Palin Interview – A Seven Course Salad

salad

The “Good Friday Surprise Guest” on Eddie Burke’s radio show was none other than the governor herself.  Eddie Burke has the #1 rated talk show in the Anchorage area on KBYR 700AM, and is the one who called the women who attended the “Alaska Women Reject Sarah Palin” rally “a bunch of socialist baby-killing maggots” and then gave out their names and home phone numbers on the air, resulting in threatening phone calls.  Who could have imagined THAT would happen.

But here is a transcript of most of the interview he had with the governor on Friday.  This part came after he pretended to be surprised it was her, and like he had no idea who this “surprise guest” was going to be.  I give him a C- for that performance.

The Mutual Word Salad  Admiration Society

SP: I’m doing fine, and you’re doing very fine with your ratings and everything else. Congratulations!

EB:  Well, thank you so much Governor.  It’s an honor to hear from you.  I really mean that, you know.  I’m a big fan of yours, and I just…I’m not just a fan, I…really, I agree with what you’re doing and it’s been a long time since I’ve ever been this, um, I don’t know, happy about an elected leader like yourself.

SP: I appreciate that very much.  Well, lots going on in Juneau so I wanted to call and touch base.  But I did want to kick off the conversation congratulating you, Eddie.  Your work ethic, and just the way you’re putting everything together on the show that so many Alaskans are appreciating, so congratulations on that, that appreciation being made manifest with your ratings.

EB:  Well, thank you so much.  It has been, it’s been pretty humble, and I you know I think the listeners out there as you know I know, you thank the voters in a way for our high ratings and being number one in the afternoon, so I appreciate that Governor for recognizing.

Who gets the Word Salad Award on this exchange?  Sarah’s the defending champion.  She’s proven herself over and over… but Burke’s response, especially that last part was pretty impressive.  I think the judges are going to have to give this one a tie.

On the Democrats Rejection of Senate Candidate Joe Nelson

Well, it is quite ridiculous, this rejection because obviously he is highly qualified, experienced.  He is a very impressive and dynamic young Native leader and he has lived a very interesting and very impressive life.  And what he can bring to the table in this senate is impressive and it’s needed.  So quite unfortunate that the senate Democrats would choose not to discuss it in public, not to take a vote in public, and their is a law on the books that says they are to take the vote in public.  To choose to ignore that and just dismiss this candidate.  Our first candidate too, Mr. Grussendorf.  He was fine also.  Both these gentlemen, they recognize, Eddie, and this is so important for the state of Alaska.  They recognize that down here in southeast, there is opportunity to develop our resources down here too.  And if there isn’t participation from this district, from this region, government’s just going to grow to pay more bills for people who could should be put to work developing our resources. Both those candidates were very high on the responsible development that this area has such great potential for.  So disappointing that they though they’re not you know, the self acclaimed movers and shakers within the hard core Democrat party down here.  They’re Democrats, but they recognize the need to develop and I was impressed with both of them.

I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating because when people leave a big steaming pile of spin, somebody has to get a shovel and clean it up.  When the governor selected Wes Keller to replace convicted corrupt bastard Vic Kohring, he was chosen from a list provided to the governor, and then the Republicans voted behind closed doors.  You can’t change the rules in the middle of the game.  Well, you CAN, but then people will call you names and won’t want to play with you anymore because they’ll think you’re manipulative and untrustworthy.   And even though the governor’s “Dig, Baby Dig” pro-mining candidates are qualified for something, it’s not being a senator.  That’s why the Democrats have presented the governor with five candidates so far, candidates they feel would best replace Senator Kim Elton, the guy that the people of Juneau voted in to do the job in the first place.  They have selected five qualified candidates all of whom they feel would do well representing the people of Juneau, not the governor.   All of them have been rejected by the governor.

So if we’re keeping score in the big game of rejection, it’s Palin 5 – Senate Democrats 2.  And the two that the Dems rejected weren’t really even in the game in the first place.

