Rural Alaska – Let Them Eat…..Cookies?

28 02 2009

Yes, we’ve had another “drive by” from flyinureye!  This one was inspired by the fact that when Governor Palin flew to the remote village of Russian Mission, escorted by not one, but two evangelical preachers (Franklin Graham and Jerry Prevo) to bring food aid to local residents, she brought…..homemade cookies, and some advice!

So, a nod to the old saying about a picture being worth 1000 words, and a hat tip to flyinureye!

Women Who Run With The Wolves Says:

Can someone please pass a tissue…? It just breaks my heart when someone so clueless like, “onway or rightway” has no idea what the H*ll they are drooling about. Poor Queen Taliban Gino…she’s soooo misunderstood, always the victim, it’s everone elses fault not mine. So, I don’t understand how to govern Alaska, how can that be my fault. Stop picking on me!

Got news for you rightway…she’s not gonna get relected as gov. Oh H*ll she isn’t even qualified to be the dog catcher in Savoonga….

BahstinBoyo aka Wrangler Tractor Palin Says:

    Dear ‘rightway’…

This is not a ‘hate Sarah’ blog. This is an EXPOSE Sarah (and anyone LIKE her) for what she IS blog! WE didn’t MAKE her this way, she CHOOSES to be this way.

And as far as our country goes, we went down the Bush rat hole for eight years. All Obama can do now is his best to fix that which the Republicans broke. It is COMMON political practice to put the responsibility of the country’s economic condition squarely on the shoulders of the imcumbent. Do you REALLY think for a moment that Sen. McCain would have it any easier right now, had HE been elected? Do you really think the Democrats AS A WHOLE would have voted ‘NO’ to McCains economic recovery plan? Do you REALLY think that the Democrats as a whole would have displayed such a ’sour grapes’ loosers responce? Do you REALLY think for a moment, that come the NEXT House/Senate election cycle, any or all Rebublicans will not be called onto the carpet for thier actions by ‘We The People’?

It seems as though you’ve already had Sarah Palins cookies, and you’ve washed them down with that ’special’ kool-aide!

You are, under the Constitution, allowed to voice your opinion. There are just better venues and blogs for you to be a part of that share your views.

I wonder when big, greasy Rush Limbaugh will start talking up Sarah? I read they did a straw poll and she came in tied for third in the superfreak conservative CPAC. Poor pretty cookie baker…

    wayney Says:

conservatives4palin have the nick tucker video up..
of course there are rants on how “personable” she is.. how she stook her ground with nick not allowing him to change the subject.. yaddah yaddah

but! to “difuse” the focus (probably not wanting people to look too closely and see the part of her physically turning her back on him mid way through his very brave determined trying to be the voice of the people)
they have another video up (for comparison)

of mitt romney .. and his stab at trying to be “up close and personal”

So now it is turning into .. who speaks better one on one with people
    not the real issue

    Lainey Says:

For what it’s worth, I sent the video to Rachel, Chris M, David S, and Meet the Press. I couldn’t find KO contact info. They probably already know of it, but it can’t hurt to try.

And @rightway…yes, that’s who I’ll be wanting for my leader…an ignorant (moronic), self-involved, hypocritical, religious nut & ne’erdowell. yep, you found me out! Drink some more Kool-Aid…I hear it’s delicious and mind-blowing.

  8. 158
    Lainey Says:

oh and rightway must have eaten some of those cookies too…you know, to go with the Kool-Aid

    WakeUpAmerica Says:

Don’t forget that part of Sarah’s solution to the crisis in the rural villages included them getting new leaders. I’m assuming she wants ones who agree with her ideas. I bet she has some high school friends to recommend. What an arrogant remark on her part. T McMahan is absolutely uneducated about all this. He needs to do research beyond SarahPac and TeamSarah. Sheesh. Have a cookie, Tom.

  10. 160
    fawnskin mudpuppy Says:

i think that rachel or ko would love to dispute gino’s claims that todd grew up in the village and made his way back and forth to the fields.
    what a man.

that is one little exaggeration that should be easy to prove.

  11. 161
    Team Alaska Says:

That interview was very humbling. Seeing a graceful elder speak to SP as she tried her best to stone wall his wisdom was enlightenment.

