Alaska residents will remember when our last governor, who we thought was the worst possible governor EVER, had gone past the point of no return. The signs were unmistakable.
In fact, the ‘signs’ were found all along bike trails in Juneau… stuck in piles of frozen dog poo.
Frank Murkowski heads on little paper flags popped up like mushrooms of discontent, and greeted runners and bikers all along the trails of the capital city.
Well, guess what.
A Juneau Mudflatter, walking her dog on the Dredge Lake trail in Juneau yesterday saw THIS:

“Imminent in the next day or so” implies that the news already exists…that some decision has been made and that some agency will soon make their findings public. Just another thought. : )

Yukonbushgrma – you make a good point. Here one charity is Presbyterian services that I believe qualifies for government funding in part. The difference is though that they do NOT attempt to indoctrinate you.
I used their family services many years ago and religion, God or Jesus was NOT mentioned. So I think it’s fine for religious NPOs to get federal/state funding but it should be for the purpose claimed – not for religious preaching.

Funny story – my husband was a chemist for a large municipal wastewater department and he belonged to a union: Sanitary Chemists and Technicians Association or SCATA. I always thought that was hilarious.

My FAVORITE joke on Murkowski, the poopy governor! I saw his flags everywhere & they were all colors – green, pink, blue and maybe yellow? Pink ones were my favorite because the poo contrast was so excellent. I believe it was F Murkowski’s official gov picture that was used, so it’s fitting that SP’s official idiot picture is used, too. Hurray for Juneau – Anchorage does a rally, we make (and enjoy) poo signs!

I was just on my way over here to report the info from Diva’s Blue Oasis but it looks like some other early birds just found it. Is this the thing or is it going to be a double bombshell day? This one looks pretty good in terms of unambiguous ethics violation. Sarah, I think you’d better send a check to your lawyers, quick, also too, or they are going to just throw up their hands and stomp off in disgust. “Enough is enough,” they’ll say. “Can’t you just stay out of the poo for a week or so at a time? When he saw what had happened to his poop he let out an earsplitting howl and headed at breakneck speed straight for home.
His owner sent for a dog therapist, but it may be sometime before he is persuaded out of the house again.

I think it is fitting that a simple ethics violation related to her misusing her position as governor for personal gain would be the thing to bring her down. Aside from the fact that she is a brainless dingbat whackjob, what has kept us nipping at her heels is her playing fast and loose with ethics, as in, she has none. She rose to power because of her lack of ethics. She should fall off the cliff into poo due to her lack of ethics. I can think of nothing more disrespectful to her office and the State of Alaska than her overwhelming lack of ethics that she has used for personal gain.
Hardly a bombshell. These ethics complaints happen quite regularly in SP’s tenure. Was hoping for something more villainous.
Remember what brought down Al Capone. It isn’t always the juiciest scandal. The regularity you speak of….the ceaseless drip drip drip, the pounding of the waves, these are the things that erode even the mightiest mountains. AKM

I absolutely don’t think the complaint is frivolous (that word is getting more and more misused in relation to GINO). It clearly fits the description of using her office for personal gain.
AKM needs to get out of bed and remove the braindead cheerleader who obviously also too does not understand that ethics in public officials are the key to good government. Alaska needs a governor with a strong personal sense of ethics, a genuine belief in transparent government, the ability to actually govern instead of just campaign and posture, and a humble thoughtfulness applied to the problems of governance. GINO doesn’t even faintly meet those qualifications.
And when she flew to Fairbanks in her “official capacity as Governor” to start the race, didn’t the state pick up the tab?

Actually, I hope that AKM’s news ISN’T this “news”, and instead is something broader and more dangerous.
I don’t agree that public opinion will backfire in GINO’s favor. It is another example on top of all the others that GINO simply has no clue about conflict of interest or ethics. That shows once again that she is a very poor governor at a very basic level. All people who serve as public officials (well, except people like Blago and his ilk) understand that even the perception of ethical impropriety is damaging not just to them personally, but to the office they hold. I think it is funny that rightwingies say stupid stuff like Obama is disrespecting the office of the presidency by not wearing a jacket or going on Leno, but they ignore blatant repeated violations of official written ethics code in somebody like GINO. And she’s not just unethical, in a whole slew of ways (pick one, any one), she’s incompetent, she doesn’t play well with others (pretends to until somebody disagrees with her), she doesn’t have any sense of detail when it comes to governing, she doesn’t want to be bothered with the slog work of governance, she’s a liar, she’s a crappy mom, and she’s really not very smart. I think Alaskans and Americans would be disrespecting the office of governor and the entire idea of governing well by NOT going after somebody so clearly unsuited to the job.

