UGH. I just got an email forward. Slander on the healthcare reform! There is a long detail line by line- very long and looks official, but here is the brief. I’ll forward it to Senator Begich, and the head of the Democratic offices here, any other suggestions?
A brief summary of Obama’s health care plan:
1) Mandatory End-of-Life planning will be instituted for the elderly who are likely to be denied treatment,
Mandates health care for illegal aliens
2) Mandates funding of abortion-especially inner city children more likely to be minorities,
3) Paves the way for Christianity to be excluded from health care organizations,
4) Refuses to exclude funding sex-change operations
5) Rations health care on all levels
6) Allows government to determine what care can be provided at what cost
7) Sets a standard for the maximum health care providers can earn
9) Taxes businesses and individuals who do not have approved health care plans.

Agreed, there are those who are brain-washed beyond hope. However, I have changed some minds of those on the fence by giving them accurate data on other issues.
I emailed the person who sent me the ghastly email, explaining that AARP has sat at the table in the making of the healthcare reform bill. AARP is a membership organization that protects its members. For him to contact them with his concerns rather than believing emails that he gets, since he is a member.
sdragon @27– my suggestion is to email each of them on their websites….it is only 5 am in alaska right now………maybe when they are up and online they can do some cleanup at ADN.

Hefty in one hand and recycling bin in the other, I headed to the front door, where I’m met by my sister’s dog, Cassie.
I probably could have stopped her from snaking under my legs and out the door, but my hands were full and maybe she had to ‘go’.
She did her bidness as I made my way to the curb. As I turned around to go back inside, without warning she suddenly took off, bolting around the neighbor’s house, completely oblivious to my hissing her name as loudly as I could.
But then, almost immediately she came back from around the corner. She’s shaking her head and snorting. Poor baby, you sneezin’?
But then… the Smell. Simultaneous thoughts: ‘Oh, no’ ‘Maybe not’ ‘She’s not a stupid dog’ ‘Oh, sh!t…’ ‘Awww…. SH!T!’
Yup. Skunked.

My dog got skunked last week. Run to Petco and get “Nature’s Miracle Skunk Odor Remover.” The stuff works great!!!!!! I was so dreading having him/the house smell like skunk for 6 months and there is no odor at all after using the stuff.
Mona Lisa, Oh no, been there. I have the recipe. I know it’s been posted before, in case you didn’t see it– 1qt. peroxide, quarter cup baking soda, couple drops of dish soap. My Labs are big girls( 96 & 99 lbs.) so I have to make bigger batches. I also have a young cat that thought a young skunk could be his friend. It only took 3 times for Ray to learn that Stinky did not want to be his friend!

We can see for ourselves that there are “two Sarah Palins” out there – the one whose word salad makes our educated brains swell and the now-obvious more articulate non-Palin-authored comments on Facebook. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the distinguishing characteristics; in fact, all it takes is a sound high school education.
In today’s “walkback” of her latest incitement to violence alluding to death panels and the murder of her son and parents, the clue is absolutely obvious: SARAH PALIN WOULDN’T KNOW ENOUGH TO CORRECTLY PUNCTUATE A PLURAL POSSESSIVE! So now we can be sure that perhaps her bookwriter is tasked with the creation of a more intelligent version of this intellectually-challenged women.
Now we can begin taking educated guesses at the authorship of the ‘non-sarah’ posts.
Of course, there is always the possibility that she is actually a schizoid: one personality who reads and devours everything in print as she claimed to Couric and the other sarah who couldn’t find her way out of a grammatical paper bag with one way arrows on it!
I believe we all know the answer and with each authentically-sarah comment on facebook or twitter, she cements even stronger the fact that she isn’t capable of running anything – even a freak show she calls her life.

The reference to the Obama “death panels” is disgusting. The statement about people being denied care based on a bureaucrat’s determination of that person’s “level of productivity in society” is crass, hurtful and false.
These are difficult times for our country – OUR country…all of us. That the former Republican nominee for Vice President would stoop to this level in order to appeal to the shrinking base of her party is beyond understanding.
When she quit her job last month she said she was going to persue “a higher calling.” Instead she has sunk to depths that even I didn’t think she was capable of.
I have no idea where she thinks this kind of rhetoric will take her but this is not leadership by any defination. Shame on all of you for this behavior. If you think this is acting like a Christian you seriously misread what that word means.
In the interests of full disclosure I am a Democrat who never thought that the former Governor had what it took to hold the office to which she was nominated. Today, I thank her for confirming my fears.

