Palin Endorses Candidate in the Name of C.R.A.P.

Palin.ghoul

A while back on Mudflats, when rumors were swirling that Sarah Palin might end up with her own political party, we all decided to come up with a name for it.  Because somehow, we knew even then that the “business as usual” Republican Party was too small and predictable to hold the roguish mavericky likes of Sarah Palin.  Well, we came up with some pretty good names, but the winner was CRAP.  That’s right, the Conservative Republican American Party (CRAP).

And now, just to prove how right we were, the ex-almost-one-term governor has made her first CRAP endorsement.  Who’s the lucky winner?

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it’s important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York’s 23rd Congressional district. It’s my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law. Our nation is at a crossroads, and this is once again a “time for choosing.”

Yes, in a district that went for Obama with 52%, it’s the time to choose between a moderate Republican and a super right wing conservative. That’s right America, start throwing money at this guy and prove that the direction the Republican Party needs to move is farther to the right!

Best of all, she says, Hoffman has not “been anointed by any political machine.” Apparently the only anointing he needs is by Sarah herself. This endorsement has netted Mr. Hoffman more than $100,000 in 24 hours. The link provided in Palin’s piece to Hoffman’s website conveniently takes you to the donation page, because presumably we don’t have to do any research on the guy – just give him the money. Somebody now owes Sarah Palin a favor, and she has proven her ability to speak and create cash flow – a useful political skill that doesn’t require hard work, long-term commitment or thinking.

And just in time for Halloween, Palin once again manages to dig up the bones of Ronald Reagan in an effort to hitch her star to the great Republican icon whose tax policies began the rapid downward spiral that’s gotten us into the mess we are currently in. She tells us how he warned about “blurring the lines” between political parties to support this hard right choice in a far from hard right district.

But all that aside, the delicious fallout of this CRAP endorsement, is that it’s created some fantastic infighting among Republicans. Newt Gingrich endorses the moderate Republican, and Palin shoots a torpedo across his bow with the help of Teabag King Dick Armey. (insert your own joke here) You can picture Dick Armey and Newt Gingrich duking it out like in one of those old Batman cartoons. BAM! POW! OOF! and my personal favorite THWACK!

It’s never too early to start fantasizing about Palin making a third-party run for the presidency. So, find a quiet place, lean back, close your eyes and picture it now. You’re in the voting booth, you pull the curtain and look at your ballot. Barack Obama (D), Mitt Romney (R) and Sarah Palin (CRAP).

And the karmic consequences of John McCain’s reckless decision back in August of 2008 come to fruition…. the complete and utter destruction of the Republican Party.

[h/t to Ink & Snow for the great graphic!]

    tigerwine,

Google PAC or Political Action Committee. PACs are a means to get around Federal elections laws. You donate to SarahPAC. She donates $ 5K to any Republican campaigning. When she runs they can all donate $ 5K into her campaign. So if she gives to each of the republican Senators and House Reps, that becomes about $5K X 300= $ 1.5 million. She can also give to people running on the State level, $ 15K per year to her party, and to other PACs.

So if she did very well and ran for President, Congress or the Senate, she might get $ 5 to $ 10 million returned back into her campaign. Which is just a return of money she donated out of her PAC over a few years.

    It’s like a shell game.

Also since it is a Party, her donating to others builds up their support of her. If she helps them get elected, they should be loyal and help her.

Palin can also use PAC money to cover administration costs. So that can pay for her to go to luxury resorts (to raise more money), eat at expensive restaurants. Attend “political meetings” in the Caribbean during winter. Pay for staff (including family and ghost workers). Pay for her new office at home, electric, phones, etc.

One of my local politicians had 9 full time ghost staff employees. Pretending to pay them a salary, yet the money ended up in his private bank account which help pay for his mansion on 200 acres.

It is unimaginable to me that even one person gives a damn which candidate Palin endorses.

AKM and Wolf Pack – Thanks for this info on PACs! I wonder if all her followers realize that their money can go for these things (especially other candidates)! Wolf Pack said:

If by Party, you mean the Repubs, how do they feel when she donates to a third party candidate? Oh, the webs this woman weaves!

Seriously, I don’t think her followers care if she uses their money for her Botox injections or to build a new wing on her house. Odd, but they don’t seem to mind giving their hard earned money to a millionaire….to use as she wishes.

Oh well. No one ever said her followers were the brightest bulbs in the box-
(hint: they think SHE is smart).

Its true, I had a black pair for ice fishing, and your feet never ever gets cold, they stay toasty no matter what. If you got lost wearing them and you froze to death, the rest of your body would be frozen solid, but when they take your boots off, your feet aren’t. I didn’t know they don’t make them any more. we called them Mickey Mouse boots.

Thanks for the laughs, and for the months of enjoying Alaska news. I’m not easy in mind about this development from Sarah and the C.R.A.P.ers, though. They don’t have to use that money to campaign for votes. They can do what Karl Rove taught them, just use the money to buy a computer wizard who can program the voting computers to give them a “victory”. Yes, Sarah and all the rest of them are crooked enough to do that. grammy

Well, as she marches her bible thumpin followers off to take over the world for Jeebus, they will be proudly holding the banner of Holy Crap !

Re: pac money – I agree w/ Trisha @57 – her loyal crazies just don’t seem to care that they’re feeding a monster. I’ve seen postings where folks talk about not being able to make their monthly contribution on time because they have to pay utility bills and they sound guilt ridden about it. It’s freaky! I think some of them LIKE the idea that their hard earned dollars are helping to build her Crap Castle. I have this image in my head of $P pulling up to the Taco Bell drive-thru window and paying for her crunch wraps by digging in to a BIG ol’ burlap bag full of dollars that she’s got stashed in the back seat. I can hear her laughing maniacally and sayin, “Thanks Suckers!!! MUhahahahahaha! ”

I no like me da Palin lady.

Exactly, tigerwine@56! As not smart as I think she is, I can’t even imagine SP not realizing fully well what she is doing by not just endorsing Hoffman but giving him a pretty chunk of the PAC change. It absolutely will alienate her from other Republicans who had not already completely dismissed her.

Speaking of PAC money, I wonder how much is left? Hope she’s got a good account manager, or alternately, I hope she’s got a really corrupt account manager who syphons off the funds for himself leaving Her Highness High and Dry and only able to stay at Motel 6 on her own dime at that Right to Life speech she’s makin’ next month, or whenever it is.

    PepperzMom (GA) Says:

The one nice thing about SP and a possible third party run in 2012, that party would need to qualify to be on every state ballot. There’s no auto-qualifying – each state has qualifying standards for party connected candidates.

Considering that the Liberatarian Party (Bob Barr) was unable to qualify in all 50 states and has been around a long time, that says something about any new 3rd party, even one with the pinch my nose moniker of CRAP, being able to get on all 50 ballots.

If your party ain’t on all 50 state ballots, there’s no way to win, and for SP, wherever, if any that is, she may get on as a 3rd party candidate will likely kill the Rethug candidate.
