Governor Palin? We Can Still Hear You Up Here…
There were several things that jumped out at Alaskans from the Hannity/Palin interview that taped on Sunday and aired the following night on Fox. First was the gooey missive on how great it is that Alaskans own the resources of the state, and that the state gives us a nice check every year based on that resource revenue. After renegotiating the tax rate with oil companies, and using the gain to hand out $1200 checks to every man, woman and child in the state, some Republicans in Alaska were screeching “Socialism!” and comparing her to Hugo Chavez. All this, of course, was back before Palin became a household name outside Alaska’s borders. Most Alaskans thought this whole plan was just great. There were those on the left and those on the right that disagreed with Palin’s tactics, but it was a good lesson in how to become popular. Hand out cash.
Even Sean Hannity had a moment of palms up, looking skyward, as if to say, “Why can’t this happen in New York?”
Then no more than five minutes later, with no apparent concern about stuff like intellectual or political consistency of even the most rudimentary kind, they were both hand wringing and decrying the evils of socialism.
Next up was this little gem, which can do nothing but reinforce the theory of those who believe there is no way she is running for a second term as governor. It seemed almost as if Palin strolling through the wooded glen, having a nice little heart to heart with Sean, was oblivious to the outside world, and that Palin herself forgot that we can actually still hear her “way up here in Alaska” as she likes to say.
Maybe because her back was to the camera the whole time, she forgot it was there? In any case, here’s the conversation.
Hannity: …The price of oil is going up again. It’s not quite at $140 a barrel, but it’s on its way up to $70 and $80…
Palin: Yeah, well and I thank God it’s not at $140. You know people say, “Hey, Alaska! 85% of your state budget is based on the price of a barrel of oil. Aren’t you glad the price is going up?” I say, “No!” The fewer dollars that the state of Alaska government has, the fewer dollars we spend. And that’s good for our families and for the private sector.
The less we have, the less we spend? And here we all were worried about the economy. So exactly how much of the 85% of our state budget does she wish will go away? Inquiring Alaskan minds want to know. Welcome to the 2012 election.

When there just doesn’t seem to be any room to lower the bar, Voila! She finds a way.
OK AKM, thank you – you found what I considered THE DUMBEST part of the Hannity interview. I am still saying, “HUH?” I swear, that particualr word salad cracked me up! I immediately said to my husband (our business is down a bit) – “Hey honey, do not worry if we do not make any money! Stop stressing, it is GOOD NEWS because if we make money, all we will do is SPEND it!”
What a dimwit she is – I honestly believe she was merely trying to be contrary, even though Hannity gave her an opening to show appreciation that AK might be able to have more $ in reserves, she wanted to “show HIM” that she will have the opposite opinion, so there!
You know what I think it takes to be a conservative ‘thought leader’ in this country like Sean and Sarah – to not have a nanogram of self-doubt. You stake out a point of view and don’t let anything shake you from the convictions of your ideology. GWB was a master of this. Truth becomes not just inconvenient (sorry Al Gore), but irrelevant. And the public eats it up because they tell us what we want to hear.
I had to read that several times to even understand what she thought she was saying.
Idiot.
What in the world?
This is not the 1700s. Alaska has roads and street lights and public schools and libraries and police and fire fighters and all sorts of necessary infrastructure one sees in a modern 21st century state. We don’t want the price of oil to go up because we’d spend the money??? Meaning, we’d find ways to spend it if we have it? The money isn’t coming from taxes, it’s coming from product revenue. PRODUCT REVENUE.
What the hell is she saying???
Sorry, to finish my thought…does this mean that she hates Capitalism?
Andrew Sullivan @The Daily Dish shouts out to Mudflats!

