Unless Governor Palin dictated her letter to a state employee or or wrote it it on the ‘actual’ Governor’s desk or used a state owned computer to print it (on piece of paper with the state seal) or used a state bought envelope and stamp to send it, then there’s no ethical problem in Mrs. Palin, on her own time with her own money, engaging in ‘partisan politics’ ( did she sign the letter Sarah Palin or Governor Palin?) . And , her newly formed PAC (independent slush fund) inserts a layer of murkiness into all her political actions. It’s the ‘on the state’s time’ and ‘with the state’s dime’ that don’t mix with ‘partisan politics’.

Perry is fluff and no substance. I don’t endorse any Republicans, but Hutchison is much more qualified.

Of course, Kay may have said nasty things about Palin because it was big slap in her face that Palin was chosen as the first female VP over her, and rightly so.

Boy are we missing Molly Ivins – who gave Perry the nickname “Gov. Goodhair” in the first place. Take a look at her essays on Texas politics and the rise of W and Rick Perry in “Who Let the Dogs In” — and let’s hope AKM one day turns the muck of Palin-era Alaska shenanigans into similar trenchant nuggets.

This pompous, disgustingly opportunistic phoney just has no shame, does she? Now she’s endorsing candidates IN OTHER STATES? Why she thinks anyone in Texas gives a rats ring-a-ding who she likes as our governor is a complete mystery. No, not really a mystery… the transparent dishonesty of her endorsement is hardly a mystery….just ANOTHER scheme to keep herself in the news.

I have to wonder, as much as Team Sarah is swooning in their – really, really boring — online chat room, the rest of us are shaking our heads over the joke Palin continues to be. OMG!! she’s cheering for roads to nowhere…no, wait, she’s watching the Superbowl…and hey, there she is…playing Texan… Good grief! The portrait of Palin as a joke will be just as strong in 2010 or 2012 as it is now.

I also, too, also think her endorsement ploy has an even more pathetic aim. I see it an attempt by Palin to preempt a potential rival, namely Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. If Kay defeats Perry in our next governor’s race, she’ll have just as much “executive” experience at the gubornatorial level as Palin had when she was nominated. Plus all those extra years as Senator of a POTUS-producing state. Senator Kay is well-liked, experienced, strong, and classy. I’ll be pulling the lever for her in the primary. For sure!

Palin is not going away. But I thank her for being so OBVIOUS! It makes it easier to laugh at her. My advice to her is this: all those grifter freebies she’s been helping herself to… well, she needs to be sure and pay any taxes due on them.

Palin’s Texas letter stated “and you know how I feel about guns” followed by another paragraph which contained “every life is sacred.” Apparently, some lives must be more sacred than others, and I suppose she will be the judge of that.

Governor Perry is dumpster diving again for endorsements. Not so long ago Perry endorsed Rudy Giuliani (angling to be his VP). I am sure my fellow Texans are really chuckling about Palin’s endorsement…who asked her?
Believe me, we’ve had it with do nothing Perry. I don’t want ole Kay and am hoping Houston’s current mayor, Bill White – Dem, will run and be elected.
Texas is ready for a whopping big change in direction.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think that Mayor White is planning to run for Senate when Kay Bailey steps down.
