It’s amazing that Palin’s team made the divorce story viral by posting a denial on facebook. The story was only on an Alaskan blog before Palin made it be known to the world.
This is not the first time she has turned and issue with a local blogger into a national story. I swear, I think she does it to stay in the spotlight.

If Quittypants would just take her millions in book advances and lead a quiet life of shopping and working out as a private citizen, I would be glad enough to live and let live.
But you know she craves the spotlight, and will do or say any outrageous, untruthful thing to attract it.
Therefore, whenever I think of her, I picture her in an orange jumpsuit being led away in handcuffs, to continue her drama in a prison cell, where hopefully, she will do as little damage as possible to our country.

While normally I would agree with you, they have posted on sites all over the address of the where the author of this story works, and are requesting people contact his place of employment and demand his firing.
We know what these people are capable of simply from past experience with AKM’s outing and what was done to Diva…all the hate mail and calls.
These people are seriously deranged, and it proves again just the kind of people that Palin attracts to her.
While I may not be as concerned with the threats of physical violence , I do believe that these people, who worship Palin, will stop at nothing to do whatever they can to harm anyone who is not of the “cult of Palin”.

Each blogger has a different style and that is why they are all read so much. AKM is more cautious, Gryphen is more out there. I enjoy both styles and support their right to blog. I know you also support their right to blog. I think this may all be a set up. Saracuda removes the wedding set, lets everyone see it’s missing, leaves Todd at the picnic on purpose. Rumors begin to mumble… then fly… for days. She says naught about it and lets it fester for as long as possible. No tweets, just twicks. A week later, Megs puts out the ‘they remain married’ teaser. Anyone who’s been there knows full well that you can remove the rings, stay civil, lead seperate lives, but ‘remain married’ for many reasons. This creates even more speculation. I even read one about her putting EVERYTHING in Todds name so if ‘they’ come after her, she has nothing to forfeit. Any subsequent delving into the subject now only raises the ire of her fans, all claiming foul in unison. It now gets viral, mean and dangerous. All the while, the XG sits there and lets it all procede, waiting to claim personal persecution and family intrusion what with all the lies and wicked attacks on her and the clan. As far as ‘breaking her silence’ goes however, I won’t count private meetings of supportive groups with no open press. Once she comes out of her self-imposed exile and takes it on the chin, only then will I concider her silence broken. I would sooner believe anyone else… ‘Anyone But Sarah’… Sound familiar?
IMO, any writer, journalist, blogger (Immoral Minority) who has at any time apologized after printing false information and retracted, is a better person for it. Any one who can apologize is not a coward, and I would trust someone who has made a few mistakes, who has made a sincere apology for it, than someone who never publicly admits he/she ever ever ever made a mistake, ever ever ever apologized for any harsh nasty things he/she has said about anyone, or ever ever ever threaten to sue people through his/her lawyer.
A person who is “sue-happy”, in my book, and will never admit a mistake, a flaw, or who cannot accept tabloid rumors about him/herself, (after having embarked on a huge public platform) is a very sad individual, and won’t garner much sympathy from the backbone of the country.

Nan @ 7:16: I do understand there were other allegation made. My point is, people say stuff all the time about other people. I live in a small city and hear all kinds of stuff about people. Some is true, some not. I have been the subject of some very entertaining rumours. Once, I loaned my house out for a fundraiser. I was at the party, spoke to about 100 people. The next week, I heard from a friend that a rumour was going around that I wasn’t at the party – that I was off galavanting in Italy! Now I know SP is more important than I on a national level, but my family is prominent in my area. I think the best course in dealing with rumours is silence…not threats of lawsuits.

@ 59 rebekkah– I agree, my first reaction to a person who is “sue” happy, is that I don’t trust them and never will. Suits that are justified, in my opinion, are if there is a real loss for a person(s), and if discussion or mediation/settlement are explored first. Trigger-happy people like Palin and her followers are shallow and -actually, fearful (imo). Only 15 demonstrators showed up at Letterman’s. People admired Letterman for apologizing – even though he wasn’t totally wrong. Takes a bigger person than Palin will ever be, to apologize. If Gryphen ends up in that situation, more power to him.

Just two days ago, I was delighting in the banter and bright spirits among all the Alaska bloggers. When the bluster-bomb of Palin’s lawyer dropped, I suddenly remembered a defunct blog called “Palin Pics 4 Truth”. Almost immediately after she posted photos of a fake pregnancy garment, the blogger was inundated with threats that terrorized her so badly that she removed her entire blog from the web. And that was exactly the desired result.
Someone much smarter than $arah is planning these moves. Shannyn was dropped as the target because she’s more beautiful than $arah; they didn’t want any photo comparisons. Gryphen? If some lunatic from Texas flies up to Alaska and shoots him, does anyone in the $arahcult actually believe there will be negative results? I’ve seen this crazy-for-God stuff before. I don’t know about AK, but in this large city, where every playground is surrounded by chain link fencing, anyone visiting an elementary school is required to sign in, wear a visitor’s tag and sign out again. If the teacher hasn’t pre-cleared someone to go to the room, the teacher will be contacted before anyone is told “oh, that’s room number 114, go right ahead.”
If Gryphen’s school is set up similarly, then VF or his minion (just who does deliver these things, anyway) would have to go through the office, and would most likely never get within shouting distance of the classroom.
This could simply be another empty threat from Van Flee, trying to look as if he’s earning some of that huge lawyer bill. ha.
So Ms. P blew off wealthy and powerful Republican women to speak at an NRA function?