@jwa:
The certitude of people like Hannity and Palin goes hand in hand with evangelical “Christianity.” Doubt is not permitted, and “authority” (no matter how dubious) is NEVER questioned. They expect everyone to treat them the same way, and to be exempt from any and all criticism, no matter how valid and necessary.
WOW! I sure hope the price of oil declines again so we can slash more programs and make things better for Alaska families. Maybe the revenue stream will get so low that we won’t have anything to spend at all … and we wouldn’t even need to have a governor!
So, remind me again why she raised the taxes on the oil cmpanies …
Didn’t Palin want the Feds to keep squandering money on the Alaska missile defense boondoggle precisely because “that’s good for our families and for the private sector”?
The scary stings attached to the Stimulus, yet she accepted 98% of the money and then wants $ 600 million more for missiles.
She claimed the transcontinental gas line will be built by private industry, yet forgot to mention the Federal Government needs to provide about $ 40 billion in funding.
They didn’t mention her plan for her administration to consolidate and take over the utilities.
=========================================
I am sooooo fed up with this woman!
What an effing idiot!
I hope someone hangs on to this for the upcoming campaign.
What the…?
This isn’t like going to the grocery store and skipping the chip aisle because you don’t want to be tempted to buy and eat chips all night.
She wants to go to the barter system because she can bake cookies, maybe?
She truly is mentally unwell. Not kidding here.
This would make a great piece for Keith Olbermann’s WTF segment.
Well the real question for Palin is…. why wait for oil prices to go down? Why don’t you cut the tax rate and force the State government through lack of revenue to become smaller. Isn’t she the Governor or is she too busy tweeting?
Reality is that she is a liar and a fraud. She increased tax rate and increased the size of government.
I’m getting tired of this little peekaboo game the Republicans are playing, where all the candidates lined up, panting, for 2012 are saying, “I’m not running for president!” Jindal here in Louisiana is saying the same thing and I know people he’s hired to work on his (“nonexistent”) presidential campaign! It’s all for the consumption of the governors’ home states, but they really do act like we can’t see or hear what they’re actually doing.
And oh, dear, she’s talking about being “bold” again. And once again calling for “the American people’s will” to be “imposed on Washington.” Someone needs to tell the Twit we just did that; it’s called an election, and she LOST.
Far fromFenway Fan Says “! I sure hope the price of oil declines again so we can slash more programs and make things better for Alaska families.”
Don’t forget the jobs lost, as well. North Slope has been slashing jobs for months. Guess it is okay for Palin, now that PAC seems to be paying Todd, to babysit his wife but for everyone else the domino affect of one position cut up there takes away 16 service industry employments. Even those outsiders flown in, staying at hotels and during lay/stay overs funnel a heck of a lot to more then just the Bush Company & Moose’s Tooth.
We lived at the Marriott, for almost a year. Half that time at the Residence Inn. B.P. alone brought in millions a year to the economy relocating new hires.
WTF! GINO really doesn’t understand socialism, I mean she can’t! And there are people who are really excited about this woman being a frontrunner for 2012? I just don’t get it.
I get furious all over again when SP criticizes “the feds” when she is the GINO of a state that has two Senators and a member of Congress, of a state that receives per capita far more than it pays out in taxes. We here in the District of Columbia are STEAMED about that. We have about the same number of residents as Alaska, pay taxes, with no representation!
No mention of the communities that struggled this winter with the high price of oil to heat their homes.
Or that the sharing of profits from sale / developement of natural resources — is socialism.
jwa……….you have her pegged, she doesn’t care about facts and doesn’t offer solutions, she knows she can bs her way into people’s confidence by just TELLING them what they want to here, that is exactly why she is so bogus and dangerous, she’s a hypnotic snake oil seller.
I wish Andrew Halcro would do guest interviews once in a while on what Scarah is trying to pull off, he can splay her arguments wide open and show them for what they are. I know he wanted to drop his focus on her and get back to other things in life but surly he can’t be ignoring her actions completely, and it does still affect him as an Alaskan citizen.
Calling Andrew Halcro, where are you?
Hannity is SUCH a tool.
She really is this stupid and insipid isn’t she? She and Meg must think someday they can replay this clip and say see no socialism here!
I looked up socialism, as I thought maybe I didn’t understand what it is. Nope, I knew, and the definition and examples sound like what GINO keeps saying she doesnt’ like, when in fact, it’s exactly what she is doing in Alaska.
Maybe since you won’t have as much money to spend, you could stop paying her salary? She isn’t doing her job anyway.
Less is more? It just doesn’t matter to her if it makes sense she just spews out this hideous word salad without a care in the world regarding the people she is supposed to be representing. I wish she would just click those horrible, cheezy red shoes three times & wind up somewhere else.
I still want to know “who” wrote her wed. night Michael Reagan speech, because that person TOTALLY blew it, was it Palin herself? (which sounds about right) surely not Mr Bill.
Who pays her?