Anyone who thinks this is of no consquence should imagine Mrs Palin going to an oil industry meeting wearing a jacket embroidered with the BP logo.
This morning I told my very laid back husband about GINO showing up in her official governor capacity to start the Iron Dog, dressed like a billboard for her husband’s sponsors. He said that anybody with a brain could see that was an obvious conflict of interest.
Speaking of conflict of interest, GINO’s definition of that term is “anybody who disagrees with her.”
My first thought was that this was overblown. Eh, so what? She wore a jacket. But after reading through these posts I had two other thoughts. One is that since I do not live in Alaska and don’t understand how big or important the IronDog thingy is, I may be missing the impact that SP wearing a corporate sponsorship regalia might have had. The second is that SP is that this is a pattern for SP to believe she is not really bound to ethics rules and regulations. She is either incredibly ignorant and provincial in her thinking, or she does know better, but thinks the rules just don’t apply to her.
Because Gov. Jindal has been in the news lately, I thought I’d share a little story about him that was passed along to me by a friend who knows him. When Jindal was getting married he had just been appointed as the secretary of the Louisiana Health and Hospitals. He was so careful about ethics violations now that he was a state employee, that he very carefully scrutinized what wedding gifts he could accept from family and friends. He sent back alot when he didn’t need to.
Contrast that with Sarah Palin’s attitude toward her position and potential conflicts of interest.
Peachie’s fine, Tewise, but I’m gonna miss Lance. And yes, Peachie will be very careful in future posts. Wandering the spam hall is NO fun.

I haven’t caught up yet, but I see Celtic Diva’s post is being discussed. You all know that these anonymous (and not so anonymous) Alaska blue bloggers extraordinaire all know each other, right? They are really their own version of TEAMSARAH. If you cheer on one (our awesome AKM), you are cheering them all!
And don’t forget, Celtic Diva was at the turkey poo (oops, murder) event, so how COOL is that? I am thankful for her wit, her untiring devotion to promoting a progressive attitude in Alaska (I almost said HERE in Alaska but that’s the poo queen’s line – icky pool!), her investigative abilities and her blog just to name a few. She is AWESOME!
I think most people will understand why Sarah wore the Arctic Cat jacket, and view this particular complaint as an example of the lengths her opponents will go to to make her look bad. I have not said or spoken out about any other of the ethics complaints. Regardless of whose team you are on, a complaint of this nature has to be viewed as petty, in my opinion. There are many serious concerns about Sarah Palin that do deserve attention. This complaint will detract from those issues that are more important.

TeamPoo and other GINO supporters thought troopergate was a partisan, petty attack. It was neither. They will think this is a partisan, petty attack. It is also neither. It is a valid recognition of GINO’s inability to even understand her ethical responsibilities as governor, much less adhere to them. And it definitely points to a pattern of across the board violations.
Speaking of board, when is the Legislature going to fix the inherent conflict of interest in having ethics complaints against the governor decided by a panel she appointed? Where’s the legislation to change THAT obvious conflict of interest?

As for the ethics of her sponsor-laden parka… (please don’t throw tomatoes, ok?) how much clothing today is covered in brand name stitchery or whatever? I take it they were logos of her husband’s sponsor, which technically would be a no-no, but… Even as Governor, how is she supposed to *not* root for her own husband?
So, it seems to me that it could be seen as a grey area, without conscious or willful intent.

I would say that it is the quality of the complaint rather than the quantity that is more important. This ethics violation is to ethics rules as driving 4 miles over the speed limit is to traffic laws.
Perhaps people should start sending emails to Arctic Cat headquarters, saying that they don’t approve of the obvious conflict of interest that the Alaska Governor showed by advertising for them in her official capacity as governor.

Actually, this may be serious than it seems at first look. After reading the complaint, it is very clear there is a foundation for the ethics violation. SP IS wearing the clothing and pictures ARE posted on the government website showing her wearing the clothing. I am also wondering how DEEP the discounts were that Arctic Cat gave Todd for the snow mobile(s)? I am wondering if they were GIVEN to the Palin team in exchange for wearing the clothing at this event? I’m wondering how one would find that out. I think the pictures are especially da*ning. This time, there is no weasel/wiggle room – the photographic evidence would be very hard to talk around!
On another note, no disrespect to Alaska, BUT there is only ONE First Family, and they reside in the White House in Washington, DC. Just saying.

I mean giving state money to a single religious organization ($ 25,000!! is a lot of money) seems much more damning and against our constitution I would think……!

A Wasilla connection hinted last night about a new scandal involving Sarah and a Sheri Johnston “deal”, in a payoff to prevent Levi from doing something supremely embarassing. But it’s so outrageous (even in the realm of Sarahland) that I hesitate to talk about it prematurely. If it turns out to be true, it would be hilarious!
This isn’t about converting her supporters. It is about getting her out of the Governor’s office and keeping her from running successfully for national office. Her TeamPooesque supporters can’t be converted, and most of them are not from Alaska. Keeping the spotlight on her violations HAS made a difference in Alaska, opening the eyes of many Alaskans who thought she actually meant it when she talked about reform and transparency. They supported what she said, but many of them have realized that she didn’t actually mean it. That’s important and will help end her Alaska career. As for national office, there are far more of us than there are Sarah-Lovers, and the spotlight is even brighter. She doesn’t have a chance. If she wanted a national career, she should have buckled down and tried governing for a change. What a concept.