There’s an attempt there to erode the governor’s office authority to be the appointing authority and then they confirm.  What we’re seeing too is that those in the local party who are speaking for what you would assume is all Democrats down here are not necessarily speaking for all Democrats.  We have folks calling our offices, and stopping me on the street saying “Please, open it back up.  Consider as many folks as you can.  Do more interviews. Vet more candidates.  Don’t just believe a few in this political party down here, (some would characterize it as an interest group), take their advice.  Take their input.  But don’t feel beholden to just a few.  Make your best pick.”  And that’s what we’ve tried twice now, but we’ll keep pluggin’ away because in this area again there’s great development potential as there is all over the state of Alaska.  But we can’t have folks serving in the legislature who will only say “no”.  If we’re going to become less reliant on the federal government, if we’re going to be the still self-sufficient, pioneering state that we like to talk about ourselves being, we have got to start saying “yes” to responsible development.

Those mavericky Democrats have forgotten that the governor is the “appointing authority and then they confirm.”  See, if they’d just do what they’re told, things would run so smoothly.  Have I mentioned that every Democrat I know is beaming like a lightbulb at the complete and very cool “spineliness” of the Senate Dems?  Well, they are.

And the Senate Democrats may be interested to know that the governor has demoted them to an “interest group” who can’t serve in the legislature if they’ll only say “no”.  That’s Alaska through the glasses of the governor – The Republican Party and the Democratic “interest group”.  Oh, excuse me…  “Democrat interest group” because for some reason Rush Limbaugh has convinced Republicans to think its really cool and insulting to use a noun like an adjective. (eye roll)  Maybe we should start saying the “Republic” party.  That’ll get ‘em.

On Wayne Anthony Ross’ Appointment as Attorney General

Not just conservatives and moderates, but every Alaskan should appreciate this pick because Wayne Anthony Ross is so committed to our constitution, and he’s going to do what’s right. He’s going to do what’s fair.  He is a great pick, and yeah, I was just watching on Gavel to Gavel also, he’s getting grilled by some on the House committee.  I just heard Jay Ramras asking him questions about…it sounded like he was asking whether I should have worn my Arctic Cat coat up in Fairbanks at a race or not, and Wayne Anthony Ross, you know, he’s saying, “I think I got better things to do to concentrate on than what the governor’s gonna do or wear or whatever.  But yeah, the politics are played in a process like that…..(sigh)….I guess we go through the exercise.  I’m very very confident he will be confirmed, though.  He loves our state.  He will abide by the constitution and he will do what’s right by all Alaskans.

Yes, the Attorney General, who is the governor’s immediate ethics superviser and advisor has MUCH better things to do with his time than worry about…(chuckling)…you know….ethics.  Ramras also asked Ross about a potential book deal and book tour during the governor’s term in office, and was brushed off like dandruff.  So, if Ross is AG, don’t hold your breath for any ethics issues in the Palin administration to be taken seriously.  And then there are all those pain in the ass Natives and gays and women.  He’ll have a lot of ignoring to do.  It’s going to be tough work being that divisive.  But then again, Mr. Ross has had plenty of practice at that.

On the Legislature and the Stimulus

They’re working of course on the budget right now and the stimulus package dollars, and I still do not like the stimulus package.  I do not like the stimulus package idea.  I hate thinking that Alaska’s going to be part of the problem instead of the solution.  The problem to me is growing our national debt, and forcing Alaska to be in deficit spending mode.  I do not like that.  Having said that, seeing that both bodies, House and Senate have passed resolutions where they have resolved to take the money anyway, then I’ve gotta work with that, and how I want to work with that is backing out of our own budget, then, general funds which can be replaced by the federal stimulus funds. We’re working on that today, and we’ll talk with lawmakers about that tonight and tomorrow and hopefully they’ll see the light and understand that some of these dollars don’t have to be additional dollars to grow government but they can replace the dollars we were going to spend anyway.  So that’s the hot issue of the day.

