The Mudflats

Tiptoeing Through the Muck of Alaskan Politics

Mudflats Radio Today on KUDO!

I’ve been asked to be the guest co-host today on Studio 1080 with Kathy Phillips!  Christy Harvey is working her magic at the Center for American Progres in Washington D.C. this week, so I’ll be trying to fill her very big shoes.

There is no podcast, so you’ll have to tune in live today at KUDO 1080am from 3-4pm.

Live Stream it HERE.

Use the comments to live blog it!  Wish me luck!

AKM… between your Radio gig with Shannyn’s show as well as the Brad Blog interview you did ,you have nothing to worry about.
It’s no different than writing any post on your blog. You are a natural.

I hope you have the opportunity to turn the topic to the other story post you have up. Mention those Palin emails as much as you can…. maybe 5 or 6 times. For the people who don’t understand it on the radio tell the listeners ( Eddie Burke listeners ) to go to your blog and read it as well. All laid out in black and white for them. A little self-promotion… nothing wrong with that either.

If the topic goes to the Health care issue… Rep. Weiner weighs in again in a Huffpo story. Shows how a biased report ‘ PAID FOR ‘ by the health care industry pretty much makes the point as to why Public Option is necessary. Oops… sort of mis-calculated. I guess you were not supposed to ‘ think ‘ about what the report actually says. Just trust them.

If the format allows, it would be nice to see the information requests from the Palin e-mails come up and be discussed. Someone on this blog recently questioned why someone hasn’t filed a lawsuit against the state for not following the law and producing the e-mails within the states’ legal time frame of 10 days. As you reported today, they are not set up to be able to comply with their own laws, so the state needs to be held accountable. Right now, they are not behaving as if they are accountable.
    Good Luck today, AKM!

jd, intellectual inconsitency of that blows my mind
kp: 60 years been pushing for health bill, if passed now will not effect for 3 years
jd: statistic alan greyson, 120000 or more will die before then from lack of insurance
    kp discussing fat baby case
jd, baby not sittig with a bag of chips and a beer, cant put baby on treadmill!
kp: Offshore drilling, fed scientists say need to limit, not close entirely
jd, reprieve from bush admin, more environmental responsibility, cost of oil spill not worth the price. SCIENCE, I REMEMBER THAT

    AKM..heheheheheh
    now talking about $P’s emails

comparing $P email requests to federal requests.
Now talking about AK having no software to handle it

    it’s an ANOMOLY!

  21. 21
    EmpishNo Gravatar says:

k: chitchat/ kcsunshine band, cristy away in dc, speaking w akm, email thread being discussed.
J:: Palin had sent emails b/f, requests made beginning of campaign by citizens.
that was 14 mo ago, still not done, extentions and we cant be expected to just do this. Daily News, Diva following up on this. Jones dept of law says going really slow, akm says its not a lot, poking around asking whats up with that.

boils down to they do not havve the software and doing it manually. My ques
is Before Palin, nothing of this scale, anomaly we have to do this rerquest, why not farm this out to law firms that do this. instead of having state employees search for hot words

  22. 22
    justafarmerNo Gravatar says:

“if there isn’t software available in AK, why not farm out to a lawfirm that CAN do it?”

  23. 23
Lori in Los AngelesNo Gravatar says:

guess Alaska cannot afford the software to provide the e-mails/record requests. AKM asking why they don’t farm it out to law firms who HAVE the software. (as per her latest post)
Since it would still be confidential, speculating that they are stalling on purpose.

  24. 24
    justafarmerNo Gravatar says:

“are they afraid of what might be in those emails?”

    DUH! Ya think?!?!?! lol
