Well CNN has picked up the story of Celtic Diva and the Eddie Burke Baby photo. Megomouth has issued a statement and I guess Palin did as well via her “facebook” (seriously what kind of politician uses facebook to issue statements?)

Sarah Palin has teed off against another mocking observer — this time a local blogger who edited a photo of the governor and her youngest child to include a local conservative talk show host.
In a statement sent to Politico, Palin’s spokesperson said:
Recently we learned of a malicious desecration of a photo of the Governor and baby Trig that has become an iconic representation of a mother’s love for a special needs child.
The mere idea of someone doctoring the photo of a special needs baby is appalling. To learn that two Alaskans did it is absolutely sickening. Linda Kellen Biegel, the official Democrat Party blogger for Alaska, should be ashamed of herself and the Democratic National Committee should be ashamed for promoting this website and encouraging this atrocious behavior.
Babies and children are off limits. It is past time to restore decency in politics and real tolerance for all Americans. The Obama Administration sets the moral compass for its party. We ask that special needs children be loved, respected and accepted and that this type of degeneracy be condemned.

I do wish that Diva hadn’t removed the photo of baby burke though because now they will perceive this as a “win”, just like when Letterman apologised.
All this poutrage from Megamouth and Palin against Diva about the photo is more bullying and intimidation. Diva is getting too close with her email fund etc.
Palin thinks she won that little vendetta with Letterman, she needs to use some of that dodgy fund of hers to go and buy herself a clue. While she is at the Clue Shop she should see if they have any 2 for 1 offers and get a sense of humour ‘also’. She is going to need one if she carries on in politics.
Letterman is not finished with her by a long shot, and Diva will keep her cool.
p.s. Diva will probably be getting a hell of a lot more traffic to her site because of this new Palin brouhaha, no doubt some of them will chip in to her fund for the emails. Those palinbots are so so so stupid.
I can’t even believe that they would suggest that President Obama get involved. The blogs are filled with attacks against President Obama and the First Lady every day, and I don’t hear the President whining about bloggers.

The MSM picking up on this isn’t what you think. This displays the stupidity of her choice of battles. Her choices of battle are those that should be included in the tabloid rags — not on the national political stage.
Palin saw and thought this as an opportunity to follow up after her initial gain of her battle with Letterman about her daughter — this time using the baby. Clearly shows how they have no ability to look outside the box to realize whatever gain they got — this choice of battle will cost them that support.

Most people live moral lives based on the values taught by their parents. Others follow biblical standards, or alternative religious standards, etc. People use their conscience as a guide, and thankfully, most treat others as they would want to be treated. So, does she think that the Obama Administration has this instruction manual on setting morals in the party?
President Obama has carried himself as an honest, sincere individual, I have not heard him speak maliciously about anyone, no snarkiness, nor pot shots to his critics. He has earned the respect he deserves, and hasn’t been challenged by ethics complaints as yet. Huffpo has the original Photoshop ( with reference to Eddie )and so Meg has done and created 1000′s of hits and interest that I or anyone else could ever have done. Meg is ” AMAZING” !! thank You !

Honestly that is because they (Palin groupies) dismiss Gryphen as a “truther” whereas they feel truly threatened by Celtic Diva. They have been going after her for a long time now. She has gotten hate email from them, and at least one of them has called her several times, once in the middle of the night. These people are sick..sick. The comments they make about Diva are absolutely disgusting, all the while proclaiming themselves to be above that sort of thing.
Two things really stick out about Meg’s comment (which I’m sure Palin fed to her)
1. They are claiming “malicious desecration of a photo”? Desecration? Does she think this photo is liken unto the Madonna and child? Shouldn’t Christians be offended that Palin has just declared photos of herself to be a sacred?
2. Her statement refers to the photo as an “Iconic” image of a mother who loves her special needs child.
Iconic? Really? Usually one becomes an icon—but generally, people do not declare themselves to be an icon or photos of self as iconic.
Wow. This speaks volumes. Palin not only declares photos of herself to be iconic, she declares images of herself to be sacred.
I think the Wasilla Imbecilla has now become a ‘special needs’ adult. Is she wants her kids out of the spotlight, she shouldn’t use them in photo-ops. It’s that simple.

I’d be real careful about latching on to the “claims” of the anon poster. There are some real odd phrases in those rants: net worth, that harvard is watching Palin, “federal internal investigation,” etc. A real discordant rant.

