They seem to be getting a lot of fun out of Palin on Daily Kos.

Comments are a hoot.
The graphic is fabulous. Yes…I’d say they are the right size for ankle-biters.
Just spotted this over at ADN.
“Legislative leaders say they appear to have enough votes to override Gov. Sarah Palin’s veto of $28.6 million in federal stimulus money for energy cost relief. Alaska is the only state to have rejected these funds, and that’s not sitting well.”
http://www.adn.com/palin/story/820095.html
This could be interesting!
Hey guys – a reminder
We are having a swap on the forums. If you have never taken part in a swap before it is oodles of fun, so check out this thread for info.

“Thought” just in! Let’s create a black-comedy musical called, “Sarah Palin: The Musical!” Think along the lines of “The Producers,” and the 60′s gem, “The Loved One.” Tina Fey could star. The dance scenes in the red shoes, with the cossacks dancing across the pond. Levi, hunting, being plucked up by a helicopter while holding on for dear life to his moose’s antlers! (No moose were harmed in making this movie.) The baby making factory scene. The Katie Couric scene. McCain pulling out his hair! Sarah’s dress rehearsal trying to get the empathy belly to look “just right.’ The scene at airport security before the wild ride. Sarah idolizing W on tv for hours on end practicing to emulate his every move.
This could be really big and it it could let Sarah & Todd go back to fish picking.
Add your favorite scenes!
Great graphic! Kudos Dr. Chill.
Now I’m going to have the 12 Days of Christmas going through my head all day: 12 bloggers blogging; 11 haters hating; you get the picture.

I love, love, love the graphic.

UK Lady, hilarious!!!!
UK LADY YOU ROCK!!! Down south we say “draws”!!! Lordy TGIF.
Irish Girl: You made my day! Just supposin’. – - – - they over-rode her, can you imagine the fury? I have been wondering about this, since I couldn’t imagine any legislator who wanted to get re-elected not voting for the stimulus! You are right – this not only could, but should be interesting!
I just read the link to the ADN re: Ligislative over-ride of the energy stimulus package, and am flummoxed by the following statement:
“I’m not sure there’s a point in our overriding the governor’s veto because the governor still has the option of not applying for the money,” the Kodiak Republican said.
Stevens said he doesn’t think it’s worth it to call a special session for a veto override. Legislators are also busy with their regular lives during the summer, and getting them to agree to a special session could be a problem. That means any override vote likely wouldn’t happen until the next regular session starts in January, and it’s not clear the federal government will wait that long.
First of all, why the headlines “Lawmakers muster votes to override governor”, if they are not going to even try? Then I was amazed when Stevens said legs were too busy with their own lives to attend a special session on something this important. Am I dense??? Is there something here I’m not getting?
Does this mean that I have “minions” now?
Whoooopie!!!!!!!
*dance*
tigerwine, there is no way they can compel Mrs Palin to apply for those funds, no matter what they do. In SC, it has taken a fairly lengthy court action to compel their lousy guv to do what’s right, and in that case there was a helluva lot more riding on it.
“Why the headlines?” indeed. Maybe you should be asking, “Why the ADN?”
The paragraph below is mild compared to other things this guy has said. Crazy nut job.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/04/hal-turner-talk-radio-hos_n_211377.html
Hal Turner, Talk Radio Host, Facing Charges For Inciting Violence Against Officials
“We may have to ASSASSINATE some of the people you elect on Nov. 7! This could be your LAST ELECTION CHANCE, to save this Republic… Sorry to have to be so blunt, but the country is in mortal danger from our present government and our liberty is already near dead because of this government. If you are too stupid to turn things around with your vote, there are people out here like me who are willing to turn things around with guns, force and violence. We hope our method does not become necessary.”
New England economy could see gay-marriage boost
Research shows that heterosexual members of the “creative class” — a group that includes financial whizzes, software programmers and educators — tend to regard states that allow gay marriages as more appealing places to live.
“It broadly suggests you have an environment in which people who are seen as different are accepted,” said Gary Gates, the UCLA demographer who was the study’s lead author.