I, for one, couldn’t give a poo about her supporters. They are all drunk with tribal wine and as I’ve said many times before, lost to us and to the world of sanity and good judgment.
Believe me, the climate in AK has changed (Sarah doesn’t believe in that, remember?) and she’s just not the cutsie folksie governor anymore. Many everyday Alaskans are just flat tired of the drama, the lack of getting things done during session, the infighting, the nasty comments that have almost ruined all online Alaskan newspapers, and the constant whining of the gov.
What you see and hear are the POLARIZED (fitting for Alaska, isn’t it?) groups and they/we get louder everyday. Her defenders can’t change her, though – she’s still a twit who can’t draw any boundaries and she’s stuck with that trait. She doesn’t listen to anyone, so political advisers, no matter how smart, will have to just stuff her in a box if they want to have any success w/ keeping her from making more and more mistakes.
The biggest danger was letting her “slip in under the radar” to the national scene just as she did w/ Frank Murkowski and the gov race in Alaska That didn’t happen, and I don’t think you all realize that was her biggest and best door. Just imagine how frustrated and disappointed she was over that one – she’s never really recovered. That doesn’t mean she’s not going to try – she will try like hell – but we all slammed the most important door right in front of her nose. Be thankful and proud! YES WE CAN!
Now, on to keeping the light shining on her and exposing her for the whack job control freak that she is. One day, the sort of decent conservatives who thinks she’s their figurehead will realize that she’s damaged goods and not really who they thought she was. There is no in between with SarahPoo – she’s like Bush that way, you’re either “with me or against me”. So when a supporter of hers “wakes up and smells the poo”, you will notice that they don’t just slip away. They begin to go after her.

The dogs of Juneau have spoken… when this happened to Murkowski – hate to say it (no, I don’t) poo just started going downhill fast…and if you haven’t tried it yet, don’t – just take my word for it – poo DOES stick to teflon. Poo sticks to EVERYTHING – just ask a parent, or a nurse!
Gino is kind of like a profession pageant quean. Modeling Arctic Cat sportswear is just another show and go opportunity. She can easily come up with some lame excuse to weasel out of any wrong doing. Her luggage was lost after all, or her loyal staffer forgot to pack her winter cloths…… She isn’t in any doo doo or poo poo because she was marketing winter cloths while being Gov of Alaska. Let me add a few lines to why I think this is important; I am not just kidding about “Follow the fashion.”
Many of Palin’s “gates” are related to what she wears: the missing RNC wardrobe issue was a serious problem in the nat’l campaign, and now this. Whatever you think of “Baby-gate,” one of its features is that Palin never wore maternity clothes during her entire 2007-2008 pregnancy.
This is a woman who fawningly followed Ivana Trump around Anchorage, remember?
Palin has a true “fashion” complex. She can’t help but want to be “hawt,” if not “haute.” It relates to her narcissism, to be sure, but I am saying it is part of a personality disorder.
This is an established pattern of behavior. Palin will do it again; she will bring attention to herself through vanity, ethical violation, and clothing.
Beauty is her “calling card”; beauty is her weakness.If you are trying to bring her down, pls. do think about this and how it will affect her future behavior, esp. as she tries to become more than a footnote on the national scene.

Can you imagine if President Obama threw out the first ball during the opening baseball game of the season wearing a jacket provided to him by a manufacturer of baseball equipment and his family had received monetary gifts or discounts from this same manufacturer? Or what if he gave a press conference wearing a “Drink Coke” t-shirt? Or put up a billboard on the White House lawn that said, “This beautiful lawn courtesy of Miracle-Gro!”?
Governor Palin, as I’ve written about extensively, has no concept of right and wrong, at least when it comes to her position as Governor. She cannot have taken even a basic ethics course, and she certainly does not understand Alaska ethics laws as it relates to her executive position.

The reason Linda, Celtic Diva is talking about this on the radio before she has even filed the new eithics complaint is to get good information out first, once it’s filed she’s not technically supposed to talk about it, it’s then supposed to be confidential once filed, that’s if I understand how this works correctly.
This is a charge that should stick, there is clear evidence in black and white that she is violating AK ethics, with the financial disclosure to prove it. It’s gonna be hard to ignore this one Ms Scarahpoo.

Perhaps it would be fair to say that many have doubts. In my opinion this will be more helpful to Sarah from a PR standpoint regardless of the merits of the complaint. Just my opinion.

Then she becomes incredibly bossy – but always sicky sweet to newcomers or new acquaintances. This is exactly what she did in Wasilla, and then what she did on the Oil and Gas Commission. Then on to Gov. Murkowski. And did you notice how she also tried it with Senator Obama? She could not have come back to Alaska to hide out – she was already crossing ethical lines as soon as she was Mayor of Wasilla and hasn’t stopped since. No amount of coaching is going to stick.
I heard so many rumors flying after she lost the election for the Rs- and I shook my head at most of them not coming out of Alaska. Oh, she’s going to move south (no f”in way), and on and on. She would NEVER step out of her “power base” for any length of time until she had established a new one just as good. Not gonna happen. She doesn’t have enough substance to train – her followers mistake her narcissistic personality for resolve and strength of character.
Palin gives $500 million of AK’s money to TransCanada for a pipeline to nowhere thanks to the AGIA, while she parades around in Artic Cat gear, winking at Greta’s husband….