I just posted part of Shannyn Moore’s article from August 29th last year, and Lee Tompkins article from January 19th of this year, on Palin’s irresponsibility in how she dealt with the last days of her pregnancy with Trig.
They’re up at Progressive Alaska as Chapters 70 and 71 of Saradise Lost, Book 2. I can’t wait until the book is complete.
Mag Stapleton is an awful spokesperson, but I understand that she’s a very good mom – she keeps her kids completely out of the public eye.
Palin, OTOH, is both an awful advocate and an awful mom. Her conduct in the last days, weeks and perhaps months of her last pregnancy probably shortened the poor kid’s life, probably made the lifetime effects of his Downs syndrome worse.
This so called iconic photo has been doctored before with no outrage. During the Letterman dustup, there was a version with Letterman’s head replacing baby Trig’s head. No outrage there.
So the reasons for the outrage are simple:
She cannot stand being out of the spotlight; the nerve of that Sanford guy hogging the press now.
She is trying to distract people from speculating about whatever the newest ethics charges might be about.
This is the price one pays for shamelessly trotting their kids out in public at every opportunity. It is sheer hypocrisy to shout “privacy” when dragging them around in the National Spotlight (2008 Campaign) for two months. You can’t have it both ways.
Some one has told Sarah that she cannot react personally to every critical comment. But, if it’s about the children, you can be as thin skinned as you like. Seems to be working out so far.
Sarah’s delusions of religious grandeur are on a roll and appear to be ever increasing. How does one get away with calling themselves (or images of themselves) iconic. A truly alarming (and disturbing) comment for a politician’s spokesperson to make on their behalf.
It sure would be interesting if one of Jack Cafferty’s questions today was about the Palin outrage. Does the Cafferty File let you pose questions..?

“Desecrated” an “iconic” photo? Are these people serious? No really this is a joke right? Sorry but Palin is no saint and a photo of her holding her handicapped child is not “iconic” nor can it be “desecrated”. That is simply ludicrous.

I keep posting to tell them to read the story and click on the link—-it’s not about Trig. But, others need to do the same.

If Sarah’s truly upset about the photoshopped image of her son Trig, why isn’t she equally upset that she leaves him home a lot of the time while jetting off to locations days at a time. I would think a baby wouldn’t care about his face being replaced on a page; however, I would think he would want his mommy home with him.
Regarding Palin’s latest twits……If the kids are off limits, why is she posting photos of them online? Shouldn’t she be trying to shield them from the glare of the media? Once again, she throws them in the public eye.
Trisha – I have a feeling that a decent percentage of the people posting “I’m not a fan of Palin, but ….” are indeed Palin fans. I think it’s a bit of smoke and mirrors. I also agree with you entirely that we need to be putting the facts out there as much as we can. Thank goodness that the majority of people posting on HuffPo see through the nonsense and know the bigger picture.
I’ve circulated the Burke tshirt to a few journalists and news sites today. With Burke not really being widely known, I’m not sure it will make much impact but at least it’s out there. I wrote to sites that were writing about this “desecration” nonsense or who were heavily involved covering the Letterman ….. ummm..nonsense.

I said it before, she wants them in the public eye. She wants them to be seen and she has no problem shoving them out there for all the world to see, but she doesn’t want comments made unless they are positive and glowing.
She is also just a touch hypocritical (okay more than “a touch”) because she had no problems going after Levi when it suited her.

I think I am still in denial about Michael… he was so incredibly talented, and had such a rotten life and bizarre coping skills and still the talent came through.
Eric… I think it is because we all grew up with Michael, and his songs remind us of different times in our lives… it was more personal. And unfortunately, we are not capped in our grieving ability, we can mourn for more than one person at a time. She is not forgotten.

Neta’s death is not forgotten. It is a part of history of Iran. The fact that her name is remembered by so many speaks volumes in that she was never known until the video showed of her death a few days ago.
The death of Jackson, is a part of pop history of America. Many of us grew up listening to, dancing to, going to concerts. He was a part of our childhood and our adult life.
One death does not trump the other. It’s like having 4 kids — you have unconditional love for them all at the same time.

Farrah, who emerged as a sex kitten and showed her stuff in “The Burning Bed”. And then her galiant fight, struggles, etc. Is Redmond out of jail yet? Will he attend his mother’s funeral? Will he be in agony all his days knowing that he was “unavailable” to his mother in her dying days?
MJ, who we all grew up with… his passing is no less significant than the passing of John Lennon. I’m not a huge fan, but he was in my car, in my home, at my parties, at my bars, etc. He was THERE. When I danced on huge speakers in mini skirts (gasp!) and was a cute 110 pound blonde! (Now… 150 and back to brunette! )
We have enough love and empathy to go around…. I know we do!

