The Coldest State With the Warmest Governor.

No, the governor has never released one of her infamous press releases about the crisis in Emmonak and other rural villages, and she has not actually gone to visit any of the places where residents have to choose between food and heat.  No, she has not utilized her worldwide celebrity in the cause of …oh, I don’t know…promoting a food drive for hungry children.

But she has been chatting with Esquire Magazine  and now we have some insight into what she thinks about keeping warm in Alaska:

My favorite place in Alaska is on a cold winter day in my own house, with fat snowflakes falling. In my nice warm home.

Fleece, lots of fleece, and skinny white-chocolate mochas. That’s the best way to stay warm.

Ah!  That’s the best way.  Maybe that’s the problem.  Let’s use some of that stimulus money to put in a few Starbucks on the Y-K Delta.  Hey, kid!  You don’t have a ‘nice warm home?’  Wanna skinny white chocolate mocha?

I hear letting people eat cake keeps them warm too.

I think the large amount of food that’s been collected and now needs to be shipped is a result of Rep. Jay Ramras’s efforts. He’s gotten Lynden Transport and Alaska Airlines to help transport it to Bethel and is now trying to raise $ to help get it shipped out on small air carriers to the villages. SHE did not have anything to do with this.

As a person of faith, I always thought and hoped Sarah would step up and do what is right, a WWJD sort of gal…but disillusionment quickly set in, followed by disappointment…and disgust.

Hopefully, prayerfully, this virtue will spread and more and more great, logical, thinking folks like yourself will come to the same conclusion.
