Open Thread – What the…?
31 07 2009Last Saturday was ex-Governor Palin’s farewell stop in Anchorage. I spent the afternoon at the governor’s picnic, fighting my way through packs of tourists with cameras and cell phones, pressing in and trying to snap a picture of the governor. I was told to evacuate the condiment area by some sort of hired picnic security thug. I was overwhelmed by throngs of people wearing t-shirts with pictures of firearms, and wearing actual firearms with ammo clips in plain sight. There were lines, hundreds long waiting to get a hamburger on a wonder roll from Sarah Palin… It was really a sensory overload experience on multiple levels.
Then, I saw this:
My first thought was, “What the Hell is THAT?” I’ve sat through enough Anchorage Assembly meetings watching people from local area evangelical churches wear red as their color of solidarity to take 3 minutes at the podium and read Bible verses, and tell everyone that homosexuality is a choice and a sin and will rob us all of our freedoms, and bla bla bla. So after a dozen hours or more of watching the color red be further co-opted by the religious right, my first thought was that this thing was some sort of homophobic picnic mascot sent to infiltrate the crowd by Jerry Prevo.
Then, I realized, that it was probably a drop of blood… presumably to encourage donations to the blood bank? That’s what I assume, although I didn’t actually ask it what it was. From the look of the security guy, he wasn’t quite sure either. It did do a little sassy leg lift when I took its picture, though….so it appears to have a sense of humor, which the people at the Assembly meetings definitely did NOT.
So, this sort of screams for a caption. Any ideas?

honestyinGov: You betcha! And ALL the pretend world leaders will be in pretend teleconferences with her, day and night! The economic summits too!
Sure, we won’t see it on tv, the Press will NOT be allowed! But make no mistake, SHE will be the REAL POTUS in 2012, and Obama will merely have the title. SHE is the most powerful and beautiful woman in the pretend White House!

Kristan Cole: Kristan Tanner, Kristan Mosley, Kristan Cheryl Mosley… Um mmm…been there and broke up a family unit (by the way, the worst act a human can do to another), that is to break up a family unit. Then, do the bidding of an unethical leader and be in charge of a fund which is of questionable legality. Is she the devil in “bumbits”!

Ha ha ha…can’t stop laughing. Thank you Lori! Yes, I meant that! Thanks for the correction. The pieces left in the toilet bowl would fit the situation we find ourself in. Sorry, it is personal and she’s definitely a devil in bumbits! Sorry, just been a long two years and the valley mafia is getting on my nerves. Looking for some laughs and humor to guide us through this mess!

Just remembered something about the Harvard MBA guy that you might find funny.
He was the special project management guy for the comapny as it was trying to transform, and after boss and I left the company, I had lunch with a coworker who went to the update meetings.
She said they would go around the room of 40 people who would report if their projects were on schedule (green) running into problems (yellow) or behind schedule (red). In the meetings, his project was green green green green at all the meetings, per his reports until the meeting two days before it was to go live, then it was red.
Nice management, Mr. Baffle-Them-With-BS. We got a good laugh. But she didn’t know the irony of it.

I still think she’s been partaking of Wasilla’s famous homegrown product: methamphetamine, a/k/a speed. The heavy breathing, sweating, etc. are all symptoms. The tweeting tw@t was tweaking! Now, she’s crashed. A few days’ sleep & she’ll get up & start “communicating” again. That’s my theory, & I’m sticking to it! Qiviting Quitter Queen quacks (or tweets, or does something birdy). I’m reminded of the Time magazine cover from the movie version of The Dead Zone (Martin Sheen holding up an infant as a shield while being shot at by Christopher Walken): Caption: No Future.

There is a video circulating about Alaska bloggers that contains factual inaccuracies, misrepresentations and copyright violations using images of individuals owned by them without their permission. Legal advice is being sought. I’d ask that we not discuss it or link to it please. Thanks!

RAM is no lady. While on the EB show, some of the callers had awful (and untrue) things to say about Shannyn & Celtic Diva. Instead of speaking out in opposition, she seemed to be enjoying the extremely rude comments. I also don’t see her speaking out when there are hateful and/or untruthful comments made on her site.

Maybe I should qualify my comment and opinion on RAM. In some respects she is a lady. She is good about squelching anti-Muslim tirades and birthers. She is merciless, however, for “trig-truthers” and “anklebiters.” There are so few on that site who seem to have any scruples, that she stands out. Thank you, ValleyIndependent.

I’ve looked all over the threads but didn’t see where anyone mentioned the book that is coming out in two weeks. It was written by Dangerous who frequently posts over at Palin Deceptions.
The book is fiction and deals with a woman politician who faked a pregnancy.