(More on the stimulus below.)

On Parental Consent vs. Parental Notification (for girls 17 and under terminating a pregnancy)

The Bill’s sponsor, Coghill, he has now essentially conceded.  He’s being pragmatic about it, saying at least give us parental notification about it.  If we can’t get consent, we’ll compromise on notification. And at this point I’m there in saying with him that that involvement of a parent with their child, making a life-changing decision.  Notificaation – well that’s better than nothing.  So that’s where I’m going to be with that, and I anticipate the Senators would have a heck of a time saying no to parental notification.  They would have an easier time, if you will, saying no to parental consent.  So, compromise bill coming through.

I have only one question for anyone who thinks Parental Consent OR Parental Notification should be law.  What if one of the “parents” mentioned in that “parental consent or notification” is the one who got the girl pregnant?  Any girl with a good, healthy relationship with her parents will probably tell them.  Anyone who doesn’t, won’t.  And it’s not up to the government to tell a girl who has suffered abuse how she needs to handle it with her family.  Remember how Republicans are supposed to hate government interfering in their lives?

On Levi

Well, very disappointing and surprising.  You know, like the Tyra Banks Show.  Bristol didn’t even know he was going on the show, so, you know, quite devastated to find out he was on an airplane heading to New York to do the show.  She was quite devastated, but she’s a strong young woman and quite independant, and recognizes too that sometimes folks are enticed with an idea from fame, maybe a hint of fortune attached even, and that clouds a person’s judgement.  And that’s what I attribute some of Levi’s actions to.  He’s a young kid.  Every kid that age, they’ve got a lot of growing up to do, and but forever and ever he’s going to be Tripps father and part of our family and, you know, we will love him and help him through this also, and I anticipate at the end of the day, things are going to be good.  Just kind of a  rough time right now but I’m thankful that I know the truth through of that also, and by the way I do want to clear up one issue that has really just been a bee in my bonnet over the whole Levi Johnston.  Would have been over my dead body that I would have ever given permission for a teenage boy to live with a teenage girl.  Other than that though, you know, my prayer is always for wisdom and for strength and part of that wisdom I ask for is to know when to just shut up, keep my mouth shut, and let truth be revealed on its own at some point, and that’s what I’m trying to live right now, through this latest episode.

It’s already been established the Johnstons didn’t get paid for the appearance.  And Levi has already stated that he was living at the Palin’s house.  So… I guess somebody’s lying.  Somebody’s always lying….  Wonder why that is?

Lies About the Stimulus Money

OK, this time it’s easy to tell who it is.

EB:  Let’s say we get the funding for some X,Y,Z program for three years, and then after the three years, well who’s going to pay for it?  Is that my understanding of your kind of your litmus test is that if there’s not long-term funding for it, then there’s no sense in enacting a program that we’re not going to be able to sustain.

SP:  Well, that and the strings that are attached.  The federal control of programs and projects here in Alaska that accepting these dollars will neccessitate.  Those have been my hesitancies in putting my arms around the stimulus package, but you talk about three years from now, and some of those funds may not be there.  It’s a given that two years from now these funds will not be there.  So for me, my argument about stimulus dollars has been why would we go out and hire a bunch of new government employees?  Why would we grow these programs and grow the roles of beneficiaries if in 18 months, 24 months, we’ve got to chop it off.  I don’t understand why that is a good thing for this state.  But again, lawmakers resolving they’re going to take the money anyway, I’m dealing in that reality and making the best of that, if you will, and but another thing though, fat strings attached, the fattest string of all with accepting stimulus money is that like I said, we are part of the problem in growing our 11 trillion dollar national debt.  That is a problem.

But other more specific strings, if we take some energy funds, then our local communities have to adopt energy building codes.  We don’t want that mandated by the feds.  We want if you’re going to have a building code in your local community in Alaska for one, at least let that be locally driven, not federally mandated.