(I don’t know if I like the juxtaposition of “creative class” and “financial whizzes” but I’m happy if they want to progress New England)
Dr. Chill outdid himself. Fabulous graphic. I picture the same graphic with her red ‘ho shoes instead of the bootlets.
UK Lady, your KOS link gave me my morning giggle! Thanks!
About the legs overriding SP’s veto, why can they not do what S. Carolina’s leg did and override the veto and pass a law which forces the gov to take the monies? And, I’m with tigerwine…how on earth could the legs not call a special session to deal with something this important? It boggles the mind.
TBNT Judy,
In SC, it was a lawsuit brought by a teenager (and one other lawsuit?) that brought the court’s involvement. Not the legs.
Smart kid, jaded (adult) legislators. Kid won. YAY KID! (I’m so proud of her you’d think she was family) lol
Nan
Just read Huff Post’s article about the AK leg probably going to override Sarah’s veto.
We lower 48′er are rootin’ for you up there. Hand tough Leg. Let the sun shine in.
The wicked witch of the north is melllllllllltiiiiiing. Ding Dong….
Love the little people and strings connection.
Ever read Swift’s satirical essay, “How to Talk Like a Politican?” Very funny, and especially when you realize Sarah could actually learn from it.
Wanna see karma in action ?

Nan,
My understanding of the course of events in SC is that the Legs overrode Sanford’s veto and passed a budget requiring him to accept the funds whereupon he, himself, filed suit in Federal Court to block them. The state Supreme Court ruled against him after considering arguments contained in lawsuits filed by many students and teachers.
“South Carolina’s high court is ordering Republican Gov. Mark Sanford to request $700 million in federal stimulus money that would head primarily to cash-strapped schools.
The state Supreme Court’s ruling comes a day after hearing arguments in Sanford’s legal fight to reject the money. The anti-bailout governor refused to take the cash even after legislators passed a budget requiring him to do so.”

“Thought” just in! Let’s create a black-comedy musical called, “Sarah Palin: The Musical!”
Back in the late 50′s there was a movie “The Red Shoes.” Grand opera type of plot only with a ballerina as the prima. She wants to be a super star ballerina and puts on the red ballet shoes for their magical powers.
But when she puts on the magical red ballet shoes, they compel her to dance and will not let her stop. She dances the Tarantella (lore that the bite of the tarantula would cause a person to dance themselves to death) and the prima compulsively dances herself to death. I was still pretty young and found the movie nightmarish.
Kind of fits. It’s just hard to accept Sarah as some sort of Classic tragic, Icarus type, figure. Bull in a china shop, rabid dog terrifies quiet neighborhood seems more apt.

TBNT Judy – left you a comment on moose art thread, don’t want to hijack this one.
Aussie Blue Sky said: “In SC, it has taken a fairly lengthy court action to compel their lousy guv to do what’s right, and in that case there was a helluva lot more riding on it.”

there is no Lyda Green in the picture darn! but it’s cute anyway..
Has anyone looked at Gryphens Immoral minority blog – sidebarred on right of this page. He has a very interesting post about Sherry Johnston.
Irishgirl – The Barbarians are playing the Wallabies tomorrow night and I notice you have at least one Irish player in the team, Murphy I think it was. It should be a fun game.
UK Lady – Yes I have just finished reading over there. Very interesting news. Hope it is all true.
Another scene in Sarah Palin: The Musical: (it will be a movie to enable a wider audience to see it all at once.) The Wasilla church choreographed scene with the Reverend Muthee where, mysteriously, Sarah’s Converse All Stars turn red!
UK Lady,
Got it. Thanks. I replied back. Your role as my government teacher is very much appreciated!
UK Lady – Gordon Brown looks like he has a few problems on his plate at the moment.
We are enjoying a long weekend this weekend – celebrating the Queen’s birthday.