The devil!
Relax, you “thinking elite”, you! It’s not ‘socialism” when Sarah does it. “Socialism” as a political weapon is pure drivel made up by the Rethugs to scare hard-working Americans. They don’t care about the facts or about the implementation of actual socialism, which indeed what Sister Sarah is doin’ up there, when she’s done chasin’ down Russians and blinkin’.
Palin’s been pallin’ around with terrorists, secessionists, kkk-ers, and socialists for years now, and it hasn’t hurt her one bit. She’s a Republican, so she can do whatever she pleases! Plus, and here’s the beauty, she never gives interviews to anyone other than Fox, so she never has to answer to the contradictions in HRH’s platform.
LOL. As if she had a platform other than her Naught Monkey heels…
There she goes again with that “D” in Economics again.
P.S. HRH’s hair is getting super long — soon she will be the perfect Barbie, with hair that streams down her back when you push the button on her head!!! If she’s doing anything for women (oh, dear), she’s definitely saying you don’t have to worry about looking a certain way for any job — you can wear high heels, have long hair, and still be taken seriously.
(cough sputter) well, OK…somewhat seriously, by Fox News.
I too, found it rather odd that nearly the entire interview was shot from behind the ‘bouf” or in profile…as if she had specifically asked the camera person to highlight the “wonders of weave” or was perhaps trying to hide a big zit!
Wow…this too shall pass.
I think she wants to look like she is a conservative (shrink the government enough to drown it in the toilet -type of conservative), but just hasn’t thought through the logic of it. Bonus points: the rest of the country will soon be upset about high gas prices, and she is deflecting.
How’s it look from under the bus, AK?
What about saving for a rainy day? What about natural disasters, and investing surplus State money for future generations. What about being financially independent? She is obsessed with “less government”, and refused federal stimulus funds. Now she would prefer that Alaskan dollars were fewer and farther between, so she won’t spend more? Very odd thinking…….unless I’m missing something.
I’m getting pretty fed up with her bragging about low or no taxes in AK. My taxes are supporting Alaska! The US govt. collects $$ from all the other states and gives it to Alaska!
Hmmmm….maybe, in the interest of saving $$ and shrinking government, AK should eliminate the position of state Governor. I think they’d get more done – for the benefit of Alaskans!
Hair extensions, false eyelashes, lip tattoo, a new baby(?) a house built by Tawd’s buddies…………………..she is soooooo authentic and real. Smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors. She hides behind all that hoping we all won’t notice she has no substance or credibility. Yup…this interview should be saved for when she announces she is running in 2012. I get angrier by the day that some folks take this woman seriously. Unbelievable.
not that sarah…it’s what referred to as a “weave” for us common folk, or hair extensions if you like the proper term. I think it’s more of a rats nest myself. She probably bought the “Lee Press on Hair” at Claire’s in the mall when Willow picked up some Daisy Dukes for the trip east. Maybe Sarah’s been watching too much “Real Housewives of New Jersey”, and she wanted to fit in…
Good Lord, that family is really trying to live up to the Wasillabilly stereotype.
JRC-Alaska has roads and street lights and public schools and libraries and police and fire fighters and all sorts of necessary infrastructure one sees in a modern 21st century state.
_________Not for long if Palins ‘economic’ plans go right. No one understands the economy like Sarah.
I couldn’t even get through 1/4 of the tape!
Isn’t she a bit long inthe tooth to be wearing her hair flowing down her back like that?
Maybe Obama should just sell Alaska to China or Iraq or Iran, just for a good laugh.
Her hair wasn’t that long before was it?
what is it going to take for people to realize that this woman is frightening. There are many, many people who take her seriously. I hope she takes herself out of Ak. politics once & for all, declare herself a presidential candidate and leaves Ak. politics to the people who care about Ak. If she does run for president the GOP will turn on her. they eat their own. I would, however, love to see her debate Cheney’s daughter.
I’ve visited this site since before the election, but never commented. Like many of the bloggers here I’m very afraid of sarah ever getting even close to the WH. One would think as much of an intellectual featherweight as she is that would never happen But like all of you I lived under the bush regime for 8 years. I think the second 4 of that proves anything is possible. I was curious
if when any of you go to gryphen’s site if your computer goes into meltdown mode? It’s happened to me twice & I’m not comfortable going there anymore….
I especially enjoyed her gleeful clapping. Yeah team go! Clappppppp! Wonder how many times she winked?

I’m so glad I put my coffee down before I read this! ROTFLMAO
palin could see socialism from her house–if she’d open her eyes!
Do her kids still sporadically attend those socialist schools? Does she drive on that socialist highway to work?
Does she still shun that socialist mansion in Juneau that still has to be maintained with socialst funds?
Does Wasilla have socialist street lights, or does each person pay to install their own light and pay the electric bill?
Oh, and her governemtn pay check. Doesn’t that come from OPM (other people’s money)? Sounds socialist to me!
I never could understand why people like Palin and other Republicans who HATE GOVERNMENT want to be in government. They are the least qualified to actually be in government!
Oh, kiksafi50, we can only hope. If she thinks the left hates her wait until she has to debate Huckabee or Romney. They’re right winger fruitnuts but they know their stuff and can speak fluently. She’ll be up there, ignore the question, go doink, wink, clap, clap, shout out, doink, wink, smile and that’ll be that.
Paula Says “Her hair wasn’t that long before was it?”
She needs to lay off the Clairol highlights, that is for sure.