People might get error messages like that periodically at the moment in that there is probably alot of traffic on her site at the moment from all the exposure on Huff, CNN, etc.
As someone who grew up in a rural white area of Northern Michigan (I’m 52), the Jackson Five was just one of the groups that opened up the world for me in a positive manner.
We had one black student in my high school the entire time I attended.
The Jackson Five, Diana, Marvin, Temptations, etc…, opened up possibilities of a world that I did not live in.
I’m just sorry that Michael had such a troubled life when he provide much joy and happiness for so many.

I photoshopped my brother’s wedding picture (blacked out his tooth, added bizarre jewelry to the bride, and laughed like a hyena all the while; they used it for their Christmas letter.) Photoshopping is fun, fun, fun. No babies were harmed in the creation of that image. Get over it, and stop campaigning to replace the Madonna and Child.

@Bubbles: I sure hope your girl gets a move on. I had seven children, which included two sets of twins. Only have six daughters left, only son killed in a car acccident in 2002. Oldest daughter has 14 yo twin boys, next has 18 yo son and 13 yo daughter, next has 10 yo twin girls and the new baby, (she is twin to my deceased son) next has 7 yo daughter (she is twin to next daughter), other twin daughter has no children and baby daughter in college and has no children. So you see I have plenty to spare. LOL!!

Michael was a true talent who drew much of his dance moves from the 30s and 40s, the dancers whom I admired. I am deeply sorry that he was not rescued from the difficultites with which he dealt. That is a true sorrow.
There was a documentary once which I cannot remember the name of, but Michael said while being interviewed during that documentary that he once was walking through an airport as a teenager and he was having some issues with acne, and some thoughtless person made a nasty comment about it, and it really upset him.
It does explain so much about the masks and the blankets and the plastic surgery and the other things which people thought were weird – obviously he never wanted himself or his family to be upset like that again.
It should make us *all* think about things we say, even just comments we type on the internet, about kids and teenagers and even grown adults. Words can hurt, and they can have a lasting, long term effect on people.

Sarah Palin has teed off against another mocking observer — this time a local blogger who edited a photo of the governor and her youngest child to include a local conservative talk show host.
In a statement sent to Politico, Palin’s spokesperson said:
Recently we learned of a malicious desecration of a photo of the Governor and baby Trig that has become an iconic representation of a mother’s love for a special needs child.
The mere idea of someone doctoring the photo of a special needs baby is appalling. To learn that two Alaskans did it is absolutely sickening. Linda Kellen Biegel, the official Democrat Party blogger for Alaska, should be ashamed of herself and the Democratic National Committee should be ashamed for promoting this website and encouraging this atrocious behavior.
Babies and children are off limits. It is past time to restore decency in politics and real tolerance for all Americans. The Obama Administration sets the moral compass for its party. We ask that special needs children be loved, respected and accepted and that this type of degeneracy be condemned.

That comes to more than two per year. There were six each in 2008 and 2007, two so far in 2009 as well as two in 2006. That’s 16 in just the past four years. There were five admitted in 1998.

“I wouldn’t put myself, hopefully, in that kind of position, but if I was in a position like that, that’s what I would do,” Ensign told The Associated Press at the time.

The MSM picking up on this isn’t what you think. This displays the stupidity of her choice of battles. Her choices of battle are those that should be included in the tabloid rags — not on the national political stage.
Palin saw and thought this as an opportunity to follow up after her initial gain of her battle with Letterman about her daughter — this time using the baby. Clearly shows how they have no ability to look outside the box to realize whatever gain they got — this choice of battle will cost them that support.
Instead of following up on national womens/childrens rights when she had the momentum — she’s again focused on herself personally — once again playing the victim. You don’t succeed playing this same card ad nauseam.

The media won’t pick up the ethics violations and IRS stuff until they have it properly sourced (and I’m guessing the IRS auditors aren’t talking as long as the investigation is ongoing).
I truly hope that the ethics complaints will have been written up by a professional, with all the evidence properly attached.
It’s funny hearing Gov refer to “moral compass” – in her statement via Meg. What does that mean? (“The Obama Administration sets the moral compass for it’s party.”)
Most people live moral lives based on the values taught by their parents. Others follow biblical standards, or alternative religious standards, etc. People use their conscience as a guide, and thankfully, most treat others as they would want to be treated. So, does she think that the Obama Administration has this instruction manual on setting morals in the party?
President Obama has carried himself as an honest, sincere individual, I have not heard him speak maliciously about anyone, no snarkiness, nor pot shots to his critics. He has earned the respect he deserves, and hasn’t been challenged by ethics complaints as yet. He chooses to set an example as a father, husband, and his “party” affiliation is not responsible for his moral choices.
Don’t know why that Meg statement was made. Are they saying that the democrats have a moral compass, or are they just being snarky and really trying to say, “everyone just loves PO soooo much and thinks he and his administration is so perfect”. Did I miss the intent of that sentence?

