Ohhh, the Wheels on the Bus Go……..thud.
OK, kids! Warm up your TV sets. Shannyn Moore will be on Countdown tonight with David Schuster who is sitting in for Keith Olbermann. So grab a beer, or some sparkling cider, or a box of marshmallow peeps, get comfy and hear how the wheels are coming off the Sarah Palin bus. The good news is that it’s harder to throw people under there if there are no wheels on it.
Seems like the latest gubernatorial hypersensitivity has to do with the fact that the governor is leaving the state to speak at a Right to Life Banquet during the last week of the legislative session. You know….the week when everything happens.
I hear reports periodically about how the legislators are dealing with the absentee governor. And when I say “absentee”, I don’t just mean that she’s not in Juneau. Reports are that even when she’s in Juneau, she’s become increasingly difficult to find. But when I hear these reports, which are usually quite descriptive, I picture a little animated movie in my mind of various legislators pulling out clumps of their own hair, running around in tiny circles waving sheaves of papers in the air, and just sitting behind their desks clenching their teeth so hard that their faces flush and their eyes get bloodshot and little veins start throbbing in their necks.
Mike and Tim Bradner report in their Legislative Digest that an aide to House Speaker Mike Chenault (R) had printed details on her scheduled trip to Indiana, the act of which apparently unhinged the governor. She then committed a “terrible breach of respect” by yelling at and “forcefully scolding” the aide. “This lack of decorum has never happened before,” say the Bradners, who have been tracking legislative matters longer than anyone in Alaska. And yet again, the governor’s behavior becomes the topic of conversations whispered behind hands in the state capital.
Yikes.
Perhaps the governor had hoped to slip out the back door in the dead of night and attend this conference on the other side of the continent without being noticed?
In addition to the kerfuffle on the Republican side, the Democratic Party had a press availability today in which they chastised the Governor for playing hookie during the critical final week of the session.
Patti Higgins, Chair of the Alaska Democratic Party, said at a news conference today that by choosing to be out of state during the closing days of the legislative session, “Governor Palin is again putting her national political ambitions ahead of the needs of Alaskans and her responsibilities as Governor.”
“With the economy in recession, with Alaska’s unemployment rate over 9 percent, and with these important bills pending that affect our economy and people’s lives, where is Sarah Palin? She’s half way across the country at a Right to Life event. Alaska needs a full-time Governor who is focused on the needs of Alaskans. We call on Gov. Palin to stay in Juneau and work with the legislators,” Higgins said.
Now, we’ve seen this happen again and again. Palin schedules an event (GOP Winter Retreat, CPAC Conference, GOP House/Senate Fundraising Banquet) and then gets all kinds of heat for skipping out on work. Then she panics and backtracks.
“I can’t come, I have important business at home” was used for the GOP retreat. Of course, she was actually down the road at the Alfalfa Club Dinner in DC…but we won’t quibble.
“I never really committed to it, and I have work to do in Alaska” was used for the CPAC conference. Of course, the organizer of the conference said she had committed, and she was on the calendar, and people bought expensive tickets because they thought she’d be there…
“I never said I would. I’ll let you know what I decide after the Legislative Session is over” is what she told the banquet organizers, who said, “Whatever. We’ve invited Newt Gingrich.”
And now this. What will she do? She’s sold out 2,180 tickets to the event, with another 2,500 overflow tickets available in the adjacent auditorium, where organizers say she’ll make an appearance.
What do you think?

WOW, just WOW!
When do we get to throw HER under the bus??
Better watch out, AKM, you might p*ss her off, too. She might yell at you.
I think she’ll fold and cancel the Indiana trip. Maybe she’ll send Todd as her stand-in. But then she’ll need to release a press release condemming the “liberal media” and the “do-nothing legislature” and maybe she’ll toss in another tirade against Levi while she’s at all.
me??
Any further word on Mr. Ross’ confirmation prospects? (It’s terrible to have to go to work on a Monday and tear myself away from my AK peeps.)
It’s not as if having her here is going to help Alaskans any…
maybe they will issue an APB
A side note relating to problem governors. This one’s hung up on a problem governor in Minnesota.
“Over five months after the election, a three-judge panel has declared Democrat Al Franken the winner of the Minnesota U.S. Senate race. The judges issued their final ruling late Monday, stating “Franken received the highest number of lawfully cast ballots in the Nov. 4, 2008 general election.” They also have determined that Franken is entitled to receive the certificate of election.”
Isn’t it fascinating that we know more about Sarah Palin’s views on her daughter’s sex life and baby daddy than we do about her final stand on the federal stimulus package? I’m tired of the circus sideshow, Gov. If ya can’t separate your personal life and VIEWS (right to life) from your official duties, step aside and we’ll find someone who can actually do the job.
I am going to repost my last comment on this new thread.
I sure do hope that during tomorrow’s demonstration in Juneau regarding WAR’s nomination, that we will see some “Impeach Palin” signs.
I will put one up in my yard, if you will put one up in your yard. Any takers?
Anyone who wants to send pictures, or a writeup of the event, please send to akmuckraker(at)yahoo(dot)com!
Thanks! AKM
@crabbypat: I agree, she will definitely do another flip-flop.
Yep! Yep! You betcha!!
Yoo, hoo, Legislators. You’re in charge now. Please act in the best interest of your constituents. Take the money. Help out foster kids. Reject W.A.R. Support Kerttula.
Looking forward to catching Shannyn tomorrow. I wonder what she will say!!
I do think Palin is losing it at this stage…it is fairly obvious now that she is not attending the legislative sessions, because she is so much out of her depth. She is a liar and a fraud and I hope even she will begin to realise that her time is up. I think WAR was the nail in the coffin.
My predictions: She will go – the bible-thumpers and right-to-lifers make up her base.
WAR will NOT be confirmed, and that news will leak by tomorrow.
She will NOT run for re-election as Gov.
AKM– thanks for letting us know about Shannyn being on Countdown. When KO has the night off I usually change the channel. Glad I won’t miss her!
@Ripley–Nice to see you’re still chiming in while on vaca. Big hellos from CT to you in FL and feel free to have a Stoli and tonic for me. We hit a whopping 59 degrees today but it’s been so danged windy it felt like 40.
If she has nothing to wear for this event…. she could always ‘ recycle’ and wear the Artic Cat gear for the 2nd time…?
(at least it would make WAR Happy)
She tried to imply to us or give the impression that this was part of her daily wardrobe (just something in her closet)
Juneau poll is heating up. We’re backsliding.
http://juneauempire.com
I think she will still go. This has been scheduled for a long time, and being a “right to life’ event it will not be seen as negatively as if she were going to a Republican event.
She wins no matter what the legislators do on the stimulus, since she already turned it down and then invited them to overrule her (pretty please!). If the money is spent, she avoids tough budget decisions, so she really really hopes they will take it!
Her presence won’t affect the WAR issue anyway. If he is voted down, she will blame the recalcitrant Dems and the PJ clad bloggers and blithely go searching for another hateful racist patriarchal Neanderthal to nominate as AG.
Me?, I think she is completely p*ssed off with Alaska and Alaskan politics, and she just wants to get on with being all important and everything on the National stage. I think she is dementedly oblivious to the utter contempt most right minded people have for her. The Palinbots think the Dems are really afraid of her (clueless, dumb Freaks).
She has painted herself into a corner with the wrangling of seating a Dem and the nomination of that piece of work WAR, probably egged on by that other dumb freak the Dud, and doesn’t know what to do next apart from shouting at some poor hapless aide.
I think that’s it for now.
@honestyinGov,
lol.
I don’t know what sarah’s whiney , dopey , crying is all about. All a person has to do is google “palin and steele in Indiana” and you can pick the reference………

Speaking of the Arctic Cat logo outfit…
Does she get paid for every time someone clicks their mouse on the picture at the Alaska Governor official State Website???
Is the fine for the ethics violation also ratcheting up each day at the same time?
Did she not understand the term ‘walking billboard’?