Does she drive on that socialist highway to work?
Now baker, you KNOW she doesn’t actually work.
Amen rocket, and funny how they don’t mind those socialist paychecks, vactions, per diems, heath care benefits and pensions. Ironic.
This means no more per diem for sleeping at home, no more reimbursement for expensive vacations, -er “Alaska business” trips, no need to accept the additional salary rise, and no millions for a book. The Palins would just spend it. Such an inspiration! The Palins will show us the way to thrift and frugality!(Tho I refuse to buy my shoes form the old hooker resale shop.) Whew, and we thought it would be tough to get her away from the big dollar trough.
Isablella, I bet that’s a paint by number highlight kit?
Press on toe nails, too!
If Palin thinks government money is so dirty why does she take it? Couldn’t they be an honest conservative family and live off Todd’s earnings and refuse her paycheck from the people’s republic of alaska?
Yes, Evelyn, she’s giving it all up for beaty school.
Socialist= Bad.
Theif = Good.
Go figure.
OK, I don’t know how I got through the entire interview, but I did. One thing I did enjoy…Sarah Palin is the only person in the world who can out talk Hannity. Dude could not get a word in edgewise. Sarah either drank 3 red bulls or just did some blow…that was the fastest word salad she has ever tossed!
Ellie May Palin needs to stfu.
Paula Says “Isablella, I bet that’s a paint by number highlight kit? Press on toe nails, too!”
Oh yeah!!! She is a cheapo.
Did you see that make up job she did on herself for the New York museum tour? Look like someone got a discount on some ancient Mary Kay from the flea market.
@ Say NO #25:
There’s a thread discussing this question over in the forum.
sarah is SO hoochierific.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hoochierific
Hoochierific, now that sounds VERY Presidential.
Didn’t see the make up job Isablella, but I’ve seen her when she does her own. Just doesn’t look the same as the 20k a day lady did it. But it does match her shiny toe nails better!
Seriously, how do you live with this woman?
That last statement was just so, oh I don’t know, bizarre? It makes no sense on any level. Am I missing something? What was her purpose in making that incredibly lame remark?
Come on people, give her a break. I see the brilliance in her argument. Next time your kids come looking for their allowance give them less than before. If they get upset, just tell them the less allowance I give you, the less you can spend and that is good for them and the rest of the family. They will probably get the same glazed over look that I got from watching that part of her interview. And how is having less money good for our families? I can see how the state having less money is good for the private sector in her mind (a very scary place you don’t want to spend a lot of time in) since she and her ilk want to privatize most, if not all, governmental services. And one last thing, you gotta love what a hard hitting journalist Sean Hannity is, taking on people like Sarah, Dick, and Rush. You know, for a guy with such a big head, he sure is able to stick it up a lot of peoples fourth points of contact.
bucfan, you’re so right. Look at all the folks taking paycuts to keep their jobs, they’re happier than ever and praying for $4 a gallon gas so they can have and buy less each passing week. Come on folks, who DOESN’T wanna live in a box? Who needs all the responsibility homes, education and cars come with. It’s the new America! The have nothings.
Hahahahahahahahaha,, Oh God, this has to be a joke, right? Come on, she didn’t actually say that did she? Ok, now I know for a fact this woman is mentally unstable. How is the blue blazes could anyone in their right mind say something like that. Oh,, I forgot,, Sarah Palin doesn’t have a mind. Its one big empty shell. This woman is so stupid she would probably ask direction to a house warming party next door.
She is just so stupid. What else is there to say but that anymore…
She is a laughing stock and a joke too.
Oh yeah, and the oil companies that operate in AK are saying “thank god” too, because they are paying LESS in taxes to the State than they were before her “let’s scr$w the oil companies and give the money to the little people of AK as a handout” tax structure. The new tax structure, implemented by her & the rest of the legislators who think the oil companies do not do enough for the State, gets Alaska a huge percentage of the money when oil prices are high, but less than the old tax structure when the oil prices are low or reasonable (as they are now). Wonder why anyone would base a tax structure on overly inflated oil prices and then consider themselves some sort of financial wizard who can spew nonsense about “economics 101?”
“The fewer dollars that the state of Alaska government has, the fewer dollars we spend….”
The more socialist dollars Alaska can get from the lower 48 & Hawaii, the states, you know like where we DO pay income, property and sales taxes. Like totally. Wink.
I am just envisioning the commercial…what a great clip. Bet Romney, Huckabee, Christ and the others are on their knees thanking God for this wingnut right now.
And the more Rush talks about HER the better for them.
I always had to wonder what kind of IQ Sarah Palin had. Well that question was answered today when I read this. This woman is not very bright at all. I gave her too much credit at first, no more. This woman is the kind that would looked in a bowl of cheerios and say…”O LOOK, DONUT SEEDS!”’. She would probably need a recipe to boil water. I’m sorry Mudpuppies, but this woman is a piece of work. No wonder SNL had a field day with this woman. Hell, I could write a whole script about this woman. You know what they say the difference between Palin and Paris Hilton is? Both are brainless and made out of plastic. Ok Ok ,, enough. I’ll stop. Sorry, can’t help myself
I do not think that this has been a good week for Palin. And she started off with such high hopes……
I have to apologize to Paris Hilton. I must say she has a little more intelligence than Sarah. Me Bad

Toenails on a blackboard… can’t do it.
My Lord, she speaks like a simpleton. The fewer dollars we have, the fewer we spend and that’s good for families? Tell that to a recently unemployed family trying to pay the rent.
Substance has never been a part of what Gov Palin has tried to share with those who choose to listen. We have children in our school system who can speak more responsibly than Greta’s forever best friend has demonstrated on national television.
Medic!
What is that thing… you only see it on occasion, it is a grayish loop or something that is fluttering? at her midline, but below the belly. Does she have something tied around her hips, low down, and the bow from it is showing? You have to wait til the camera moves back enough, which it does a few times during this video. I can see a darkish line about 4-5 inches below her waist that appears to encircle the skirt, and .. well it’s very odd. It creates the impression of a very slight paunch above it.
BTW I watched the video with sound off. It’s a bit boring but a lot easier on my brain that way.