I agree completely. I cannot believe the incendiary, simply obnoxious, language that VF used in his letter. He acts like his position allows him to bully people (people who his client does not like for one reason or another). The letter was nothing more than a taunt, to demonstrate they knew his identity and could damage him. You don’t warn people or ask them where want they want to be served with a complaint. If you are serious, and you are trying to protect your client, you just file papers and the sheriff serves them. No threat, no taunt necessary. I really can’t believe him. I hope a bar complaint is filed.

I agree about school security though I don’t think that actually serving Gryphen at school is where the impact is. Gryphen lives and works in the heart of Pland.
It is enough now that VFlea has made the threat and now pbots will now harass the school admins, district admins and PTA people. IMO the whole thing was like a coded message to the pbots to start a harassment campaign against Gryphen.
I have served on a local school board for many years and it is amazing what parents think they are entitled to control.
We have had parents who will threaten to shut down a school if they don’t get things there way. I have seen parents do full scale assault on teachers and try to have them fired and discredited because of any perceived slight.
This is a rue story. We had a family get mad because a teacher told students that they had to wash there hands before making cookies to be served at a school event. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. The parents in question live with out running water and off the grid. The husband of the teacher and the father of the students had a run in over trapping. The parents then tried all kinds of crazy antics to get the teacher (masters in special ed) fired from her job. They even tried to demand that this teacher could only have contact with there kids if supervised.
Now granted when you are in a small school like ours where a family of 5 removing there kids is of great impact to the school might not have the same impact that it would in Gryphens situation. It still could have an impact on him if enough parents in the school are pbots.
If my 5yr. old came home from school crying and traumatized because of Van Flea having ANYONE served on school grounds…….I would be pretty hacked off. Why , I might even sue him !! Hopefully for him , I would not see him in person somewhere……….
Well, After all Sarah’s criticism of bloggers, it seems that she is using them for her own benefit. The Stacy McCain guy appears to make his living blogging. He is the one who outed Gryphen. He does quite a bit of blogging on many issues, many of them misrepresented and twisted to the conservative point of view. He coauthored with Lynn Vincent who is Palin’s Ghost writer.
He has folks on the ground in Alaska, who may be looking over every one’s shoulder and reporting back. His goal is to dig, dig, dig, and twist information to his benefit. One of his operatives is a guy named Dan Riehl, who has his own blog.

He does quite a bit of blogging on many issues, many of them misrepresented and twisted to the conservative point of view. He coauthored with Lynn Vincent who is Palin’s Ghost writer.
He has folks on the ground in Alaska, who may be looking over every one’s shoulder and reporting back. His goal is to dig, dig, dig, and twist information to his benefit. One of his operatives is a guy named Dan Riehl, who has his own blog.

That is, for my money, the most astonishing acknoweldgement in “The Battle for America,” the new ’08 campaign book by Dan Balz and Haynes Johnson, out this week. Not astonishing in the sense that I’m surprised at the motivation — just that the McCain folks admit it.
Here is how Balz/Johnson present it, with an on-record quote from McCain manager Rick Davis:

The town of Sturgis, South Dakota will witness, on Monday, the rare fusion of drunken debauchery, public stripteasing, motorcycle rallying, a live performance by Kid Rock, and – last but not least – a veterans-themed speech by presidential candidate John McCain. Seriously.
On Sunday, the McCain campaign announced that the Senator will participate in the Sturgis Rally 2008 at Buffalo Chip in South Dakota, an annual tribute to American veterans. The event is up the Arizona Republican’s wheelhouse, attracting thousands of active duty and former servicemen, many who have a natural affinity towards the Senator.
But it is hard not to notice the evocative, non-political sideshows that will literally surround McCain’s speech. As the presumptive nominee takes the stage, the “Ringin’ Wet & Wild” women’s wrestling event will be taking place on the main amphitheater. Two hours before then, the “Miss Buffalo Chip Beauty Pageant – Bikinis on the Beach” will be staged at a different venue. That affair is described by ESPN’s Jim Caple as “essentially a topless beauty pageant. And occasionally bottomless, too.”
“During a drenching rain Wednesday night, the contest broke up into smaller groups and one woman wound up dancing naked on a bar top. Her boyfriend/husband saw her and angrily dragged her away as she struggled to put her pants back on and muttered something about how, “It’s only this one week a year.””
How sweet. Sadly, the pageant also sees its share of domestic abuse, which even the event’s organizers admit to Caple is a major problem.
I was very impressed by this article and would recommend it. I do not know who Dan Fagan is (tho I’ve read his name on this blog many times), but I think perhaps he may have evolved closer to the heart of true Christianity.
It is so easy to get lost in snark (especially about the maniacal Palin), but I believe that ultimiately….it does not do the heart (not to mention the true ISSUES) any good.