Excellent.
Didn’t she say something to the effect that she was commander of the state guard?
She’s AWOL send out the MP’s.
Tom Delay sent out Homeland Defense to find a bunch of Texas legislators who wanted to kill a bill by denying a quorum.
Call Homeland Defense and say your governor is missing in action.
I read a quote from Meg Stapletongue stating that they are planning for her to attend a meeting in Chicago regarding oil and gas before the Indiana stint. So, what would that be about? Maybe it’s the real reason she is going and the right to life dinner is a cover. Palin is snaky like that. Why can’t we impeach her?
Irishgirl–Shannyn is on KO tonight!
I too am going to re-post my last comment. I think it would be preferable for the Vanderburgh Right to Life Group uninvite SP to their fundraiser, so I have emailed a Ms. VanDyke with the group asking her to look into some of SP’s positions and behaviors (and appointments, such as WAR and what he espouses).

Another note to that MN Senate race. Huffpo posted a story saying 1 of of 5 Judges on the State Supreme Court that are supposed to hear the case…One of them, (Justice Christopher J. Dietzen) actually made 2 campaign contributions to Coleman…. Whaaaa..? (no bias there)

I think she’ll go to Indiana. Alaska just gives her bad press lately and Indiana is more in line with future plans. Those people are her base if she ever runs nationally. They are her C4P supporters, etc. No one else seems to like her these days.
Wheels…..don’t need ‘em……..

Sarah will leave the state for the Right to Life gig.
It’s perfect timing for her. She doesn’t have to watch WAR
get bludgeoned and Alaska is getting kind of–errrr, too warm
for her own good.
@ jwa “When do we get to throw HER under the bus??”
I think she is throwing herself under the bus. Here’s hoping she does it before all the wheels fall off.
Remember, you can always watch Keith and Rachel on msnbc.com. I always watch the day after via the intertubes.
I voted that Palin will not go and blame the Dems, but now, I am wavering. If she is so delusional as to nominate Ross for AG and not appoint one of the four Democrats suggested for Juneau senator, then she may just go to Indiana, AK be d*mned.
As for MN, if Norm cared about his state at all, he would concede right now. Even some Republicans are asking him to step down. Can you imagine what would have happened if Gore had dragged out the 2000 election the way Coleman is doing so now? Gore would have been crucified. It’s not exactly the same, but Norm is depriving MN of our full senatorial representation.
I am mad at him–him and his fang teeth.
OT, but newest possibility for a Senator for the Capital: http://www.juneaublogger.com/updates/?p=1377
I say……If you don’t impeach her you should at least not re-elect her.
And WAR’s confirmation should be….denied.

Note to AKM….
We loved all your stories over the weekend. Even though the Easter Holiday is now over… I thought you might have given us a little story about how Alaskans celebrate Easter. Do Alaskan kids hunt Easter eggs…?
(just curious) Cute story for later…..?
Palin comes across as more and more unstable every day. There is no way she’ll ever hold a national office of any sort. If she doesn’t show for the Right-2-Lifers, though, there is nothing left for her. Dems and Indies don’t like her. Moderate GOPers have had enough. It’s only the Right-2-Lifers left, and/or the racists.
I predict Palin will go (AK job requirements be damned!).But some folks there will confront her with her “inconsistencies” related to Levi in the house, Bristol saying abstinence isn’t realistic, appointing a pro-choice judge, and W.A.R. saying that married women can be raped by their husbands…
QUESTION FOR ANYONE READING THIS….One thing I wish someone would look into: how much $$ is Palin making from running for a national office? How much $$ does Palin herself make from SarahPAC? I think she thinks it as a “for profit” venture, like opening a retail store and she is the product in the window.
I guess I should have read the whole article before I voted.
Unless of course I’m right, and everyone else is wrong.

Coleman suffered a legal setback Monday.
ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) — A three-judge panel ruled Monday against Republican Norm Coleman in his dispute with Democrat Al Franken over who should be declared the winner of the U.S. Senate race in Minnesota.
The judges determined that “Franken is entitled to receive the certificate of election” after defeating Coleman by 312 votes.
Coleman has 10 days to appeal the 68-page ruling to the state Supreme Court.

SP & NC seem to be in the “blind” world of the lost…and I don’ mean of the ABC show type!
Below is my favorite quote from the Shannyn Moore article at Huffington Post:
Palin’s personal pit bull, Meg Stapleton, said the governor will be taking a “36-hour vacation” to attend the events in Indiana. Meg is paid to lie and earns every dime.
My faith in GINO will be terribly shaken if she fails to go to Evansville, IN for the Right-To-Life Dinner.
Applauding crowds, chanting Sa-rah! Sa-rah! Sa-rah! is just like a drug to this woman. She just drinks in all that energy.
Since her defeat in November, she has looked increasing haggard. Is this due to the loss of expert makeup and hairstyle professionals, or withdrawal symptoms?
Well, OK, probably both, that and having to “work” for a living, but my personal opinion is that wild horses couldn’t drag her away from this event.

Too Funny!
GINO has to go to Indiana. The GOP won the state by a razor thin margin in 2008. GINO wants to solidify and engage the base, build a relationship with them in order to position Indiana as a 2012 solid red state as early as possible. She may seem completely out of focus, but I do doubt that she can do everything wrong.
Its kind of strange for GINO to assume that we Alaskans don’t mind her scampering off to these out of states functions. ” Just for one day, she declared”.
She hides out for most of the legislator’s session, and then takes off for a PRO LIFE dinner, and a down syndrome event at the closing of this session . Thanks but no thanks GINO! Alaska needs a GOV. that will put are issues first. I think I’m going crazy myself, for I remember GINO stating something about putting Alaska first.
Health Care for all Alaskans baby! Is that too much for you to comprehend GINO? GO on your trip POSER! Your kind of a joke trying to lead the state of Alaska any way. Just note that your state needs you now, and you leave us without a captain at the helm…..
It’s a sad state of affairs when the captain abandons the ship before orders are given to the crew….. I here that rocky shore ahead……. port or starboard PARNELL????? what’s that…. your not allowed to make a decision without kissing GINO’s A**.

She’ll fold, stay in AK and send Brisotl. After all,she too did not abort. Ok, she also got the baby by NOT having sex. Only the second time in history for that feat! But Bristol will go and cut her GOP teeth, and be the hit of the party because….wait for it…she did not abort!

Others (out of state) may choose to do what I am going to do tonight.
I am going to use the Legs list an email them. They think they can get off scott- free by just voting Yes… or No. They can’t hide.
My message to them will be that if they vote ‘yes’…then they will have embarrassed ‘themselves’, and all Alaskans, in the eyes of America. All of America has seen WAR for who he is and his ‘qualifications’ (none). I am going to paste the comments (from America) from the Huffpo threads and ask if THIS is the image they want America to see and represent ‘ them’.
Question
? I assume I can CC all of them in the same email. That way they know their fellow Legs will know the others are watching each other.

