Palin Reacts to Ross Smackdown.

And here is the official word from the governor on the rejection of Wayne Anthony Ross.    Dateline Indiana:

“In an unprecedented move, the 26th Alaska Legislature today rejected Governor Sarah Palin’s nomination for attorney general. Lawmakers failed to confirm Wayne Anthony Ross by a vote of 23 to 35.

“I believed I knew what Alaskans wanted when I selected an individual who is a strong backer of 2nd Amendment rights, a staunch supporter of the state Constitution and a defender of life,” Governor Palin said. “Wayne Anthony Ross supports responsible, ethical development of Alaska’s rich resources. I’m surprised that legislators in this case really did not seem to represent their constituents and allowed themselves to be swayed by side issues. Mr. Ross is a fine Alaskan. He is held in high esteem by many Alaskans. I appreciate his willingness to serve the public.”

Side issues? Like being concerned if you’re a lawmaker who might be breaking the LAW?

She does not comprehend the hearts and minds of the people, even those in her home State.     Here’s why it really hurts SP. It comes a day after the great nat’l “tea-bagging” event. If anything, you would think her wingnuttery would have some momentum, right? But no!
    WAR couldn’t win even after that Fox News sponsored event (see Jon Stewart/Daily Show for more on how FOX sponsored Teabagging!)

    She lies and twists, as usual, so easy to recognize and pick apart…however, I noticed this isn’t SP in full snarky regalia. Either it will get worse as she embellishes and makes up more lies about what Alaskans want, or else she’s a bit tired. I think her feet hurt from stomping, and her scalp, too from pulling her hair out, there too also. Her mouth is ready to freeze in the WAAAAAH! position.

    Oh well, a day breather and a good day it is! What’s so funny now is that her zealot whack bots think she should now NOT run for Gov since Alaska is so inhospitable to her AND the Legislature nothing but a kangaroo court (and don’t forget the RINO traitor republicans here) so she should just get out and just go “national”. In other words, they are realizing that with any proximity to the twit, she comes undone and all the veneer just peels off. Better to whisk her off to a stage somewhere, away from reporters and office staff who might talk – so they can still pretend she stands for something but they can cover up all of her personality traits that are so damning.

    I say GOOD LUCK! She won’t be able to separate her snarkiness from her politics – it’s who she is. Rather, it’s WHAT she is! Go Sarah – you just keep up those vendettas, the personal nasty blogging on your state website, your snarkiness to the Legislature, your hatred of the press – it’s all doing you NO good but it’s helping our cause tremendously, I applaud the whack job gov for being so consistently twisted!

Someone needs to sit down with her, get out the ol’ family dictionary, and read to her (since she can’t seem to be able to read herself) the definition of Attorney General. And while they’re at it, they should refresh her on the “what it is exactly” that a VP and Governor does as well.

    People are right when they say that the right wing wackos are loud but small. In order to actually WIN a national office, you must have crossover votes.

    This defeat will drive her to something not very pleasant – she is in a really bad way right now. Think…of a badly wounded animal – a big nasty mad hurt animal…got it? That’s your Governor.

    She’s going to try and take some revenge.
    The legislators definitely need thanks from everyone. I know those of us from the Lower 48 would express our support, but they don’t work for us so we don’t count.

This was indeed a very timely message to send to the governor. Her wing nuts turned to scare tactics in support of WAR, i.e. you are going to lose your hunting and fishing rights and you are going to lose your guns, so the pressure was on. Believe me, the Governor offered a full court behind the scenes press to have him confirmed.

    Watching from afar, I’m very, very pleased to see this announcement. The Alaska Legislature is getting a work out this season and so far as I can tell, voting the will of their constituents — bravo. Seems incredible that Mrs. Palin can’t grasp it … but she obviously acknowledges (which surprised me) that she is out of tune with Alaskans. For her to not see this coming, and stating her surprise, does support a division between how she sees the state being governed and how the people see the state being governed. That’s quite an admission.

    Congratulations to everyone who fought so hard to make WAR history.

