Palin-Johnston Wedding is Off! (Updated, Yet Again)
11 03 2009Since the “first family” concept has been forcibly shoved down the throat of Alaskans lately, and since Bristol Palin has recently granted an exclusive interview with Greta Van Susteren at Fox News, and since Governor Sarah Palin did a “pop in” and participated in that interview with her daughter and grandson for national release, AND since the topic of this interview was teen pregnancy, and in particular Bristol’s teen pregnancy, I’m assuming that the “kids are off limits” thing is over.
All that being said…..Ruh-roh. Trouble in paradise. If you believe the latest report, it seems like the much anticipated summer nuptials of Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston have been canceled. Bristol, reportedly, has dumped Levi like a bag o’ dirt. How do we know this? Levi’s sister Mercede Johnston has spilled the beans to Star Magazine.
Levi’s sister Mercede Johnston says Bristol actually broke up with Levi more than a month ago, is not attending school and rarely lets her baby daddy see their young son. Mercede also says Bristol even told him that she hates him and, when she learned she was pregnant, wished the baby wasn’t his.
Mercede told Star: “Bristol’s just crazy. That’s the nicest way I can put it. She and Levi actually broke up a while ago!”
Apparently, Levi is also far from being a hands-on dad. Said Mercede: “Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible for him. She tells him he can’t take the baby to our house because she doesn’t want him around ‘white trash.’ She treats him so badly!”
We had an inkling of this a couple months ago when a message from Mercede popped up on her friends unsecured MySpace page talking about the fact that nobody on the Johnston side of the family was allowed to see the baby because of the whole “white trash” thing. Apparently palling around with “white trash” only became objectionable after the baby was born.
And the interview confused those who had read reports of this split, because Bristol stated quite clearly in her recent interview with Greta Van Susteren that Levi was a hands-on dad and saw the baby every day. She also indicated that she was still focusing on her education and planning to get married, although the word “eventually” raised some eyebrows as it was far more vague than “this summer” which is what we’d been hearing to date.
VAN SUSTEREN: What about Levi? How is taking all this?
BRISTOL: Well, he’s a really hands-on dad. He’s just in love with him as much as I am.
VAN SUSTEREN: Does he — how often does he see his son?
BRISTOL: He sees him every day.
VAN SUSTEREN: What are your plans?
BRISTOL: Eventually, we’d like to get married. We’re focusing on, like, getting through school and just getting an education and stuff, getting a career going.
So, alas. It sounds like the Alaska “royal wedding” is off. And according to Mercede, so is the “like getting through school and just getting an education and stuff.”
So far, no response from the Palins, although I’m reasonably sure we can expect some kind of media-bashing official press release to be forthcoming. And also no word on how much Star Magazine forked over for the Johnston interview. There’s surely more to come on this Romeo & Juliet story gone wrong.
[update] The worst part, Mercede continues, is that the former vice presidential candidate supports Bristol’s treatment of Levi, 19. “I used to love Sarah,” Mercede says sadly. “But I’ve lost lots of respect for her.”
But, it sounds like the marriage wouldn’t have worked out too well, anyway, and at least Bristol saw that coming. So, good for her. Next lesson: If you choose to talk to the media, be very careful what you say. And if you need coaching on that point, don’t ask Mom. Or her Communications Director.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
[Update] A Mudflatter on the ground in Juneau says that a scowly Bristol and baby caught a flight out of Anchorage yesterday, and were whisked through the airport at record speed by someone flashing a badge, and escorted across the icy tarmac and whisked out at the other end by senior airport personnel. How many frequent flier miles do you need to get the “whisking” treatment? Just askin’.
Never a dull moment.

SarahPAC spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton did not immediately respond to requests for clarification.

At least now we know where Meghan Stapleton has landed.

If I were Levi I’d be looking for Brittney Spears boyfriend’s (forget his name) lawyer and go for custody/partial custody and make her fork over a portion of the cash she or anyone in the Palin family gets from mentioning Levi’s name in any kind of media.
It was, also, a point well made, by someone earlier, as to why Bristol and Levi were not interviewed, together, by GVS.
In the Today Show clip (http://tinyurl.com/af7jal) one of the hosts says Levi can see the baby anytime he wants. I read that Bristol just bailed town with Tripp, right?
Looks like Levi needs to file a kidnapping police report. Did he give his permission for her to leave with the baby?