Spanish prosecutors have decided to press forward with a criminal investigation targeting former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and five top associates over their role in the torture of five Spanish citizens held at Guantánamo, several reliable sources close to the investigation have told The Daily Beast. Their decision is expected to be announced on Tuesday before the Spanish central criminal court, the Audencia Nacional, in Madrid. “Mrs Palin’s Kinda Guy”
Mudflats has some great new reporting on Sarah Palin’s nomination to be Alaska’s attorney general. It all has something to do with lima beans, homosexuals, and how hot the governor looks in a sponsored jacket. I think. And this Ross classic, on the Exxon Valdez spill:
‘We see almost every day, the same films of what appears to be the same oil-soaked duck pulled out of the water. The state claims to have a number of refrigerated vans filled with about 30,000 carcasses of waterfowl killed by oil. No doubt some of these birds were casualties of oil. But had several thousand people combed Prince William Sound for dead waterfowl any prior summer, as they did in the summer of 1988 [sic], there is no doubt that an equal number of dead birds could have been accumulated.’
ummm kinda think GINO is losing it!! LMAO
Forever Anonymous – I guess I am beating a dead horse since people keep asking but no one responds to me. Just trying to help. Anyway, please read my comment #72 above. The people can recall, the legislature can impeach. I believe the people can also request the leg to impeach. Read the link I posted, send email and give grounds as to why you want Palin impeached if you can’t get anyone else to support a recall. The leg can’t/won’t help until enough people demand impeachment. It certainly can’t hurt. The people really do have the power here if they act on it. The link again is:

AKM – input? Am I steering people wrong? Trying to help.
I just had an epiphany…a new career path for palin. Forgive me if this has already been presented, but she should give up politics (in a sense) and become a full-fledged minister, pastor, priestess (whatever you want to label this). She can still spew her beliefs, but at least it will be in the appropriate venue of a church and her congregation will WANT to hear her words of debatable wisdom. She can make the rules and break the rules, as she wishes. She can make her fortune and continue to do things, such as tax evasion, getting her non-profit freak on, obtain buildings, and other ‘gates’, and most of all, power. And it’s all legal (???). She can become world renowned, have her own followers, make her own kool-aid. It’s PERFECT!!!! What do ya think? It’ s what she trying to do anyway, isn’t it?
I think she also would want everyone to follow her, not just those who do it willingly. I’m not eager for anyone to tell me how to believe, frankly.
and Michigander – I think you’re right re impeachment vs recall. Within the last 4 or 5 yrs in Missouri, there was an obscenely inept mayor who was recalled. It didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen, and within a year of her taking office. I understand that case is now part of law classes across the country. Embarrassing for the town, but at least that mayor is no longer creating havoc.
@michigander
I believe you are correct. My observation is that most anti-palin Alaskans are waiting for a consensus…waiting doesn’t get the job done however.

Gubernatorial removal
There are two methods available to remove a governor before the expiration of the gubernatorial term of office.
[edit] Impeachment and removal by the legislature
The governor can be impeached for “misconduct in office” by the State Assembly and removed by a two-thirds vote of the State Senate.
[edit] Recall by the voters
Petitions signed by California voters equal in number to 12% of the last vote for the office of governor (with signatures from each of 5 counties equal in number to 1% of the last vote for governor in the county) can launch a gubernatorial recall election. The voters can then vote on whether or not to recall the incumbent governor, and on the same ballot, they can vote a potential replacement. If a majority of the voters in the election vote to recall the governor, then the person who gains a plurality of the votes in the replacement race will become governor.
Main article: 2003 California recall
The 2003 California recall began with a petition drive that successfully forced sitting Democratic Governor Gray Davis into a special recall election. It marked the first time in California’s history that a governor faced a recall election. He was subsequently voted out of office, becoming just the second governor in U.S. history to be recalled. He was replaced by Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger
Ok, Meg Stapelton says Palin will only be gone for three days….I just watched Palin snippety retort……”I will only be gone one day.” How does that work? fly to Indiana, do a dinner, do a breakfast and get back…all in 24 hours? Riiiiiighhhhhht! Let’s time her, OK? ;0) Tardy!
Boo Boo, Palin did look really irritated, didn’t she. It’s so clear that she is NOT having fun now that she is being called out on everything!
I agree with Lainey….palin could make it very big as a preacher and should go in that direction.
Got to say was glad to see the picture of impeach Palin because my family members said they saw it and when I mentioned it at ADN some person attacked me about it and said it was all in my house or mind LOL
michigander @ 87- I am questioning if there is time to proceed with impeachment given the time she has left in office. I also question the signs coming prior to a recall, if coming from the people outcry, wouldn’t a recall be the way to go?
Please don’t get me wrong, I do want to see her go.
The republican majority legislature will never impeach her. We the people on the other hand, can recall.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE No. 09-82
Political Adversaries Allow Politics to Cloud Judgment in Final Week
April 13, 2009, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin will attend the Vanderburgh County Right to Life dinner in Evansville, Indiana on Thursday as well as a breakfast the next morning for S.M.I.L.E., a nonprofit organization for families with members who have Down Syndrome. Governor Palin had previously personally informed the legislative leadership of her upcoming event and asked if legislators had any problem with her attendance at an event outside the Capitol building. None expressed concerns.
And this event doesn’t cost the state a dime – the governor has no staff, not even state security, with her, though her predecessors did travel with state security even on vacations.
This morning the Alaska Democrat Party held a press conference suddenly expressing concern about the governor’s well-publicized short absence from Juneau.
“It is nothing more than a politically charged shot in the dark,” said Governor Palin’s chief of staff, Mike Nizich. “We view the legislative session as a very serious state issue. This isn’t politics for us; this is Alaska’s future. I have worked for seven governors. Every governor has traveled during the legislative session. Had this group done its homework, they would have realized that Governor Palin has had numerous meetings with lawmakers this session and has been in constant communication with them.
“During the final week of session, legislators rarely want governors around stirring things up,” Nizich said. “We did not anticipate that the governor’s political opponents would want their hands held in the final hours of the session.”
Thus far during the 26th Alaska Legislature, Governor Palin has laid out a forward-looking agenda, including initiatives and bills to progress such issues as an in-state natural gas pipeline and a consolidation plan for Railbelt utilities. She also has focused on reducing state spending and providing assistance to cash-poor villages in Western Alaska that are facing high energy costs. The governor has made her spending priorities clear, including the use of federal stimulus dollars.
A historical review shows that Governor Palin has spent the vast majority of time working in Juneau during the legislative session especially when compared with other governors. Governor Knowles traveled an average of 38 days during session and Governor Murkowski traveled an average of 45 days during session. Governor Palin has only been out of Juneau 14 days as she worked in other communities around Alaska this session. Governor Palin has spent only two days out of state.

Maybe Palin is becoming Elmer Gantry…
Like I’ve written before, Sarah Palin sure has a nice sweet No Show job!
The legislature ought to just do whatever they want to do. This isn’t the first time Palin has checked out of Juneau when the going gets tough. She puts a different spin to that old sports cliche – in her case, when the going gets tough, Sarah Palin gets.
No need to diss poor old Elmer like that you old geezer.
The plot of Elmer Gantry by Sinclair Lewis:
The novel tells the story of a young, narcissistic, womanizing college athlete who, upon realizing the power, prestige, and easy money that being a fundamentalist evangelist can bring, pursues his “religious” ambitions with relish, contributing to the downfall, even death, of key people around him as the years pass. Gantry continues to womanize, is often exposed as a fraud, and frequently faces a complete downfall, yet he is never fully discredited and always manages to emerge triumphant and reaching ever greater heights of social standing… (From Wikipedia)
Michigander… is gross stupidity an impeachable offense? Prolly not. Nor is being a stinkypants. There’s got to be justification for impeachment. Let’s not lower the bar just because most of us have a great distaste for and/or dislike for Palin.

HUH? …so you believe that no ‘misconduct in office’ by the governor of Alaska has occurred?
Of course, the Queen MUST go to Indiana. She needs to be stroked again. She is finding everyone here including her own Republicans, just can’t stand her, have lost any shred of respect , and are outraged at this ridiculous display of incompetence, negligence and a pathetic excuse of a Governor. We need to recall her….I don’t the Legislature will have the balls to do it. Time for another rally so we can all get together.
Lainey – saying there is misconduct and proving same are two very different things. That’s why I keep hoping a caring Alaskan will file supportable complaints to the IRS, DOJ and FBI… without actual evidence of misconduct (whatever that might be), there can be no impeachment.
Lori in Los Angeles: GINO DOES have her own radio show – did anyone know this…
Lots of REPEAT programming…just like GiNO
She’s definitely going to go to Indiana. Too much star power there for her not to go.
Wasn’t this the trip where they were going to be in Meg Mouthpiece’s home town?
That stupid press release on the gov website — only gone two days during this session … hey, did they forget how many days she was gone last year and governing by blackberry? Her sense of responsibility and priority is totally nil.
——-
Interesting that former Juneau major Egan has agreed to be a candidate for Elton’s spot. Sounds like he has mucho support, including Kerttula. I still wish they’d stick with Kerttula, though — both on principle and the fact that she was their unanimous choice!
sauerkraut – I agree that just saying it, isn’t enough, but wasn’t there already proof against palin for unethical behavior and abuse of power?