What a resource tramp we have for a governor. That letter was the hand penned letter from higher spirits then SP will every encounter in her churches. That letter brought to light a situation that was clearly predicted about the hard times in western Alaska.

I believe in my heart that you are very wrong Mr. Thomas McMahan. I do want to thank for stating your beliefs, and hopefully you will seek out the truth by reading more in past post about this issue, or many other web sights that dig deeper into the, “Reality behind the Reality of SP’s Political affairs”.

May there be many more enlightened soles that seek spiritual wisdom out side of there church or comfort zone. For the spirit is all around us, and happens to be in great reserve with are dwindling Alaskan Native population.

  12. 162
    marcus2 Says:

You libutards are going to be praying for someone like Sarah to pull this country out of the muck that Obama is putting us in. Who’s cookies will you be eating then? by rightway
    _________________________________________________
Rightway, Sarah couldn’t spell the word “country” if you spotted her most of the letters. So how do you expect her to pull us out of anything? OK, she’s good at wearing Neiman Marcus clothes, shooting moose (hard to miss at 20 feet), and trying to make your neighborhood witch free, but what else?

  13. 163
    WakeUpAmerica Says:

And also, Tom McMahan, were you aware that Franklin Graham pays himself a salary exceeding half a million dollars? Go to:

    http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/14/charities08_Samaritans-Purse_CH0145.html

Then look at the footnote for number 4. It says that figure may not be the salary of the top person, so it is possible that he is receiving even more. Personally, I think it is obscene for anyone heading a charitable organization to pay themselves that much money, don’t you?

  14. 164
    KAREN IN OR Says:

why did you write TROLL ALERT after pasting my previous comment?

    Troll alert.

    _________________________

Yeah, I haven’t posted before but I am NO TROLL. I was incredibly moved by the simplicity and directness of Nicholas Tucker and wanted to bring attention to it so as many as possible would view it. Perhaps you thought I was being facetious because I used WOW. (?) It was brief so I could post quickly, before your link got “buried”; even so, by the time I hit SUBMIT I could see that several others had also noted that piece, so it surely has gotten the attention it deserves from this board. Now, I wish it would get MSM attention along with a documentary on the traditional village way of life.

KAREN IN ORegon and I am NOT a troll (but no glamour queen either!)

    Canadian Neighbour Says:

I see some tainted Koolaid has been passed out along with the cookies, none of which Mudpuppies drink or eat!! Show up at villages with cookies — What do they get — a couple of dozen for each village. That really fills stomachs and holds people over for days.

Oh, I see the first two in line already for some more of the tainted potions.

Reading that transcript is as painful as watching it! GINO makes me sick! She has no respect for Nick and the First peoples, for her it was a photo op!
And to lie and start babbling about dud….
She need to be impeached/fired! Use her salary to help the Villages. She is a useless piece of moose nugget!
My heart feels so bad for Nick and the First peoples….All she can talk about is mining and oil, sure she wants them to leave, then the gov. can come in and take over. She doesn’t fool anyone.
If GOD would only come and strike her down now!!!!

ENOUGH ABOUT SARAH … Let’s talk about Bristol, who appears to have inherited her mother’s sense of humor.

It seems that people wanting to support the efforts of the World Wildlife Fund against Alaska’s hunting and predator control policies have been making donations and directing the fund to send the fuzzy stuffed animals one gets in return to Gov. Palin.

An earwig in a position to actually know something once in a while says Bristol called her mom last week to report three more stuffed wolves had shown up at the house.

Mom wondered (perhaps not sincerely?) what they might send the WWF fans as a thank-you for the stuffed wolves.

