Was waste deep in Palin country today. Went to Giddings and found the mega house she was at for 5 days. Lady at the dinky convenience store told me ” I heard she’s comin’ back “. Got a bbq sandwich at another place and said they did not get to see her , but wished they had. The guy sounded ever so wistful.
Shot the bull with a guy pumpin’ gas at the fillin’ station and he said he barely missed her at the Wal-Mart. His 4×4 truck had a McCain/Palin bumper sticker.
Truck nuts also.too. There are people who love her……….I did not say a word against her.

Maybe I’m crazy but has any one thought maybe that baby is not Levi’s, and he was brought out on stage to cover up who the real father is, remember his big red pickup and without a job right now, how can he afford to be flying all over the country. Maybe that’s what the big blow out was with Bristol and her mother last week, Bristol is tired of carrying on this lie and wants her boyfriend out in the open. Maybe she’s paying him to keep his mouth shut and the whole thing is ready to explode.. geez sound like a soap opera. I better get off the computer for a while ,this is driving me crazy…..
    ————————————–
It’s probably true that Bristol has a new boyfriend but Tripp looks just like Levi.

I read this post – do I understand correctly?? That Gov Palin took a junket on the State of Alaska money, ostensibly to support the troops in Kosovo, but was MIA for about three days (June 28 – July 2, 2009). The diarist (an Alaskan) contends that Todd and Sarah visited son Track during those three days.

I want to know how to find out if they did.

Darn, I never get any spam like that. It looks like it was Google-translated from English to something non-Latin-based (maybe Russian?) and then back again.

Or maybe it’s an extended tweet from you-know-who.

Thanks GA Peach Lance Boil Crust Scramble for the post @ 105.

If the ethics regulations were to change, I want to see that citizens are provided technical support to put concerns forward, without being verbally, emotionally or physically threatened for requesting accountability.

When technical assistance is provided, a complaint might not be dismissed for frivolous reasons.

It might even be possible to resolve an ethical complaint without all this drama and pain and insanity.

AustinTX, I found myself in Palin Country tonight, also too. Stock car races can be expected to be that way, I suppose. I was walking toward the concessions during intermission and suddenly some older guy started talking politics at me, spouting all the talking points and then some. I wasn’t in the mood, so I steered the conversation back to neutral territory. Turned out he’s a retired Alaska State Trooper who just loves $arah. GAH! No respite anywhere…

    JS in Chicago Says:

@Bretta – Just speculation from Kos diarist about a sneak visit with Track. No proof, but says she wouldn’t put it past her, etc. I’m not so sure she’s got the dates right though. Says the first public record of SP being back in AK is Thurs 7/2, but there are photos of a ceremonial bill signing in Anchorage on 7/1, and according to the Twitter, HB172 was signed in her office on 6/30. (She also tweeted that she was back in Anch at 9:57pm on 6/28, but who knows with her..)

JS in Chicago @ 113 — Good to know she was back in the state – I had that oh-no, here we go again feeling…

I actually Would Not begrudge her seeing her son on an overseas trip, for heaven’s sake, I just want her to be honest about it.

The larger curiosity was why the state MSM did not cover the tour.

“In Alaska, Sarah Palin squares off against the blogosphere”

In the battle of Sarah Palin vs. Shannyn Moore, there is at least one winner: the lowly weblog.

Although much has been made in recent years of the power of the Internet to change politics – the netroots, the unlikely rise of Howard Dean’s web-fueled candidacy, the multimedia machine that helped send Barack Obama to the White House – it’s rare to see one personal blog play such a major role in American politics.

Well, welcome to Alaska, where the bloggers have clout, the Twitter feeds run free, and one very angry “Mama Grizzly” has aimed her ire in the general direction of the World Wide Web.

    oregonbird Says:

Blogging is not a new art form! And it has always been one that held the privileged to scorn and honesty. Regarding one of the most famous bloggers of history, Jonathan Swift:

Drapier’s Letters was a series of pamphlets (blogs, whatever) which revealed that the monopoly granted to provide the Irish with copper coinage would, by the producer’s flawed mathmatics, be profitable only by outright fraud; the coinage provided would very quickly be debased. William Wood was a metals manufacturer who attempted advancement through political gamesmanship.

Swift’s writing was so effective in undermining opinion in the project that a reward was offered by the government to anyone disclosing the true identity of the author. Though his identity was hardly a secret — there were banners and applauding pub rats — no one turned Swift in. The government eventually hired Sir Isaac Newton to certify the soundness of the initial coinage.

The coinage was rejected by Irish citizens. Having paid £10,000 for the patent, Wood was later recompensed by the government for his business failure with a pension of £3000 a year for eight years. Or as it is known now, with a *bonus*.

Swift recalled the thwarting of a planned ruination of the Irish economy as one of his best achievements.

And so should every blogger that holds a government’s or a corrupt businessman’s practices to the light for all to see!

    Ain’t history fun?

In reference to comments made on Shanny’s show –

Special Session — forgive me if I’m being naive or uninformed on AK constitutional/legislative requirements ….. but why couldn’t they have a special session by *teleconference* ?

Yes, that costs more than a few bucks too, but seems it would be much more economical. Anyone know if that’s constitutionally possible?

At least those legislators vacationing in Hawaii or out fishing would still be able to participate.

  21. 121
    sandra in oregon Says:

yukonbushgrama: Would it be possible to have a teleconference that is open to the public? Would lobbyists and public representatives have access to the participants? Interesting idea.

From Eric Boehlert, media matters piece on Sarah.

One poster created a new bumper sticker for Palin 2012. It won’t let me insert the graphic here. Anyone see it? It is hilarious.

    It says,

    Sarah Palin 2012
the world is supposed to end anyway.

  23. 123
    trisha Says:

How does Palin’s trip to Kosovo help Alaskans? Why would the state be paying for that trip? If she arranged that trip (as a Governor) so she could see her son???? Wow…how wrong is that?

    tigerwine Says:

ds55 asks: “Yeah, why *did Sarah go to Kosovo if she’d already decided to quit? Oh, she hadn’t decided yet? They it *was a sudden decision? Hmm… either way it’s fishy.”

    ————————————————

Good question! If she had already decided to quit, then she was acting like she said lame duck office holders do, and take all these overseas trips on taxpayer money!! If she hadn’t decided, then, as others have speculated, something big and scary made her quit.

  25. 125
    trisha Says:

Another funny bumper sticker from Kos

  26. 126
    trisha Says:

Let’s take a bet. I give Palin less than a week out of office before she starts slamming Obama.

I say, Obama—-not President Obama—because I don’t believe that Palin has once used the proper title for the President of the United States. I always hear her say, Obama. Very disrespectful.

Her little jab in Runner’s World was intended as a direct hit. They were not even discussing politics, so her comment came out of left field. Obviously, she is thinks she can do better.

BTW, since Palin has proved to quit everything she has ever started, does anyone believe that she really have more endurance than President Obama?

  27. 127
    T Mackenzie Says:

I can think of a very good reason why a possible trip by Palin to visit Track would be kept under wraps.

To preserve his safety and the safety of the troops he serves with.