It will be fun if she goes to Indiana. Her footinmouth will kick in and we down in the lower 49 can get a good laugh.
sauercraut, I am just trying to help. I don’t know where you got stinkypants or stupidity from anything I have ever said. Did you read the link? I am talking about public Recall. Here is part of the law:
Sec. 29.26.250. Grounds for recall.
Grounds for recall. Grounds for recall are misconduct in office, incompetence, or failure to perform prescribed duties. (§ 9 ch 74 SLA 1985)
All three allegations can be stated easily with her own record and behaviour. Getting the petition started takes some work. I’ve organized one in my tiny hometown, got 1000 sigs and won. We had petition sheets at the gas station, local bar and the fire department. I realize this is a bigger venture but come on, do you want to make a difference or not?
Can someone just ask her….Why is the Right to LIfe event MORE important than your own State? She is just pathetic.
Just read on the Daily Beast where Scarah’s S/L was indicted for Burg..& Trespassing…Yikesssssss..To be continued!! ROTF
Trying to catch up. The Public can Recall, the legislature can Impeach. The result is the same. Please read the link or research yourselves. Google ‘alaska law recall’ and or ‘alaska law impeach’.
I am not trying to upset anyone, trying to help and encourage.
Thank the universe, count our lucky start, cause we can’t get much luciker than this!!!…GiNO is going to go to Indiana…for the RIGHT TO LIE Meeting…perfect, all the lies & story tellers in one place…Fairly Tales galore!
I bet Fi’xxx’ed Knews has already set up their remotes. ..I don’t watch ‘em – but I do get a good laff when others share. Just mention her name & they will be drooling all over their mics & teleprompters…

Look out for a big pile [of lies] from her
RNC ManTOY, Mr. Steel is kinda going along for the ride cause he dosen’t know any better…he & GiNO will try to out shine one another with who can tell the BEST LIE…I guess he once HAD hopes of higher office….[DL Hughley told Steel that he was a token - that he was ONLY picked by the GOP because Obama won - otherwise we are suppose to believe that the RepParty is NOW progressive???]
Palin’s press release http://www.gov.state.ak.us/news.php?id=1747
I am confused over how days are counted. Are weekend days counted? Her spokesperson says she has only been out of Juneau , I think, 14 days. Is that 14 work days plus weekends, or including weekends? C4P and some comments on ADN refer to the legislators taking a 10 day junket, but I don’t remember it being that long, and I do remember it was for an energy conference. Could have been a week long, but they included weekends.
Honestly, I don’t think people would be that upset about her going if she hadn’t made such a big deal about previous trips/non-trips, invites and cancellations. It is her hypocrisy that so many object to. She gets way too sidetracked by the drama, and if it isn’t there, I swear she is out there trying to create it. Very unbecoming of the “provocative one. “

Sometimes I think we object to palin more than Alaska does…since we were exposed to this unbelievable, unqualified, un-everything candidate thrust upon us…we didn’t vote for her!
I am going to vote same as Lori in LA. The last time we had one of these, she was right. Nonetheless, I’m hoping for a big, public melt down, so melty that even SPee’s craziest of supporters drop her like a hot potato.
If she went into preaching, she’d be like the crazy one in the end of the movie, There Will Be Blood.
Hi Mudflaters.
I have a little story I would like to tell.
This evening I had a meeting with our local School Community Committee, which is REAA, for local board where I serve as a board member.
We have these meetings once a month and they are very casual but professional.
We have a three member board and the meeting is also attended by the school secretary and our principal. We have a community member who sits on the regional board and she attended tonight as well. No other community members came this evening though it is an open meeting.
Well the meeting was going along fine and dandy until we got to the report about the school graduation ceremony. Our Principal (first year from out of state but great) stated that the invited guest speaker has not responded to the invitation as of yet and the principal was not sure how to proceed.
Sooooo as the board members sat quietly waiting to hear who the guest was as the other 3 people already knew. A personal friend delivered the invitation and felt strongly that this person would come explained the principal. Then the bomb hit. The principal with a big smile on her face says we invited, YOU GUESSED IT! S.P. Involuntarily I blurt loudly OH GOD NO!
I and hit my head on the table. One person in the room gave me a dirty look, 2 people just looked shocked at me, and I got a sort of bewildered look from one of the board members, who you can tell had about thirty different things going through his head. Being that he is the father of our only graduating student, and is also tribal chief for the local native village council, and husband to the other teacher we have in our small school. Then the other board member looked straight at me and gave me just a shxt eating grin!
When I quit choking and we attempted to discuss weather GINO would show up let alone respond to the invitation. We were assured that the personal friend of Gino who handled the invitation (Click Bishop) would follow through. Of course I can no longer hold my laughter and think that there were a few people out there who would not trust a RSVP from any representative of GINO. So as I try to maintain some professional decorum we continue on with what to do. A few choices were kicked around including the first rude dude with me again guffawing and choking.
Of course we advised that we would need a response from Gino before we could invite someone else. I recommended that another invitation be sent to her office and request an answer by such and such a date and if we receive no response at that time we were to assume that our invitation would be declined. Which all agreed to then we discussed replacements and concluded with the rest of our meeting. At one time the school secretary grabbed the pen from my hand and said I was annoying her because I was violently clicking it.
After the meeting as I was getting ready to leave I mentioned to the secretary that I really hoped that Gino does not come here because I would hate to interrupt my protest out in front of the school to honor my board duties. The secretary was shocked “Why would you do that” she exclaimed.
I, knowing she knows full well my feelings about Gino said “DA” I don’t have enough fingers to count off the reasons but if you want to sit down for an hour…
“But we invited her” the secretary exclaimed with a panicked look on her face (she knows I mean it). My reply “Well I didn’t”. So we chatted for another minute and I hurried home. I was barley in the door when my phone rang. It was our principal wanting to explain to me why Gino was chosen and how the whole thing came about. And was concerned because she thought everybody liked Gino. She explained that being from out of state and with no TV signal available to her in teacher housing she just did not keep up with Alaska politics. I explained to her that I had spent the morning writing letters to our legislators requesting they not confirm Gino’s choice for AG and gave some background among other complaints.
I then told her if she wanted to get better up to date go to the mudflats for some great reading.
I told her on the off chance that GINO did show up that I would picket on the road to the school. She said good for you.
Anyway I thought some of you would enjoy hearing this. Living so far out in a small community I never much get to see any of our representatives, and this one in particular I feel rather strongly about.
The graduation is May 15th. I won’t hold my breath.
“Every governor has traveled during the legislative session. Had this group done its homework, they would have realized that ””Governor Palin has had numerous meetings with lawmakers this session”” and ””has been in constant communication”” with them.”

