Palin Roundup – Make it Stop!

dcccrsvp

It’s hard to keep up with our traveling governor these days.  Everywhere you turn, there she is.  I’ve gotten more emails and links and stories than I know what to do with, and frankly the thought of writing up a whole post on each of these things gives me a precognitive headache just thinking about it.  We’ve all got Sarah up to the eyeballs.  But, for those of you who want to comment on any of the multitude of Sarah Palin stories out there, here’s the thread.

This is so “last week”

The Alaskan blog Mamadance has an excellent wrap-up of the Palin shenanigans last week here - Putting the P in WraP-uP just in case you missed anything.

Best Foot Forward?

Then, in the Big Apple, we had the mystery of the toenails.  What the heck IS that on Sarah’s toes?  You can vote HERE.

Number Crunchery

We’ve also found out that the “most popular governor in the country”….. isn’t.  Nate Silver, numbers wizard from Five Thirty Eight reveals that Palin now ranks an ignominious 36 out of 50.  Ruh roh…  Who’s number one?  Wyoming governor Dave Freudenthal.  And he’s a Democrat!  Go figure…

Now, children….

The Political Carnival asks, “Am I going to have to turn this blog around?”  David Letterman zinged Sarah Palin with a “slutty flight attendant” reference, and she called him “pathetic.”  Catch the whole story with videos HERE.

Begich Rising

Great article in Politico about the once semi-cozy, now chilly relationship between Governor Palin and Democratic Senator Mark Begich.  Their approval ratings are in the same ballpark with Begich moving up and Palin…well…. Do you hear that whistling noise?  That’s her approval rating plummeting from the cosmos and careening toward Earth.

And the former Anchorage mayor — perhaps emboldened by Palin’s nose dive in state opinion polls — has begun using the jet-setting governor as a political foil, contrasting his workmanlike, Alaska-obsessed approach with the glamorous governor’s appetite for Republican superstardom and the national stage. [snip]
Begich watchers say he’s trying to capitalize on the Palin paradox: The more she becomes the World’s Most Famous Alaskan, the more diluted her appeal to actual Alaskans, who expect their politicians to deliver federal funding — and not tabloid headlines.

The entire article is definitely worth a read.
MORE MONEY!!!
Sarah Palin needs more money!  That’s right.  You’ve donated to SarahPAC, you’ve donated to the legal defense fund, but there’s still more.  A fundraising letter went out from the Clare Booth Luce Institute.  Hey, liberals!  Do you want to know why you hate Sarah Palin?  “Because she’s a powerful woman who’s also a conservative,” THAT’s why.  Humph.
Apparently, that just drives us liberals “crazy!”  There’s nothing we hate more.  Here’s a copy of the whole thing, including the resurrection of the “lipstick on a pig” line from the campaign, which went from “you know the old saying” status, to personal porcine insult in the wink of an eye, because it was uttered by Barack Obama.
I noticed part way down where it said, “Sarah Palin is a proven reformer, and the most popular governor in America!”   Oops!  Guess they haven’t read Nate Silver’s latest.  I wonder if they’ll change that line to read, “She’s the 36th most popular governor in America!”  Probably not.  But here’s a little envelope for your check.  I expect by the time election season is in full swing, we’ll have them standing on street corners with “Poor Sarah” signs and little tin cups.
*************************
That’s it for now.  I’m on a Palin hiatus.  Don’t forget that the public hearing for the Anchorage non-discrimination ordinance starts at 5pm Alaska time in the Assembly chambers of the Loussac Library.  Every voice, and every person is needed.  Speak, support, or bear witness…but please be there if you can.

ONE Christian Finally.. is bringing up the blatant in your face issue they should be at least piping about .. of course the woman/man was tore to shreds.. she/he responded very intelligently.. before they are removed as is typical here are a few

Paula & Christian & Guests said… The Lord does not support women wearing short skirts and red shoes. It’s haughty and certainly not modest. Ms. Palin should know this if she actually read the Bible. Shame on her. She needs to dress like a woman of the Lord. What would Jeus think?

Paula & Christian & Guests said… If Sarah is to be a true Christian leader, then the least she could do is dress according, regardless of what Lettermen said. If she dressed properly we wouldn’t be hearing about these comments, would we?