On the Gryphen thing: I agree that Von Flea’s reason to threaten service at his kindergarten class was to let him know that they knew who he was, where he worked, his name, his job….whoever thinks a group of kindergarteners would be scared by having someone come in and hand their teacher a piece of paper is really stretching things. And, as others have pt’d out, unlikely to happen that way anyway, given security at schools.
I like Gryphen’s blog, and he is snarky, but I LIKE snarky! The snark queen is Sarah Palin, after all, so, she is just getting back what she gave out, especially during that God-awful campaign of hate-mongering she participated in.
Gryphen’s activities in a blog, where he intentionally remains anonymous, have no bearing on his job in an elementary school, as long as his activities are not related to anything harmful to a child. I could argue that many who hold views that are “Republican” , such as hating Obama, should not be teaching children either, but that would be wrong, unless they were actively preaching hate of Obama to the children. If they merely blog about it, however vociferously, on their off time, they are quite free to do that.
Let’s hope Gryphen will be OK after the current raging on the “other side” cools down.
Having said that (and I hate that phrase), I think Gryphen may have gotten caught up with wanting to get a scoop on GINO, and, rather than let it get reported out in the “real news” area first, and then getting to blog about it to his heart’s content, erred in letting himself get dragged into the middle of the rumor, thus potentially affecting it (however unintentionally).
I do not see, though, that stating that he has a source that says Sarah and Todd are done with their marriage and are going their separate ways should have enraged Sarah so much to have gone so bonkers on Gryphen! If the marriage is truly fine and happy and dandy as ever, the proper reaction would be one of mild amusement, and ignoring it. The fact that someone in their camp was scouring the internet for anything said of them and then pouncing on it is strange. It never made the ‘real’ news, and probably wouldn’t have if they hadn’t over-reacted to it. Gee this sounds familiar. Letterman, anyone?

austin, Yea, things do change. My last trip to Austin was to help move said friend home. That’s been 7 yrs. already. But, I’ll always remember the friendly, party hardy, laughing Austin gang.
I posted a comment on AKM’s Ethics story but it was late in the evening.. almost 9:00 pm. I read the story at 8;00 in the morning and was curious as to what that guy would try to say about AKM at the site under her name. I only clicked on the link browsed the page and then closed it. Didn’t click on anything there.
Be fore warned. I would NOT VISIT THAT SITE if I were you. Within less than 5 minutes I got a pop up saying I might have a virus. I had only 1 link open… Mudflats and THAT SITE. It had a message placed all over my desktop ( NOT in a message window that could be closed )on top of the shortcut icons and I could not open Task Manager of anything else on the computer. Even my little Crap Cleaner Application that I use to clean cache files or Cookies off the Computer would not run. Basically no .exe type files. It was basically locked.
Eventually I was forced to do a ‘ System Restore’ just to gain access to the computer. And I purchased additional Virus Software to load on from the store.
Since it was early in the morning and I was ONLY on Mudflats and THAT page…and it happened within 2 or 3 minutes of leaving that Site….I think there are some adware,malware,virus or tracking cookies somehow embedded there that run when you go there. Coincidence maybe..? But I havn’t had any virus issues for over a year or two. And Nothing that locked up my computer.

He said he has to contact his sources in Alaska (he seems to be in D.C.).

Here is the thing. Zaki has multiple sources, not the same as Gryphens and while one of his might be Gryphen, we know the other is a Palin staffer (definitely NOT Gryphen) so if this Dan has as good of sources as he thinks he does, in reality, he should be told the same things that Zaki and Gryphen were told. Just my opinion. What happens if he comes across the information that shows that Zaki and Gryphen were neither lying or just “making stuff up”. Will he print it? Of course it might not be this at all, but it is sort of weird.
As for why would Palin go ballistic over dumb gossip, she would if it were true. It’s easy to ignore gossip that isn’t true and hard to ignore it if it is.