Campbell should not be confirmed. I think he will try to control the Military action in the State. This may have detrimental effects. Call the Military to control those that oppose them.. He needs to not be in the office.

My dog got skunked earlier this year. The above formula, hydrogen-peroxide 1 bottle, 1/4 c baking soda, 2 Tlbs DAWN detergent.
Blue Dawn detergent. Has to be that one. That is the one, Wildlife rescue uses to degrease sea birds from oil spills, its the only thing that will get the oil off without harming the animal.
And be careful of your dogs eyes, course that is most likely where she got it.
I feel for you…the smell gets everywhere!

I haven’t gotten any emails yet either, which is very surprising considering all the emails I received during the campaign from my republican family. I’m kind of hoping that they know this is so off the wall they are not willing to embarrass themselves by forwarding it to me. That’s my hope anyway. I’m pretty sure it’s because they know I would email the facts right bk at them and they don’t want to hear it.
I am not feeling too bad about being left out tho. They make me crazy.

BF’s doggie got skunked, but it was back in the day before all the recipes for odor elimination flew through cyberspace.
We used tomato juice. Gallons and gallons of tomato juice. We got it in bulk at Sam’s Club.
Then, we had a doggie that smelled like skunky tomatoes.
Poor Sammy. And poor us! The house reeked for weeks.
ALSO TOO: For the HOUSE, try ODOBAN. I was just turned onto this stuff via comments on the product at Sam’s Club. I got me some of that there stuff and my house has never smelled more pleasant! This stuff doesn’t MASK odors, it ELIMINATES them by MAGIC. Try it anywhere skunky doggie has been.

The articles I read and the shows I watched were very derogatory toward Palin and lumped her in with Limbaugh and the like. IMHO it is good news that they are not letting her get away with it and are discrediting the whackjobs that are trying to spread fear. I thought someone here might feel the same.
Right now I am most concerned with the protestors in AK and what the Alaskan leg is gonna do. Hope we hear something soon.

Rick Warren is no saint (well, at least not in the other than Baptist perspective in which everybody is a ‘saint’) but it is highly unlikely he is working for Palin. She is more in tune with the Jerry Prevo’s and Franklin Graham’s who are, believe it or not, a whole other kettle of fish, so to speak. There is a rather large spectrum of characters within the evangelicals, which include even Sojourners Jim Wallis who wrote the book “God’s Politics; Why the Right gets it Wrong, and the Left Doesn’t Get it”. Of course he wrote that a few years ago before the left starting getting on board again for some of the policy changes that will hopefully benefit the poor. I expect he is thinking they might be a little more likely to ‘get it’ now.

My brother-in-law picked up the Nature’s Miracle Skunk Odor Remover stuff first thing this morning, the dog smells a lot better already, although it still seems like the air is full, and I mean FULL, of the smell of really-burned extra-garlicky garlic bread.
What with all the dancing around I did out on the porch last night, trying to keep her from touching me OR getting into the house past me, I apparently stepped in her musk-laden drool and tracked it into the house.
(Meh… the carpets needed replacing anyway).
Update: As I was writing the above, my sis …ahem… ‘found’ the reason why the air is still so pungent. Apparently, the poor dog was hit almost exclusively in the mouth (IN her mouth!) as attested to by the scatterings of… well… I’ll spare you all, since it’s lunchtime or soon to be….

ABC news has come on. They are mentioning the Healthcare debate battle and how on the White House webpage there are videos up to dispute the various rumors out there and debunk them.
They mention Sarah’s Facebook page as one of them. They say Good Morning America tomorrow will do a ‘ fact check ‘ on these rumors. People may want to tune in. There may be some ‘ facts ‘ that they cover that may be relevant to those debates up there in Alaska.