Forever Anonymous, empish, Nan and I’m not sure who else on other pages – Yes I think Recall is the best/quickest way to go. I don’t want to pretend to know it all – I surely don’t! I do know Palin has over 1 1/2 years in office as Gov and you have enough time to squish her out. Even the attempt to do so will blemish her forever. More so than any family crap as disgusting as it may be. Signs reading ‘recall’ should join ‘impeach’ IMHO.
Again, it is up to the people to ‘Recall’, the legislature ‘Impeaches’. Rules are different, results the same.
I love you mudpups – watching Olberman repeat now. Waiting for Shannyn 1:19 (o:
Wow. I am watching Countdown, and boy, does Palin look haggard. She also looks like she’s mailing it in. “The lawmakers and I have a very good relationship.” “I don’t feel like I need to explain to lawmakers….” You might as well put a doll in her place and be done with it.
If I didn’t like vampires, I would say she hasn’t been drinking enough blood lately.
In press releases why does she always compare herself to her predecessors?
ATF…she’s trying to justify her actions….
my thing is that she said that she would change things….hard to do when she won’t leave the past in the past…and repeats what ‘they’ did…BUT YOU KNOW ”’not as bad”’
Now be happy dammit!

The Rubber Room Hotel, Oh. My. God. I don’t know how you were able to be so restrained. I think I might have let loose with some creative swear words. Good for you for firmly stating your desire to protest if and when Palin shows up.
Can I just say again: Oh. My. God. I would be stockpiling eggs.
good relationship…at avoiding Lawmakers….she sends the staff person, Bill, Meg, or the security guard from the 1st floor…
WHEREAS, National Volunteer Week [proclaimed by GiNO], whos gonna volunteer to be the 1st to sign the impeachment petition? Shoot, I’l even more to AK so that I can sign…[OK. maybe not]
Hi Rubber Room – are you in Alaska? Even if you are, I do not see why GINO would appear, given her thousands of invites from all over the globe (cough cough) to speak. Did your school check the box for the entire “first family” to attend? Will the press be there? I am so sorry for you, having to even entertain the possibilty that SHE would show. And good on you for the promised protest if she does.
Rubber- GREAT story. Who filled out the request form on the governor’s website? Has your new principal seen that? Will the first family be invited? The media? Distinguished guests? Inquiring minds will want to know, ya know. You all have some paper work to fill out. Oh, and if your school colors aren’t Arctic Cat colors…well…
To The Rubber Room – Great, I was trying to calm down, now I am bouncing off the walls. Do something about her PLEASE. Doesn’t anyone you know agree with you?
And what is with her weird repetition of ‘the lawmakers’? Why not just say legislature? Or does that sound too professional to her?
Whoa! OT, but UK lady, thank you for the link to Susan Boyle. That is absolutely amazing and beautiful.
The Rubber Room is my hero!
Rubber Room, my money is on her standing you guys up. One kid graduating? Not a big enough audience. She needs big, adoring crowds in places like Georgia, TX, etc. Your graduation party is way too small potatoes for her entourage. Not meant to offend you, rather to soothe your jangled nerves. (Had I been in your shoes, I wouldn’t have been able to hold it in either.)
Lori- Clearly we were thinking the same thing. What would be really sad is if neither of us were from AK, yet we knew exactly what the procedure/questions were to request the governor’s appearance. Did you ever think we would know something that asinine?
Wow … glad I caught Countdown late re-run after reading your article … My very first day here, and I’m so impressed.
Great job with the interview!
When counting number of days out of state during session, one must keep in mind that the legislature has not always met for a 90-day session. Anyone have any details as to when that was put in place? I can’t remember!
I.e., if Knowles was gone 35 days but the legislature met for 180 days then that’s not bad! Further, if Knowles was gone for 35 days, and 25 of them were on state business (as opposed to grandstanding & posturing for one’s own personal agenda) then he gets a free pass for those 25 days, as they’re out of state, but STATE business related.
The Rubber Room Hotel @128-
You have me laughing so hard. oh but the isolation is not funny at all, I send you a hug and please keep posting as time goes by and your dislike of GINO is known to the people who attended.
Rubber Room, that was a great story. I wouldn’t hold my breath either, but I would make a few good protest signs. Something tells me you will need them.
Oh give me an effing break!!!!!!!!!! Here’s an official document regarding changing to a 90-day legislative session. July 2005! Given the fact that the letter asks that the issue be addressed AFTER the election, that would mean that it would not be addressed until November 2005. Knowles was not Gov then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://ltgov.state.ak.us/PDFs/05LEGS-Law.pdf
And WTH would anyone choose to compare themselves to Murkowski? That’s how she got herself elected, saying she was going to be the ethical answer to the Republican gov Murkowski.
I argue this issue with my daughter all of the time — she brings home a crap grade and when I ask her about it she says “so & so (the one who skips class every day and is failing all of their classes) is getting a worse grade than me!” And my response is “is that all you aspire to, being better than so & so the slacker?”
Bottom line is that Murkowski set the bar so incredibly low that even Sarah the Snake can slither over it. What a crock.
And if she does dis your graduation event, you can use newspapers with her photo on it to house train your pets. Just a suggestion…
The more I read about Bible Spice, the more I think this little nut has finally cracked. What a HUGE embarassment she must be to the few rational and intelligent Republicans left in the now-insane party of the loonyticks. It must be very difficult to keep a straight face in her presence – I know i’ve been enjoying some great out-loud laughs lately. Poor little woman – she really doesn’t have a clue, does she? Someone really should let her know that the ‘fat lady has done sung and gone home’.
More about the 90-day session. The 90-day session change that did not take effect until 2007.

In addition to what SMR has written, we also have to remember that Palin doesn’t spend most of her time in Juneau–thus, per diem-gate. She can rationalize it any way she wants, but she is a total flop as governor.

“Erratic behavior.” That is the phrase both sides of the aisle in Juneau are using to describe Governor Palin as of late. In any major company, the CEO doesn’t storm up or down stairs, blaze into an office and confront aides or the secretaries of their employees. In the military, generals don’t discipline privates. In government, it is unheard of. Last week Governor Palin marched into the office of the legislator and confronted the aide head on. full article:

Huh. When I read what The Rubber Room wrote, I thought it was written by a female. Interesting.
@ AlaskaDisasta “Poor little woman – she really doesn’t have a clue, does she? ”
I saw a tape of her on KO tonight. I thought she looked pretty shaky…..like maybe she’s starting to get a clue that her sandcastle is washing out to sea. Once she gets her fix from the adoring bots in Indiana, though, she may come back as arrogant and imperious as ever.
Oh Rubber Room think of the speech!!!! Your own personal word salad. And, you might be able to ask Bristol for the real news about Levi, and, of course, you can find out how Piper’s studies are going. What fun when the whole dang bunch descend on your little village.
The person who invited Gino is a close personal friend of Gino and the Dude, he is also Gino’s commissioner of labor and a local gold miner. He has a weekend cabin in the community and family ties. But does not nor never has lived here. I have gobs more info but I won’t get into it now.
Unfortunately Gino and Mr. Bishop have many fans here in my small community bought and paid for.
Thanks for the support mudflats.
As for Shannyn on Countdown, I’m wondering if she wasn’t allowed to talk about Ross. I mean, she started to talk about all the things that needed to be discussed in the legislative session, and then she stopped herself. So, perhaps it wasn’t on Countdown’s agenda?
I know most of you are probably gone tonight… but did anyone else notice the phrase “outside the Capitol building” in GINO’s presser? What’s up with that little bit of editorial masturbation? An event “outside the Capitol building” could be GINO’s appointment with her Gyno (are these supposed to rhyme?) or a play at her kid’s school. Not a trip across the continent.