Desecration does indeed refer to an act performed on something sacred. Sacred (usually) means holy. Is the Palin camp calling that image holy??? If so, they need to relearn the separation of church and state [matters].

I tried to get Eddie t-shirt photo onto a couple of Huffpo threads last night. It was minimally effective because it was moderated.
Huffpo has the original Photoshop ( with reference to Eddie )and so Meg has done and created 1000′s of hits and interest that I or anyone else could ever have done. Meg is ” AMAZING” !! thank You !
All we need to do is comment on the Huffpo thread (that Meg generated ) and make sure they also see the Eddie t-shirt that AKM has posted here.

Honestly that is because they (Palin groupies) dismiss Gryphen as a “truther” whereas they feel truly threatened by Celtic Diva. They have been going after her for a long time now. She has gotten hate email from them, and at least one of them has called her several times, once in the middle of the night. These people are sick..sick. The comments they make about Diva are absolutely disgusting, all the while proclaiming themselves to be above that sort of thing.
Two things really stick out about Meg’s comment (which I’m sure Palin fed to her)
1. They are claiming “malicious desecration of a photo”? Desecration? Does she think this photo is liken unto the Madonna and child? Shouldn’t Christians be offended that Palin has just declared photos of herself to be a sacred?
2. Her statement refers to the photo as an “Iconic” image of a mother who loves her special needs child.
Iconic? Really? Usually one becomes an icon—but generally, people do not declare themselves to be an icon or photos of self as iconic.
Wow. This speaks volumes. Palin not only declares photos of herself to be iconic, she declares images of herself to be sacred.
I think the Wasilla Imbecilla has now become a ‘special needs’ adult. Is she wants her kids out of the spotlight, she shouldn’t use them in photo-ops. It’s that simple.

I just posted part of Shannyn Moore’s article from August 29th last year, and Lee Tompkins article from January 19th of this year, on Palin’s irresponsibility in how she dealt with the last days of her pregnancy with Trig.
They’re up at Progressive Alaska as Chapters 70 and 71 of Saradise Lost, Book 2. I can’t wait until the book is complete.
Mag Stapleton is an awful spokesperson, but I understand that she’s a very good mom – she keeps her kids completely out of the public eye.
Palin, OTOH, is both an awful advocate and an awful mom. Her conduct in the last days, weeks and perhaps months of her last pregnancy probably shortened the poor kid’s life, probably made the lifetime effects of his Downs syndrome worse.
That is the Trig story.
This so called iconic photo has been doctored before with no outrage. During the Letterman dustup, there was a version with Letterman’s head replacing baby Trig’s head. No outrage there.
So the reasons for the outrage are simple:
She cannot stand being out of the spotlight; the nerve of that Sanford guy hogging the press now.
She is trying to distract people from speculating about whatever the newest ethics charges might be about.
This is the price one pays for shamelessly trotting their kids out in public at every opportunity. It is sheer hypocrisy to shout “privacy” when dragging them around in the National Spotlight (2008 Campaign) for two months. You can’t have it both ways.
Some one has told Sarah that she cannot react personally to every critical comment. But, if it’s about the children, you can be as thin skinned as you like. Seems to be working out so far.

“Desecrated” an “iconic” photo? Are these people serious? No really this is a joke right? Sorry but Palin is no saint and a photo of her holding her handicapped child is not “iconic” nor can it be “desecrated”. That is simply ludicrous.
Sorry to have to inform Palin and her supporters of this, but when you make yourself tabloid fodder by claiming outrage over every perceived slight or negative comment you are doing yourself no favors, in fact you are simply increasing the probability that you will only ever be “tabloid fodder”.
The claim that “children” are off limits certainly didn’t apply when the Palin family went after Levi Johnston so this is just more hypocrisy on their part.

A Google search of the story on sites that might be favorable or lean toward Palin are using the terms ‘ distorted ‘… ‘ disfigured ‘.. etc. They usually describe CD as a DNC ‘ Activist ‘… as well. W oW.. no opinion slant there. Fox News style.