She has this populist appeal (for some) but all her actions and words are the opposite of populists. She is the anti-populist. ha, ha

Just because Meg Stapelton and Thomas Van Flein say the rumors of the Palins getting a divorce are untrue does not mean it is not true. It could simply mean that they are not getting divorced at this time. Lawyers send letters all the time on behave of their clients trying to squash the truth. I’m not saying whether the statements of a pending divorce are true or not, I don’t know and frankly, until it happens (if it ever does), I don’t care. I find it interesting that SP is busy defending 2ns admendment rights. When more Americans than ever own guns, can a rational person actually believe that there is a real threat to the 2nd amendment? Or is it that they will not be happy until every man, woman and child in the USA is armed and dangerous? Until a person can just walk into Wal-Mart and buy a semiassault rifle?
I have no problem with hunting. I am definitely a proponent of gun control, but I’m on the losing side of that debate so far. And as for attacks from Hollywood on 2nd amendment rights, it’s hard to find a place with more guns than in most Hollywood movies.

I am not a big blog commentor until recently, and I have very strong suspicions about the secession issues. I am sure the FBI and other Government orgs follow the many far out groups. Thank heaven.
I am wondering if what $P’s attorney did was ciber bullying when he was letting IM know he knew where he worked and lived. The underlying message seems to me that we will send someone after you. I know they have recently been working on prosecuting cyber bullies.
The latest update seems to be that Dan Riehl has decided to get legal advice before publishing the latest on Gryphen, to which McCain has concurred since it is a cowritten project for the two of them.
According to Riehl, nothing will be published at this time. (until legal okay’s it?)

“Our Sacred Ground is Not Your Playground”
Bear Butte is a sacred site located in the Black Hills, eight miles east of Sturgis South Dakota.
The mountain is sacred to many of the Plains Tribes, including Lakota, Dakota, Nakota, Northern and Southern Cheyenne, Northern and Southern Arapaho. For thousands of years, Tribes have traveled up to hundreds of miles to Bear Butte for their annual ceremonies. Many people today still make their annual journeys to the mountain, from May through August.
Unfortunately, the ongoing struggle to Protect Bear Butte, against the continual encroachment and desecration caused by Sturgis Bike Rally venues, continues today. We have been battling these venues near Bear Butte since 2006. These large biker bars and concert venues continue to expand with further development, hosting huge concerts, bringing tens of thousands of people, vehicles and motorcycles towards Bear Butte.
During the August 2008 Sturgis Rally, Glencoe Campground’s, Rock’n the Rally venue located on Hwy 79 one mile south of Bear Butte, hosted the group KISS bringing absolute chaos to the area. Seven miles and three hours of gridlocked traffic, all headed towards Bear Butte. The same day, Buffalo Chip located off of Hwy 34 & 79, hosted Senator McCain and Kid Rock, multiplying to the chaos. Long time local residents stated they had never seen anything like this before, the worse traffic and chaos they had ever seen out this way.
In June 2008, Target Logistics, the new owners of Broken Spoke Campground, in their tenacity were quoted in the Rapid City Journal regarding the helicopter rides, stating “If someone asks to fly over Bear Butte, we’d take them unless it’s not allowed.”
The desecration from these venues worsens each year, with what they bring to the sacred mountain, Bear Butte. The disrespect is evidenced with loud music heard for miles, huge concerts, strobe lights, helicopters, motorcycle traffic, pyrotechnic firework shows, lude behavior, drunkenness and a half a million people, within less than a few miles of one of this nation’s most sacred places, Bear Butte.

I hope nothing bad happens to Gryphen or AKM. These right-wing bloggers have no conscience. As I recall, AKM and Shannyn defended Vid Omnia in his right to be anonymous (he later outted himself), but they don’t have the same courtesy to allow a left wing blogger to remain anonymous and do it in a national magazine (of low circulation, but whatever). I, too, wish Gryph had waited until there was more corroboration, but we’re behind him now.
Any ideas as to which brand of toothbrush gets the best reception? Mine is worn down and ready to be replaced. Plus it’s red, so it must be faulty. I tried the anagram program and it didn’t come up with any good options for my secret code name, but gave me an idea: Mossy Chimp. What do you think? it seems surreal to watch a serious rant on health care and blue dogs that are basically paid by health industry to tank health care reform — while a woman next to me is watching some lady put laundry away on a reality tv show when that reality tv show is based on a woman who had invitro, birthed many children, had serious plastic surgery, and now her husband has left her for a young chickee AND gets paid to let you watch her live. it is kinda icky gross.

As the presumptive nominee takes the stage, the “Ringin’ Wet & Wild” women’s wrestling event will be taking place on the main amphitheater. Two hours before then, the “Miss Buffalo Chip Beauty Pageant — Bikinis on the Beach” will be staged at a different venue. That affair is described by ESPN’s Jim Caple as “essentially a topless beauty pageant. And occasionally bottomless, too.”…
Following McCain’s speech, country stars Kellie Pickler and Kid Rock will be taking the very same stage for their own live performances.
Maybe Sarah is entering the 2009 Miss Buffalo Chip Beauty Pageant.