Bristol suggested packages of moose meat might be just the thing.
    ********************
Also they have a picture of a moose (Not as cute as Brian!) And this caption:“Because of Sarah’s predator control measures, I died an old man…of lead poisoning.”
Ok, I guess I’m just clueless to “their, Humor” but WTF does THAT MEAN???
I thought they like killing wolves, like GINO???
    Boy that kool-aid must be “mind-numbing” :!:

    Deb Says:

GINO has so much nerve telling these people that they have to leave their homes to get jobs when she won’t even leave her home to move into the governor’s mansion! Unbelievable! How can her supporters not see what a friggin hypocrite she is?! Of course they’re also the ones blaming the man who has only been in office for 5 weeks for the economic crisis that the country is in rather than the moron who was in office for 8 years! UGH. Sorry I guess I just needed to vent…

Last nite @ our girls night out get together, we were hashing over who it will be on the front lines questioning and demanding change for our State. Since Gino always tries to play the victim card, especially if she is going to run against a man, then it will be Alaskan women taking the lead. Women won’t let other women play the, “poor me, they are picking on me” card.

Get ready sista Gino, it should strike a cord of fear in you….You will be facing the music from Alaskan Women….and you do know how ruthless we can and will be.

Ruthless= asking tough questions, demanding answers and accountability. Calling a spade a spade, and not listening to the lies and canned speeches. You will need to verbally defend your past actions and lack of actions. You will not be able to sit down at the table and read from your notes….you will have to stand up and answer the same questions as the rest of the canidates will have to answer. You will have to follow the rules and regulations, and no special treatment because you are female. That’s what Imean by Ruthless…we will be asking tough questions. Period.

  38. 188
    Martha Unalaska Yard Sign Says:

SP just wants a work force for her resource development plans (ALL over the state). She wants little worker bees who are so APPRECIATIVE of white people jobs. Take them away from their villages, where they are needed, and then make them grateful for cookies and oil jobs. This is NOT about natives working in YOUR world, Sarah – this is about how native peoples can be a part of resource development from within their villages and places of power, and that’s only part of what many of the villages desire. They want tools to become the masters of their own fates once more (restored to the way we were), and you know what – if we help along the lines the villages need – THEY will be the business people handing fisheries, resource leases, native crafts, etc. Change is coming, there is no doubt – but it’s not what YOU want Sarah.

    Her lie: http://www.thedutchharborfisherman.com/news/show/4983

“She touted the state’s mining, fisheries and oil jobs, saying they allow people to earn good money without permanently leaving the village. As an example she used her husband. Todd Palin grew up in Dillingham and became a North Slope oil worker, where people often work two weeks out of the month.”

Well that’s all a little confusing and convenient, don’t ya think? Sarah Palin seems to think that Todd’s heritage is just another talking point in getting elected, as is everything in her life. Her example to Nicholas Tucker is a joke!

    http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/background/story/561419.html

    Excerpts:

Todd’s parents, Jim Palin and Lena’s daughter Blanche, met in Dillingham. After their divorce, Todd spent winters with his father in Glennallen but returned to Dillingham in summers, where he fished with Lena and Al Andree, learned about outboards and running lines, and helped smoke and can the salmon.

As a candidate for governor two years ago, and more recently on the national stage, Sarah Palin has avidly pointed to her husband’s Eskimo heritage. Lena Andree is one-half Yup’ik, and Todd Palin is one-eighth.

During the 2006 governor’s race, Palin introduced Andree on stage at the Alaska Federation of Natives convention and described her own family’s mixed roots as an example of how whites and Natives can surmount controversies that divide them.

When it came time to debate, however, Palin was often at odds with her Native listeners. On sensitive subsistence hunting and fishing issues, her positions resembled those of urban sportsmen’s groups who backed her.

In the election, she finished far behind Democrat Tony Knowles in rural, Native-dominated districts. Urban and small-town votes carried her to victory. As governor, she has come under criticism for not reaching out to Natives, though her efforts to assist rural Alaska economically have been praised.

Culturally, the Palins live a lifestyle of small-town Alaska. Todd does not take part in Native organizations or tribal politics. He grew up in Glennallen and Wasilla. His Native roots can be seen in his dividends from the Bristol Bay Native Corporation and boyhood visits with his grandma, where he learned to tend fish nets along the Nushagak River.

“It’s distasteful to say my husband is Native, my children are Native, so trust me. Just tell me what you believe,” said a Palin critic, former state Sen. Georgianna Lincoln, following the AFN debate that year.

Sarah Palin lost the 2006 governor’s election in Dillingham, 480-242. In Manokotak, Palin lost 63-33.
