18 10 2009Here’s the iGOP in all its horrible glory.
Where’s the Don Young app? You know… when you want to bite someone like a mink, or do bad things to a spotted owl, or have a good ol’ machine gun fundraiser, or talk to a bunch of high school students about…er….alternate methods of copulation!? Ah, well. Maybe next time.

GAH, she’ll be here Dec. 2 @ a Center for Character Education? you have got to be kidding me.
http://www.ky3.com/news/local/64811362.html
“POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. — Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin will speak on patriotism, citizenship and civic engagement at College of the Ozarks on Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Keeter Gymnasium. The prelude to the Leonard B. and Edith Gittinger Community Convocation featuring Palin will begin at 6:30 p.m.”
[....]
“Sarah Palin is a great example of an individual who became involved in her small town community and whose efforts and success eventually placed her in the national spotlight,” said Sue Head, executive director of The Keeter Center for Character Education. “We are looking forward to hosting her at the College.”
[....]
“Under her leadership as governor, Alaska invested $5 billion in state savings, overhauled education funding and protected Alaska’s natural resources. She created Alaska’s Petroleum Systems Integrity Office to provide oversight and maintenance of oil and gas equipment, facilities and infrastructure and the Climate Change Subcabinet to prepare a climate change strategy for Alaska.”

I see several posts about SP’s upcoming “speaking” engagements – here is another:
We need boots on the ground in Wisconsin – anybody?
Palin to speak in Milwaukee area next month
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will speak in a Milwaukee suburb next month as part of a program presented by Wisconsin Right to Life.
Officials say no tickets will be sold at the door of the Nov. 6 event at Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park in West Allis, Wis.

I wonder if these are the venues that she’ll be doing book signings at, with books offered for sell to the loyal who come to hear and see her.
I guess it would be one way to assure herself of a favorable crowd.
One would think that Harpers would be willing to provide books for events such as these where they could be guaranteed people would be interested in purchasing them.
Sort of like buying memorabilia at sporting events or a cd at a concert.

Pearl@46/ Unfortunately, Sen. Kyl, masquerade’s as Arizona’s senator, not SC. I wouldn’t wish him on any state, any more then I would wish McCain on another state.

Just Say No @51 – I called the other day to the college and according to them, her speech is a “go”. I just might know someone who has a few tickets. (wink)
It’s been “one of those” days ever since 10 am. Began with the flinging a pan full of boiling pasta (oven mitt had a hole in it ) and covering the kitchen from one end to the other. Morning progressed to a squirrel in the house. (and not in the attic. nope… in the kitchen. I had to assume it was an Italian squirrel and was there for the noodles) Moved on to discovering I have a woodpecker that doesn’t care for the shape of my porch and has been diligently doing renovations. It has pecked the bejeebers out it and was bold enough to actually squawk and square off with me when I tried to shoo him this afternoon. The day THEN moved on to TWO squirrels in the house and sending evil kitty into spitting fits. Squirrels and cat were chasing madly through the kitchen and eventually out the back door. Then the order from the market arrived and was missing all the ingredients I needed for dinner. And, lastly … I lost Glenn Beck as a follower on my Stand4OurNation twitter account. He must have FINALLY realized that my linked website is ANTI Palin. ha!
And, on that Beck note – Jim lehrer had a table discussion about Fox, Beck and the White House tonight. Good! Worth catching just for the sake of it.

I just now saw this little link that Patrick posted at Palingates on a thread.

Scarah’s going to be a role model in good citizenship, character and success? like how to quit? keep things secret from the public she promised transparency? how to con good people out of money? how to BS a good story? how to wink and be sexy to get your way around the work world?
She’ll be speaking at a liberal arts Christian college.
Internationally renowned speaker, ha ha ha, leadership? ha ha ha ha, they are giving her WAY to much credit and honor. I wonder who the heck put this in motion. Perhaps Franklin Graham? hmmm?
http://www.keetercenter.edu/community.asp?page=5
“This series hosts internationally-renowned speakers, recognized for their character and leadership, who provide a keynote address reinforcing institutional values. These speakers assist the College with honoring others who through their own good citizenship, character, and success serve as role models.
In 1999, Dr. and Mrs. Leonard B. Gittinger endowed the Community Convocation Services, which enabled speakers such as Franklin Graham, Colin Powell, James Baker, Benjamin Netanyahu, Mike Krzyzewski, and Tom Brokaw to share their life experiences with the College of the Ozarks family and friends. Many of the speakers are from humble beginnings and inspire College of the Ozarks students to pursue high goals. The generosity of the Gittingers has enabled thousands of students to attend these special events over the years.”

Is College of the Ozarks a fundamentalist college? Interesting that a college would promote a quitter. Maybe they need a little bad PR for promoting the anti-education Palin….just saying.

