Teabags’ Revenge – Beyond Satire.
5 11 2009This is not a joke….I repeat, this is not a joke. Not satire. No Steven Colbert popping in at the end. No Onion. No Andy Borowitz. And yet, I couldn’t watch it without laughing. All it needs at the end is the Capitol Building blowing up in a giant red fireball, and Bachmann, Palin and a Teabag guy with giant sunglasses and black boots walking shoulder to shoulder out of the flames.
My favorite part is when the guy with the three-cornered hat says in his painfully bad colonial accent “We’ll give them some stimulus!” Yeah, we got your stimulus right here, Buddy.
And “When you have government control over everything, you have tie-rannic behavior.” Yeah. Corporate control over everything is the way to go. No tie-rannic behavior there. Who needs all that oversight and regulation? It just gets in the way of global corporatism… the real freedom.
And they even manage to slip in one of those Obama as the Joker faces in the background.
Their website says: “The Tea Party movement of 2009 shocked the political establishment, the nation at large and left a big media machine dizzy in its wake. How did it happen? Where did it come from?” I hate to spoil the surprise, but the answer would be the national group Freedomworks, and a certain Dick Armey. Grass roots? Not so much.
Anyway, it’s coming to a dvd near you this Thanksgiving. (clearing my throat and trying to sound all baritone and ominous, like the guy on the trailer) Turkey Day…. it’s not just for Sarah Palin anymore.
Meanwhile, back on Capitol Hill, Cogresswoman Michele Bachmann urged supporters to confront members of congress with video cameras, in order to scare them into voting to kill the health care reform bill. “I think that will absolutely scare these members of Congress so much that Pelosi will not get the votes and it will kill the bill.” So, let me get this straight. This is a sitting member of congress, urging citizens to use methods of intimidation to “scare” other members of congress into changing their votes to suit her own ideological agenda for political gain.
But the pre-protest phone and fax bomb that was scheduled for yesterday fizzled, and yet Bachmann managed to get herself in front of the Fox News cameras who were more than happy to give her a platform for her wingnuttery.
That Michele Bachman…she’s sort of like Sarah Palin, only with an actual job.

From Mother Jones

“…one thing about the rally proved sparklingly clear: Michele Bachmann is a major star. When she stepped up to the podium on the Capitol steps, the crowd went wild. It wasn’t too hard to imagine the event as a warm up for the 2012 presidential election, where Bachmann might prove a far more viable candidate than Sarah Palin. The rally confirmed her primacy as a leading voice of the Republican Party—a party that, with this protest, has fully embraced the conservative movement’s most extreme elements.”
It is depressing that this could be what the Repulican Party has come to. We do need a reasoned, and resonable opposition. This is my reasoned and reasonable response.
My snarky response is that I sure wish SP would read this, because it would make her head explode.

Ooooo, that is delicious. And yes, if SP reads that it could well make her head explode.
Q: How many divas does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Two, one to stand on the chair and change it, and the other to shout “That should be ME up there!”
Betcha that’s exactly what our prima donna SP is sayin’. I would love it if she started to turn on Bachmann, that would be good fun.
Or maybe Michelle will ask SP to be HER running mate in 2012! That would be ultimate popcorn time!

Michele Bachman is challenging Miss Wasilla for the title of Queen Teabagger and she is winning!!

Hey justafarmer – good to see you again! Picking up what Baker’s Dozen pointed out … just a wee bit of understanding history here … the British were in charge of the colonies because at that tea dumping time the revolutionary war hadn’t started yet … and the soldiers representing the Bristish would have been wearing the redcoats and have much better accents … the people that did the tea dumping lived in Boston, dressed up as Indians, boarded a ship and threw the King’s tea overboard. So if you are dressed up like a British soldier and talk about tea then you must be in agreement with the King (otherwise known as the establishment) unless you are a traitor because you are still wearing the uniform and being identified with the British govt. So flash forward to today, maybe the tea people are agreeing with the establishment (which would be today’s US govt) or they are trailors because they want to overthrow today’s govt, or maybe they want to go back under British rule. Any way you look at it, these people can’t even get the historical aspect right and for pete’s sake can’t you come up with a newer idea? A new idea like remember that spoof movie – Attack from Mars – lots of big names in it and the marsians came down to DC and took over the White House and Capital. If I remember correctly the only way to kill them off was to have them listen to country music and their green heads would explode … hummm, that might be an idea.

The major star in our family is the Alaska Native Medical Center, staffed by the Indian Health Service. I am not eligible for ANMC care, but my wife and children and grandchildren are eligible. Their Family Medicine Center is the greatest. The Alaska Native Medical Center is government-run health care, and it is wonderful. Our family supports HB 3962. Two weeks after Obama signs Universal Health Care into law, it will be just as if it had always been the norm, the loonies can go back to protesting flouride in the water, and life will return to normal.

People on Medicare should just STFU.
I was going to add to that but there is nothing else to say!