From time to time commenters have asked people not to judge Christians by SP’s example. May I ask the same favor for conservatives? This is not conservatism, this is idiocy! The capitalist private sector depends on government and public services, and disputing the cost of this or that government service is not the same as claiming that the less spent, the better. Ever try running a business somewhere without roads, police, courts, or a school system? Any entrepreneur out there who wants to have to train employees to read? If the Republicans don’t like what Obama is doing, they ought to remember that they offered the country a VP candidate ignorant of ninth-grade civics. Wasilla, please take back your village idiot.
@austintx….this does not bode well for her.
Off to bed now and will catch up with her shenanigans tomorrow.
Well I just don’t get it. Why is she campaigning for POTUS now? Because clearly, that is what she is doing. Is she using vacation time? Who is paying for all of this? Sorry Alaskans, but it looks like your gov has completely abandoned you. Or should I say, congrats Alaskans, your gov has abandoned you!
No loss, only a GINO anyway.
I find it to be an amazing exercise of her ego that she sets herself up as PO’s opponent. As if she would ever get that far!
Oh, and GINO while you’re ripping open that gash and spewing idiocy, if you don’t want to be accused of dressing like a slutty flight attendant (which was actually kind), then s.t.o.p. dressing like one! Geeze! Get a grip! It’s comedy!
So, what other females in high elected office have hair extensions and decorations on their toes? (For extra points, how many have permanent lip liner?)
Kathleen Sebelius?
HIllary Clinton?
Janet Granholm?
Kay Bailey Hutchison (Wait, that might be a wig)
Angela Merkle?
As the alledged CEO of an entity with one product (oil and gas) why would you want the price of your product to be low (economics101 ?). She is in a difficult position. She has to think of the big companies who get you elected while at the same time toss in enough “good for families” to get the followers in line.
Bill Clinton balanced the budget, invested in infrastructure and technology, and tried to pay down the national debt during the good times. He didn’t pay it out in some socialist program of redistribution.
She’ll be busy tonight tuned in to Larry King to hear the American Chopper Guys talk about her. They are advertising it as part of the soundbyte for the show. King too has stooped to level of low-life. The only thing of interest would be if they show any pics of what they are building or plan to build.
Irishgirl, followed your provided link, so Letterman is pathetic and anyone who called her on her plagiarism is a buffoon? And Newt says that it was okay because he cited her? No wonder that no universities wanted to hire him if he doesn’t even understand the whole concept regarding plagiarism and that if I wrote a paper the same way that she did her speech, I would have been expelled. And isn’t it funny how the woman who gets so upset about name calling is name calling. And I see that this appearance was with another hard hitting journalist. And she won’t leave politics. How else is she going to feed her ego. Just let her keep talking. She will bury herself.
boy, she does NOT like oversight when she’s the one being watched! hmmm
word salad…stop already…video turned off now. arrggghhhh
The “hair” just adds that certain something to the way she forms her thoughts. I know it’s petty to comment on appearance, BUT, she so obviously selects outfits and hair styles to compliment her “Look at ME! Look at MEEEEEEEE!” behavioral repertoire, so what are we supposed to do? I know… ignore the behavior, and it goes away, but I am apparently too weak to ignore the bait. *sigh*

What a pity she doesn’t want to appear credible instead.
Palin said: “And that’s good for our families and for the private sector.”
I’d like to know exactly how less money circulating in Alaska’s economy is good for families and the private sector. The last time I checked, the government pumps lots of money into private businesses around Alaska, and these private businesses employ people who use this money to take care of their families.
Miore money = healthy economy. Healthy economy = benefit to families.

*******
Merkel might be a bigger exhibitionist than the “slutty flight attendant”

David Letterman’s Top Ten Highlights Of Sarah Palin’s Trip To New York
Top Ten
Visited New York landmarks she normally only sees from Alaska
Laughed at all the crazy-looking foreigners entering the U.N.
Made moose jerky on Rachael Ray
Keyed Tina Fey’s car
After a wink and a nod, ended up with a kilo of crack
Made coat out of New York City rat pelts
Sat in for Kelly Ripa. Regis couldn’t tell the difference.
Finally met one of those Jewish people Mel Gibson’s always talking about
Bought makeup from Bloomingdale’s to update her “slutty flight attendant” look
Especially enjoyed not appearing on Letterman

Palin, who was in New York for an autism awareness event before heading to Washington for a Republican fundraiser, responded to the jab from the late-night host on John Ziegler’s radio show Tuesday afternoon, evidently missing Letterman’s intended humor.
You Tube radio interview included.

Sarah thinks Letterman has a news show?
Palin just gets dumber and dumber and DUMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She better be careful, remember how Letterman went after McCain when he bailed on his show? I don’t think threatening phone calls from Todd or Meg
will bother Dave. I think she’s in for it now, she’s not messing with Levi or his family. What a fool, people who think they’re qualified to be president don’t
respond with snark to comedians. She’ll never be ready for the “big leagues”.
In her response to Letterman, she would have us believe her trip was all about the autism walk, nothing else. Given the SarahPAC fundraiser, I have a hard time believing that’s true. I suspect the founder’s day event was just an excuse to get out there to raise funds.
That said, IMO his “flight attendant” list item went too far as a personal attack on someone’s appearance, and looking at the comments today, I’m starting to feel a few of you would have some good laughs at my expense, as well, even though I try to dress appropriately for events (including shoes).
She’s dumb as a bag of hair. And she’s wearing one on her head.
@ #72 John – LOL at Paris Hilton. I really liked the comment I saw earlier about her and the gov having accomplished the same amount on the pipeline.
She isn’t running again for Governor of Alaska…
She has already started her 2012 run for POTUS.
Just listened to Letterman which was funny and her response to him, it will be interesting if he responds back tonight. He’s not concerned who it is. His writers would probably love nothing more than writing more about a politician now that Bush is gone. He had a great time with McCain.
Just read her response to Letterman:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0609/23536.html
Letterman will consider this a gift…can’t wait to watch him tonight!

