Outside) to spread the truth about what’s happening.
As, so aptly described in an earlier Mudflats blog, we are the Who in Whosville and shouting as loudly as we can….but we are small.
PLEASE HELP US GET THE WORD OUT!!!
Palin issued her list on Jan. 12, saying it would not be a good idea to ask for more, and cautioned it was necessary to be “mindful about the effect of the stimulus package on the national debt.”
What kind of delusional moron has the nerve to say something like this? Such condescension, from this uneducated gimp of a Governor is unbelievable. She doesn’t know her place.
Many companies are looking and saying to themselves, well, looks like I won’t invest in Alaska then. Nothing there.
THAT’s what I’d notify the President about, so when she tries to bend his ear, he can ask her point blank WTF are you talking about….
Does she really think that OBAMA wants to see her. SHe is going there with a chip on her shoulder……, like, build up my energy programs of nothing! Were too proud for federal money. She is trying to look like the hero of the bailout, buy requesting so little money for are state. We will only take this bailout money if it fits are program. Were too good for you Obama. WTF is the B**** thinking.
THis is the a very rare opportunity SP. WE need health care centers, vocational schools, soccer fields, town centers, community compost and recycling centers, low income housing, and renewable energy projects!!!
A road to Nome………., how creative, you really put yourself out on this one. Is this another Iron dog race track for Toddy to conquer ?
frozenhead (12:38:42) : She’s just abusing her oath of office for personal gain.
Hmmm…seems to me there’s another governor who is being impeached for the same thing. Now what was the big buffoon’s name…
the rest of us only have until 2012 before damage can be done…and aren’t your legislators on her payroll? i’m not saying that you’re not concerned or that NOTHING is being done…btw, i’m not the ONLY one. it just seems like everyone up there has been content with her until her national debut when the pressure of outsiders were upon you
AKM – Didn’t I read somewhere on your blog, that those folks in Emmonak have a methane gas field they could develop — that could heat their homes?
Sounds like a worthwhile project to me, and probably not (a) near as costly as the Canadian pipeline — and (b) probably could be done in less time.
No disrespect Canada —
Hopefully Begich and Murkowski will come through for Alaska, since Designs-on-Bigger-Things doesn’t care. Is she still sticking to the $70 a barrel oil price?
Sounds like the AK Republicans need to smack her hands, or up the side of the head, instead of working hand in hand…
A slap upside the head with a concurrent kick to the keister might get her attention. As would a ton of emails and snail mails from the residents of Alaska and the Lower 48.
But like you write, good think you have a Senator who is a member of the majority party in the US Senate. He’s very well positioned to watch the backs of everyday Alaskans. If he does his job well enough, Palin could very well be relegated to the dustbin of history by 2010.
I need to think about the difference between think and thing. …