Anyway: Do we maybe have another ‘-gate’ coming up for GINO? Whisking Bristol through the airport security, having her being met by some high-level security? Mis-use of State Security Officers for a Non-State-Non-Employee?

Why would anyone care about a silly “vote” on a MSNBC web site where you can vote again and again and again to stack the numbers.
All the major polls show Obama’s personal approval ratings in the high 60’s to low 70’s and his job approval ratings from the high 50’s to the mid 60’s. I believe that way more than an on-line poll that is easy to scam.

The myspace entry had Mercede wishing “Levi would get his head out of his butt”….was he being torn between Bristol not letting his family see the baby and his mother’s/sister’s wrath? Blood IS thicker than water…interesting in the entry it didn’t say that Bristol wasn’t letting Levi see the baby. Things really must have unwraveled between the entry and last month.

The Boston Globe: “Republicans quickly closed ranks around the Palin family, praising the teenager, Bristol Palin, for deciding to have the child and marry the father. At the same time, the revelation focused attention on the GOP’s call, in the party platform adopted yesterday, for unwed teenagers to abstain from sex.” And it went there… “Her story follows debates over whether the movie ‘Juno’ glamorized teenage pregnancy and whether the real-life pregnancy of 16-year-old actress Jamie Lynn Spears provided the wrong role model for teenage viewers.”
The New York Post cover: “Palin teen baby shock.” The story: “Palin teen has baby on board.”
And the Post goes there curtain raising who it says is the father… “Levi Johnston.” Johnston, 17, who is entering his senior year at Wasilla HS, plays on the school hockey team and was once teammates on a youth squad with Palin’s older brother, Track, 19, now in the Army. Despite suffering a cracked bone in his shin last season, Johnston scored 24 goals in 24 games.
” ‘We don’t want to talk about this,’ said a woman who answered the phone at the Johnston home. On a MySpace page subsequently taken down, Johnston boasts, ‘I’m a f – - -in’ redneck’ who likes to snowboard and ride dirt bikes. ‘But I live to play hockey. From what I am reading- Is Levi lawyered up? He needs to get his child custody straightened out. He has a right to have visitation with his child where he lives. Grandparents also have rights to their grandchildren. The courts can restrict these rights, but not the Palins. I don’t suppose the courts can hold what his mother does with drugs against him. His mom and dad are split up- who does he live with? Good Luck to him.

Levi needs a mean LADY divorce/custody lawyer. We have one down here named – get ready – Becky Beaver. She is so ferocious that even if you don’t use her , you still go see her for 1 hr. just to block your SO/enemy from hiring her.If Sarah even sneezed wrong – Becky would depose her ass.

This is a pivotal time for Levi. Yes, he first of all needs good legal counsel and to assert his rights. If not, he’ll wake up one day and feel how he’s been dicked.
Doesn’t he live with his mother and Mercede now? He’s calling his sister a liar. He said the AP is wrong, but it is Mercede’s words he negates. Levi talks like his head is still up his butt, he needs help. What are the Palins going to do, get together and dump the whole bad guy role on Mercede?
The Sarah/MegPac statement was bizarre. I’m in disbelief. Not b/c it is ugly and it’s obvious Bristol didn’t write it.
Why would they use that venue for a Bristol statement? Bristol is an adult that now has her own following due to her own actions. Isn’t she an advocate? Bristol needs to speak for herself, without a script or no one except Sarah/MegPacs will believe her again. The Gov’s office may not want to comment but it looks worse to have a PAC do it the way they did. Politicians kids have been in the limelight before. How did the Reagans handle the Patti Davis scandals?
When the Star comes out on the 23rd I feel for Mercede. Levi, watch your back and keep your loyalty to your sister. First of all lawyer up.

of the screen it mentioned the breakup between Levi and Bristol.
The last sentence said “Bristol blames media interference.”

