Thanks for the links, Snoskred. ( Dowd referring to Palin as demented – ha!) I double-dare sarah to enter into a public debate about health care. She’s oh so “bold” hiding behind facebook and a ghost writer who can put her crazy spew into something that resembles “coherent”. I want someone to call her crap OUT and don’t let up until she does.

If Jesus really is coming back I have a feeling that his first order of business is going to be a visit to buttercup to tell her to sit down and shut the freakin’ hayle up!

Good morning, all. Looks like I missed some great fun by leaving the party early last night. Also looks like everyone’s still sleeping in! “Meet the Press” is in its 2nd half and I don’t see any of my Sunday news mudpups.

Bloomberg is on this morning and I have to say, I like the guy. I actually enjoy listening to him.

Round table is coming up and they’ll be talking health care and the uproar.

Hi LynnR- So far this morning, nothing new on Facebook. I read through some of the “learnin’ links” she put up there yesterday and they’re all “opinions” and not researched articles.

“This Week” is on now. Howard Dean and Gingrich are on today and sitting next to each other. Looks weird! Should be interesting as they cover health care.

  9. 9
    BuffaloGalNo Gravatar says:

Hey Samper – I left too early last night but I did get a good sleep!

Is Howard Dean working out ?? He looks like he’s lost a lot of weight. He thinks that all the yelling is just typical GOP business as usual. Gingrich thinks there’s nothing wrong with all the yelling and it’s part of democracy.
How can anyone think that angrily screaming at the top of your lungs is reasonable??

    BystanderNo Gravatar says:

The latest rant from Alaska’s Village Idiot may be the best thing yet for health care reform- pointing out the opposition is the Idiot Fringe. Her “Death Panel” comments are being ridiculed nation wide, including Mike Litwin’s column in the Denver Post today.

It has been reported that of the thugs shouting “no government involvement in health care” half are on Medicare. Stupidity has become a religion in this country.

I figure that no more than 12% of Americans are completely crazy (the 20% who are Republicans, times the 60% of Republicans that are Birfers). They may scream, but that leaves 88% of us to get the job done.

With all of the voices weighing in on all sides of a health care debate, it is a sad that the MSM would pick up Sarah’s crazed comment– unless– it is a master stroke of reverse psychology. I never thought that the MSM could be so clever, so that’s the their plan.

Dean IS looking rather “buff” these days! Probably got away from all that pizza on the campaign trail! But I find that rapid weight loss in someone “of a certain age” tends to make them look a little older. Just me?

Yeah. Right. OK. I got it. Being disruptive, intrusive, divisive, loud, angry, inflammatory, disrespectful of others, threatening, violent in words and actions, ignorant, dishonest, etc. is all part of “democracy”. Newt is an idiot. Why isn’t SOME sane Republican (and I know there are SOME out there!) voicing opposition to this outrageous behavior? Would they tolerate it in their homes? I think NOT. Then we shouldn’t tolerate it at TOWN Hall (it takes a village and all that stuff) meetings!

The Founding Fathers are all rolling around in their graves (can you feel the earth moving?) thinking we have become the antithesis of their intentions. They would NEVER have behaved so badly, opposing position or not! They, I am quite sure, exercised the utmost in manners and decorum, even in disagreement. At least, I haven’t HEARD of fisticuffs going on at their meetings!

This is just ONE MORE REASON that if we can attend a TH Meeting, we do so with the utmost intelligence, FACT, calm and respect. We don’t want to lose our cool (our President is a great example of keeping cool!) and thereby diminish our message. Visit whitehouse.gov for clear, concise summaries of the points on the bill as it is being revised and hammered out. Speak calmly and in a normal speaking voice, with confidence. It’ll drive the crazies mad that we aren’t shouting back, giving them a platform to do likewise.

I’m still a little worried about Oregon Sue, who intends to attend a meeting WITH a sign. She hasn’t confirmed that she will NOT go alone into the fray. She needs to work the Buddy System, as do we all. Don’t go alone! You have no idea how riled up folks could get and how it could affect you. ESPECIALLY if you take a sign to voice a reasonable statement (which I wholeheartedly support). I happened to miss the one nearby, but am keeping my eyes open for another one before end of month. I plan to hire body guards, just like SP does! OK, I lied. I’ll take BF! And he will NOT like it, but I find that “withholding” (if you know what I mean) tends to persuade him to do that which he isn’t crazy about doing! ;-)

My toothbrush was picking up today’s message. I regret to inform the Commandant that I respectfully decline the invitation to be on the Death Panel. My mom wouldn’t like that and I don’t want Van Fleebag coming after me for killing Trig. He (fleabag) gives me the creeps and if I’m gonna have legal stuff going on, I don’t want him near me. Not even in the same courtroom. Blecccchhh!

Somehow, I missed the boat on this stuff:

    Who are “BROWN” shirts?
    What is “ASTROTURF” whatever?

I’ve seen the expressions, but can’t connect the dots.

