1) Palin “aborted” her term and left Alaska in a lurch. She mentioned specifically that she has “abandoned” her own supporters who went door-to-door during the campaign etc.
2) Since Palin’s resignation was vague ‘word salad,” rumors that had been swirling around for months became a point of discussion as possible reasons for abrupt resignation.
3) She wished Palin well but was glad she would no longer be making the executive decisions in Alaska.

A contrarian thought, just for the heck of it. And know that I’ve been on this blog since day one.
A lot of the blame for where we find ourselves today is the incredibly cynical, easy out, Hillary voter-harvesting, game changing move that John McCain tried to pull off in August by tapping Sarah Palin.
Yes, she looked at Charlie Gibson (“In what respect Charlie???) face and said she never blinked when she signed on to the ticket.
Should she be held responsible for more then the majority of shit that has rained down on her?
You betcha.
But I am struck in the last few days my how much responsibility John McCain and his band of merry men and women should take for this. And thus far aren’t being held to it
Sarah Palin was an anti-dote, to try and pick off disaffected Hillary Clinton voters and bring them to the other side. Knee jerk reaction without any sensible vetting or plan on how to use her.
I think that we’re seeing Sarah for who she is. Not that bright. Drawn to the flame. Cute, good life story. Not able to see anything through but hoping you think so. And she’ll go on and make lots of money and I think then flame out. She was ready, willing and clearly not able.
Lots of fault lies with her. But don’t for a minute think that John McCain and his driven team would do anything to get elected.
When all of this is sorted out, I hope McCain gets as much grief as Sarah.

I think Shannyn’s use of the word “abort” is appropriate. Scarah’s against abortion as a woman’s personal choice, she’s all for family values and the importance of family, but Scarah doesn’t place the same “commitment” to the job she “begged” to have entrusted to her, she took an oath, she pledged to do a job for 4 years, the state she used motherly terms to describe in her speeches, now to throw away, to walk away from, it’s okay for her to abort job, do away with it, leave her state responsibilities. It’s okay for her to have “that” choice and she’s grateful for it but not okay for others to have that “other” choice that she ever so briefly thought about. GAH!

JHOP, Frank Murkowski was the incumbent Governor after having served in the US Senate for 22 years. He was the first governor in US history to come in third in their primary. He had a lower approval rating than Dick Cheney. The reasons he was unpopular are too numerous to get into here. And as Senator French mentioned she built up a lot of political capital when she stood up to Murkowski and the Republican party regarding the behavior of Randy Ruderick. She seemed like a breath of fresh air to a lot of voters. And the press bowed down to her. If she had said no to McCain, the real Sarah might have never been seen

Oh, and while I still don’t know what the hell she was talking about regarding a complaint about her holding a fish, she did get a complaint filed against her about answering a “reporters” question. Last fall there was a very nasty campaign run against a citizen initiative for clean water. The mining industry poured millions of dollars into the state against the initiative. Four days before the election during a hastily called news conference a “reporter” (whom AKM and a lot of us are still trying to figure out who he was) asked her her opinion. She answered that she was taking her governors hat off to answer the question, then slammed the initiative. The anti’s ran ads with her words in both print and video. So a complaint was filed saying she should have not answered the question.

I don’t know that Shannyn was there to expand on the Housegate issue. I think Shannyn was there to respond to the absurdity of being threatened for speculating about a rumor. I am glad that Shannyn is not trying to give more information about Sarah’s house.
I think KO did what he was supposed to do for that segment. He led into the segment by pointing out that there was a 2008 Village Voice article that first discussed Housegate and then he expounded on Shannyn being a blogger that was threatened because she also discussed the Housegate rumor. KO aired some of Shannyn’s tv statement and then he turned to her to continue to discuss Shannyn’s dilemma and Sarah’s gall. Overall Shannyn’s input was a great contribution to the KO show.

Although it killed me to leave the comfortable chair and laptop, I had to go to a meeting tonight. I just finished KO on TVO, but I read though all these posts first. Hilarious! I was so jealous, but watching it for real was even more enjoyable as I knew what was coming.
Shanynn did a great job, as usual. I, too, was hoping she’d get the term Buttercup in, but she did hit several other key words and phrases. Pity she couldn’t get a place out on the MSNBC/Wasilla Sports Complex/Palin deck for her interview. She maybe could have knocked some sense into Andrea Mitchell who seemed to have a bit of Kool-aid stain on her lips.

The feds would have to ask your ISP who holds that IP address and that might be difficult if they set it up to assign you a new one everytime you turn your computer off, then the ISP may not know who got what address, on whatever day. If you leave your computer on and connected, then they should be able to track you. You’ll still have the same IP address.

I’m going to put this out there.
Why isn’t anyone talking about Sarah (and her staff) using Yahoo for e-mail in the Gov’s office instead of the state system. Remember that? Someone hacked into her e-mail account and posted the screen print photo of her inbox on-line. Now the perp was arrested (see IP note above) but that story just died.
Well, as far as I know, using personal email for state business is illegal. That would be a federal offense, right? State evidence and all that lawyer stuff.
The reason I ask is that nearly every job I’ve had since e-mail became the legal definition of communication channels is that if you don’t use employer supported e-mail and use personal e-mail for business, that’s grounds for termination. At least it was at my last few jobs. (Company secrets being shared and all that). Surely that’s illegal as far as state business is concerned. I know I would never use a yahoo account to conduct business.
And on top of that, why was Todd in the office all of the time conducting state business? He wasn’t elected, Sarah was. Since when is the ‘First Dude” (bleck, I hate that) allowed to do Sarah’s job? Isn’t that criminal behavior. It’s a governorship, not a family business.
Maybe that ‘quiet’ investigation lead to other charges. (I’m no lawyer) I haven’t seen anyone consider that investigation as a possible cause of her sudden departure. Maybe it’s a reason for this sudden departure. Maybe those charges are going to rear their ugly head. Bwaahaaaa (evil laugh).

Shannyn Moore is absolutely right she is protected by the 1st amendment. Sarah’s lawyer needs to muzzle Sarah. Everytime she opens her mouth she puts her foot in it. The “rock star” quality she has is that she has rocks for brains. Someone should print all the comments here and send it to Meg Stapleton and Sarah Palin. They need to grow a thick skin and a sense of humor.