Riehl is here in the DC area. Remember the “Macaca” incident with Allen? Problems were focused at Webb after that and Webb shot it all down. Riehl apparently was the instigator. He also was played with by another very phony blogger who later revealed the falsehood and Riehl couldn’t let go of his anwer and intensely tried to sue the guy.
I was absolutely startled by the gloating on both of their websites over getting Gryphen. Like animals coming in for the kill. Scary almost.

BTW I believe SP and Todd are in San Diego (SD). Lynn Vincent lives there. Also McCain coauthored with her on Donkey Cons. So they are all tied together.

I think that says everything, though as I pointed out to my readers, the Republicans don’t need to remind us that they aren’t going to engage in intelligent debate. That’s been obvious for a while now, and Sarah Palin as a possible leader is the cherry on top of their crazy.

It’s amazing that Palin’s team made the divorce story viral by posting a denial on facebook. The story was only on an Alaskan blog before Palin made it be known to the world.

While normally I would agree with you, they have posted on sites all over the address of the where the author of this story works, and are requesting people contact his place of employment and demand his firing.
We know what these people are capable of simply from past experience with AKM’s outing and what was done to Diva…all the hate mail and calls.
These people are seriously deranged, and it proves again just the kind of people that Palin attracts to her.

IMO, any writer, journalist, blogger (Immoral Minority) who has at any time apologized after printing false information and retracted, is a better person for it. Some is true, some not. I have been the subject of some very entertaining rumours. Once, I loaned my house out for a fundraiser. I was at the party, spoke to about 100 people. The next week, I heard from a friend that a rumour was going around that I wasn’t at the party – that I was off galavanting in Italy! Now I know SP is more important than I on a national level, but my family is prominent in my area. I think the best course in dealing with rumours is silence…not threats of lawsuits.

Suits that are justified, in my opinion, are if there is a real loss for a person(s), and if discussion or mediation/settlement are explored first. When the bluster-bomb of Palin’s lawyer dropped, I suddenly remembered a defunct blog called “Palin Pics 4 Truth”. Almost immediately after she posted photos of a fake pregnancy garment, the blogger was inundated with threats that terrorized her so badly that she removed her entire blog from the web. And that was exactly the desired result.
Someone much smarter than $arah is planning these moves. Shannyn was dropped as the target because she’s more beautiful than $arah; they didn’t want any photo comparisons. Gryphen? If some lunatic from Texas flies up to Alaska and shoots him, does anyone in the $arahcult actually believe there will be negative results? I’ve seen this crazy-for-God stuff before. I don’t know about AK, but in this large city, where every playground is surrounded by chain link fencing, anyone visiting an elementary school is required to sign in, wear a visitor’s tag and sign out again. If the teacher hasn’t pre-cleared someone to go to the room, the teacher will be contacted before anyone is told “oh, that’s room number 114, go right ahead.”
If Gryphen’s school is set up similarly, then VF or his minion (just who does deliver these things, anyway) would have to go through the office, and would most likely never get within shouting distance of the classroom.
This could simply be another empty threat from Van Flee, trying to look as if he’s earning some of that huge lawyer bill. ha.

I agree completely. I cannot believe the incendiary, simply obnoxious, language that VF used in his letter. He acts like his position allows him to bully people (people who his client does not like for one reason or another). The letter was nothing more than a taunt, to demonstrate they knew his identity and could damage him. You don’t warn people or ask them where want they want to be served with a complaint. I agree about school security though I don’t think that actually serving Gryphen at school is where the impact is. Gryphen lives and works in the heart of Pland.
It is enough now that VFlea has made the threat and now pbots will now harass the school admins, district admins and PTA people. IMO the whole thing was like a coded message to the pbots to start a harassment campaign against Gryphen.
I have served on a local school board for many years and it is amazing what parents think they are entitled to control.
We have had parents who will threaten to shut down a school if they don’t get things there way. I have seen parents do full scale assault on teachers and try to have them fired and discredited because of any perceived slight.
This is a rue story. We had a family get mad because a teacher told students that they had to wash there hands before making cookies to be served at a school event. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. The parents in question live with out running water and off the grid. The husband of the teacher and the father of the students had a run in over trapping. The parents then tried all kinds of crazy antics to get the teacher (masters in special ed) fired from her job. They even tried to demand that this teacher could only have contact with there kids if supervised.
Now granted when you are in a small school like ours where a family of 5 removing there kids is of great impact to the school might not have the same impact that it would in Gryphens situation. It still could have an impact on him if enough parents in the school are pbots.

The AK bloggers are going a great job in keeping these issues in the foreground and pulling the truth out. Now the righties are pushing the health care issue with “disinformation” as they say in the intelligence community. Keep up the work!

