I have no doubt the senior editor on this project had explicit orders (perhaps even from Murdoch himself!) to ensure SP sounds more intelligent in print than she does when she speaks. I suspect Ms. Vincent did a lot to make said senior editor’s job easier. And I suspect Ms. Vincent is more responsible for this getting done and getting done early than SP actually is.
So I fear we may not be treated to as many chortles and guffaws out of this book.
Which is a shame, because what’s the point of anything Sarah Palin, if you can’t get a laugh out of it?
I loved it when she picks up the little flag and starts wavin’ it. This gal is GOOD! I do agree that she should take on Michele Bachmann next – she could probably do a entire series on “Deep Thoughts by Shelly”.

A new poll from Gallup reveals that Sarah Palin’s approval rating has plummeted to an all-time low.
According to the survey, the former vice presidential candidate maintains a 40% favorability rating, the lowest it has been since she emerged as a national political figure at last year’s Republican convention. Over the course of Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign Palin’s “image suffered,” declining from a 53% rating when she debuted as the senator’s running mate to a 42% rating by the end of the campaign.
Her ratings are going down like the price of her book…………now $10…..$9 going, going ………..gone?.

Not to dwell on it but how about the balloon boy’s dad? Everything seemed weird yesterday. I watched Larry King last night & when they asked the little boy why he didn’t come out from hiding when called he replied “it was for the show.” I had suspicions earlier, that confirmed that it was a hoax in my mind. Now the family was all over the morning shows and it got weirder, throwing up, nervous ticks etc. They now have a video of when the balloon broke loose & the dad runs around kicking stuff and acting like a toddler having a melt down. I believe the father to be a media hound and also controlling to the point of perhaps being abusive to his family. I guess the only thing we can be thankful for is that the dad wasn’t so much of a media wh*re that he actually put the child in the balloon. People that use their children to get attention really make me sick!

We have heard AKM tell ‘ stories ‘ on the radio as well. In a more Nursery rhyme or Fairy Tale genre. ( like her written stories….. sort of a through the looking glass- Alice in Wonderland ) AKM should really consider doing some audio readings of the book or the best excerpts. I had a whole huge long post on another but related topic re: Bristol and Levi, and my fantasy that someday (sooner rather than later) they will find each other again, and run off together in the night, first to Seattle, and then to Canada, where Levi will be an extra/stunt man in all those American movies and TV shows that are filmed up there. Bristol will be the Continuity Girl, and Tripp will be a baby extra.
… and then this question hit me, hit me again: Where did the PFDs go to in the Palin family this year?
Previously, SP had, on her and Todd’s IRS forms, reported as income the PFD for all their kids – as Bristol was under 18 and living at home, this is nothing unusual.
But now she’s over 18 and has her own child, so my question is, who got Tripp’s PFD? He was born just before 2008 ran out, and my understanding is that if you were born in the calendar year, you get the PFD (which would go to your parents). Correct me if I am misinformed, which I may well be.
Parents – plural – and certainly not grandparents if viable parents are right there taking care of said PFD recipient.
So the question I have is, who should (or indeed did) get Tripp’s PFD? Is it split between Bristol and Levi? How does that work?
More questions for tax-savvy people: generally speaking, if you claim someone as a dependent on your tax return, you have to declare their income on it as well, yes? (that would absolutely include AK PFD)
But dependents I believe cannot claim any credits or tax deductions. So at what point are Todd and Sarah Palin making Bristol’s financial life more difficult by not ‘emancipating’ her (not claiming her as a dependent on their tax forms for tax deduction reasons). She needs to be filing her own tax returns, not be a dependent.
If you love your children, do you not want to see them become independent, to take wing and fly, to become perhaps even more than you ever thought they could be?
Or do you just want to keep them around as a tax deduction?
The whole $9 deal is actually a price war between WalMart and Amazon – they’re charging that low price plus free shipping on the 10 most popular hardcover books this season, $P’s book is just one of the 10, the latest John Grisham is also one of the books. This is not a sign of a book tanking at all, but of two large retailers going at each other in a shaky retail environment. I think they’re hoping that these loss leaders will attract customers who will then buy other merchandise at lower discounts.

