Governor Palin? We Can Still Hear You Up Here…

9 06 2009

There were several things that jumped out at Alaskans from the Hannity/Palin interview that taped on Sunday and aired the following night on Fox.  First was the gooey missive on how great it is that Alaskans own the resources of the state, and that the state gives us a nice check every year based on that resource revenue.  After renegotiating the tax rate with oil companies, and using the gain to hand out $1200 checks to every man, woman and child in the state, some Republicans in Alaska were screeching “Socialism!” and comparing her to Hugo Chavez.  All this, of course, was back before Palin became a household name outside Alaska’s borders.  Most Alaskans thought this whole plan was just great.  There were those on the left and those on the right that disagreed with Palin’s tactics, but it was a good lesson in how to become popular.  Hand out cash.

Even Sean Hannity had a moment of palms up, looking skyward, as if to say, “Why can’t this happen in New York?”

Then no more than five minutes later, with no apparent concern about stuff like intellectual or political consistency of even the most rudimentary kind, they were both hand wringing and decrying the evils of socialism.

Next up was this little gem, which can do nothing but reinforce the theory of those who believe there is no way she is running for a second term as governor.  It seemed almost as if Palin strolling through the wooded glen, having a nice little heart to heart with Sean, was oblivious to the outside world, and that Palin herself forgot that we can actually still hear her “way up here in Alaska” as she likes to say.

Maybe because her back was to the camera the whole time, she forgot it was there?  In any case, here’s the conversation.

Hannity: …The price of oil is going up again.  It’s not quite at $140 a barrel, but it’s on its way up to $70 and $80…

Palin:  Yeah, well and I thank God it’s not at $140.  You know people say, “Hey, Alaska!  85% of your state budget is based on the price of a barrel of oil.  Aren’t you glad the price is going up?”    I say, “No!”  The fewer dollars that the state of Alaska government has, the fewer dollars we spend.  And that’s good for our families and for the private sector.

The less we have, the less we spend?  And here we all were worried about the economy. So exactly how much of the 85% of our state budget does she wish will go away?   Inquiring Alaskan minds want to know.  Welcome to the 2012 election.

Whenever Palin says ANYTHING about Obama, there should just be a continous loop on TV with Obama saying “When you can govern your OWN state, and not lie about it, call me. Meanwhile I have a flippin country to run. Wink wink.”

Although her wingnutters will go all kittylitter.

Phony outrage coming from a woman who said “screw political corresctness.” Sarah Palin is a hypocrite. And she is so dumb, she took the top ten list seriously. It was not a distortion by the media. It was a joke. It was not meant to be taken seriously!

Her followers are the same ones who quote Limpballs and the other spewers of hate. Ones that Fox is to intellectual for them to understand. They don’t get wide opinions and no facts whatsoever. They may be vocal (and used to be well funded) but are shrinking in numbers. As long as the Repubs stay on this angry, lying message, the base will shrink even more. In the mean time we have to correct their lies and try to be above the hate and insults.

If Obama were showing up to events in some similar pimp or boy ho outfit people would sure comment.

She is a Muslim diaper baby. She and her Muslim sponsors wish to put her in national office where she will systematically destroy America.

    Stop lying Sarah Palin:

Why won’t you show us the vault copy of your birth certificate?

Who is the secessionist Todd Palin, really?

Is Alaska a real state? And, what about your Russian neighbors?

Wake up sheeple, before it’s too late.

Democrats chill out. What would we do without buffoons like this either running or shilling for the GOP. We’d have to invent them. Now there’s no need because these people are real solid 18ct gold loonies. The base adore them and the other 65% of the country is either repelled or bemused by their antics. Go knock yourself out Sarah and Sean.

What is really sad is that there is only one reason she is governor or a Republcian leader. Her looks. She made it to TV based on her looks and springboarded to a political career. Her mind is mediocre on a good day and really, does anyone think that if she weren’t physically attractive she would have even been elected mayor of Wasilla?
There’s dumb, double dumb, and Palin Dumb. What is even sadder is that she is still in a 3 way tie for the most likely 2012 Republican nomination. She lacks the ability to manage her own family and to step above the fray with her “in laws” for the sake of her grandchild. I am a fiscal conservative and social tolerant and I can’t supporting the Rep party in the next 20 years with the batch of idiots they have.