As one mudpup to another, I doubt anyone here would judge you especially b/c you TRY to dress appropriately!
GINO is a sitting governor. She goes around the country, dressed like a hoochiemama cougar from desperate housewives, binkin’ and winkin’ away!
Red Shoes (notice during the campaign they had her wearing blk pumps, except when she snuck in a couple of toeless ones and naughtly red monkeys.) She is smearing on the makeup!!! I guess b/c of “photo ops’ but really unless you know how to apply makeup professionally, you shouldn’t do it heavy at all. One time I had a “glamorshot” done and looked fab! When I got home and look at how heavy the makeup was applied I was in shock! I could never go around wearing stage makeup like that. Its obvious she is not dressing appropriately for anything, she is dressing like a cheap tart! Not a professional woman.
She just a narcissist and clueless.
And on top of that, with her unprofessional “look” hoochimamatart…she has the unmitigated gall to tell a sitting president what he should and should not do! To me, that’s frick’en nervy, hubris!!!!! People are sick of it!!!
Wow…the crazies are out in full force over at Politico defending Palin. What amusing (or scary) is that none of them know anything about her.
One poster claimed that all those who were NOT supporting Palin were obviously low life losers living in their parents basements (sound familiar?) and they have no idea about living in the real world. HUH?
Oh, I get it…it’s the smart people that are Palin supporters. Those who are against her are the low-life losers. I guess I got that backwards. LOL
I do hope somebody asks her to explain that statement.
Her answer should be – uh – educational?

Sorry, to finish my thought…does this mean that she hates Capitalism?
That was my thought. The money that goes to each Alaskan citizen goes back into the Alaskan economy, that then “grows” Alaska’s businesses. That’s my version of Capitalism.

I am going out on a huge limb here because I know I will make many mudpups mad. Yes, she has done that, and I find it ridiculous because she doesn’t have his intellect, to say the least. She has claimed, among other things, that he was pallin’ around with terrorists. But, has she criticized him for how he looks or what he wears? Others have gone on about his nerdy-father look (not how I feel), and the fact that he doesn’t show up in the Oval Office wearing suit and tie. Many have criticized Michelle’s bare arms, and remember the outrage about Michelle’s outfit when she met Queen Elizabeth? And the fact that Michelle dared touch the Queen? I haven’t read a word from SP about this. To her credit, SP has stuck to being critical of what *she thinks* are issues. IMHO, they are issues only to fire up her base.
Some of us mudpups have said that because she is a public figure, she is open to attack for how she dresses/looks. Do you feel the same way about the Obama family? How do you feel when someone attacks their appearance?
I truly love this community, but when I look at the comments at the C4P site, I don’t see much difference, and that makes me sad. We need to be above this.
TheRightReverand
She wants to go to the barter system because she can bake cookies, maybe?
Alaska grows a lot of flour, lard, sugar and chocolate chips, mabye?
I mean if Sarah’s gonna trade her oil for those things somebody needs to explain to her that she needs infrastructure.
yes, Bucfan…….and she also believes that “people” (including herself) have the right to take a risk in businesses and fail, this is an American right.
She said “if I die, I die” meaning if, for this effort of her’s, she fails and bites the dust, oh well, at least she can say to herself she gave it a go, my best to set this country straight. She takes a stand for the country as a whole, did what she thought was right.
Fine for her, (personally) but is it fair to Alaskans? She’s referring to taking political risks “beyond” her “duties” as governor, which I do not think fair to Alaskans. She ‘says’ “Alaska first” because that is of course what the people of her state desire to hear, it pleases them, but is taking on the president of the whole country in this media blitz in Alaska’s best interest? Does what she is saying apply to Alaska? or does it apply to her political ambitions beyond Alaska. Listen to what she is saying.
Alaskans…….can you take Scarah to the bank? Is she gonna float? Is she your business risk? a good risk, a risk you trust and are willing to take, for yourself? because that is your risk. She’s willing to gamble with her BS, do you back her, as business partners? What do you think the odds are? Are you feeling lucky?