I refer you to a memo from Larry Persily, in Rep. Mike Hawker’s office:

The governor was incorrect to suggest or imply at last week’s announcement that Alaska ’s eligibility for home weatherization funds ($28.6 million) and Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants ($8.5 million) is dependent on adoption of a statewide building code. The state is fully eligible for both funds, regardless of any energy codes.

Two points:
· The energy-efficiency building standards apply ONLY to State Energy Program Funds ($28.56 million). The stimulus bill requires that within eight years of the act (by February 2017) the state adopt building codes for residential and commercial structures that meet or exceed international energy-efficiency standards. The standards must apply to 90 percent of new or renovated building space; not existing structures. The requirement deals with energy-efficiency standards, not a complete set of building codes.
· The energy-efficiency standards DO NOT apply to the weatherization funds or block grants. I confirmed that point Friday with the supervisor of the weatherization program at the U.S. Department of Energy and an attorney/adviser at the department’s headquarters in Washington , D.C.

You can read the rest of the “factual errors” that they needed to correct HERE.

And onward Alaskans go, on this political ride to nowhere.

In the January 19, 2009 edition of People Magazine they said that “not only has tiny Tripp moved in with mom Bristol but dad Levi is staying over, too.” If this were not true you know Palin would have been immediately on the phone with them refuting that. She did not. She is a compulsive LIAR. Everything she does these days is in print or on a video…..the proof is all there.

I watched the entire press conference yesterday and noticed the snarkiness, nostrils flaring and also, when pressed on tough questions she always handed them over to her background singers. She is CLUELESS.

State building codes for NEW construction are a really good idea. Especially for energy savings. Especially for Alaska.

Of course, the construction industry would be against them because of added costs, so ….so would Palin. Pennywise…pound foolish. No foresight.

As to the rest, the old joke “how can you tell if Palin is lying”…..watch her lips.

Poor Levi. He needs a really good lawyer. And he’ll also need to relocate to the lower 48. At least until Palin is out of public office and reasonably harmless.

I find the beginning of the interview very interesting. Sarah congratulating the host on his ratings. Because we know it’s *all* about ratings….and polls.

I’ll add to what another poster said comparing Palin to my Governor, Schwarzenegger.

I’m not an Arnold fan, but my governor would never call a radio host to score polling points or to set the record straight or anything else. My Governor was first to sign up for the stimulus and several billion are going to schools. If you want to compare a GOP governor getting the job done with Palin, use Schwarzenegger. I don’t agree with everything he’s done and he can be uncouth, but for professionalism he’s still so far above Palin you could get nosebleeds.

He’ll never be president. That’s a good thing. But perhaps because he’ll never be president, he is a bit more effective in his office and his focus is not on campaigning but on solving some of the state’s problems. Palin would pee her pants if she had to do his job. And the voters of California would eat her alive. As would the press.

I loved the TIME poll. 85% of people believe Levi is telling the truth. Wow. When the quote from People magazine is reprinted, Sarah will back track. Her stand will be that she doesn’t condone teenagers living together, but that this was a completely different scenario. Levi was only there to change diapers at night. She’ll have him camping in the back yard, only to be called in when Tripp needed a new diaper. Just you wait!
With this new relevation, coming from her Favorite Go-To source for press releases, I fear that People magazine will no longer feel the love from the Palin Camp.

She doesn’t agree with the stimulus package because she has no understanding of economics. If you are in a recession you should increase public sector spending to stimulate the economy and pull it out of the recessionary period. If you just keep the spending the same you are not doing anything to help. Here is where we always mess up: when the economy is in an expansion the government should run a surplus and that can be used to pay off the debt. GWB wasted the last surplus with tax breaks. Maybe I should send GINO a copy of Keynes General Theory although I doubt seriously she could understand it.

If AK approves WAR they can count on huge legal bills from their (WAR and SP) machinations. Alaska will get two years of insanity and if they approve him, then they deserve it. It isn’t as if this isn’t glaringly obvious.