Political Adversaries Allow Politics to Cloud Judgment in Final Week
April 13, 2009, Juneau, Alaska – Governor Sarah Palin blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah….Governor Palin had previously personally informed the legislative leadership of her upcoming event and asked if legislators had any problem with her attendance AT AN EVENT OUTSIDE THE CAPITOL BUILDING. It’s the height of unprofessionalism for a CEO ( or leader) to go after those lower in the hierarchy. Actually, it’s just plain bullying behavior. Cowards do that sort of thing. Vent their spleen on an underling who has little recourse for fighting back.
txindy, good catch. I bet she did say she was going to be ‘out of the Capitol building’ without specifying where she was going. I mean, I can’t imagine the Legislature would have been ok with her flying to Indiana at such a late date in the session.
nswfm CA , heh. Thanks for providing me with a laugh before bedtime.
OK. So putting on my tin foil hat…
Maybe she would show up. Think of the photo op, Saint Gov Palin, not too famous to show up for the graduation on one child (young adult doesn’t sound as good here.) Mamma Grizzly looking out for her young. What a way to NOT look like you’re only going to large, adoring crowds.
Which, or course, would mean all Mudpuppies would need to send graduation cards to this young person. Poster sized. Yellow boots on them. Just a little something to help decorate any photo backgrounds
If she really put out the press release, she has lost it. I don’t mean the blah blah blah one, either. The more I think about it, getting into this pissing contest with the others on the play ground and then DOCUMENTING it by the press release will mark the real beginning of the end for her. What an amature hour this has turned out to be. She probably hates McCain even more now for exposing her charade.

“They printed details of her trip and that was why she became unhinged?”
Did the details include her full itinerary? Is she afraid there will be protesters? I don’t think she’s going to see the loving crowds she saw during the campaign.
We know the people attending will all be her fans but what about the locals who are pro-choice? How she is received is going to be very telling. Very telling indeed!
I believe that Gino would come here believing that she was in safe territory between the bought and paid for fan club and the extreme religious contingent that also resides out here (who by the way sent me a KJ bible in the mail yesterday for an Easter gift ( hint i think) ).
So I will be probably be a party of one at this if she shows. I may have one or two people who agree with me but for fear of income or jobs will not participate in my little protest.
BTW female
The Rubber Room Hotel, then you are even braver for doing it on you own.
(BTW, I knew you were female! Sorry for the crowing).
I think Palin will spontaneously combust in 3…2…1….
Rubber room – I am not sure exactly where you are, but supportive AK mudpuppies might happily come to your aid to join your protest.
Lori in LA
That’s what my spouse said.
I promise if there is some response from Gino I will keep mud puppies up to date. And maybe put out a call for help. Though the smart thing would be for me to leave town.
RubberRoom: I am very proud of you and you are a true Mudpup. With all the troubles haggard GINO is going through up there in Alaska, she just might go to the graduation for a photo op and damage control. Of course she will have Faux News and Greta and the bunch filming it all to show that she is in touch with all Alaskans. Hugs to you and your courage.
@Asiangirl: Concerning the gender of RubberRoom: I just have to say, “Damn youre good”!!

NO. she become unhinged because Levy wants unobstructed visits with Tripp and in saying that in public he may trip and mention Trig also, too the site Palin’s deceptions is getting way too much visitors and she still has no proof of who Trig mother is, but…..She knows the truth about blah blah blah…and she knows blah blah….One thing you betcha, over her dead body blah blah.
It is just so much before you can find and aide to take your frustration on. She had to hit something.
califpat,
Thanks for your encouraging words.
This is a somewhat remote village I can’t imagine faux coming out here. Holy Crap that would be to much for me all in one day.
califpat, pshaw, it was nothing. I also know when women are pregnant and what the gender of their child-to-be is going to be.
I used to temp at the county in the department for which my mom worked. I asked her about a coworker being pregnant. My mom said, “No, she’s not.” She was. I said it would be a boy. It was.
I also watch sports, and sometimes, I will just know when something is going to happen. My mom once told me that I should bet on it, but I never know until about two minutes before the action happens. A nice parlor trick, but of no monetary value.
P.S. The Rubber Room, please do what you need to do to be safe.
The Legislators newsltter came out today. They say WAR will likely be confirmed and they also provide details of GINOS tantrum.
The newsletter is on pdf form and can be found at Halcros blog. It is authored by Republican Legislator, so I am hoping against hope that he is wrong about WARs appointment.
Thanks asiangrrlMN,
Oh I am not to worried about my safety.
But I am likely to make a few already strained relationships more so.
HEHEHEHE LOL!
@Asiangirl: That is a truly awesome gift to possess.
@RubberRoom: Keep up the good work and hopefully you can school some other Alaskans about the real dire truth about GINO. I know it wont be easy.
I find it hard to believe that people are still taking her serious
WAR’s voice sounds like Elmer Fudd.
Just sayin’.
The Rubber Room,
I agree with Lori in LA. I don’t know where you live nor if you have corresponded with Ann or Vic at AB. If not I think you should, they might have some advice for you or someone to guide you in the right direction.
Forever Anonymous,
You can’t Recall NOR Impeach someone on gossip. Recall isn’t about Levi, Bristol, Sarah or innocent babies. It’s about competance to govern. I don’t know what else to say besides look at the facts. There is enough there to Recall Palin.
The truth about Bush gossip came out AFTER he was elected to Pres. Would have been nice to have nipped him in the bud.
michigander, (born and raised in MI by the way)
AB?
I think SP was afraid to go to the GOP event in June – too much competition. I think she came away from the Alfalfa dinner stinging a bit from PO’s remark and looking like such a hick.
Not much better at the GOP Gov’s convention – more competition, lots of criticism and coolness from the other govs. She’s going to this Right To Life thing because she’s the center of the event. Remember, she’s a narcissist! She wants VOTES, not necessarily a bunch of other politicians. She’s NOT a team player, no matter what she says about her basketball days, and it WILL be instrumental in her downfall. I so love typing that!
Plus, OH NO! THE FEDS ARE IN THE STATE – GOTTA GO! Sec. of the Interior Salazar and Senator Begich – together up north in Anchorage & Dillingham. Plotting fed takeovers, I’m sure! I’m sure WAR is gettin’ ready, guns locked and loaded, too, also.
Am I living in a TV reality show and no one is telling me?
Rubber Room–You’d be welcome to come visit if she comes up for graduation, because you KNOW that would mean she wouldn’t be here (as if she ever really is…)!

@Lori in Los Angeles–That newsletter is NOT authored by any legislator. One of the Bradners USED to be a legislator, but now the two of them write the Bradners’ Alaska Legislative Digest to keep people up to date with what is going on.

If Rubber Room isn’t still around to answer, I assume it’s a King James Bible (one of the many versions available).

Thank you austintx….Shannyn was great although I would have liked to have heard a bit on WAR…not enough time I suppose.

Just for grins , I looked at some comments at c4p. One person said to follow the money from “idiot bloggers” and it would lead to Axelrod. Um-m-m , let’s think about that for about 1 second……….Axelrod beat 2 Clintons , the rest of the Dem. field , then spanked McCain/Palin. Now he is helping PO untangle 8 yrs. of B.S. If there was a list of s^*t Mr.Axelrod could care less about , sarah would not even make that list. I mean really.seriously.

Some of todays deluded twaddle (see last post). “McCain was on Leno last night and mentioned some top repubs, Sarah wasn’t named” (shock horror all round) ” this could be a problem, let’s hope the MSM doesn’t pick up on it”.

Let’s not forget that they are now THRILLED to be on the Governor’s “radar” .
This from one of the fans:
**We are going places. Woo hoo. The governor’s staff knows of our existence! excellent, my friends.
We will always have your back, Gov. Don’t worry about weasels like Ramras, we will take care of him.**
Don’t they know that she doesn’t like basement dwelling pj clad bloggers?

i can’t believe you left off the most obvious choice in your poll — “cancel and blame anonymous bloggers” and “go but cut the trip short, blaming anonymous bloggers.”
i hope though that people are really starting to understand that palin never was “good at politics.” what she was good at was winking.
unfortunately for her, winking really only does take you so far before lack of organizational and analytical skills make it clear you’re in way over your head.
I do believe Ms. P has decided that she likes being in front of a camera (or audience) more than she likes dealing with the nitty-gritty details of running a state.
How about “Cancel and blame Levi” as an option in your poll.
She doesn’t hesitate to verbally attacking a teenage boy to the media. Shameful.
This is part of a poll that I linked below.
Palin attracted the highest percentage of those who did not trust her at all to identify the right solutions, topping Pelosi 33 percent to 32 percent. Romney got a mixed reaction, with 38 percent of voters saying they trust him and 39 percent saying they don’t.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0409/21213.html

Do you need a volunteer from Europe? If we move to Copenhagen (instead of the states – it’s the economy silly!), I’ll have plenty of time to monitor the forums and comment section. I love how this political stuff keeps me entertained for hours.
I love it!