lol……like when has she been asked to clarify, without her taking offense.
New title for upcoming Palin book: “Alaskanconomics 101, as explained by Sarah Palin”
there are two kinds of socialism. bottom up and top down. in the last 30 years the largest transfer of wealth ever occured via “increased productivity” from workers of all sorts, white colar, blue collar, even red collar (snark) to the very top echelon of “corporate amerika”. The bottom feeding the top. no problem with that, eh?
crazy palin and sean insanity rail against top down socialism while making their fortunes and spending monies from “bottom up socialism” and or making it “top down socialism”. sarah spends it and insannity makes millions faux news. that is INSANE!!!!
and crazy sarah asks for FEDERAL FEMA funds and the crazy c4p heads say Obama will hold up the $$ to make her look bad..these folks are deranged.
Why is Palin’s back to the camera for most of the interview??? Does anyone else find this ODD?
Thanks, caligrl. I must admit I appreciated the photo comparison that was at a link posted on this site somewhere where you could see what she wore when the RNC dressed her compared to what she looks like when she dresses herself. There was a definite difference. I’m surprised she didn’t learn anything.
@ Marnie, I hope she has to explain that statement too.
If anybody finds a link of her explaining this one, please post it. As an Alaskan, I’m most interested in seeing what she has to say for herself.
@ trisha, I agree with you; her fans know very little about her personally and nothing about her political record, and their willingness to believe anything they are told and to blindly follow her anywhere are scary. If I were her, I’d be worried about some of those creepy people so obsessed with her.

It creates the impression of a very slight paunch above it.:
Sorry there’s no way I’m ruining my day by watching and listening to her.
But I’m wonderig. If they used wirless mic’s it might be her battery pack.

Any of the above. How about Sosomayor, Ginsberg, Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meier.
The reason Palin is not looking at the camera is because the entire interview was all about poor little RICH boy Shameless Hannibal. He tries to make us believe that his is just one of us, We don’t make $10,000,000 a year plus so he isn’t one of us. And Palin, I have never found her particularly attractive. Too much make up and she needs some personal dresser advice. I am glad she isn’t my governer.
boo boo bear…….the sea 4 pee group were totally bent out of shape about that, hating to see the back of Scarah’s head instead of her “beautiful” front side, they blamed Hanity for being the camera hog, his show ya know.

I am going to go post Immoral Minorities plea for sanity to them over there.
“The fewer dollars that the state of Alaska government has, the fewer dollars we spend. And that’s good for our families and for the private sector. ”
2009 STUPIDEST QUOTE OF THE YEAR!!!
I just LOVE the fact that she complained about Dave. He will take shots at her mercilously . And if Dave is doing it… Craig Ferguson will probably follow the lead as well.
In her ‘ mind ‘ I guess she thinks she is the top dog because she is able to bully people around in Alaska and she thinks like that. She may not know it Yet… But Letterman is NOT the Eddie Burke Show.
Kinda in response to JRC in #5, John @ #67, SMR in #69, Paula in #70, lynnrockets in #79, trisha ub #89, Blooper in #103, and anyone else I missed:
Palin’s echo chamber headlined, “Oil Rebounds, Governor Urges Continued Fiscal Restraint”. Sounds pretty reasonable, doesn’t it?
This is her press release explaining her bungled way of describing Alaska economics:

I read something over there a month or so ago that I could make no sense of at all either. (as well as everything they think and write about)
They were complaining about the nicknames (GINO or one of the many) for her on Mudflats or on one of the other blogs. They got real ‘ ADAMENT’… and said we refer to her as “Barracuda” (them… explaining this was a GOOD thing) but they would never ‘disrespect her by calling her ” Cuda”….?
Helloooo…. Buehler…?. It’s the SAME THING !!
There is no rational thinking. The mentality just can NOT be explained. And many of the Headline stories use the word Barracuda right in the Headline. It’s just tooooooo Goofy.
And I laugh real hard every time they post a story calling her ‘ Barracuda’
Barracuda??? Are you serious??? She is a cry baby and is always playing the victim role. Their Barracuda is a wimp by any standard.

Someone else pointed out that Palin wrongly stated that Alaska has no sales or property tax in this Hannity interview. I looked up Juneau’s tax rates to confirm and yes, indeed the governor made another error:
http://www.hss.state.ak.us/dph/
Does Sarah Palin really not know this info? How? Has she never paid property taxes?
Sorry, I meant to post the link to Juneau’s tax rates but, made a mistake and now, the spam filter is blocking me.
I’m no fan of Governor Palin, but I do believe I understand her appeal. She gives voice to the darkest fears a certain amount of our country’s population struggles with on the daily basis. And whether purposeful or not she uses those fears to her advantage. When she speaks it rarely if ever touches on ways to substantially lead the state of Alaska or even the Republican party, instead her air time is spent invoking the terrors of our age and ages past. This was clearly illustrated with her speeches during the Presidential race of how close Russia’s border is to Alaska, how president Obama ‘pals’ around with terrorists, and differentiating between real and false Americans. But her base isn’t concerned or interested in facts or logic, they instead look at her and I believe see a reflection of themselves. A better, brighter version but nonetheless they see themselves staring back in the ‘mirror’. We can laugh at her apparel choices, the way she comports herself, and her poor English in both the written and spoken word, but to others those very things are her appeal. She truly is an example of beauty (or in this case competency) is in the eye of the beholder.
I think you are right Glenda. My brother in CA said (when I sigh and groan about her_- “Well, you all elected her.”
We must get strong behind a candidate so this doesn’t happen in 2010. Haven’t heard any word about Bob Poe lately.

