I am very late to this thread - but I just wanted to put a burr under your saddles about the idea that you are 'not' a swing state based upon the results of the presidential election.

I (and most of my friends) found it quite odd that the election predictions done by Nate Silver from fivethirtyeight.com were 99% accurate for every single state except Alaska. I also find it odd, when the results were first announced that Stevens had won when the polls said Begich was ahead. Fortunately, that one was close enough for a recount and Begich actually did win - and just about by the amount that had been predicted by fivethirtyeight.com.

Makes me wonder if an informal recount might be done by some interested parties to verify the results of the Obama/McCain contest as well. Obama was supposed to carry the state by a small margin.

Like I said - just seems odd that Alaska was the one place where Nate Silver didn't get it right.

Adult chat? What the heck is that? Is that like... one-handed typing? Perhaps a cottage industry is in the making for Alaska? As in hand towel production. ...