The Juneau Empire is reporting today that Dennis Egan is the new pick for the Senate Seat – and it looks like he has a wealth of bipartisan support. He’s the son of Alaska’s first Governor, even Kerttula said “Dennis is a great choice”.
have you guys seen this? and note how a cross is placed behind the governor and caught on camera many many times.
she kinda comes unglued when pressed on the vetting of Wayne Antoney Ross and whether they did indeed fact check his statements.

The Governor could have saved herself a trip to the second floor if she or her staff had noticed her trip secret was out of the bag in the Anchorage Newsreader that day already. She was like a cat on a hot tin roof I hear. I’m glad no one engaged in her public drama show but she sure made a big to do about nothing as usual. I say she takes this trip – she can’t risk staying in Juneau and actually be available to participate in meaningful discussions regarding the stimulus package. She isn’t capable and we know it.
wow–she looks/acts horrible. Any sense on whether the buffoon will be confirmed?
Anyone think she will not go and send Bristol. Reason I say this is that I have talked to people who think Bristol just proves the prolife movement like GINO does because she kept the baby.

I’m actually starting to feel kind of sorry for her. A few months ago, she was a shining star in the national Republican party, and now she’s being attacked from all sides, even by people in her own party and state. She deserves it, yes–her actions clearly show narcissistic/sociopathic tendencies–but it seems like she has no idea why people are turning against her, and she’s getting more confused and discombobulated by the day just trying to hold herself together. I think there are real mental health issues there.
I hope this is good for the Natives, anyone know this person?
http://www.thetundradrums.com/news/story/5609
U.S. Sen. Mark Begich has hired Bethel resident Tiffany Zulkosky to serve as his rural director. An Alaska Native born and raised in Bethel, Zulkosky will resign her current position as Bethel mayor to join Begich’s staff at the end of the month, according to a news release from Begich’s office.
“Filling this position is a priority for me given the tremendous challenges facing rural Alaska today,” Begich said. “Tiffany will be my eyes and ears throughout rural Alaska and will work closely with my staff in D.C. to address those challenges.”

If,in fact, she had “previously personally informed the legislative leadership of her upcomming event” then why did she go nuclear on a legislative aide who dared to release information about the timing of the “upcomming event.” which the Queen had already “personally informed the legislative leadership” of?
Hey Sarah, your slip ups showing again.
If the trip is ligit. why would you want to keep it so secret that the revelation of it would cause you to react so very leaderly like?

I don’t know how she could possibly cancel the pro life event – not after all those tickets were sold.
And Bristol – with “abstinance is unrealistic” – bet she’d give them an “eye-opening” talk – hell I may even pay to hear HER.

her she goes messin with appointments and gettin mavericky again, does the leg have anything to say? not sure this is a good thing for Natives. it’s about Palin’s pick for a “board of fisheries” member
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
http://www.juneauempire.com/stories/041409/sta_429161971.shtml
Ever since Walter Hickel was governor, Kramer said, governors had an unwritten rule of appointing three commercial fishermen, three sport fishermen and one person from Fairbanks to the board. He warned of an imbalance if lawmakers approved Johnson.
“You’re ensuring a board that is dominated by commercial fishing interests,” he said.
The appointment also would mean no one north of Big Lake, a Matanuska-Susitna Borough community north of Wasilla, would be on the board, Kramer said.
“That’s more than half the state of Alaska,” he said. The absence would be especially critical because the board soon will be considering decisions affecting commercial and subsistence fishermen on the Yukon and Kuskokwim watersheds.
State senators asked for rosters of previous Fish Boards. They will vote on Palin appointees Thursday in a joint session with the House.
“You’re kind of between a hard place and a rock, with the fish in the middle,” Sen. Charlie Huggins, R-Wasilla, told Johnson.

While it’s OK to feel sorry for her as a person (I certainly don’t wish her personal ill) there can be no mercy for her on the political front. She’s proven that if you don’t agree with her views, she will show *you* no mercy. Palin has proven herself to be quite vindictive and dangerous, not to mention unethical and incompetent. Her particular blend of personality, evangelism and politics have no place in government. And like you said, she doesn’t seem to be wired to be able to recognize anything she says or does as wrong (that’s the danger).
Her brand of politics needs to be exposed, dug up, ground out completely and the earth salted so it never rises again. As a governor, she’s dangerous enough. As a potential Presidential candidate she’s a catastrophe waiting to happen. It’s our patriotic duty to keep that door shut, even if it hurts to watch.

Andrea Mitchell just announced that sanctions against Uncle Ted have been lifted and he can practice law again.

It’s worse — they’re listening to you THINK and also giving you dangerous, socialistic ideas.
you can listen to the yesterdays Dillingham Ken Salazar community meeting here………..there is a live gov. link somewhere, my computer wouldn’t run it but I’ll post it if I can find it.

Hey, guess who’s covering the 4/15 tea party in Washington DC for Faux News? — none other than GVS. (Saw it on HuffPo last night.)
Hmmm ….. not that far from Indiana ……

Very true. If even her press release indicates she informed everyone, why go wingnut on an aide?
But to me, the weirdness was also in the press release saying that it was okay with everyone that she left the BUILDING. Major CYA, IMHO. It’s the way liars try to skirt the truth.
BTW, Marnie. I so love all your posts. You have a wonderful way with words.
I think we will discover in future months that GVS is off the GINO speed dial. She just took too much heat over her husband’s connections to the GINOPac.
aussiegal77: No, Palin will not snub the right to life folks. They are the only reason she still has a following. It is those that are against abortion, and against gay marriage that are still supporting her. This is her core group. These are the issues that are a problem for the far right fundamental christian church.
These people would criminilize abortion, and try to legislate morality. We know from our history that we can legislate, but we cannot stop behavior.
It is so hard to watch those Palin press conference videos. Knowing the facts behind the current events, I’m just in shock at how casually this deluded Gov can LIE. And that those in the room with her just keep on being enablers. Sick, sick, sick!

Now that’s just wrong! Someone should file against him with the Bar association! Maybe GINO will pick Ted next if WARGINO is not confirmed?
A blogger on Huffington Post said he had been called three times to sign the recall petition. Where can we find one…anyone know?
@crystalwolf aka caligrl–he’d almost be better…in spite of the fact that I think he’s still guilty as charged…
Lest we forget due to the numerous distractions, this is important:
from article at: http://alaskareport.com/news39/x71171_public_records.htm
The Public Records Act provides that public records must be be provided within 10 working days of being requested, or as soon as practicable.
Eight Months and Counting…Palin again delays release of public records.
It appears that Governor Palin wants to drag this on indefinitely. Why is it a problem to release those emails? What is she hiding?
@BooBooBear–seriously? I haven’t seen one. Maybe someone at Alaskans for Truth knows something? Though maybe not, as if they were working on it, I’m sure we’d have heard by now. Maybe it’s just a low-key effort so far…
Don’t feel too bad about your missing Gov. When Romney was Gov. of Massachusetts he actually spent more time outside the state (deriding all things MA) than he did inside the state. Sort of like Bush spending more time on vacation than in the White House doing his job.
Why ask for the job if you don’t want to do it is my question.
On HuffPo a new article concerning W.A.R.:

@austintx….lol…I was wondering if anyone would mention the brain washing boxes. I caught that bit on the ED show on MSNBC last night. My brother and I stared at each other with our mouths open…could not believe what we heard! As well…everyone needs to pull their kids out of college….cause the profs are brain washing them there too. My god…what do they want? An ENTIRE nation of idiots?
Has the ADN shut down the comments section..?