She said that AK doesn’t have a sales, income or property tax – state wide.
@ #119 Say No to Palin in Politics and others who caught the quote:
‘If I die, I die’ is from the Old Testament Book of Esther. Esther was lusted after by King Mordecai, and Esther was willing to ‘give herself’ willingly to save her oppressed Hebrew people. Esther is the only book in the Bible that does not use the name of God in its narrative.
IMHO, the message here is to the fundamentalists of the Apocalypse Now Doctrine adherents. It is brave and patriotic for Sarah to blatantly use her sensuality to ‘save’ the base. Her example is mirrored in the highly decorated (and sometimes desperately painted ladies) of Republican Christian women freeping about. Think MN Bachman, and other nutter women who stand on God’s Manifest Destiny for the ‘right Americans’ platform.
jeez, that’s just creepy, dowl. And I don’t disbelieve your take on that at all.
Just a reminder, I posted the entire transcript of this interview on the forum should anyone want to review what was said without having to listen to it over and over again.
To get Palin to sit down and shut up, simply handicuff her. I don’t think she could utter a word, if a way could be found to restrict her annoying hand gestures.
To jc in co (comment #44), I also have trouble at The Immoral Majority…the site totally locks up my computer. So, I, too have quit going there although I enjoy his site.
I have read so many articles about SP this weekend, so I don’t remember where I read that she said AK provided 17% of American’s domestic energy. According to FactCheck.org – AK only produces 3.5% of domestic energy production, according to the Us Energy Information Administration. And if Palin meant energy consumed in the US, AK only produces 2.4%. I would like to know where she gets her figures from or does she just dream this stuff up.
Less money, less to spend…a good thing? Is this more of Econ101 she learned in one of those 5 colleges she attended?
Funny thing about “Sarah Barracuda.” They think it’s a good thing related to her aggressive play on the court. Local legend, however, says it is related to underhanded conduct off the court to make sure she got plenty of playing time over others on the team. Rumor also says it carried into her days at city hall for her ruthlessness there. I can’t say for sure, but I’m inclined to go with the latter explanation.
Everybody can check out the Letterman highlights AGAIN… tomorrow.
GINO should have shut her trap. Dave’s writers have more jokes about her. Various jokes.
Mentioned the fact that she plagiarized a speech. Yeah… Sarah the ADN pulled your plagiarized speech story and then Dave mentions it on ‘ NATIONAL TV’.
Said she did it before… does a short comedy bit saying she took a speech from Calvin Coolidge.
I hope she comments again tomorrow.
She’s leaving for higher office and we’ll be rid of her. Let them eat her up beginning now.
Whenever Palin says ANYTHING about Obama, there should just be a continous loop on TV with Obama saying “When you can govern your OWN state, and not lie about it, call me. Meanwhile I have a flippin country to run. Wink wink.”
Although her wingnutters will go all kittylitter.
Phony outrage coming from a woman who said “screw political corresctness.” Sarah Palin is a hypocrite. And she is so dumb, she took the top ten list seriously. It was not a distortion by the media. It was a joke. It was not meant to be taken seriously!
Her followers are the same ones who quote Limpballs and the other spewers of hate. Ones that Fox is to intellectual for them to understand. They don’t get wide opinions and no facts whatsoever. They may be vocal (and used to be well funded) but are shrinking in numbers. As long as the Repubs stay on this angry, lying message, the base will shrink even more. In the mean time we have to correct their lies and try to be above the hate and insults.
If Obama were showing up to events in some similar pimp or boy ho outfit people would sure comment.
She is a Muslim diaper baby. She and her Muslim sponsors wish to put her in national office where she will systematically destroy America.
Stop lying Sarah Palin:
Why won’t you show us the vault copy of your birth certificate?
Who is the secessionist Todd Palin, really?
Is Alaska a real state? And, what about your Russian neighbors?
Wake up sheeple, before it’s too late.
Democrats chill out. What would we do without buffoons like this either running or shilling for the GOP. We’d have to invent them. Now there’s no need because these people are real solid 18ct gold loonies. The base adore them and the other 65% of the country is either repelled or bemused by their antics. Go knock yourself out Sarah and Sean.

What is really sad is that there is only one reason she is governor or a Republcian leader. Her looks. She made it to TV based on her looks and springboarded to a political career. Her mind is mediocre on a good day and really, does anyone think that if she weren’t physically attractive she would have even been elected mayor of Wasilla?
There’s dumb, double dumb, and Palin Dumb. What is even sadder is that she is still in a 3 way tie for the most likely 2012 Republican nomination. She lacks the ability to manage her own family and to step above the fray with her “in laws” for the sake of her grandchild. I am a fiscal conservative and social tolerant and I can’t supporting the Rep party in the next 20 years with the batch of idiots they have.
Palin’s words:
” Yeah, well and I thank God it’s not at $140. ”
This quote is now hot of the tail of the number ONE dumbest thing ever ever said, anywhere, to anyone, about any subject…Running hard at chimpy bush’s words of ‘Bring it On”…
dear sweet hokies… how could she not be ridiculed and lampooned when such incredible stupidity falls out of her mouth every time she opens it?
I don’t see any beauty about her. Sarah Palin is showing her age rapidly. Her features are sharp looking, cross looking as well. She has one eye that turns in and that goes along with the rest.
If she could think kind thoughts it might soften her face.
