An Emmy for Tina Fey? You Betcha!

OK, it’s not the Medal of Freedom (although some would say she deserves it), but Tina Fey will be able to see an Emmy from her house thanks to the infamous ex-almost-one-term, almost-a-heartbeat-away from leader of the free world, Sarah Palin.

Fey received an Emmy Award on Saturday for her impersonation of Republican vice presidential contender Sarah Palin on “Saturday Night Live.”Accepting her trophy for best guest actress in a comedy, Fey thanked “SNL” producer Lorne Michaels and her parents, “who are lifelong Republicans, for their patience.”

She was honored at the Creative Arts Primetime Emmys, which recognize technical and other achievements for the 2008-09 season and preceded next weekend’s main ceremony. Fey has the chance for more awards: She could repeat last year’s win as best actress in a comedy series for “30 Rock,” and the show also could again claim top comedy honors.

Well played, Ms. Fey.

Congrats to Tina! I hope she wins for 30 Rock!

I don’t know where to put this link (about today’s DC Tea Party) so I’ll put it here. I didn’t think it would be fitting to put it in the last open thread which is about Ground Zero. Many photos of hateful/rac*ist signs are showing up on various websites (who are calling these peeps out, btw). Wonkette has some of them and you won’t believe them. So sad……….

Here is a quote of Tina Fey’s from the Reuter’s article at
    http://www.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUSTRE58C09Y20090913

“Mrs. Palin is an inspiration to working mothers everywhere because she bailed on her job right before Fourth of July weekend. You are living my dream. Thank you, Mrs. Palin!”

    Pretty cute.

Tina’s performance was spectacular and nailed it.
    And she is not a ‘ narcissist ‘ so that is always a good thing.Tina +1, $P =0

Tina is also such a nice person that she might even show up for a little while to play Mom for the Palin Kids. $arah’s been gone so long….do the kids remember what she looks like..?

I smiled when I read this article and the comments (except for #9 Seattlefan’s post on racism. Racism is unfortunately alive.) posted. Tina definitely deserves the award. Looking forward to the awards and Failings reaction. ;)

Tina created a truthful image of Palin that had been rolling around in my head but unexpressed. Thanks, Tina. You absolutely nailed the impersonation of one of the most vacant, ill informed, and uneducated idiots to ever grace the national scene. Next to GWB of course!

O.K., if we don’t hear some snark from SP about this, then we know she must be bound and gagged in an undisclosed location…..or she is heavily medicated.

Hmmmm….I know which one I pick.

    Tina definitely deserved that award!

Now, SNL needs to get one of their guys to do a BECK parody – that would be priceless as well – plenty of material to work with.

Can’t wait until Stewart and Colbert get back to work this week.

Awesome Job Tina!! You hit the ball out of the park on your impersonation of SP – Thank YOU!!!

GreatGranny2B – I am also eagerly awaiting the return of the DAily Show, can’t believe he missed all this. Definitely hope the SNL folks do Beck impersonations. SNL is more interesting when they stay political, IMHO.

Good job, Tina. Can’t believe Tina playing Palin was able to beat out Palin impersonating a politician for the award!

Tina, run in 2012! Better yet, run in 2010 and I betcha Sarah’s loyal followers will not know the difference!
