The grifter comment was meant in fun. The lawsuit just seems ironic given the conservative GOP stance in union vs management issues. Playing devil’s advocate, imagine a reverse situation with reduced benefits put in place. Those with greater vested benefits wouldn't ask to be included. Or, say AK state employee benefits were increased for future retirees and current retirees sued the state to be included. I suspect Palin would fight them tooth and nail. The state has a limited budget and couldn’t cover the costs of raising benefits for a larger group. The current retirees knew what their benefits would be and should have planned accordingly... one of those 'tough luck' situations. Now, I’m truly not sure if this speculation makes any sense and there’s a big possibility that I didn’t understand the lawsuit, just speculating...just for fun. I don't blame the class action filers for seeking redress if they felt the original pension plan would have covered them if the plant had not been closed.