@ Marnie: You’re right, the movie, The Red Shoes, is really scary. But when I saw it I paid less attention to the story and just watched the dancing, which is fantastic. The movie came out in 1948, with Moira Shearer as the dancer. The story was based on a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale – that’s a rather disturbing thought, no?
***
I went to the link about Hal Turner. Wow, what a nut job he is. I’m amazed he hasn’t been arrested before now and put away where he can’t harm anyone.
Global Village – Just watching our poll results coming in now, not sure Gordon Brown has a plate left to have anything on it.
@GlobalVillage,
I must look up that player, it could be Geordan Murphy. We also have the British and Irish Lions Tour in South Africa at the moment which we are all excited about….so there is no shortage of rugby at the moment. Another match tomorrow, yoo hoo!!
UK Lady, I saw that too about the mobile phone on Gryphen’s blog. Strange one.

PALIN DOESN’T WANT YOU TO FORGET HER
SARAH Palin, of whom you may have heard, descends on Long Is land this weekend for a charitable fund-raiser. Translation: keeping her name and bones in front of the public. Arrives today and late Sunday makes a pit stop in DC. Melting into obscurity, she isn’t. Alaska’s Gov. is travelling with a posse of eight, including the husband, sister, baby (hers, not her daughter’s), an aide and security guys. The whole platoon is traveling yon and thither via helicopter. A free one. She’s not paying.

I would like to add some musical numbers to London Bridge’s offering of “Sarah Palin, The Musical.” There must be a scene of Levi & Bristol “parenting their butts off” while “home schooling.” It will be a complex number, intercut with scenes of Bristol on TV, counterpoint Levi on TV, Bristol, Levi, oh, my head is spinning.
There should be a specialty number for Todd, dressed in Artic Cat Gear. (They can outfit the cast for free, in return for free advertising. It’s OK, Sarah does it all the time). And we must have a “Sound of Music” type number with all of the kids lined up singing “Dough re mi.” Of course their travel expenses and clothing will be paid for by the show.
The other number is straight out of Gilbert & Sullivan, you know, the word patter song where the singer does each verse faster than the last, with alot of tongue twisters. We’ll have to use the Katie Couric interview word for word which was so successfully repeated by Tina Fey. Advisory to audience: bring alot of headache medicine. If we do it in a London theatre people will be able to drink at intermission. In the States, we’ll have to figure out some way for them to get through two acts without alcohol.

Aussie Blue Sky, you are right about the the Edwards suit. I missed the timing of that. But, apparently, when Sanford filed his suit in Federal court, they returned it to the state Supreme Court and it seems they ruled on his suit as well. I can certainly be wrong, but basically, what I am saying is that it really didn’t take that long for the court process (April 16 to June 4). Why can this not be done in AK?
From the court documents: “Governor Sanford’s refusal to comply with state law is based on what he asserts as contrary and controlling federal law—a claim of absolute discretion under the ARRA, specifically §14005. Although Governor Sanford removed these actions to federal court, the matters were remanded to this Court by order dated June 1, 2009.”

The same thing could happen in Alaska if the will is there. In SC they had $700m for education – together with the long, sad history depicted in ‘Corridor of Shame’ – as their motivation. I saw that documentary yesterday. IMO Sanford was lucky there weren’t riots.

“Culture, Not Biology, Explains Math Gaps, Study Finds
An analysis of contemporary data sets on gender and math ability finds that culture, not biology, is responsible for any gender gap in performance. The analysis appears in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and is based on a series of statistics, showing, for example, that girls at all grade levels now perform on a par with boys on standardized mathematics tests, that American girls are now taking calculus in high school at the same rate as boys, and that the percentage of U.S. doctorates in the mathematical sciences awarded to women has climbed to 30 percent, up from a nadir of 5 percent in the 1950s.”
Well, maybe they do fit cuz the family culture is to do poorly in school.

Palin’s use of the term “bold” has a specific meaning in the context of so-called “spiritual warfare” of Pentacostal Evangelicals. Is there anything that is relatedto the Palin family that has not begun to reek of something very rotten?
I hope the Repugs and other potential empolyers have read Palin’s intro for Reagan. Even as a comentator or talk show host, she is so out of control, I wonder anybody would risk being responsible for what she might say.

I love, love, love the graphic.
I would like to have seen her in her go-go boots, red leather jacket and tight skirt, (mostly because it would irritate her off even more) but I can see the problem considering her horizontal position.