” Their 40-0 vote came hours after Gov. Sarah Palin again asserted that the federal money would be a burden on the state.

House Finance Committee Co-chairman Mike Hawker, an Anchorage Republican, said he had similar concerns when the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was enacted by Congress in February. He arrived at a different conclusion after studying the measure.

Hawker said the benefits of investing the money into the Alaska economy, “doing it this year, doing it quickly and doing it soon,” outweighed any residual concerns.

“Over that time, I’ve sometimes begrudgingly and sometimes, quite frankly, slowly and reluctantly, acknowledged that the facts as they bore out did not support those earlier anxieties,” he said.”

“ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Back in November, Channel 2 News tagged along with Anchorage School District Superintendent Carol Comeau as she gave her home an energy audit and made upgrades to make the home more energy efficient.

After making the upgrades, four months later we took a look at the gas and electric bills to see how the effort paid off.

Energy consultant Andy Baker gathered the Comeaus’ energy bills since 2005 and compared them with the bills after the improvements.”

“So 2005 through 2008, their electric use per month, you see that each year is pretty similar so they have a pretty tight band of usages here and 2009 we see has dropped down here 36 percent,” Baker said.

The Comeaus have had 36 percent savings in electricity and 25 percent savings in natural gas.

“The first thing I noticed truly was how warmer the house was with all the insulation in the crawl space and also up in the bedroom with the attic,” Carol said.”

Republican politicians don’t need to understand economic principles-although they shouldn’t repeat McCain’s mistake of admitting as much-because of their blind faith in ‘the self-regulating free market’. The Government should have no role in the economy-except for giving huge tax cuts to the very wealthy.

The Keynesian principle of stimulus spending to avoid a catastrophe, can only lead (once the economy is back on track) to one result-increased taxes for the rich. It’s best then, to show some tough love-”stop whining about being unemployed, suck it up, and we’ll muddle through, somehow”.

Ironically, Palin’s “Government intervention” of 500 million dollars on the gas pipeline is a direct contradiction of free market orthodoxy!

He’s running a good and fair ship and everyone should show their appreciation.

Next, the stimulus….from what I know, the stimulus money ISN’T for building big government, it’s for putting people to work. While there may be some bump needed to accommodate inspectors and persons processing applications for weatherization (as they should), the money is going to contractors and individuals improving their living conditions, reducing their cost of living, reducing power needs, and improving their long-term commitment to stay in Alaska. I see this as a good thing.

Last, does she think that the stimulus money going to capital projects are free? Once we build something, don’t we have to operate it an maintain it? Roads don’t repave themselves (or clear their own snow), buildings don’t repaint themselves, and bridges have to be replaced on occasion. I know the State builds new things on occassion but much of the money requested from communities annually is to pay for deferred maintenance (fixing school roofs, replacing heaters, etc….) As the Gov, you’d think she’d know this. Paying attention to what’s going on isn’t what she does best unless its…….IS THAT A CAMERA? AM I ON? (Bumper sticker- SP; what’s your next job in 2010?)

Although I feel a little sorry for the guy, I’m not ready to join Team Levi. He deserves a fair opportunity to be a father to his son, and he’s in a tough position re. the whack-o Palin clan, but I’m remembering his remarks on his MySpace account, and I’m not thinking he’s such a prize.

I can’t believe she even brought up the Levi situation. (Looking for back issues of People Magazine; ah, here we go – )

    January 1, 2009
“Not only has tiny Tripp moved in with mom Bristol, but dad Levi Johnston has been staying over too.”

    March 2, 2009
“Since Tripp’s Dec. 27th birth, dad Levi Johnston has been living with the Palins.”

    March 30, 2009
“Once a part of the mix, living in the Palin’s five bedroom Wasilla home, Levi has now moved out.”

So this is three issues of People Magazine that GINO never saw fit to correct. And NOW, she is saying “over my dead body”?