Someone mentioned that Shannyn had the Story up on Huffpo now, from yesterday. It covered her Medicaid scandal and the health debate issues. I tried rebutting some of the troll comments on there last night. I recognized some of the Mudflat regulars and there is one particular Palinbot sea of pee fan (I had seen her posts at the other site weeks ago-before I stopped popping in) Jean55 that likes to go on Huffpo to defend $arah about anything she does. She’s one of their regulars over there and tries to spread disinformation and give the $arah excuses… they are picking on her… she has all this debt because….etc.

A conservative activist named Kenneth Gladney of St. Louis was injured in a fight during a town hall protest. He claims he was beaten up by SEIU protestors. Video, however, shows that he was beating on an SEIU representative already on the ground when another SEIU protestor pulled him down. The video shows him walking around afterwards. However, now he is in a wheelchair, protesting, claiming he injured his knee, shoulder, hip, and head.
Other conservative activists are taking donations to help pay for his health care because he was recently laid ff and has no health insurance.
Can you believe this? He’s protesting health cae reform and e has no health care insurance!!!!!!!!!

The latest “Sarah” posts, obviously written by someone else, take on the classic Beck pattern: Day 1 encourage riots. Day 2 plea for calm. Day 3 call for the murder of the Speaker of the House. It keeps the idiots stirred up, and the ratings up, and that is all that matters to the haters and traitors at Faux.
I have several explanations for Sarah’s conflicting Facebook posts (one minute poor Trig & the Heath’s are standing in front of the Death Panel and in the next, she admonishes people to tone down the rhetoric and engage in meaningful discussion):
One post is written on medication; one post is written without medication.
Each post has a different ghost writer; neither was written by Sarah. (The ghost writers forgot to check with each other).
She really hasn’t read the 1000+ page document, but wants to be sure and cover all sides of the issue.
Some Republican higher-up told her that she was making it harder and harder for them to defend their hair-brain tactics, dial it back.
Pajama-clad bloggers sitting in their parents’ basement keep hacking into her Facebook account and posting stuff in her name. For the sake of the troops, stop it!
She doesn’t know anything about health care issues; her expertise is energy. She just needs to keep her name in front of the public.
She is feeling a little sorry that she quit her job; it was easier to get attention in that high profile job than it is as an ordinary hokey mom.
She actually is writing her book; those Facebook posts are chapter 9.

The above is written with humor and tongue-in-cheek (don’t sue me). The sad truth is that MSM covers everything that she says, whether it is true or not. They give the same unwarranted attention to crazies like Michelle Bachmann. Their theory is that it is more sensational, and it doesn’t require alot of work. Now that one of the loonies brought a gun to a health care discussion in Arizona (see HuffPo) maybe the senseless violence will be the wake up call to stop the distractions and the crazy remarks and just, please, for once, try to solve the health care problems with reasonable thought and discussion. And you notice that the RepoTaliban are not holding there own public Q&A sessions. They don’t want to have to answer questions about health care. They just want to make sure that no American has the freedom to meet peacably with their elected representatives to discuss an important issue.
That, to me, is the most important point here. That the RepoTaliban is not willing, itself, to answer the same questions from the public that the Democrats are trying to address. And secondly that they are using Brown Shirt violence to achieve that end
So one of the questions for Dean, I’m sure, will be how the internet and truth seeking, truth speaking bloggers can help spread the word and attract wider audiences.
I see many of the sites that I went to in the last year struggling to survive now that the election is over. That is a big concern to me as there were so many great sources, each with their own bit of truth each with their own way of looking at the larger picture. We are now losing some really great voices.
Attackerman and The Carpetbagger Report have joined groups of bloggers, Smirking Chimp is struggling and probably lost. Combining under one mast head may be good short term, but will that combining of voices under some kind of semi-corporate organization help to or eventually stifle independent thinking and expressing?

I watched Fox this morning were there were discussing the White House web site. The female said, Isnt this website being use to collect names on people to retaliate against?” Didnt matter what was being talked about, the female talking head on Faux always said this, about every 20 seconds. It’s quite simple — Her message from the end of last week got the attention that she & her staff wanted. That has been playing out in the media and blogs and she has succeeded in inciting her followers which will carry on. Now it’s the change of message in order to futher her visibility in the media. It too is working as you are all here writing about it together with the Huff blogs, etc, MSM.
It’s very simple play. It is not rocket science to figure it out. You are looking far to deep for the explanation and excuses. Throwing out names of people who wrote the posts etc. It’s no one that we would recognize — not Warren or anyone. She has a staff who don’t write in word salads.
People write the press releases and speeches for Obama and have done for Presidents for decades. Senators have staff doing the same. Candidates do too. It’s now the same for her. The only time you will know it’s her is when it’s on camera otherwise her staff will be writing the bulk of what appears with her name on it.