Thanks for the complements everybody.

Excellent Editorial on ADN re: Andree McLoed’s email request and the legal case.
One case involves the governor’s use of private e-mail accounts to conduct state business. She has said she stopped doing so, but the state continues to fight the lawsuit that seeks to end the practice.
AND
The lawsuit says that when Gov. Palin shares official state information with a private citizen — even the governor’s husband — the state has waived any right to keep the rest of the public from seeing it.
In fighting the second case, the state’s lawyers argue the governor can share otherwise secret information about state business with this particular private citizen, because her husband is a “trusted adviser.”
Allowing special treatment for a “trusted adviser” in the public records law is a dicey concept when that adviser is outside state government. What happens if that “trusted adviser” is a lobbyist who cashes in on his or her privileged access to the state’s chief executive?
In this case, the courts need to draw a simple, bright line: If the “adviser” to a state official is not a state employee or contractor, that “adviser” has no privileged access to state information. Any official information shared with that private citizen must be available to the public at large. If the courts don’t draw that line, the Legislature should.</i<

Is Piper on salary? Will she get overtime and travel expenses? It would be so tacky to use the indentured servants.
The only thing missing from the graphic is those red patent leather cork soled wedgies she’s so fond of.
All right, if people can drink between acts, I’m ready for the big number. My inspiration is “Springtime for Hitler” in “The Producers” where the chorus line comes out goose-stepping in those shiny high black leather boots (remind you of anybody?). Just when we expect to see Sarah in miniskirt with her trademark fm boots, she pulls a switch, coyly sticking out one foot with a red naughty monkey shoe. Then, it’s a double switch, and she’s wearing 4″ platform cork sandals done in shiny red leather! In the background, with strains of “A Pretty Girl is Like a Melody” playing, chorus girls parade across the stage wearing all of Sarah’s favorite outfits; we’ll have to steam out the wrinkles because some of the costumes have been in the black plastic garbage bag too long. Do you think that Mel Brooks started like this?

Interesting statement. She is traveling with her husband Todd and daughter Willow, 14. Also along is her sister Heather Bruce and Bruce’s son, Karcher, 14.
After hearing about Tubman’s resilience as she fought slavery, Palin called over Karcher and said, “This is something for you, anytime you go through something tough.”
@@@@@@@@@@@@ What’s this suppose to mean? And what is Palin thinking?
Is Karcher the kid with autism? Or yet another in the ever-burgeoning Heath quiverful?
austintx–hey. just sent you mail on forum. hi mudpeeps. and poor akm. what that dear soul goes through on our behalf. i would just have a nervous breakdown if i found myself in that crowd. just gawd awful people. just trifling….b
Karcher is the boy with autism. They will be walking in an autism walk. This seems to be a pretty well planned trip to appeal to “the base.” I’m wondering what she’ll wear to the Long Island party. That will be an unusual “base.”
WakeUpAmerica Says: where’s Willow?
Willow is skipping school and traveling in helicopters around mid-state NY. There may be a picture of her in one of the photos, can’t tell if it is her, she is in background. The Palins need to stick together and Sarah has several members with her on this trip. Courtesy of the SarahPac expense account. Ak/NY history and Stapleton has set up some prime PR moments. There will be a parade.
Gosh, austintx, I had forgotten all about the ZZ Top song. Now you have really taken me back, and here I am rocking out in my chair again
. Did you know that Billy Gibbons has been making cameo appearances on Bones?

BTW, school is over for the year, so it’s not like Willow is skipping school, this time. The person who had this apparent manifestation of the Holy Ghost knew this apparently because Palin looked right into her eyes with sincerity…from that this person could tell Palin was “the real deal”.
I wonder why Palin failed to move Nick Tucker to the same degree of certitude.
When I have more time I’m going to go back in this person’s blog archives and find out why she thinks “Sarah Palin is not a Racist” (see next-to-last comment).