That is, for my money, the most astonishing acknoweldgement in “The Battle for America,” the new ’08 campaign book by Dan Balz and Haynes Johnson, out this week. Not astonishing in the sense that I’m surprised at the motivation — just that the McCain folks admit it.
Here is how Balz/Johnson present it, with an on-record quote from McCain manager Rick Davis:
McCain’s search for a running mate had started in the spring with about two dozen names. Palin was not a serious candidate. One person said she wasn’t even on the initial list; others said she was — barely. I was very impressed by this article and would recommend it. I do not know who Dan Fagan is (tho I’ve read his name on this blog many times), but I think perhaps he may have evolved closer to the heart of true Christianity.
It is so easy to get lost in snark (especially about the maniacal Palin), but I believe that ultimiately….it does not do the heart (not to mention the true ISSUES) any good.
Not saying his words will entirely stop me from feeling snarky. But I’m gonna reflect on that more. I was already heading there due to the commotion over the latest “revelations” about the Palins. Those things may or may not be true, but they ARE rumors. There are enough hair-raising FACTS to worry about.

On the Gryphen thing: I agree that Von Flea’s reason to threaten service at his kindergarten class was to let him know that they knew who he was, where he worked, his name, his job….whoever thinks a group of kindergarteners would be scared by having someone come in and hand their teacher a piece of paper is really stretching things. And, as others have pt’d out, unlikely to happen that way anyway, given security at schools.
I like Gryphen’s blog, and he is snarky, but I LIKE snarky! The snark queen is Sarah Palin, after all, so, she is just getting back what she gave out, especially during that God-awful campaign of hate-mongering she participated in.
Gryphen’s activities in a blog, where he intentionally remains anonymous, have no bearing on his job in an elementary school, as long as his activities are not related to anything harmful to a child. I could argue that many who hold views that are “Republican” , such as hating Obama, should not be teaching children either, but that would be wrong, unless they were actively preaching hate of Obama to the children. If they merely blog about it, however vociferously, on their off time, they are quite free to do that.
Let’s hope Gryphen will be OK after the current raging on the “other side” cools down.
Having said that (and I hate that phrase), I think Gryphen may have gotten caught up with wanting to get a scoop on GINO, and, rather than let it get reported out in the “real news” area first, and then getting to blog about it to his heart’s content, erred in letting himself get dragged into the middle of the rumor, thus potentially affecting it (however unintentionally).
I do not see, though, that stating that he has a source that says Sarah and Todd are done with their marriage and are going their separate ways should have enraged Sarah so much to have gone so bonkers on Gryphen! If the marriage is truly fine and happy and dandy as ever, the proper reaction would be one of mild amusement, and ignoring it. The fact that someone in their camp was scouring the internet for anything said of them and then pouncing on it is strange. It never made the ‘real’ news, and probably wouldn’t have if they hadn’t over-reacted to it. Gee this sounds familiar. Letterman, anyone?

austin, Yea, things do change. My last trip to Austin was to help move said friend home. That’s been 7 yrs. already. But, I’ll always remember the friendly, party hardy, laughing Austin gang.
I posted a comment on AKM’s Ethics story but it was late in the evening.. almost 9:00 pm. I read the story at 8;00 in the morning and was curious as to what that guy would try to say about AKM at the site under her name. I only clicked on the link browsed the page and then closed it. Didn’t click on anything there.
Be fore warned. I would NOT VISIT THAT SITE if I were you. Within less than 5 minutes I got a pop up saying I might have a virus. I had only 1 link open… Mudflats and THAT SITE. It had a message placed all over my desktop ( NOT in a message window that could be closed )on top of the shortcut icons and I could not open Task Manager of anything else on the computer. Even my little Crap Cleaner Application that I use to clean cache files or Cookies off the Computer would not run. Basically no .exe type files. It was basically locked.
Eventually I was forced to do a ‘ System Restore’ just to gain access to the computer. And I purchased additional Virus Software to load on from the store.
Since it was early in the morning and I was ONLY on Mudflats and THAT page…and it happened within 2 or 3 minutes of leaving that Site….I think there are some adware,malware,virus or tracking cookies somehow embedded there that run when you go there. Coincidence maybe..? But I havn’t had any virus issues for over a year or two. And Nothing that locked up my computer.
My best advice… ” Stay away from THAT LINK “

Here is the thing. Zaki has multiple sources, not the same as Gryphens and while one of his might be Gryphen, we know the other is a Palin staffer (definitely NOT Gryphen) so if this Dan has as good of sources as he thinks he does, in reality, he should be told the same things that Zaki and Gryphen were told. Just my opinion. What happens if he comes across the information that shows that Zaki and Gryphen were neither lying or just “making stuff up”. Will he print it? Of course it might not be this at all, but it is sort of weird.
As for why would Palin go ballistic over dumb gossip, she would if it were true. It’s easy to ignore gossip that isn’t true and hard to ignore it if it is.

So someone is trying to track and identify all AKan’s who might abe gainst Palin and cross them to blogs, etc. I mentioned this earlier that this edges on stalking. Possibly not illegal, but certainly immoral and underhanded.
McCain was gloating all over the place on his blog last night. So was Riehl.

