Thanks to all who live blogged the show. I got up this morning and found this nice surprise for me to read.
AKM, from what I read, you performed wonderfully (as always).
Would be nice if someone went back and actually investigated all the previous Ethics Complaints that have been dismissed by the ‘Personal’ Personnel Board.
I am sure, more than one would be found to have merit.
My favorite is the clear duct-tape. Very versatile color!
Thanks for the liveblogging. I got caught up this morning. As for duct tape, I am an adhesive addict and i love it. It comes in many colors. My husband keeps trying to tell me I can’t use it for this or that. I just glare at him and whip out my duct tape. Always keep a roll in the car and the house.
I would hate to have to give up on commenting on the blog and am hoping someone sees this and can advise: every time I try to leave a comment on the blog (for several weeks now) it disappears. Sometimes the comments show up three days later. I’ve never used a link in my life and haven’t used any remotely questionable language, but my comments seem automatically to go to indefinite limbo status.
Any way to fix this? I have no problems on the Forum.

BTW I am stuck away from home in Fairbanks for the weekend and will be in the area of PICNIC/Quiter crud/ and Gov lite swearing in. Not sure what antics I will be up to but I can’t imagine that I will let this event go by with out some kind of statement. I was thinking, instead of a sign I will put some Yellow Mud boots on sticks and hold them up.

Duct tape is also known as 100 mile an hour tape…to those in aviation. I use it to make bandaids also.
BTW, several years ago there were some teenaged girls down here in Cali who made duct-tape wallets and card-holders and got them sold at Nordstrom.

Well, I’ve missed everything, but it sounds like a splendid outing, AKM. I’m still trying to comprehend Kristin Cole. Did they have a special English-as-a-foreign-language class at Wasilla High?
Well, I finally caught up! Thanks to all for the nice compliments! I was definitely a little nervous, so I’m glad it didn’t show. I was all surrounded with stapled papers covered in orange highlighter and circles and arrows, and bullet points… Only used one! LOL!
Brad Friedman was great. I really admire him on many levels and he was easy to talk to and had good questions.
The only time I had no idea what to say was to duct tape guy? Wha…?
Duct tape is everywhere. I know a couple towns that might feel bent out of shape that Wasilla got the “official” title. I even drove around for a while in a car with the headlight held in with duct tape after a fender bender!
I got asked dozens of times during the election to do stuff like this and always said no… so this was quite an experience. And I did give him permission to use my name. Should have mentioned that. Felt weird, but…
Anyway, glad you all enjoyed it! I’ll keep you posted if it ever happens again.

Wow! hearing AKM on my very own radio station was just surreal. I was on my way to pick up my daughter and her friend up from a play rehearsal and all or a sudden there is our very own AKM talking on the radio. I nearly drove the car off the road.
She was just wonderful and exactly as I have always pictured her – thoughtful, humorous, informed and of course amazingly articulate and intelligent with an absolutely lovely voice.
What a treat!
I am however now eagerly awaiting an AKM exclusive expose on “Wasilla – Duct Tape capital of the world”. (I mean seriously was the best question anyone could ask her?)

Yes I know exactly how you feel. for some one that does not know the whole palin story it can not be short. My mom (83years old) I have been telling her about it over time so she gets it. She says in california she just gets the little 20 or 30 seconds bits so most of the time she misses it. BUT other people I start out and I see people looking at each other and the eye rolling and I just say sorry never mind.

My relatives are in Arkansas and they only get a few channels on radio and tv and way to poor to pay for more..after the health care thing I think our President need to work on getting the internet out there so more people know the truth.

And corrupt as he!!, but I can’t begin to even explain. You’ll have to read the book when it comes out to even begin to get the whole story”.
So anyway, I keep waiting for AKM to write the definitive “Book of Sarah Palin Horror Stories”. But of course, the story never seems to have an ending. Poor AKM can’t even come up for air, much less write a book, before a whole new episode of Sarah’s Crazy Train comes barrelling down the tracks. But would it be possible to compile a collection of the “Best Of Sarisodes” ? (yes, I know that’s an oxymoron). But a few, carefully compiled blog posts might be very effective in giving a newcomer a taste of the real story, without having to subject them cold-turkey to a full-on Palinoscopy. Anybody else think this would be possible?
If the Netroots people are smart they will ask AKM to speak at the Convention about the whole Palin Odyssey, fiasco, story or whatever you want to call it.
I’m guessing some of those people don’t know even half of the stuff $arah has done. It needs to be told so that when she ‘ TRIES ‘ to spread her crap all over the Lower 48 in the coming years the other bloggers there at the convention can tell or inform people about the REAL $arah Palin.
It is the responsibility of the other blogs to now make sure she has no voice to spread her ideology , hate and stupidity.
Lower 48 blogs need to take a stand like AKM has done.

Couldn’t get the link. But, I just wish there could be a new type of interviewing where the ads, commercials could all be heard at the beginning of a show; then, the interview start and keep on an easy flow without all the interruptions. The interruptions hurt the conversation because they have to repeat everything every 5 minutes. With so much to hear and learn, we get side-swiped every few minutes with that darn break.
It’s like that everywhere, tv talk shows……no one takes the time to dissect and elaborate on a subject. PBS right now is the only option.
A great big atta woman to AKM, and an even bigger one to all of you live bloggers. I was in a meeting and using headphones would have been too obvious. But, I could follow along on the iTouch without looking too obvious. THANKS!!!

Caltrans latched on to the term “Sig-Alert” and it has come to be known as any traffic incident that will tie up two or more lanes of a freeway for two or more hours.

I used to live in LA and “Sig-Alerts” were a daily thing. I have the dubious distinction of having caused one in 1993. My car engine caught on fire in the middle lane of the convergence lanes of the 405 and I-5 and the 118. I called 911 and they had the fire department and a tow truck on the scene within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, it caused a HUGE back up and thus a “sig alert”. It wasn’t my fault, but just the same, I feel some shame.

I use Firefox and this link has a perfect stream with the buffering. I have not been kicked off even once… unlike the link to KBYR… which was about every 15 minutes.

I like our system here in Arizona.
We can opt to be put on a permanent early ballot list and get our ballots weeks before the election. Gives me time to sort through the candidates and issues and still mail in the ballot in ample time to be counted. No lines, or hassles.