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/geoffrey-dunn/slap-shot-alaska-legislat_b_212044.html
Her remarks, transcribed quite nearly in full (with hilarious commentary provided) by The Mudflats, included this gem:
Reagan knew that real change and real change requiring shaking things up and maybe takin’ off the entrenched interest thwarting the will of the people with their ignoring of our concerns about future peril caused by selfish short-sighted advocacy for growing government and digging more debt, and taking away individual and state’s rights and hampering opportunity to responsibly develop our resources, and coddling those who would seek to harm America and her allies.
mae lewis, et al: Our fancier theatres in Detroit have the bar open upon entering and at intermission.
That said, why do you all think the Good Lord invented discretely carried FLASKS? They can fit into even the nicest evening bag!
It’s to get through a Musical about Palin or Palin herself.

Also, too: KO is doing a bit tonite on the OUTTAKES of the Barackumentary.
Look at me! I made a “funny”!
Carnegie Hall: BIG TIME! Best to all involved!!!
OK… let me get this straight…
Palin needs BODYGUARDS?
And with that very glaring “need”, she brings her CHILDREN into “danger’s” way? What kind of mother IS she?
If she needs bodyguards, her kids should be far, far away!!!!
What are the bodyguards for, anyway? Is she afraid of an onslaught of folks trying to see her Teen Hooker shoes? Worried about the Tiller murder? What does she all of a sudden need bodyguards for???????????

Campaign… Election… Blah blah blah….
Tripp is born. One month later, Palins kick Levi to the curb.
Levi becomes frustrated that he can’t see his son, things are bad, etc.
Levi goes on … Tyra?… just to tell his side of things.
IMHO: Palins FORCED him into the limelight and then got PO’d that he actually used it to get back at them.
I think his reasoning COULD have been that if he made alot of noise, Palins would shuddup, siddown, and let him have equitable (50%) time with Tripp because they would be so embarrassed with the truth coming out about how they are controlling the entire parenting without giving him a say.
This could be extended to agreement without courts.
No clue on standing at present. Bristol was a be-atch to allow her mother to control things and should INSIST that Levi have quality time with Trip.
Levi, on the other hand, should make a HECK of alot more noise if things haven’t improved yet.
I’ve been saying all along, he should take the baby for an outing and just not return him. It’s not kidnapping… there is no court order and he is the legal father. Then BRISTOL will have to beg to see the baby and see what DENIAL is like.
Knowing Palins, though, they would show up with a cop demanding the baby back. Even without a court order or ANYTHING, the cop would do whatever Palins want so he doesn’t become another Wooten.
I actually feel sorry for Levi. I think he wants to stay out of court, but the Palins make it next to impossible for him to see Tripp otherwise.
Like they are SOOOOO much better than Levi’s family, with a lying hypocritical granny, a B&E sister, etc. It all shakes out when all the skeletons come out.
Both families have their share of dysfunction, but Palins are certainly not “BETTER” by ANY stretch of the imagination.
What a pathetic POS family (Palins, not Johnstons, and because of their holier than thou demeanor)!
Does anyone know of Shannyn will be on the radio Saturday…?
Because there is a LOT.. of STUFF to talk about this week.
Hilarious graphic representation of Palin’s view of the world. Great work, Dr. Chill.
Ironically, all the strings pinning “Gullible” Palin down were generously provided to the little people by……Palin herself. Her bold speech on boldness ( but not much else) was just the latest rope she obligingly handed over to the little people.
* “Gullible” ….credited to Mudpuppy Wannabe, comment #60. Good one. LOL.

wasn’t david carradine, who was just found in this unsavory, precarious situation causing his death, the same guy in the commercials with huckabee??
Hmmm, I thought it was Chuck Norris who supported Huckabee. Not 100% sure on this…

Chuck Norris is a Republican. I’m sure he was the one supporting Huckabee.
Let’s not forget to make sure AKM has as many votes as possible. I think the next deadline is coming soon:

They are starting to put the Bushies in jail….

We should have parties every time one gets sentenced.
mlaiuppa: AKM has 428 supporters. 2nd place only has 81. I don’t think anyone can pass AKM at this point.
But where is the guy who AKM was neck and neck with there for a while? Did he drop out? (Can’t remember his name, but he was in first place for a minute there.)