She runs on populist appeal, yet she is continually attacking the little people.
She says, the ethics complaints are frivolous and seeking to bring her down. When, in fact, they are filed by concerned citizens who are fulfilling their right and responsibility to question their leaders. Bloggers are evil liars and she threatens to sue.
For a “hockey mom who is a real American”, she seems very anti-”regular” citizen. Even her own description “desecration of her iconic image” shows that she sees herself as a higher power. Not exactly a populist leader. She is basically saying that citizens shouldn’t have any rights to speak ill against their leaders.
She has this populist appeal (for some) but all her actions and words are the opposite of populists. She is the anti-populist. ha, ha
It doesn’t seem that RWV has heard anything to Gryphen’s benefit, not that I think he was looking either, but he is now in the process of cowriting something with McCain and still thinks Gryphen is toast.
Now that the world knows that the right wing bloggers are communicating with Palins lawyer, anything they say could be said to be coming from the Palin camp.

Just because Meg Stapelton and Thomas Van Flein say the rumors of the Palins getting a divorce are untrue does not mean it is not true. It could simply mean that they are not getting divorced at this time. Lawyers send letters all the time on behave of their clients trying to squash the truth. I’m not saying whether the statements of a pending divorce are true or not, I don’t know and frankly, until it happens (if it ever does), I don’t care. I don’t need for the Palins to get a divorce to know what a hypocrite and holier-than-thou piece of work SP is.
I find it interesting that SP is busy defending 2ns admendment rights. When more Americans than ever own guns, can a rational person actually believe that there is a real threat to the 2nd amendment? Or is it that they will not be happy until every man, woman and child in the USA is armed and dangerous? Until a person can just walk into Wal-Mart and buy a semiassault rifle?
I have no problem with hunting. I am definitely a proponent of gun control, but I’m on the losing side of that debate so far. And as for attacks from Hollywood on 2nd amendment rights, it’s hard to find a place with more guns than in most Hollywood movies.
My toothbrush has been fairly quite today. I hope it stays that way. I spent most of yesterday having to answer the dang thing and trying to keep it from joining the mother ship. It’s hard to keep a good toothbrush happy in a holder in the bathroom once it’s seen the galaxy.

I was just reading the new post over there at ‘Mamadance’. The last paragraph pertains to the Gryphen post and Van Flein and also had a copy of Fleins letter to Gryphen. His company email is listed right there at the bottom.
I read some of the other post comments here as well and rather than write some nasty diatribe to him ( like He would care ) I will take Mamadance’s philosophy in this case and send the Law Firm a letter though. Here is the thing. Zaki has multiple sources, not the same as Gryphens and while one of his might be Gryphen, we know the other is a Palin staffer (definitely NOT Gryphen) so if this Dan has as good of sources as he thinks he does, in reality, he should be told the same things that Zaki and Gryphen were told. Just my opinion. What happens if he comes across the information that shows that Zaki and Gryphen were neither lying or just “making stuff up”. Will he print it? Bear Butte is a sacred site located in the Black Hills, eight miles east of Sturgis South Dakota.
The mountain is sacred to many of the Plains Tribes, including Lakota, Dakota, Nakota, Northern and Southern Cheyenne, Northern and Southern Arapaho. For thousands of years, Tribes have traveled up to hundreds of miles to Bear Butte for their annual ceremonies. Many people today still make their annual journeys to the mountain, from May through August.
Unfortunately, the ongoing struggle to Protect Bear Butte, against the continual encroachment and desecration caused by Sturgis Bike Rally venues, continues today. We have been battling these venues near Bear Butte since 2006. These large biker bars and concert venues continue to expand with further development, hosting huge concerts, bringing tens of thousands of people, vehicles and motorcycles towards Bear Butte.
During the August 2008 Sturgis Rally, Glencoe Campground’s, Rock’n the Rally venue located on Hwy 79 one mile south of Bear Butte, hosted the group KISS bringing absolute chaos to the area. Seven miles and three hours of gridlocked traffic, all headed towards Bear Butte. The same day, Buffalo Chip located off of Hwy 34 & 79, hosted Senator McCain and Kid Rock, multiplying to the chaos. Long time local residents stated they had never seen anything like this before, the worse traffic and chaos they had ever seen out this way.
In June 2008, Target Logistics, the new owners of Broken Spoke Campground, in their tenacity were quoted in the Rapid City Journal regarding the helicopter rides, stating “If someone asks to fly over Bear Butte, we’d take them unless it’s not allowed.”
The desecration from these venues worsens each year, with what they bring to the sacred mountain, Bear Butte. The disrespect is evidenced with loud music heard for miles, huge concerts, strobe lights, helicopters, motorcycle traffic, pyrotechnic firework shows, lude behavior, drunkenness and a half a million people, within less than a few miles of one of this nation’s most sacred places, Bear Butte.