    Maybe because I drink a lot. ;-)

I found a very interesting comment on TPM Muckraker. The commenter takes on $P’s self-exploitive sexual dimension in her political activities. It is a topic we rarely dare to mention for fear of appearing anti-feminist, jealous, dabasing etc. I find the comment to explain a lot of what I personally feel.

    http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/08/palin-obamas-death-panel-could-kill-my-down-syndrome-baby.php#comments

The commenter first uses the term “bimbo”, is trashed for it in following comments, and then goes on to explain :

“I used the terms advisedly and thus beg to disagree.

She simply would not be where she is if she didn’t drive old Republican white guys like Barnes and Kristol and the delegates to the last Republican convention into a mortifyingly transparent state of sexual frenzy. She has unashamedly used her looks as a shield to protect herself from the kind of scrutiny she most certainly would have received if she were a man, or an older, less attractive woman, who went babbling vapid yet incindiary nonsense the way she does.

Even Bachmann can form complete sentences and even intelligible, if demented, concepts.

The steady stream of culpably incindiary mendacity that comes from Palins’s mouth is nothing less than the political obscenity and the fact that it’s being spouted by what passes for a sex symbol among old rich white guys is why she came so terrifyingly close to the White House. She is nothing more, and nothing less, than an authoritarian political porn star.

If we’re not allowed to acknowledge, and frankly confront, the self-exploitive sexual dimension of Sarah Palin’s rise to power (such as it is) for fear of transgressing some self-imposed feminist speech code, her prominence on the national stage is thoroughly incomprehensible. If we can’t address that because it’s not politically correct, it’s impossible to accurately convey how she can simultaneously represent a grave danger to the nation and yet also be utterly and completely insignificant.”

I totally agree that the term “political porn star” defines $P perfectly, and is not used lightly or as a mere insult. It is an exact deffinition of her.

Glad to hear many speaking out on Palin’s DEATH PANEL comments. This from Howard Dean: (see video at CNN.com) This one titled “stop makin’ stuff up!”

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean told CNN Sunday that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had deliberately made up charges that the Obama administration’s health care bill would lead to euthanasia.

“About euthanasia, they’re just totally erroneous. She just made that up,” he said. “Just like the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ that she supposedly didn’t support.

Suffice it to say that I found her open toed red sandals, glittery toe-nails and short skirts on podiums and stages (anyone who has ever worked on stages knows better than to do this, unless they are deliberately enticing the press and public to take Paris Hilton style shots up their skirts) appallingly Pole-Danceresque.

    From the link:

From the county where drunk driving is considered a sport, comes this absolutely true story.

Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a bar in Paris, Tennessee. After last call the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk.

The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity in which he tried his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his truck and trailer and fall into it. He sat there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off.

Finally, he got into the car and started the engine, switched the wipers on and off–it was a fine, dry summer night–, flicked the blinkers on and off a couple of times, honked the horn and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little and then remained still for a few more minutes as some more of the other patrons’ vehicles left. At last, when his was the only car left in the parking lot, he pulled out and drove slowly down the road.

The police officer, having waited patiently all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and administered a breathalyzer test. To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence that the man had consumed any alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said, ‘I’ll have to ask you to accompany me to the police station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken.’

‘I seriously doubt it’, said the truly proud Hillbilly. ‘Tonight I’m the designated decoy.’

Rahm Emanuel’s brother will not kill Sarah Palin’s baby. While this will require us to gut HR 3200 “America’s Health Choices and Murder Sarah Palin’s Baby Act of 2009,” we’re currently working with Henry Waxman to remove the extensive Sarah Palin’s baby-killing provisions from the final bill. While this will probably cost us Andrew Sullivan’s support, we recognize that this is a necessary sacrifice for securing broad bipartisan support of health care reform

And now for an embarrassing story, was one of the last two people left in chat last night when Mibbits4179 came in saying she was AKM. Said she had forgotten how to log into chat using her real name. I didn’t believe this could be AKM seeing as how this was her web site and all, so we wouldn’t tell her. To make matters worse, the person I was chatting with bailed on me. Looked up and poof, she was gone. Won’t name any names..but thanks,Gramiam.

A few moments later AKM did actually log in, it had really been her. I felt like such a jerk. She had stopped to by to thank all of us for our support and to see if we had a good time. Chatted for a few and wished her well on her upcoming travels. I wish I could go to Pittsburgh, meet up but events have comspired to make that impossible…all you guys toss one back for me and all of us unable to attend. Depending on your mood, you could toss back one for all of us or you could do one for each of us. Have fun and pay no attention to your fellow bloggers crying in the corner.

    A Day in the Life of a Conservative (1+ / 0-)

This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the US department of energy. I then took a shower in the clean water provided by the municipal water utility. After that, I turned on the TV to one of the FCC regulated channels to see what the national weather service of the national oceanographic and atmospheric administration determined the weather was going to be like using satellites designed, built, and launched by the national aeronautics and space administration. I watched this while eating my breakfast of US department of agriculture inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the food and drug administration.

