I just got an email offer from NEWSMAX offering the Palin book for either FREE or $8.95 depending on which subscription offer you want. Get um while they are HOT! Comedy!
BuffaloGal @44 – Excellent read and very touching. I have any number of relatives (both male and female) who are gay, and I remember a couple of aunts from some 50 years ago who were lesbians. Most of our family was very accepting, actually we rarely thought anything one way or another. They were just family and we all loved one another – warts and all. I think my grandfather was the catalyst who drummed tolerance into us from an early age. He, his parents, and his wife and her family were all French-Canadian immigrants and were subjected to their own attacks of prejudice against them.
Someday (hopefully in the not too distant future) everyone will have equal rights and not be looked down upon for their choices…….and another generation or two will read a bit of history about this issue and wonder why it ever was an issue.
Since this is an open thread, http://www.change.org/changemakers?page=1 is the link where you can nominate and vote on people who are trying their best to (re)make a world fit for all of us, and those who follow us, to live in.
This is him hitting it head on in the CNN Situation Room. Give the guy credit for standing up for what he was elected to do, and taking no prisoners (or insurance BS).
@47 BooBooBear, I agree that this is why the Sarah Failin, “An American Lie” book has hit #1 in pre-sales: every right wing org in the country bought thousands for fund raising and to push their agendas. Give ‘em credit for sticking together. Those that think progressively & more independently rarely behave in such lock-step, but it is what we are up against.
Crikey – I don’t know how I could’ve forgotten dear Oscar Wilde amongst all the irish geniuses. As a way of making it better, I’ll throw him in along with Liam Neeson. I’m sure Oscar would be pleased…
Here is a ‘ nice ‘ little story written about Alaska’s Capital Juneau.
It sort of describes and puts everything into perspective. He ends his little story with this quote…
“And with Palin gone to the rubber-chicken and book-flogging circuits, it’s even bluer. But once again, Juneau is a media backwater.”

Here’s a good article about how kids as young as 11 are finally seeing some support for GLBT in their schools and communities:

Open thread? Good.
Read this blog, if you haven’t already. I haven’t eaten 4-legged animals in nearly 3 years. Went cold Turkey. I rarely eat chicken or turkey.