Because when you’re STRESSING…you attack the first person who gives you a reason to lose it….we’ve all been there. She reached her boilng point on Gussenndforf (?), Nelson, WAR and now Indiana RtL, when this aide just happened to be walking by with her Indiana agenda. It’s stress combined with lack of sleep (due to crying babies/nightmares or both) and anger.
BTW: Will she make it back for Trig’s 1st birthday or is that on the back burner as well??
287… I win! See 239!
Man I LOVE this blog! I’m almost late for work every day! The interest and speed of information exchange is off the hook! Can’t wait for the next item!
“Might as well face it,
I’m addicted to Mud!”
You know the tune!
Wouldn’t it be great if the Legislature could declare an emergency while Palin was out of State and make Parnell Acting Governor? Think she’d get the hint? We need some intervention on this Governor…asap. I’m excited about the Dennis Egan appointment too! In your face Governor…he has a good sense of humor and will do just fine for Juneau…great Alaskan family. It’s pretty empty at ADN, no one there has a sense of humor today. Can’t say I didn’t try…smile.
Why hasn’t SP repeated her “I can govern the state from my blackberry” mantra?
Was Dennis Egan on previous lists submitted to GINO?
ADN it appears is caving to C4P and Team Sarah. Big whoop.
I swear…since finding mudflats in August, I come here first…then check the other Alaskan blogs and a few others around the country. ADN unfiltered was/is a troll fest on BOTH sides of the aisle. I have read some of the comments over there during these last months, and most of the posters are just plain dumb.
The interesting thing is, early on it was very “sarahcentric”. Everyone just loved her and bashed Obama constantly. When another poster had a differeing viewpoint…he or she was bashed..unmercifully. Now…some people are waking up. They were saying things the Palin lovers didnt like…and most of it was not done in a nasty manner. C4P and TS started whining and crying…then got threatening.
Pretty soon…newspapers will be old hat. Mudflats always has the current news….I read it in the paper days later.
This C4P and TS stuff is getting so old. Who will they go after now I wonder.
Laurie, I agree, I stopped reading at ADM when they posted AKM’s name and will not go back or purchase one paper.

Did you hear the lady yell out “Burn the books!!” A mans voice could be heard asking her if she was serious and she did not back down……..sigh…….
For those interested , here is the “Psycho Talk” segment on the ED show. It is funny and scary at the same time. 3rd screen down.
http://www.wegoted.com/archive/theedshow/
ADN’s “Unfiltered Comments” looks to be a section that is kind of like Letters to the Editor/ reader blogs, only more of the nutty/ irrelevant stuff gets through than in actual letters to the editor (because it is “unfiltered”). It’s not the actual comments on the stories that are being shut down.
I said it about Bush, and I’ll say it about Palin–I would feel sorry for her if she was doing all this crap to herself. However, since she is inflicting as much damage on her state as she possibly can, my sympathy for her is severely limited.
It’s actually my guiding philosophy. I am a big bleeding-heart liberal, but when someone’s actions hurt another person, that’s where I draw the line. I can still sympathize, but I have to look at the greater good.
In this case, the greater good of Alaska is predicated on minimizing the damage that Sarah has wrought.

I just stumbled across a new article all of you may enjoy reading…”Politico Poll: Obama Most Trustworthy And Palin Least Trustworthy Political Figures”
http://themoderatevoice.com/28990/politico-poll-obama-most-trustworthy-and-palin-least-trustworthy-political-figures/
Oh my! Those wheels on the bus are looking pretty bad!
Lots of waves to all of you from Ohio!
WAR’s confirmation…
With all the many stories that were on the web about WAR yesterday (major Nat’l blogs)and one yesterday and another one today on HuffPo it might be possible that the Nat’l attention will mean his name is pulled and they won’t even vote.
(we could hope)
I emailed CNN’s Roland Martin as well because he has been doing Campbell Brown’s Show. He covers more personal topics with commentary… not so much the Headlines. I received confirmation so I know this email works.
roland@cnn.com (send one as well)
I spoke about the KKK story, domestic abuse opinions he has expressed..etc
It couldn’t hurt to get Ross’s name in his ear. I just asked Him to investigate. The more noise and voices they hear… the better. GINO may have to pull him if it is a bad reflection of “HER” in the News.
It’s not like she has not ‘flip-flopped’ before…. when it gets personal.
Oh my goodness, yet another fresh off the press news article that may cause another tire to blow out!
U.S. News & World Report – ‘Is the GOP Waving Bye-Bye to Sarah Palin?’

the problem child IS MY NAME Says: April 14th, 2009 at 11:04 AM – “ADN’s unfiltered comments…”
The ADN comments section across the website has been severly compromised over the past week. I was one of the rebutters of the Palinbots and though I adhered to the ADN comment policy, my account was blocked. It is my feeling that either the SarahPac’ers clicked my comments as “report abuse” and I was automatically blocked, or there is some censorship going on over there. Oh well, I’m glad there’s the MudFlats to come to.

Yeah, someone at ADN is working ovetime on the delete button..under an article specifically about Levi ande the Palins I brought up Sarah and Molly’s direct quote from Esquire mag about Levi’s “wedding ring being stuck on his finger” and GINO’s response about “you’re stuck now, it’s symbolic”. And today, poof, it’s gone.
ADN now has an article about Chuck Heath complaining that Levi is not paying for diapers. If ADN doesn’t want comments with damning Palin quotes and examples of how they are self-destructing then they need to STOP putting up articles about the family feud’s details.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s father is taking the 19-year-old father of her grandson to task for not helping to pay for the baby’s care.
—————
Was it not Chuck Heath who bragged to the media back in December that his house was overflowing with baby gifts from around the world?? How many of those gifts has he sent to Levi’s house for when the baby is over there…oh..that’s right…the baby is not allowed over there.
Once the ADN site shuts down later tonite, will the palinbots come here to heckle? I hope McClatchey can find a forum administrator who can fairly and adequately referee the ADN unfiltered forums. We’ve had the same types of problems down here in pennsyltucky, but the real problems managed to get themselves permanently blocked and most of the pennlive forums now seem to move along pretty well. They also have the same people keep an eye on the comments sections attached to news stories, although I’ve not seen the numbers of comments as there are with the ADN. Just today, one story down here got over 100 comments but that type of volume is unusual.
I was just checking an article about the 3 new names that Quean Sarah has sent to the Legislature for the Juneau Senate seat. (sigh) There were 95 comments listed as being written, only about 25 of them were showing. You can’t tell me 70 comments were all abusive – well, kinda unlikely – we are talking about some frustrated people here and Sarah Palin’s machinations.
I don’t know look what happened to Blago his party outed him but of course that is not the republican party where you have to be in lockstep
The Rubber Room Hotel great post could not stop laughing not at you but with you,.If by chance she does show up be sure and have signs posted along th way
The Rubber Room I wonder do those people really think sending you a bible is going to chaneg your mind about Ms Palin? She has nothing to do with what is in the bible LOL She certainly doesn’t act very christian like in what she says and does.
austintx LOL good one e are already still in two wars and he wants another one besides the fact that we had to back off when Clinto was president because it was so lawless.
I know the right to lifers like palin some of them I know a few that have no use for her but at any rate how could they condone her wanting some one line War as an AG with all the baggage he has and most of it is bad,I would think any women would not like what this man stans for no matter their stance on abortion or birth control
Now I know why when I reread an article I could not find my post .I know I watched carefully what I said in my post so I knew it wasn’t that them closing down and monitoring the site explains it all cause I look to see if I was still active and I was. I could see my post but they did not appear when I posted.