I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God. (NIV, 1 Timothy 2:9-10)

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. (NIV, 1 Peter 3:2-5)

I grew up in a holy roller church.. I dislike Palin because of her snarkiness and just meanness.. it is creepy.. and more and more but she could be in a bikini and I could care less.. although that might be a little scary.. her current garb can be made curvy by the amazing lingerie these day (those rubber body shapers..) .. but in the church wearing makeup.. or too much, heels that were higher than a few inches.. basically you weren’t to try to be “Sexy” .. it creates “Lust” which is sinful.. I wonder why these “Christians” havent addressed it.. hello?

Let me tell you, most of the conservatives featured on the calendar were as ugly on the outside as they were within, with the exception of Michelle Malkin. Her, it’s just what goes on under her scalp that makes me want to wash out my soul.

I wish I wish oh how I wish – that there would be a huge crowd in AK to greet GINO’s plane when she returns. There is no shortage of words to put onto the signs. Why not a protest? She has obviously made her intentiions clear (2012 candidate for POTUS) – so it is NOT too soon. There has to be more people fed up with her idiocy and antics than ever before (see refusing energy stimulus funds for just one example). What does a person like her DO if there is a large crowd of dissenters at the airport? Take their names and their “station call letters?” Maybe Alaskans for Truth still has enough funds and organizational skills in place to make it happen? Please?

TRULY SINCERELY AKM is off the hook with smart, informative, comedic, news.

I have never ever seen anyone from Mudflats even hint at a donation or token of appreciation for all AKM does and we all see everyday how plentiful her actions are toward riding us of evil doers :) I have been contributing to other sites, which are really great but never knew Mudflats accepts contributions as well. Someone shown me yesterday there is a little itty bitty link up on the right if anyone is so inclined.

If you ever get an itch to go get a cup of coffee or a Starbucks smoothie, I would sit back, grab a glass of ice water and toss a five or whatever to AKM. Never asked for, never expected but totally deserved.

If Palin, can all these B*S* funds to paint her toenails red we should start a fund for AKM to get out of dodge when Palin, is finally held to the mat and her govs badge removed :) Cause, it is not going to be pretty.

Whether this is the intention of the cheney crime family (or not, but I wouldn’t put it past them), methinks the days of SP’s fame are on the wane…. at least in terms of high national office.

Keep an eye on Liz cheney. SP may want money to challenge Baby Dick cheney.

What really makes me mad is that as Sarah lashed out at Letterman, she said, It’s sad because it was all about the children. OMG….I almost puked.

I guess all those photo-opps weren’t about Sarah, but they were about the children. I guess the GOP dinner that she made a stink about wasn’t about her either.

If Sarah was so concerned about autistic children, she wouldn’t have to travel all the way to NY to “raise money”. She is the governor….how about actually doing something in Alaska for these children. She is such an opportunist and a fraud. It makes me angry that she says things like this without anyone calling her on it.

Our family has an autistic child (actually, now adult) and it really upsets me the way she, once again, paraded a child around for her own political gain. I guess she already used her own children, so now it’s time to move on to her nephew. She has no shame.

I don’t think she knows that Letterman does comedy, and makes jokes about what’s in the news. What’s interesting is how thin her skin is, and how she has to defend herself against any comment. Even more telling was the utter denial of “incorporating” Newt’s comments almost word for word in her recent speech. She lives in a different reality.

    C O O L!!!

Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s ever-evolving saga on the American political stage now has a direct connection with Santa Cruz – or at least to one man in Santa Cruz.

Local writer and filmmaker Geoffrey Dunn, author of “Santa Cruz Is in the Heart,” found himself in the center of the embattled Alaska governor’s political life last weekend after he alleged in a story on the Huffington Post that Palin, in a speech last week, lifted passages from Newt Gingrich without attribution.

Dunn’s charge has a bigger context. He is, in fact, writing a book about Palin and her political career in Alaska. The book, to be published by St. Martin’s Press, is scheduled for a spring/summer 2010 release.

Conservatives hate Barack Obama because they are bigots, and can’t stand that he is the most powerful person in the world! He is the President of the U.S. He is the leader of the free world! Something Sarah Palin will never be. Sarah Palin is not the most popular governor, anymore. But President Obama is one of the most popular people in the world! And conservatives can’t stand it! Sarah Palin and the Palinbots are a bunch whiny toddlers. Geez.

