Very beautifully said. I always thought his very strange behavior was innocent and I really don’t think he did the bad thing. He was a target (very rich, I might add…) who happened to be a very child-like loving human being.

He never had a real childhood and I think he spent his whole life trying to recapture that. His story is a very sad story and I hope now he is in peace.

As I just said in that thread –

There was a documentary once which I cannot remember the name of, but Michael said while being interviewed during that documentary that he once was walking through an airport as a teenager and he was having some issues with acne, and some thoughtless person made a nasty comment about it, and it really upset him.

It does explain so much about the masks and the blankets and the plastic surgery and the other things which people thought were weird – obviously he never wanted himself or his family to be upset like that again.

It should make us *all* think about things we say, even just comments we type on the internet, about kids and teenagers and even grown adults. Words can hurt, and they can have a lasting, long term effect on people.

Michael was a true talent who drew much of his dance moves from the 30s and 40s, the dancers whom I admired. I am deeply sorry that he was not rescued from the difficultites with which he dealt. That is a true sorrow.