If Sarah’s truly upset about the photoshopped image of her son Trig, why isn’t she equally upset that she leaves him home a lot of the time while jetting off to locations days at a time. I would think a baby wouldn’t care about his face being replaced on a page; however, I would think he would want his mommy home with him.
If Palin is really for decency why doesn’t she come out against Limbaugh and others? Where is her statement of outrage against the sins of Sanford?

I also agree with you entirely that we need to be putting the facts out there as much as we can. Thank goodness that the majority of people posting on HuffPo see through the nonsense and know the bigger picture.
I’ve circulated the Burke tshirt to a few journalists and news sites today. With Burke not really being widely known, I’m not sure it will make much impact but at least it’s out there. I wrote to sites that were writing about this “desecration” nonsense or who were heavily involved covering the Letterman ….. ummm..nonsense.

I said it before, she wants them in the public eye. She wants them to be seen and she has no problem shoving them out there for all the world to see, but she doesn’t want comments made unless they are positive and glowing.

Steve Ruda said Thursday that Jackson was not breathing when Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told the newspaper.

Neta’s death is not forgotten. It is a part of history of Iran. The fact that her name is remembered by so many speaks volumes in that she was never known until the video showed of her death a few days ago.
The death of Jackson, is a part of pop history of America. Many of us grew up listening to, dancing to, going to concerts. He was a part of our childhood and our adult life.
One death does not trump the other. It’s like having 4 kids — you have unconditional love for them all at the same time.

Ed McMahon, who came to us every night for 30+ years and made us laugh.
Farrah, who emerged as a sex kitten and showed her stuff in “The Burning Bed”. And then her galiant fight, struggles, etc. Is Redmond out of jail yet? Will he attend his mother’s funeral? Will he be in agony all his days knowing that he was “unavailable” to his mother in her dying days?
MJ, who we all grew up with… his passing is no less significant than the passing of John Lennon. I’m not a huge fan, but he was in my car, in my home, at my parties, at my bars, etc. He was THERE. When I danced on huge speakers in mini skirts (gasp!) and was a cute 110 pound blonde! (Now… 150 and back to brunette!

As someone who grew up in a rural white area of Northern Michigan (I’m 52), the Jackson Five was just one of the groups that opened up the world for me in a positive manner.
We had one black student in my high school the entire time I attended.
The Jackson Five, Diana, Marvin, Temptations, etc…, opened up possibilities of a world that I did not live in.
I’m just sorry that Michael had such a troubled life when he provide much joy and happiness for so many.

Photoshopping is fun, fun, fun. No babies were harmed in the creation of that image. Get over it, and stop campaigning to replace the Madonna and Child.

Oldest daughter has 14 yo twin boys, next has 18 yo son and 13 yo daughter, next has 10 yo twin girls and the new baby, (she is twin to my deceased son) next has 7 yo daughter (she is twin to next daughter), other twin daughter has no children and baby daughter in college and has no children. So you see I have plenty to spare. LOL!!
I’m disappointed Linda removed Palin and Baby Burke from her site. But I do think her site got too much traffice from the cnn tracker and from akm’s huff post blog. Good for Linda, I’m sure lots more money will be coming in from that advert.

Please make sure everyone goes to AKM’s current story on the Huffpo and put in at least one comment. Drive up the numbers so that if might even go to the Front page. I’m sure some of the Palin-bots will post there as well to try to deflect or distort.

Michael was a true talent who drew much of his dance moves from the 30s and 40s, the dancers whom I admired. I am deeply sorry that he was not rescued from the difficultites with which he dealt. That is a true sorrow.

There was a documentary once which I cannot remember the name of, but Michael said while being interviewed during that documentary that he once was walking through an airport as a teenager and he was having some issues with acne, and some thoughtless person made a nasty comment about it, and it really upset him.
It does explain so much about the masks and the blankets and the plastic surgery and the other things which people thought were weird – obviously he never wanted himself or his family to be upset like that again.
It should make us *all* think about things we say, even just comments we type on the internet, about kids and teenagers and even grown adults. Words can hurt, and they can have a lasting, long term effect on people.

Very beautifully said. I always thought his very strange behavior was innocent and I really don’t think he did the bad thing. He was a target (very rich, I might add…) who happened to be a very child-like loving human being.
He never had a real childhood and I think he spent his whole life trying to recapture that. His story is a very sad story and I hope now he is in peace.