Barack Obama could top $400,000 in one month. I don’t believe SarahPac made $400,000 in a month. During the campaign the McCain campaign would lie about her and John McCain’s crowd sizes at their campaign rallies. Trying to top Barack Obama. Never. Sarah Palin has never drawn 100,000-200,000 people like Barack Obama has. If SarahPac was making so much money, why would she need to charge people $5,000 for a picture with her? Plus, Palin and her people lie all the time. They are desperate. Sarah Palin and her followers act like they are in junior high. She is unprofessional. She is worse than George W. Bush. Palin think’s she’s going to get a free ride in 2012. The republican primaries are going to be a blood bath. (And of course, Palin’s mouth will surely get her into more trouble.) I can’t wait to see how this psycho reacts. Palin and the conservatives won’t be able to blame the liberals. But they will, anyway. Conservatives, and Sarah Palin are jealous of Barack Hussein Obama.

AKM is in the THICK of it right now!!!

The Anchorage Assembly has begun a public hearing on a controversial ordinance that would ban discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. The measure has packed the panel’s chambers, with people spilling over into the Marston Theatre.

Hundreds of people are also outside the building, lining each side of the drive in front of the Loussac Library.

Red clad opponents toting signs that say “No on 64″ — the number of the ordinance — are on the south side. Supporters are on the walks closest to the building, loudly chanting “Separate Church and State.”

Eagle River-Chugiak Assemblyman Bill Starr and city finance officer Sharon Weddleton stepped outside to watch. They said they’d never seen anything like this at an Assembly meeting in Anchorage. Starr said everyone seems to be trying to stay civil.

Security guards at the door to the meeting room collect driver’s licenses as people want to step out. People have to identify their own license from a three-inch thick stack in the guard’s hand when they return.

Assembly chair Debbie Ossiander says 180 people have signed up to testify as of about 5:15 p.m. Ossiander says she feels obligated to let all of them have a chance to be heard, but reminded everyone there’s a three-minute time limit and that she will try to hold people to it.

GOP insiders talking critically about Palin after the Republican Senate House dinner/fundraiser:

“For a ‘woman of the people,’ she has got some learning to do,” sneered the insider. “Heck, she has a whole lot to learn. And get some decent staff around her. Most of the mistakes since November are not people out to get her. They are 99 percent self-inflicted by her own staff who are simply not up to the job of effectively serving a national political figure, which is what she has become.”

    http://www.usnews.com/blogs/washington-whispers/2009/06/09/sarah-palin-snubs-washington-insiders-at-senate-house-dinner.html
    —————————————————-
I agree that her mistakes have been ” 99 percent self-inflicted” but I’m not so convinced that it’s ALL her staff’s fault. It’s patently obvious that Palin clutches tetanically to the control of all decisions in her sphere of influence….and she’s totally refractory to learning. As a result, her poor decisions have resulted in an embarrassing, unending string of mistakes and goofy gaffes….making her appear unpredictable, unstable, and untutored.

The GOP may “use” her for fund-raising etc. but it’s clear from increasingly public GOP comments, (as in the article above, Gingrich’s comments in April, and the McCain staffers last fall), that not even the GOP takes her seriously.

A whole battalion of savvy advisors couldn’t turn this sow’s ear into a silk purse….and she wouldn’t let them anyway. She’s proud of being a sow’s ear. More power to her…..a sow’s ear belongs on a sow which belongs in a barnyard wallow. She can “screw political correctness” while wallowing….

The requested donation is for the Clare Booth Luce Institute not Palin. I can’t see a “Sarah Palin approves this message” or similar (or is that necessary for this?).

Effectively they are looking to raise money off the Palin name/controvesies.

They send out a letter all about how someone in the public eye is being attacked, make it look as if they are organising a support campaign and then ask for money for THEMSELVES not for the person they claim to support.

They are looking for DUMB people.

An Alaskan resident should be able to ask SP if she is aware of it.

This should be forwarded to SarahPAC, Alaska Government etc for confirmation or not that Palin is involved and, if not, we can watch the infighting that developes.

But it’s not The Big Apple which is roughly 29 miles and approximately 45 minutes (when there’s not too much traffic) and several light years south of Purchase, NY.