At the appropriate time as regulated by the US congress and kept accurate by the national institute of standards and technology and the US naval observatory, I get into my national highway traffic safety administration approved automobile and set out to work on the roads build by the local, state, and federal departments of transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the environmental protection agency, using legal tender issed by the federal reserve bank. On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the US postal service and drop the kids off at the public school.

After spending another day not being maimed or killed at work thanks to the workplace regulations imposed by the department of labor and the occupational safety and health administration, enjoying another two meals which again do not kill me because of the USDA, I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to ny house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and fire marshal’s inspection, and which has not been plundered of all it’s valuables thanks to the local police department.

I then log on to the internet which was developed by the defense advanced research projects administration and post on freerepublic.com and fox news forums about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can’t do anything right.

Has Gingrich gone insane? Did his Geritol get spiked with Palin Koolaid? Or has he become a secret mole for the DNC?

He’s asking Vets and Seniors to give up their healthcare? Really? And he thinks that they’ll do it? Really? And this sacrifice is to show solidarity with the principals for the Republican Party? Really? Because the GOP is so caring of the health and well-being of Vets, the elderly, the infirm and children.

Well, in that respect, it is consistent with the new GOP. They want everyone to pay their own way, no matter the resulting death by starvation, lack of heat in a Buffalo, N.Y. winter or denial of healthcare. They have no problems with Vets living on the street and begging for food. And I’m sure they’d be happy to cut off all Federal funding to Emergency Rooms (you know, the Republican Universal Healthcare Plan.)

Yah, Newt. You go for it. (You weren’t thinking you’d be considered for the R ticket in 2012, were you? Well, kiss that goodbye.)

    Palin accused of attempted bribery
Motion to amend says new evidence shows bribery

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, who left office in disgrace July 26th under a cloud of ethics charges, is now being accused of a federal claim of attemped bribery. See federal claim (PDF 52 kb)

To clarify a previous complaint, the motion also accuses Palin of a violation of Alaska’s constitution.

    From the motion to amend:

“2.Plaintiffs wish to add a very serious federal claim of attempted bribery and other violations of similar federal and state statutes under supplemental jurisdiction….

….offering state funds and support of legislation to third parties in exchange for them convincing Plaintiffs to drop this lawsuit in federal or state court.”
Palin has had 21 ethics complaints filed against her, two of which she has been found guilty, three are still pending. One of those involves the Alaska Fund Trust set up by Palin and her friends to fend off ethics compalints. Palin has claimed she has over $600,000 in legal bills from these complaints, documents so far have shown only $120,000 in bills.

This, from Wendy on another forum I frequent regarding the hypocrisy of Rush Limbaugh. (Why hasn’t Jon Stewart called him out on this?)

“About five years ago, MoveOn.org held a campaign commercial contest. People were invited to make 30 and 60 second spots, and submit them to a compilation site for people to vote on. There were hundreds of entries to this contest; one of them made nazi comparisons.

The right wing hit the ceiling — how dare anybody compare an American president to nazis, it was beyond the pale that anybody should ever suggest any parallels, Rush Limbaugh (among others) demanded that Democrats in Congress be called to account for the fact that moveon had allowed the contest entry to be uploaded onto their server (it was disqualified from their contest and removed from the site within a couple of days, but that wasn’t good enough for Rush).

Right wing talk radio and blogs were in a lather about this for days; it was an Outrage! A Travesty! Outside the Realm of Acceptable Political Discourse! They demanded a congressional resolution condemning moveon.org, they demanded that congressional candidates reject donations from anybody who also donated to moveon.org. The mere existence of this 60-second bit by some random guy on the internet was proof that Democrats and liberals had no appreciation for rational civic engagement.”

Of course, now the shoe is on the other foot and the gander is getting sauced. Republicans have always had a problem with equality. Democrats can’t do it but Republicans can. Republicans have a right but Democrats do not.

I hope it all comes back to bite them in the voting booth. I know some registered Republicans that are simply disgusted with all of this.

I’ve called it Fascism (the Nazi’s were Fascists, not Socialists no matter what they labeled themselves) and I’ll continue to call it Fascism.

Haven’t gone to bed yet. ABC news has come on. They are mentioning the Healthcare debate battle and how on the White House there are videos to dispute the various rumors out there and debunk them.

They mention Sarah’s Facebook page as one of them. They say Good Morning America tomorrow will do a ‘ fact check ‘ on these rumors. People may want to tune in. There may be some ‘ facts ‘ that they cover that may be relevant to those debates up there in Alaska.
Follow up with ABC News to see what they go over.

If Sarah was interested in joining the debate on healthcare reforem, she would be willing to be interviewed (with a real journalist) and defend her position.

But, she won’t because she is a coward.

She is hiding behind her ghostwriter and her facebook page.

Keith O totally and completely ripped into Sarah tonight on Countdown with a special comment on her Death Panel facebook article.
