Beluga Watch!

Interested in participating in a study of beluga whales in Cook Inlet?  A group looking to study the absence and presence of beluga whales along the coast of Cook Inlet, and more fully understand the habitat needs of these amazing animals will be hosting a training session.

If you are interested in being a participant in the study, all you need to do is bring yourself and your enthusiasm tonight to the BP Energy Center from 6:30-8:45 to learn how to help in this effort.

The training session will feature speakers Barbara Mahoney of NOAA, and wildlife biologist Tamara McGuire who has been involved with individual cataloguing of the whales.

I would love to take a break from the lower 48 and count whales.
But in this economy, it will be a while before I could afford to do it.

I would love to see the Beluga Whales….I’m like Duckdriver as well. Six months ago I could have done it….now I’m afraid to spend.

There is this uncertain future…years ago, you could always emigrate…now everywhere is the same. People don’t have the same options.

Yeah, they don’t commute down here either, or I’d keep an eye out for them here. Maybe I’ll see if I have any Anch. friends who’d like to help.

I can’t send any of our endangered St. Lawrence beluga up to bolster the population, but here’s one showing his support.

Hey, IrishGirl, don’t know about setting up a PAC for you, but I’m sure you could score some free housing with an Anch. mudpup if you could get there!