I hope nothing bad happens to Gryphen or AKM. These right-wing bloggers have no conscience. As I recall, AKM and Shannyn defended Vid Omnia in his right to be anonymous (he later outted himself), but they don’t have the same courtesy to allow a left wing blogger to remain anonymous and do it in a national magazine (of low circulation, but whatever). I, too, wish Gryph had waited until there was more corroboration, but we’re behind him now.
Any ideas as to which brand of toothbrush gets the best reception? Mine is worn down and ready to be replaced. Plus it’s red, so it must be faulty. In an obvious attempt to distinguish himself from Barack Obama — whom he has previously likened to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears in celebrity and vapidity — John McCain has chosen to take the social high road by sharing the bill at a Sturgis, South Dakota event with a bunch of strippers, drunken bikers and (most prestigiously of all!) “popular” “musician” Kid Rock…
As the presumptive nominee takes the stage, the “Ringin’ Wet & Wild” women’s wrestling event will be taking place on the main amphitheater. Two hours before then, the “Miss Buffalo Chip Beauty Pageant — Bikinis on the Beach” will be staged at a different venue. That affair is described by ESPN’s Jim Caple as “essentially a topless beauty pageant. And occasionally bottomless, too.”…
Following McCain’s speech, country stars Kellie Pickler and Kid Rock will be taking the very same stage for their own live performances.
Maybe Sarah is entering the 2009 Miss Buffalo Chip Beauty Pageant.

Thanks for the welcome. I do follow IM, and like reading Gryphen. I just happened to McCain’s blog the other night (The Other McCain) saw his other one and then went to Riehl. I almost always do a Google search on topics to see what is out there.
Riehl is here in the DC area. Remember the “Macaca” incident with Allen? Problems were focused at Webb after that and Webb shot it all down. Riehl apparently was the instigator. He also was played with by another very phony blogger who later revealed the falsehood and Riehl couldn’t let go of his anwer and intensely tried to sue the guy.
I was absolutely startled by the gloating on both of their websites over getting Gryphen. Like animals coming in for the kill. Scary almost.

McCain has been criticized for his racism among other things. I found a couple of stories he has done that I am going to track and submit elsewhere because I believe he has violated some laws. The multiple blogs lets him comment and toss anything about.

By having Meg Stapleton (“The world is literally (sic) her (Sarah Palin’s) oyster” ) repeat the bloggers’ charges on Facebook, Palin effectively guaranteed coverage from the mainstream media that otherwise would not report claims attributed to unnamed sources on an anonymous blog. But, we all know that Sarah needs to raise money and her base loves it when she fights the “elites”, so give her a break.

Hey, thanks for the comments– How’d you find the article? I wrote it in a fit of pique this weekend, and then my computer froze and I lost the whole thing and had to rewrite it today. Glad it was worth the effort!
There’s so much info to try to get in with her — I couldn’t even address the Levi threats or Sherry. I’m saving that stuff for the next one, though I predict that she will have at least two other scandals before this week is out, so I better get crackin’.

We all need to fight for health care, and oppose this baloney of the political operatives being bused in by the right. I’m so angry about that I can’t see straight. Clearly the right does not want us to engage in democracy. One of their tactics from the leaked email was:
“let rep know you will not engage in intelligent debate!”
I think that says everything, though as I pointed out to my readers, the Republicans don’t need to remind us that they aren’t going to engage in intelligent debate. That’s been obvious for a while now, and Sarah Palin as a possible leader is the cherry on top of their crazy.
Call your reps…write LTTE. We can’t afford to be silent. Americans are dying from lack of health care!

Yeah, austin… gw handed out his medals of freedom to his ideological buddies but hardly handed out any number of the equivalents to our troops overseas. Only 6 handed out thus far… but Jason Dunham did get the 109 commished in his name this weekend in Bath, ME.

Continued from above. Search on McCain brought out his writing for the Washington Times and another comment I posted on IM on criticism of him from a NY paper. I commented on IM last night as Anonymous and stayed that way because there was so much emotion and evil floating about.
McCain has been criticized for his racism among other things. I found a couple of stories he has done that I am going to track and submit elsewhere because I believe he has violated some laws. The multiple blogs lets him comment and toss anything about.
BTW I believe SP and Todd are in San Diego (SD). Lynn Vincent lives there. Also McCain coauthored with her on Donkey Cons. So they are all tied together

when I put in my name it didn’t have any suggestions, but that’s OK I kind of like KAtliuQ. I have to admit I was a bit worried last night when my toothbrush didn’t work (the ones that I keep upstairs for use during the day worked fine) until I realized that it was because it was a red toothbrush. i will be immediately upgrading to an electric version (so it is easier to get paid) in a more appropriate color. Now back to making those shields for our operatives to use while sleeping!