Levi, you too can have a nice house like the Palins, especially in this market with prices falling; all ya got to do is Tell The Truth. Okay, the name thing has been bugging me (not the crazy Palin names, but the Johnstons). Levi and Mercede. If you add an “s” to the end of each, you get Levis and Mercedes. Is that some sort of inside joke? Is mom Sherry afflicted with the same goofy fondness for product names as A) the Palins, and B) a certain small percentage of African American moms?

Question #1: If Palin reruns for Gov. in 2010, are her 2008 tax returns required to be submitted wherever and would they be available for public scruntiny?
Question #2: Same thing, substitute “runs for US congress” in place of “reruns for Gov.”.
Question #3: Same thing, substitute “runs for Pres or VP in 2012″.
Question #4: In y’alls opinion, will Bristol and Trigg show up as dependents on Sarah & Todd’s tax return for 2008? Trigg was [supposedly] born in the last days of 2008. Anyone know details of the tax law?
Questions 5 through whatever: If No. 4 turns out no, will Trigg show up on BP’s tax return as a dependent? Has BP ever filed a tax return? Does she know HOW to file a tax return? Does Levi? How does that affect his rights? Geez, this is complicated.
Last question, in two parts: Does it look to any of you like the next person getting heaved in the direction of the tires of an oncoming public transportation vehicle is Mercerde Johnston, and how are brother Levi, Mother Sherry [and let's not forget Levi's Dad, presumably also Mercede's Dad] likely to react to that?

I’d like to know more about Levi’s Dad, or Mercede’s Dad? I think his name is Keith Johnston. When he is quoted, he supports his son. He also seems to back up the Palins. I don’t know what he has to say about Mercede.
If Levi is to be the Palin’s ideal visiting(butt boy)father , they will have to all be on the same page. Mercede is a wild card. Both Bristol and Levi use the word inaccurate, it is clear someone is lying. They do not directly confront what Mercede said. It is doubtful they will sue The Star. Bristol and Levi are back to the same script writers. It would be nice for Sarah if no one mentions Mercede again. It should not be difficult for Sarah and Meg to wreck her reputation.
Bristol is an adult who is stuck living like a child with a child under parental control. I hope she will always love mooseburgers. She is not only the “daughter of”, she’s made her own name around the world. She is an advocate. She can speak about abstinence-only and people will listen and she could earn her own money. She could help other young unwed mothers. I know of unwed mothers that are in the army. Bristol does have options.
Mercede has called her out and challenged her to the truth. Mercede is a peer, she is younger then Bristol. This is not about leave some politician’s immature child alone. It may be hell but young women with far less opportunity emancipate and raise children. Use your own voice, Bristol. Sarah’s days are numbered as a politician of any significance. I won’t be shocked if she ends up in the slammer. There is no good reason to keep that farce of SarahPac going. It will devour someone like Bristol. She’ll end up like Britney Spears, driving her babies around for coffee and collecting tickets. We don’t want to see Bristol with a shaved head!
If Levi has the strength to be a man now he could have a positive effect on freeing both his sister, his children and poor Bristol. He would get a lot more respect. LEVI, LAWYER UP!

Lies, lies and yet more lies, also, there. I shall never forget Bristol’s face on TV – betrayed by her own mother for political expediency – when she and the rest of the family were wheeled out by The Wild Witch of the North and Bristol’s pregnancy went global. I shall never forget Levi’s horrified face and instinctive recoil as McCain slapped him on the arm in ‘congratulation’ when the news came out of Bristol’s pregnancy and there was talk of marriage and Levi and Bristol were paraded about. I shall never forget TWWOTN’s mad trip backto Alaska “whilst in labour” – for me that proved quite how little regard she had for the safety of an unborn and ‘at risk’ child.
TWWOTN has used everyone in her greedy grasping for the prize she didn’t deserve and didn’t win. The woman is lethal and toxic. She needs calling out on her bullsh!t at every opportunity.
I thought I’d got over my instinctive dislike of the woman. Breathe .. and relax … breathe … AND relax …. breathe …
