Round Up – This & That

Heeere She Is….Miss Anti-America!

The Humor Gazette has a fascinating retrospective/forward looking view of the many titles of our ex-governor.  Her humble beginnings as Miss Wasilla, take an amusing turn…

After the election, the glamorous governor continued to tout herself for the title of Miss Understood. However, sources say she missed the national spotlight in Alaska, where her hopes for fresh pageant glory seemed limited despite repeated nominations for Miss Behavior and Miss Conduct.

The moment she announced her resignation, the foxy news-maker was widely hailed as Miss Leader. And now that she’s quit, most pundits consider her a sexy, high-heeled shoo-in for Miss Calculation.

>BWAP BWAP BWAP!< RUMOR ALERT!

The strangely vacant Democratic hole on the opposite side of the ballot from 19-term crooked-as-a-dog-leg Congressman for All Alaska Don Young may have a taker.  Rep. Harry Crawford (D) of East Anchorage may be thinking about throwing his hat in the ring after a recent trip to D.C.  There’s also speculation that Diane Benson may be giving it another shot.

Will She or Won’t She?

That was the question about Sarah Palin’s first post-gubernatorial appearance.  Now, after plucking the petals off a daisy as we chant ”she will,”  “no she won’t,”  “she will,”…  we have our answer.  No, she won’t.  Here’s the official announcement from her Facebook page, after weeks of everyone believing she’d be there.

Release Concerning Simi Valley Republican Women’s EventShare

As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Women’s event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governor’s state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor’s name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.

All event requests must be confirmed with Meghan Stapleton of SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor’s name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.

Thank you.
Meghan Stapleton

I wonder how long it will be before nobody invites her to speak anywhere ever.  And what will Meg Stapleton do now that she can’t blame “miscommunication” with the governor’s staff?

Let the Shredding Begin!

According to a recent Rassmussen survey, 75% of Americans think it’s time to audit the Federal Reserve and make the results known to the public.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke in a town forum filmed on Sunday which is airing this week on PBS stations said he is strongly opposed to the audit legislation. “I don’t think the American people want Congress running monetary policy,” he said.

He must be talking about the 9% that think the audit is a bad idea.

She’s No Shannyn Moore.

On Monday, Inside Radio reported that former governor Sarah Palin’s representatives “have been quietly testing the watersto see how much interest radio syndicators have for her.” While Palin isn’t committed to radio, she is reportedly open to it as “a possible next step.” But the interest in her might not be as great as some had speculated. According to Broadcasting & Cable, Clear Channel Broadcasting, the country’s biggest radio conglomerate, has already turned Palin down because of fears that she wouldn’t be able to “hold forth for three hours a day.”

My biggest fear would have been that she would be able to hold forth for three hours a day.  When your biggest appeal is being a bright sparkly object with no substance, maybe radio just isn’t your calling.

Ordinance 64 – The Next Step

Mayor Sullivan needs to know that people in Anchorage support equality, he needs to know why you support equality, and he needs to hear that vetoing an ordinance to protect LGBT people from discrimination sends the message that he, as the Mayor of Anchorage, believes that LGBT people should be discriminated against in employment, housing, education, and public accommodations.  Please call or e-mail Mayor Sullivan and voice your support of Ordinance 64 at:   mayor(at)muni(dot)org or call (907) 343-7170 or (907) 343-7100 Please, remember to be respectful.

the norwegian blue (July 30th, 2009 at 9:08 PM)–Funny that the Freepers think that Stapletongue wouldn’t know about popular people. She used to be a reporter (maybe anchor too?) for a TV station in what was then the #4 TV market in the country. I think she might have had some sense back then, but she seems to have lost it somewhere along the way (maybe in those garbage bags of RNC clothes?).

I’ve just read that the famed Rorsach test will now be replaced by pictures of Mzz Quittypants. You will be asked to explain what you see in each picture. The first patient saw Fool’s gold.

Thanks for the SimiValley Acorn letter. I tracked back to the article

    http://www.simivalleyacorn.com/news/2009-07-24/Front_Page/Palin_to_pay_Simi_a_visit.html

    It’s dated July 24

Republican Women Federated of Simi Valley spokeswoman Pat Saraceno said Palin agreed to speak because of her “following” in California.

“We are celebrating a golden anniversary and it is the 50th anniversary of Alaska’s statehood,” Saraceno said. “Sarah Palin loves Alaska and she has roots here in Southern California.

What a difference a week makes. Whatever imaginary roots Palin had in Southern Cal., they have dried up and withered away.

Could the cancellation be because the “speaking FEE” wasn’t sufficient after all, or maybe non-existent? How can she kick off her speaking tour for big bucks if she isn’t getting big bucks at the start?
Could she be expecting another baby?
If Todd was looking angry like perhaps she was having an affair, would that be too impossible? The way TX Gov Perry was flaring his nostrils, breathing heavily and gobbling her up with his eyeballs when she was on stage with him practically knocked me over. Then he too started talking about secession…maybe it is contagious.