I feel badly for her children. In years to come, they will be saying sadly, “Yes, my Mama was a crazy lady.”

Ok, so the Gino said last night that “for me, my argument about stimulus dollars has been why would we go out and hire a bunch of new government employees? Why would we grow these programs and grow the roles of beneficiaries if in 18 months, 24 months, we’ve got to chop it off. I don’t understand why that is a good thing for this state.”

Hello, what part of the highest unemployment rate in 30 years doesn’t she understand? Isn’t being employed for 18 – 24 months better than not being employed for 18-24 months? I get it that she doesn’t like the federal government telling AK which programs they can hire people for and how much federal funds can be returned to the state for which programs. So is it the skating ring that should not be paid for from Fed Funding? So, then why when she was Mayor did she hire a grantwriter to ask for Fed Funding for the rink? Or is it pipeline funding that she is going to be turn down now that AK is making so much on oil these days? Or maybe it’s just special ed funding that will only teach special needs kids for two years, so it would be better not to teach them anything at all? Or Nurses training that would only pay for their education for two years, so why train them at all either, I suppose no nurses training is better than two years training. Shall I go on?

For me, this is what’s frightening: I believe this woman is a textbook pathological liar. I believe her ego is so immense, she creates her own reality and then could pass a lie detector test because she honestly believes it’s the truth. What is essentially terrifying is that she is the Governor of Alaska. And that she thinks (remember: pathological ego here) that she can be President of the United States. God help us all.

    re: Stimulus

Way back, when she first said she was going to reject some of the funds because they would ‘grow government,’ I thought back to the days when I worked for the state (not Alaska) in a budgeting position.

When we learned of a new grant available, we’d look for items in our general budget that might fit into the grant, and reduce the general budget accordingly. Of course, you wouldn’t do this for most staff positions (but could take a portion of them), but we took advantage of it for travel, training, special projects and many day-to-day purchases.

From day one when she announced her objection, I thought “duh, just re-work your budget, silly.” NOW, after all of this back-and-forth grandstanding, she finally figures out that this just might work? Doesn’t she have any decent budget advisors?

Bristol Palin’s Baby Proves a Handful for Young Parents
Originally posted Wednesday February 18, 2009 09:30 AM EST http://www.people.com

Little Tripp Johnston has been described as a “bundle of joy” by his grandmother, Sarah Palin, while his mother, Bristol Palin, told FOX News this week that she loves “just seeing him smile and stuff. It’s awesome.”

But like many babies, Tripp – who was born Dec. 27 – can be a handful. Often, he’s up half the night, Bristol, 18, told FOX, and like millions of babies across America, he keeps his parents awake.

“Tripp’s a little fussy,” a Palin family friend tells PEOPLE.

Bristol – now living at her parents’ house in Wasilla, Alaska – has plenty of help. Sister Piper Palin, 7, pitches in, fetching diapers and making bottles. Bristol said her parents and aunts also assist, and Bristol’s maternal grandmother, Sally Heath, lives nearby and baby-sits.

But the new mom’s biggest assist comes from her “hands-on” fiancé, Levi Johnston, 18, the former high school hockey player now working as an apprentice electrician.

“He has been staying at [the Palins' home] a lot with Bristol and helping her out,” a pal of Levi’s tells PEOPLE. “He really likes being a father.”

    Levi Lives with Palins

Last year, when Bristol was pregnant, she and Levi would go out on dinner and movie dates, and Levi would bring her flowers, according to Trailblazer: An Intimate Biography of Sarah Palin, by PEOPLE assistant editor Lorenzo Benet.

Then, in the first week after Tripp’s birth, Levi moved in with the Palins, Levi’s mother, Sherry Johnston, told PEOPLE in January. He immersed himself in childcare duties and bought his son a miniature hockey stick.

