I wish that I lived in Alaska. You folks have all the fun. While I'm searching for entertaining comedy at clubs and on film, all you folks need do is get a daily statement from your governor. Seriously, does she wear those "special" shoes so that she can walk without falling down?

Not to be petty, but who invented lip liner, and why? I'm a early 50's mom. My youngest is 4. I've never seen a need for lip liner. The one time some make up artist put it on me, it looked silly, fake, and really not all that becoming when the actual lipstick wore off. Is too much make up also a christian trait? I can't see Palin without thinking Tammy Fae anymore.

AKM wrote:

Soooo….she wants a new election to take place for the senate seat. And she wants Begich to step aside so that can happen. Buuuut….she doesn’t want him to resign. And the Daily News Miner just kind of made that up.
(thud)
That was my forehead coming into sudden and violent contact with my desk.

Andrew Halcro wrote:

Dermot Cole, a journalist with the Fairbanks Daily News Miner, sent a note to Governor Palin's office asking, "Does the governor agree with the GOP statement that Begich should resign?"

According to Cole, four hours later the governor's spokeswoman responded by e-mail:
"Regarding your question re: GOP's statement today: 'I absolutely agree.' Sarah Palin

But yet she says she didn't ask for Begich to step down?

        My brain hurts.
*******
Great minds bang their desks at the same time?

People magazine reported without objection that Levi had been staying with the Palins, but now SP says Levi would have been allowed to stay "over my dead body." That may explain why she hasn't been looking well lately; she's been dead for months.

But seriously, is this really anything new? All that is new (for some of us, anyway) is the dawning realization that such blatant, easily verifiable contradictions are not the product of an inept liar, but of a person who is truly mentally ill. I wouldn't have said this before (and who cares what I think, anyway?), but SP needs to be removed before her erratic attempts to reinvent reality cause serious harm to Alaska. If I were an Alaskan, I'd be thinking we can't wait out a year and a half of this. I don't hate SP, and I suspect her insistence on making up an alternate reality has its roots in some pretty ugly childhood trauma. But she isn't going to seek help until she can no longer stave off the consequences with fresh inventions and lies. Can Alaska wait for that?

Progressive Alaska reports a rumor that SP may withdraw W.A.R.'s nomination because he is likely to be rejected. Let us hope that her lies and disrespect for the legislature, not to mention her neglect of her job, will be a major force for bipartisanship and cooperation.

Dontcha all know that 'Stepping DOWN' and 'Stepping ASIDE' is not the same?
Just like Levi 'living with us' is not the same as Levi 'staying with' us!
"See, I 'learnt' my lesson when Clinton was in office, and now i am showing off the lessons I 'learnt' , too, also. You betcha!"

@Jim (#198) re: Organizational Sociopaths
I admit I didn't read the whole paper, but this section caught my eye as it SO PERFECTLY captures Sarah Palin (the first paragraph) and her staff and followers (second paragraph). She really is sociopathic...

Davison and Neale (1998) define such behaviour as anti social, demonstrated through superficial displays of charm, habitual lying, no regard for others, no remorse, no shame, taking no responsibility for mistakes and no evidence of learning from either making mistakes or from punishment meted out for making mistakes (except to become more cunning in future, to avoid getting caught).

Organisational complexity encourages delegation. Tasks can be effectively delegated to specialists, but it also means that some managers do little that directly adds value to the organisation, except managing the delegation of work. The sociopathic manager will establish a network of operatives within and without the organisation. These select few individuals will be nurtured, but not for reasons of close friendship. They provide a
means of control through a carefully managed program where sycophantic behaviour is rewarded and nay saying is punished. A dependent arrangement is established whereby the rewarded feel a sense of gratitude, and, hungry for more, will ingratiate themselves further into the controlling clutches of the rewarder.

Anyone have an explanation for both Molly and GINO referring to Levi's "wedding ring" in the Esquire magazine?? Molly telling GINO that "Levi got his wedding ring stuck on his thumb". GINO's response was priceless: ""Levi! That's par for the course. That means you're stuck. That's symbolic or something."

So much for symbolism, GINO.

Unless I have missed something, wedding rings usually come AFTER a wedding??? Somehow I can't see him randomly finding "his weddng ring" laying around the kitchen (where they were at the time) and Levi picking it up and playing with it...so much so that it gets stuck on his thumb.

Just sayin'
Just sayin'.
