Of course, I’m not actually here as you read this. I’m off somewhere enjoying the last gasp of summer. So, I can’t tell you specifics about the show, but Shannyn’s always got something interesting on deck.
It’s not like we have nothing to talk about this week – health care and the public option, the President indoctrinating our kids with a love of learning, the communist statue outside the NBC studios that was put there by that radical leftist Rockefeller! Oy.

Shannyn! Public option is not “free” for those who opt for it, taxpayers don’t pay for it, those who opt for public option PAY! But it’s a reasonable premium. If insurance companies go broke well, I say “welcome to Real America!”

This woman is WRONG…even elementary kids “vote” in every election. Scholastic News always has political info for grades K-8, etc.

Neva, librarian, Pres Obama used technology to help win the election, and broadcasting on tv is old news. I think it’s great that she’s on, and has a good idea about how to present the talk, but he used technology more than any President.

I think it’s getting harder to not get defensive around all of these conservative people. It’s really hard to actually have a civil and productive exchange if we have the hair up on our neck and we’re in a defensive posture. I don’t know what the answer is, but I wish both sides could / would be able to stick with the facts and keep the tone calm and healthy.

Shannyn it is weird to think it’s either left or right, and that’s where the right get it all wrong when they talk about the left. We are so much more open than those on the right. I think the left are far more centrists than what the right think, or try to think.
The vicious hatred is a diversion to the media who cares to verify its untruth. The total lack of respect toward the president and the temper fits is a model to their children that is creating a new generation of haters. To be so full of hostility leaves no room for creativity, growth, or peace…a real liberal idea…geez! It is draining our country of healing that we desperately need. We could accomplish so much if the atmosphere was one of creativity and construction, of fostering the best of all people to give to the well being of society as a whole. We all benefit when people are healthy and at their best. They become taxpayers who pay their own way. It is so sad.

Why is it that people who call the President horrible names that they don’t even know the meaning of…recoil when they are called racist. They cannot give a single good reason for pulling their children out of school so that they do not have to hear the President speak to them.

Don’t people know it isn’t the disagreeing it is the name calling ect that makes people think you are a racist.I don’t happen to agree with everything he does either but I do like the man and his quick smile..It is not forced like some are.I just sent Senator Snowe a thank you note for at least trying to work with the democrats on the many issues that have come up.Wisconsin has a really good health care program that is government funded as does Minnesota,apparently Pawlenty doesn’t know about that from his rants.

I have never been embarrassed by a speech by President Obama. I have, been inspired at times. At the same time I am getting PO’d by his sliding on public health reform, rendition, not going after war criminals, caving to wall street, etc. But just remember the other choice was McCain/Palin—OMG!

I have thought the same thing. I often wonder if anyone realizes the dangers of Murdock having as much power as he does. He has complete freedom to say whatever he wants (via his network and newspapers) and control the message to the American public….thus public opinion and policy.
Doesn’t anyone else think this is very dangerous? Especially since everyone knows his goal isn’t to bring fair and balanced news. Who knows what his ultimate goal is in bringing down President Obama and dividing America.
We are a lot weaker when we are divided than when we stand together—-and he knows it.

@117 trisha – In total agreement that Murdoch is dangerous and have posted in other areas/forums about him. Just google him and read the Wickipedia entry, including everything that News Corp owns.
People keep stating that Fox should fire Beck, Hannity, etc. They are saying exactly what Murdoch wants them to say and stirring things up – there is no way he’d fire them. As to Beck losing all those advertisers – most are still with Fox, just not his show. If some did leave Fox, it wouldn’t bother Murdoch as long as his plans are being met.
His money and ties were what got the legislation changed to enable him to buy up so much of the media and have more of a monopoly than is safe. He even became a US citizen – he couldn’t have bought up what he did without being a citizen. Time to strip him of everything (including citizenship) and send him back to Australia………but I don’t think they want him either!
