What is Sarah Palin Thinking? One Alaskan’s Perspective

3 07 2009

On the morning of August 29, 2008, minutes after the stunning news of the Vice Presidential nomination, I wrote a post entitled “What Is McCain Thinking? One Alaskan’s Perspective,” and my humble little blog was never the same. And now, less than a year later, the strange saga of Sarah Palin, the “hottest governor in the coldest state” is coming to an end.

Thursday’s SP tweet about AK hockey player Scotty Gomez has some resonance…think she identifies?

“Alaskan hockey legend Scott Gomez was traded yesterday. The former New York Ranger Center is headed to to the Montreal Canadiens…The Rangers have been trying to trade Gomez since their season ended. The 29 year old Alaskan whose career high point total was 84 in 2005-06 with the New Jersey Devils dropped to 58 points this past season while he played 77 games, earning $8 million. Gomez has 5 years and $33.5 million left in his contract.”

    Sorry AKM,
I loved your article on Huffington Post but I seem to have an acedemic problem with your thesis…Sarah Palin and “thinking”, as a verb, in relation to one another does not seem to have realistic possibilities…are you a closet SF author? Perhaps fantasy?
just wandering in the mists…God bless,

my post at HuffPo waiting approval:
    what is she thinking?
Well, it’s several icebergs heading her way, but it’s also the $7 million book deal that she can’t do as a sitting governor.
Good lord, she’s not in Alaska enough as it is what with touring the lower 48 and heading out of country throughout much of June (which she says lame duck guvs do and she WON”T do that…hahahhaaaa!!!)
But then there’s the book tour she’ll have to do…
decisions, decisions….how to resign without being a quitter….how to make a five-minute speech last a gazillion hours….how to upstage Sanford and Michael Jackson….
    The Peter Principle in action.