I’d don’t believe Palin wrote either Facebook “press release”. I think it was staffed out by Meg of the stapled tongue. I think the first writer was given talking points. And when it went too far (especially after being called out by Dr. Dean) a second writer was called in and given talking points and instructions to tone it down.
I’m not good enough to spot stylistic changes. But I’m hoping an expert would back me up. Two writers. Neither Palin.
As for Rush, Beck, O’Reilly et al dialing it back? Well, after that gun was found in the Town Hall meeting…they can’t dial it back. They’ve opened Pandora’s box and they’ll be held liable for it. Either in the voting booth…or the courtroom. I hope both.

I just got a call from my cousin — one of her dogs got hit by a skunk last night in her back yard. It’s the first skunk I’ve heard of around my area this year. Time to watch my front garden as I almost got hit last year. Walked out my front door and 6 feet away was Pepe in my garden!!! Almost had a screen door like in the cartoons where you run through the screen!! Very close!!

Not that I had any doubts, but considering the hate that has been generated recently against the Obama administration, I am VERY glad to hear that confirmed by someone ‘in the know’!
I have some friends who worked at a just-built sports venue years ago where Reagan was to appear for a ceremony. They were amazed at what they were told to do by the Secret Service to make the location safe according to ‘presidential visit’ standards. When the maintenance supervisor objected to taking down several stadium light poles that had been installed only 2 weeks before, he quickly changed his mind after one glare from the men with the dark suits, earpieces and sunglasses!
From what I’ve read and heard, the current Secret Service has a much more challenging and dangerous job than they did back in 1984. Thank goodness we have those brave men and women doing what they do!

You’re trying to use logic against a Palinbot and you should know by now…it just doesn’t work!
There have been many examples of her loyal followers berating people for making fun of her when all they did was quote her exactly. Remember Tina Fey’s second (?) appearance as SP during the Couric interview when she read Palin’s response to a question verbatim (which ironically included something about health care reform)? All of her little lackeys got their panties in a major twist about that one. Who needs scriptwriters when you have word salad right from the source?!?!

f not, there should be a rebuttal, as it seems many mothers are upset the way Palin continues to use her kids, and many mom’s with special needs children are pro healthcare reform.
My sister has a special needs child she and a Republican. But, she can’t stand the way Palin uses her child for political points and is hopeful that the reform would help her child.

Palin fathers will campaign for Idaho Republican candidate

WASHINGTON — The fathers of Sarah and Todd Palin will be joining forces this month to help an Idaho congressional candidate who’s getting an early start on his 2010 election bid.
Both Chuck Heath and Jim Palin will be in Idaho later on this month to help out Vaughn Ward, a Republican candidate for Congress. They’ll be attending events for Ward at the end of the month in Boise and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Ward’s campaign spokesman said.
Thank God!!! They overode veto. I have a list of the yeas and nays too. Took nores. More later but busy.

The Palin family are originally from Idaho and I believe that is where Sarah was born. Idaho is also home to some radical political groups. One of which promotes secesssion(sp) from the US. Both her father and Todd were members of the Alaskan Independence Party (which advocated breaking away from the US). It has been reported that Todd and maybe Sarah were members for 7 years. She even gave a speech at one of their meetings. I believe it was when she was actively involved with politics in Wasilla.

I think you missed the point, the point being that Levi was playing the fall guy. I think he did extraordinarily well for playing off such a powerful force as Kathy Griffin, whom he hardly knows.
You cannot criticize Levi because he’s not very interesting, that’s unfair.
Criticism is cheap, free even and as such I can afford to had it out liberally….lol. But all in good fun.
I’m pulling for Levi, but he been stuttering, and mumbling ever since we’ve first seen him on the stage. It’s time for him to Man Up and speak with a Voice because people want to hear what he’s got to say…and seriously I applaud all the experiences out of the alaska woods he’s had to help him ‘grow’…noone can take that from him.