I have such a hard time following SP’s reasoning. Isn’t the stimulus money intended to be spent as well as state money? She complains of the state having to step in in a couple of years to fund these programs. Well, if she withholds state money for these projects and uses the stim money instead, isn’t this a selffulling prophecy? So, in 2 years when the state has to start using it’s own money again, she can claim an “I told you so”. She makes my head hurt.

Where are the new jobs, the new projects? She’ll just be spending federal dollars and banking AK’s money. I don’t see any potential for growth in that concept.

But maybe along with the legislature, I, too, will see the light.

Every time SP opens her mouth, she just confirms what we all suspected last fall. The woman is not capable of putting together a coherent sentence, not capable of reasonable logical thought, and she’s nuts. In the first part of the interview, I was struck by the word salad from both sides – and while it’s confusing to the rest of us, they seemed to understand each other perfectly. Takes one to know one.

Thanks, AKM, for keeping us up to date. And thanks to those who included the references to the articles that back up Levi’s claim. I’m sure that SP doesn’t want to admit that she allowed any such thing, because her solid right wingnut base really would not approve. But she would have done better to just keep her mouth shut – it would have died down on its own. Oh wait – keeping her mouth shut is something with which she needs help. Please, somebody, step forward and help her achieve at least one of her goals – the only one that makes sense.

    On W.A.R.:
If he’s so great, why didn’t Palin appoint him instead of Colberg when she first entered office? W.A.R. is too divisive and opinionated in his beliefs. I don’t care if he says he’ll be impartial; it’s just lip service to get the job. I don’t like the way he spoke down to Donny Olson; it was disrespectful and rude.

On Levi: I believe this kid, before I’ll believe what Palin has said in response to his interviews. What does he have to gain by going on Tyra Banks and CBS to tell his side? Wasn’t paid; just wanted to set the record straight. When the news broke about Bristol’s pregnancy and the ‘engagement,’ I strongly suspected it was all damage control and a ‘shot-gun engagement.’ Since he’s spoken out, I’m sure he knows he will now face Palin’s wrath and vengeance–and we all know what that’s like: i.e. Wooten and Troopergate.

It’s embarrassing that we have a governor who has People Magazine on speed dial to respond to bad press. What other governor in the other 49 States has been in People magazine as many times as ours to refute things said about them or their family? And she complains about the media raking her and her family over the coals? If she’d take the high road and not knee-jerk respond thru this magazine, she’d garner more respect.

    On Juneau Senate Seat:
Juneau voters re-elected Beth Kerttula with over 80% of the votes. That speaks volumes for Juneau voters; why her name was the only name initially submitted. We want WHO WE WANT. Nobody from Juneau was able to vote to select/reject Grussendorf or Nelson–WE DON’T HAVE A SENATOR! Juneau voters e-mailed the 9 Democrat Senators and asked that they reject Palin’s appointment. I thank the Democrat Senators for not capitulating and appointing either one. It would have set a dangerous precedent.

Everything Palin does is to stay in the national news, to keep her name out there for 2012. I don’t know who the heck is advising her; but theyre not doing a good job. I guess they/she figures even bad press is still Press. Everything she’s done since losing the Presidential/VP election has only accomplished digging a deeper grave–all the way to China. Guess pretty soon she can say she sees China from her doorway.

  121. 122

The beginning of the interview reminds me of this exchange in DOCTOR STRANGELOVE:
“Hello? Hello, Dimitri? ……. Clear and plain and coming through fine. I’m coming through fine too, eh? Good, then. Well then as you say we’re both coming through fine. Good. Well it’s good that you’re fine and I’m fine. I agree with you. It’s great to be fine. “

Amazingly, Palin is still oblivious to the fact that her statements can be immediately tracked via previous media interviews – as in her comments about Levi living at her home. It will interesting to see her try and spin that one ….

Palin is clearly becoming more paranoid and hostile as she is confronted with her own words. It is almost painful to watch.

I just read in the ADN that Palin says she can accept the stimulus pkg if she can cut the state budget education allocation and replace that with Federal money.