It has. Harper Collins must have seen this coming.

I have no doubt the senior editor on this project had explicit orders (perhaps even from Murdoch himself!) to ensure SP sounds more intelligent in print than she does when she speaks. I suspect Ms. Vincent did a lot to make said senior editor’s job easier. And I suspect Ms. Vincent is more responsible for this getting done and getting done early than SP actually is.
So I fear we may not be treated to as many chortles and guffaws out of this book.
Which is a shame, because what’s the point of anything Sarah Palin, if you can’t get a laugh out of it?

Not to dwell on it but how about the balloon boy’s dad? Everything seemed weird yesterday. I watched Larry King last night & when they asked the little boy why he didn’t come out from hiding when called he replied “it was for the show.” I had suspicions earlier, that confirmed that it was a hoax in my mind. Now the family was all over the morning shows and it got weirder, throwing up, nervous ticks etc. They now have a video of when the balloon broke loose & the dad runs around kicking stuff and acting like a toddler having a melt down. I believe the father to be a media hound and also controlling to the point of perhaps being abusive to his family. I guess the only thing we can be thankful for is that the dad wasn’t so much of a media wh*re that he actually put the child in the balloon. People that use their children to get attention really make me sick!

Letterman has been doing every night his regular ” Things more Fun than reading Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue”.

I had a whole huge long post on another but related topic re: Bristol and Levi, and my fantasy that someday (sooner rather than later) they will find each other again, and run off together in the night, first to Seattle, and then to Canada, where Levi will be an extra/stunt man in all those American movies and TV shows that are filmed up there. Bristol will be the Continuity Girl, and Tripp will be a baby extra.
… and then this question hit me, hit me again: Where did the PFDs go to in the Palin family this year?
Previously, SP had, on her and Todd’s IRS forms, reported as income the PFD for all their kids – as Bristol was under 18 and living at home, this is nothing unusual.
But now she’s over 18 and has her own child, so my question is, who got Tripp’s PFD? He was born just before 2008 ran out, and my understanding is that if you were born in the calendar year, you get the PFD (which would go to your parents). Correct me if I am misinformed, which I may well be.
Parents – plural – and certainly not grandparents if viable parents are right there taking care of said PFD recipient.
So the question I have is, who should (or indeed did) get Tripp’s PFD? Is it split between Bristol and Levi? How does that work?
More questions for tax-savvy people: generally speaking, if you claim someone as a dependent on your tax return, you have to declare their income on it as well, yes? (that would absolutely include AK PFD)
But dependents I believe cannot claim any credits or tax deductions. So at what point are Todd and Sarah Palin making Bristol’s financial life more difficult by not ‘emancipating’ her (not claiming her as a dependent on their tax forms for tax deduction reasons). She needs to be filing her own tax returns, not be a dependent.
If you love your children, do you not want to see them become independent, to take wing and fly, to become perhaps even more than you ever thought they could be?
Or do you just want to keep them around as a tax deduction?
The whole $9 deal is actually a price war between WalMart and Amazon – they’re charging that low price plus free shipping on the 10 most popular hardcover books this season, $P’s book is just one of the 10, the latest John Grisham is also one of the books. This is not a sign of a book tanking at all, but of two large retailers going at each other in a shaky retail environment. I think they’re hoping that these loss leaders will attract customers who will then buy other merchandise at lower discounts.

Last week, before the Amazon-Walmart price war, Going Rouge was being offered as a subscription perk by Newsmax magazine- $8.99 to new subscribers, free for renewals or vice versa- and I saw a trend that the value of Palin’s book would soon go negative. It has. Harper Collins must have seen this coming.
This week Newsmax is offering Rogue free to both old and new subscribers, and because that’s not enough is throwing in a special magazine issue on Palin.
The previous freebie was a hand cranked Dynamo Emergency World Band Radio. A much better perk! A previous special issue star was Glen Beck.

The videos itself are pretty poor and won’t win her an Oscar, but it’s noteworthy that there were produced by Seth Adams Smith, who is one of the contributors at C4P and has made several videos for them.
Another indication who incredibly close the C4Peers actually are to the Palin camp.