Just Say No – I just happened to be on one of the Palinista sites when an excited breathless comment came on announcing that she’d be speaking. They included the phone numbers for tickets. How could I resist??
Maybe I could take a bag full of squirrels to the speech. It works on so many levels, doesn’t it ?
October 19th, 2009 at 3:27 PM
Pacos, I called to find out if it would be a book signing type thing. All ya get is a recording asking for your information to get tickets, but it was after 5 pm. Who knows. If I remember I’ll call tomorrow to see if I get a real live person. Then I may complain and voice my two cents. Kids don’t need her influence. gah
October 19th, 2009 at 3:28 PM
Buffalogal, LOL…..oh yes.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:31 PM
Buffalogal, that ‘breathless groupie’ was most likely Meg, lol.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:39 PM
Trisha, I have no clue what type college it is, I’m fairly new to the state. But they sure love church around here. This college is down by Branson.
I gather their motto is ‘Hard Work U’, omg, lol.
and oh dear, one must be ‘found worthy’ to attend……..
about:
The mission of this unique institution focuses on providing a Christian education to those who are found worthy, but who are without sufficient means to obtain such training.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:48 PM
Apparently it’s a work exchange college with a high state rating.
http://www.cofo.edu/history.asp
I hope Scarah doesn’t try to get one of her kids in because it’s supposed to be based on and for those with ‘financial need’.
October 19th, 2009 at 3:58 PM
oh dear…..this may be about Scarah guiding Christian youth into civic and government duty, separation of church and state anyone?

New Course Offering: American Ideals
of Character and Civic Engagement
Character Education Center director Sue Head and her husband
Hayden, a faculty member at College of the Ozarks, have developed
a new course for the liberal arts curriculum entitled American Ideals
of Character and Civic Engagement scheduled for the fall semester.
This course will examine American ideals of character and the
ways in which those ideals are reflected in the principles and ideals
of College of the Ozarks; students will also examine the structure
of government at the national, state, and local levels and be
introduced to effective models of civic engagement. To this end, students
will have the opportunity to participate in catalyst groups,
established groups of passionate community
members in the Branson area;
these groups develop special programs
that typically focus on the poor and the
disenfranchised. This unique course,
whose enrollment for fall is full, will
reinforce the College’s vision for developing
students of Christ-like character
who are committed to service and
community.

Buffalogal….
It sounds like you have gone a little ‘ squirrelly today…? .. are you Nuts?
{ the story is too funny though…. not when it is happening to you I am sure}
At this rate…You may have to install one of those fake plastic Horned Owls in your kitchen to keep them out . You could add an audio recording as well.
October 19th, 2009 at 4:14 PM
I don’t think SP is speaking for free at the College of the Ozarks. Look at some of the other speakers: Colin Powell, Tom Brokaw, Benjamin Netnyahu. Most colleges and universities have lecture programs they charge for and pay handsomely to attract big names.

How is Sarah going to have time to give speeches with all of those book signings coming up???
I have a suggestion regarding the book signings. There should be a map of the US, and a little red dot at each location where Sarah appears in person to sign books. I guess that the map will be speckled with red dots in red states. Surprise!

70 Say NO to Palin in Politics Says:
Sue Head is quoted…
“Sarah Palin is a great example of an individual who became involved in her small town community”
So Sarah was a “community organizer” and now she wants to brag about it.

Why would anybody go to a book signing for a 29 buck book when they can get the same book for $9 on Amazon, and get it free on other sites?
Oh Sarah. What have you gotten yourself into?

never mind you’re folloiwing =)

This is rather unrelated to anything but I was following up on Buffalogals ‘ Palin Truth Watch ‘ tweets and was looking up something on Google. The name directed me to some old YouTube clips with Meg-a-Mouth Stapletongue.
Normally we only know Meg from some written Press Release…. Not a live person. These are clips of Meg having a verbal confrontation with Les Gara on the street after the Troopergate hearings. This first clip is about 6 minutes posted by ” AKTruthSquad”. Although there is nothing startlingly new in the clip…. this was at a time before I started following the storyline and the characters involved. I had never seen this. She deflects questions or changes the subject and is quite strong in Her defense of Sarah. ( this is clip 1 of 2 )
Knowing what we know now… and all the characters backgrounds … I found it interesting though. Meg… like maybe you have never seen her before.

Nothing against the College of the Ozarks (don’t know a thing about it – I’m sure it’s a wonderful institution of higher learning) but I betcha she took a pay cut. Somehow I don’t think they’re paying the ‘Asia’ rate.
October 19th, 2009 at 5:38 PM
Geez, Louise…who writes all of that BS about her? Maybe we need to send that college some of the Mudflats posts and enlighten them. They don’t seem to have clue!
October 19th, 2009 at 6:09 PM
KareninTexas: I definitely agree with you. They should know the truth about this fraud of a speaker!
October 19th, 2009 at 8:06 PM
Upper West Sider……..how handsomely do they pay? I have no clue, please enlighten me.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:33 PM
HonestyinGov, I hadn’t seen that whole thing either. Watch Megs hands, rather informative. Especially what she does with her hands when she says “there were some ‘hatched’ conspiracy theories” @ 2:26, she does a weird hand swirling motion, reminds me of a wizardly dark lord type motion. She also likes to hold up a flat hand to deflect what Gara is saying, almost like a cross up against evil. I do not believe it when she says they simply had a difference of policy, what that translates into is Walt didn’t kiss Scarah’s butt and bow down to her, so therefore she had every right to fire his a*s and dump him, for no real good reason, except he didn’t kiss her rear.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
Hmm…??
Is Sarah going to ‘ give an opinion ‘ or come to the defense of her
Friend Carrie Pre-Judge..?
Huffpo is reporting that the Officials from the Miss CA Pageant are asking for
some sort of a refund or compensation for those ‘ services’ that were provided to Carrie ‘ up-Front’.