    I suggest, as an interested observer, that she be given one more chance to get it right and pick a Senator from the list she was given by the Democrats. If she fails to fulfill her obligation under Alaskan law to appoint someone from that list, then IMPEACH or RECALL her. The woman is as mad as a March Hare and needs serious help.

    May I also say that Alaskans should be proud that they called her bluff today. You know what good government should be, and you showed the world that you won’t settle for anything less.

    Definition of Attorney General (Wiki)

    In most common law jurisdictions the attorney general is the main legal advisor to the government- additionally he or she may have executive responsibility for law enforcement or responsibility for public prosecutions.

    Where in this does it say the AG has anything to do with natural resources?
    And has Roe v Wade been dismissed in Alaska? Also, has the second Amendment been discarded and only WAR and Sarah know about it?

    WAR’s charm was that he was planning on suing the Federal government, so that Palin’s wolf eradication program could proceed. The ‘rich’ natural resources, in this case, would be moose hunting licenses.

    There are many qualified attorneys in Alaska, we have more than our fair share of lawyers !     Okay. Watched the Ziegler arrest video.

    What a nutjob.

    He’s smiling and laughing the entire time. He’s constantly challenging the police with “tell me why” etc.

    Apparently the guy was NOT recognized media, was NOT in the designated media area and was accosting people entering the Walter Conkrite Media Awards. They don’t know what he was asking them but I did hear something about “she” being there. Would that be…..a blogger? Getting an award.

    The cameraman made a point to zero in on one of the cop’s jackets to get his name. Also after Ziegler was arrested, he resisted and would not move, fell down, was eventually moved to a fence (continuing to smile and laugh) and when the police asked the cameraman to turn the camera off, they didn’t. They just lowered it continuing the sound and pictures of feet. When Ziegler finally agreed to leave, the cops physically turned the camera off, but they continue to roll sound. Off campus, they took pictures of Ziegler’s poor, poor hurt wrists. Which wouldn’t have hurt if he hadn’t resisted arrest.

    What a fruitcake. Typical right wing whacko.

    Since, in the long run it is to the Repblicans advantage, also, to continue the time honored way of filling a vacated seat –
    What if the Leg. Dems and Republicans had a open vote from the floor for Eagan? Sarah would have a hard time rejecting that choice since they will have done it the way she wanted it.

    Sarah could still might not accept their vote but she would be rejecting the Republicans, and would have gotten the open two party vote she said wanted.
    Next time the Leg. can go back to the way they have been filling the seat. I haven’t seen a single criticism of how that process has worked for 20 years, except that a real election would be preferable.

    It is my understanding that WAR will continue as the intrim AG until an official AG is approved by the next Leg. Hopefully this slap down will keep him on a short leash. And hopefully if he pulls anymore bull patty quasi,according-to-WAR legaleze, he will get slapped down quick.

    Well, THIS is telling… KTUU TV just aired an interview w/ Wayne Anthony Ross that they did today. His statement to all of Alaska on camera was this:

    His second sentence reveals that he is just as big a Narcissist as Sarah Palin (quite an accomplishment, even for this blowhard). But even more disturbingly, he obviously JUST DOESN’T GET IT. Hey, “WAR”, read my lips: The job of the Attorney General of the State is to uphold state law AS IT IS WRITTEN, and to represent the PEOPLE OF THE STATE, not the Governor who appointed you, or anyone else with an agenda.     Do you realize if Texas suceedes and Duhbya stays a Texan (no state income tax), he would no longer be an American citizen, no longer have the protection of American laws, and probably no longer be eligible for SS protection. If it meant actually getting him into an international court I would almost be willing to give my old home state the push.

    From the postings do NOT tell me she is still talking about the clothes! (During the campaign they told her to Drop It; things have a 24 hour news cycle. It blew her hockey mom image and she knows it. Also a blow to her vanity.)

    Sounds as if she was campaigning if she mentioned being enslaved to China, has her eye on North Korea. Did she really say these things?

    Did she really tear up? My Favorite Photo is of her on election night, just on the verge of tears. I call it Brave Barbie. A real beauty pageant moment. So close to that crown.

    What a fabulous, fabulous day with the anti-WAR vote. I have never woo-hoo’ed in my entire life and will try to control myself in future.
