CC is Back on the Air – Tune in to KWMD 104.5FM
There’s one thing about voices. They don’t like to be silenced, especially when they belong to progressive radio powerhouse CC whose show “Cutting Edge” went off the air a couple weeks ago.
Now at the new broadcast location affectionately known as “Two Bay Studios” (yes, it’s a garage), Cutting Edge with CC is back. Steve Jobs started Apple in a garage, right? And he didn’t even have the benefit of a kickoff with Bob Poe and Senator Johnny Ellis!
So tune in today from 4-7pm. Guests also include Cary Carrigan and Democratic Party Chair Patti Higgins. Do call in at 771-0205 to show some love and support.
KWMD is more ubiquitous than you might have thought!
Kasilof — 90.7 FM
Anchorage — 104.5 & 87.74 FM
Eagle River — 92.5 FM
Mat Su — 107.9 FM
I’ll be in the car most of the time, and posting at red lights from my Blackberry has never worked out well…but anyone listening is welcome to live blog the event in the comments. Should be great!

I don’t think Microsoft got started in a garage. Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard to start his software company. He came from a very wealthy family. He had investors. He did not have to work out of a garage.
Hewlett Packard did get its start in a garage. You can actually see the garage, which is privately owned but acknowledged in a plaque.
Actually the one I was thinking about was Apple (ducks to avoid flying objects from mac users who now realize I confused Apple and Microsoft). Will rewrite accordingly. After more coffee… AKM
I’m ready
Go CC! (And Fork you, KUDO!)
And sorry to jump on the correction bandwagon, but it was the two Steves — Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak who seeded Apple computers from their garage.
Noted and corrected. Yes, that’s who I was thinking of. No worries. Every blogger should have a volunteer factchecking and editorial staff!
AKM
I’m so glad they have an Eagle River channel this time. Thanks!! It drove me nuts last time. I wanted to listen so bad, but no matter what I did my little radio wasn’t going to pick up the Anchorage signal (probably that mountain getting in the way like it always does!). Go CC and KWMD!
Thanks, Blooper-I knew I loved my I Mac for a reason
Congrats to CC; may the force be with you!
CO almost native: No problem! I really do fear correcting Mudflats, it’s kind of like correcting God.
ROFL! If that’s the case, we’re all in big trouble. But it does explain a lot of things.
AKM
Good on CC!
Yep, and Randi Rhodes is back on the air starting Monday! Oh, joy! Oh, rapture!
And on ClearChannel yet!
Whoopee!
Some one pleas do live blog it – the villages can’t get and like to hear more!!
Obsessive Topic here: Hewlett and Packard started in a garage (THE Garage, in these parts). Apple started in, I believe, Woz’s bedroom.
Hewlett Packard started in a garage…..two guys with a big dream, did well till, well I won’t go there. (my hubby is one of the victims)
Anyway…… I do love and believe in grassroots beginnings…….
It’s VERY cool CC is bad on the airwaves! good for AK for sure! I’d love to hear her.
oh dear, not bad, but back on the airways, although bad for good reason could apply?
wish there was an online feed–I can’t listen here!
I miss CC. I used to listen to her while doing my Saturday chores. I even miss the seafood specials …..
Will be liveblogging CC’s broadcast in a moment… stay tuned.
Ok, finally got the signal!
Mudflats & AKM just got a shoutout from Bob Poe. CC & Carey are on and they’re talking about the posting regarding Palin’s sliding polls
Bob Poe just said he tweets. Woohoo!
(Note, yeah this is Blooper. I sometimes go as Tundrapup when the mood strikes).
They are discussing business & industry with Poe. He’s showing off his business chops & is definitely knowledgeable in that area.
Since we are on computers I have a dell I love but am thinking about a new computer and someone suggestd a HP.and I see someone had bad luck I assume >I have a HP printer that is quite old but work wonderfully am Afraid to change to apple but guess will look at them any hints?
Poe is talking about developing industry and using our resources (wisely) to develop the third leg of Alaska’s ecomony.
CC mentioned she is depressed when she thinks about how long Palin still has left in her time as Governor. She thinks we can’t do anything (implement Poe’s ideas) without the support of the Palin administration, that all we can do is talk.
Will have to wait until Poe is elected.
Poe is concerned about Alaska’s flattening job numbers. CC mentioned she just picked up her last paycheck, doesn’t have a severance package (golden parachute). She is discouraged & concerned that Palin doesn’t grasp the basics of what is going on with everyday Alaskans. Yet she’s grateful to be able to broadcast from ‘two garage studio’.
Poe wants the governor to start getting things done for Alaska. He thinks we need to hold her accountable. Poe thinks Alaska has the best leverage to convince the governor to get things done.
Cary is doubtful she’ll do anything. CC thinks the people of the state of Alaska need more leverage to get things done and can’t rely just on senators, legislators, etc.
CC mentioned she is mountain biking this weekend. You can email the station at aers@oneskyradio.com
Station signing off.
jojobo1: Since you asked, go with the apple. You may pay a little more but you won’t regret it.
Why don’t you build your own computer. Get all the parts from *newegg.com
Thank heavens, I was having CC withdrawls. The afternoons have seemed so silent.
mudwoman: Yeah, I was too. I think it’s great that her voice is on the airwaves again, even if it’s pro-bono work. I’m sure she’ll land a paying gig very soon, she’s one of Anchorage’s finest voices.
Tundrapup/ Blooper: Thanks for the liveblogging!
the problem child IS MY NAME!:
No problem! I do apologize if my live blogging attempt was a bit amateurish – it was my first time – but I’d be happy to do it again in the future. I’ll also try to get more of the show in next time.