One imagines the home, any home..of the wingnutter fringe..with their teen agers..making a choice to ’stand up to their parents’..who feed/cloth/shelter them..and do the exact, selfsame thing..the MB random human tissue bits are fomenting, in the halls of Washington. Take over the parents offices and bedrooms for rowdy conversation and blustering lectures on ‘taking back their teenage choices-freedoms’. Teens yanking papers from the family bill-paying desks and tearing them..in front of rolling cameras. Yuppers..would how many consrvarive teens, in ..Some Houses’..will suddenly realize the ..um..er..people-power They have? Jus sayin..
(And kids..should any of ya..decide to engage in this activity..be darn sure you have a Safehouse..already lined up..because there is a term from That 70’s show..that..springs to mind…

I find it very interesting that rep.bachman will only take comments from people in her district.
Would not her actions, if done by a Democrat during the bush administration, be considered treason?
Could you imagine cheney putting up with people threatening congress?
Also, you can’t contact michelle bachmann by email.
How’s that for listening to what “We the people” Really want!!!!
Contact Nancy Pelosi and tell her that ALL representatives, especially those who say they represent the people, should be able to be contacted, BY THE PEOPLE FOR FREE!!!!!!!

“People on Medicare should just STFU.

Lilybart,
I am on Medicare and have been for 10 years due to a disability. I am only 55 years old.
I resent being told to “STFU”. I am for a comprehensive Health Care bill. 2 of my children have no health care through their employer.
I vote and even volunteered for Bill Owens in NY23rd.
Please be careful not to generalize, republicans are doing that to their own demise.

After the events of yesterday, the teabaggers and fort hood incident, I tend to agree with honestyinGov. #42. As ridiculous as the teabaggers are there is also an element of danger there. And yes, no congressman/woman should be affiliated with this “hatefest” type atmosphere, the signs these wackos are bandying about are full of hate and disrespect towards the president. I posted on the oprah blog again, as the comments are barely dribbling in at this point. Basically I asked her to view the signs at huffpo and then try to justify giving winky a platform on her show when she has to be aware of the fact that palin is a spokesman for this hatemongering group. I went on to say that since she is giving winky a platform oprah has an obligation to call her out on her lies and constant whipping up of these
unhinged factions. I hope others will post over there again.

Dr. Fred? Is he the surgeon who removed Glen Beck’s appendix yesterday?
November 6th, 2009 at 8:15 AM
No minorities there as usual.
When the republican leader of the house can stand up, join with, lead and promote these people and Bachmann can get away with telling citizens to “scare” her fellow congressmen:
The hoods are off…………..this was just a Klan gathering….it would not surprise me in the least to see Bohner and Bachmann , with Beck and Limbaugh in tow…burning crosses on the Whitehouse lawn.

Is The Tea Party Gang Turning GOP Into A Party of Hate?
When John Boehner, the Republican leader of the House, appeared at the Tea Party rally at the Capitol on Thursday afternoon, it was a dramatic signal:
The wing-nuts have taken over the GOP.
Think I’m being harsh? The angry folks at signs with messages of hate: “Get the Red Out of the White House,” “Waterboard Congress,” “Ken-ya Trust Obama?”
One called the president a “Traitor to the U.S. Constitution.”
Another sign showed pictures of dead bodies at the Dachau concentration camp and compared health care reform to the Holocaust.
A different placard depicted Obama as Sambo.
Yes, Sambo.
Another read, “Obama takes his orders from the Rothchilds” — a reference to the anti-Semitic conspiracy theory holding that one evil Jewish family has manipulated events around the globe for decades.

gasman………I totally agree with you. This was way out of line for a member of congress!
I like how they begin the video, lol………”It began as a ripple, an online whisper” ……. well now it’s gone to full blown crazy, what’s next? what will satisfy these people? they want their country back? who the hell is responsible for telling them it was stolen or went missing? Bachman, Palin, Limpbag, Beck, Coulter, the ‘other’ McCain, hell pretty much the whole republican party and behind the scenes Rupert Murdoch……..they all need to be held accountable for their whacked out preaching.
Thank goodness Owens won.

Just when you think that you have seen/heard it all…..MORE rightwing nuttery:
Igor Panarin’s Doomsday Tea Party
One ex-KGB analyst has been warning for years that the US will collapse in 2010. Conservative activists think he may be on to something.
Thu November 5, 2009 3:03 AM PST
For more than a decade Dr. Igor Panarin, a Russian academic, has been predicting that sometime around 2010 the United States will collapse, splintering into separate states, some of them controlled by foreign powers. Outside of Russia, no one’s put much stock in his crackpot and stereotype-based theories—until now, that is. Who are the newest members of the Igor Panarin fan club? Tea partiers who’ve rallied against the Obama administration’s policies and blasted the president for pushing a “socialist” agenda. And he’s especially big among tea party activists in Texas, who have hosted Panarin and promoted his work.
In Russia, Panarin, who hosts a weekly radio show, is considered a mainstream expert on the United States. Like Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Panarin used to work for the KGB. He clearly has the support of the Kremlin, for he teaches at* the school that trains Russia’s diplomats. And since the election of Barack Obama last November, Panarin has found a new audience in America among far right activists, many of whom believe Obama is destroying the country.

“But what was most noteworthy was that the entire House Republican leadership was also in attendance—and their rhetoric was just as over-the-top as some of the protesters. House Minority Leader John Boehner declared the health care bill the “greatest threat to freedom I have seen.”
In essence, Congressional Republicans were merging with a movement that gives open expression to racist and anti-Semitic sentiments. ”

would like to know, just how is it THAT:
Michelle Bachmann can get away with telling citizens to “scare” her fellow congressmen?
How does she get away with inciting the public to intimidate congress?
If I went around my neighborhood and told folks to go down and “scare” my local politicians, I KNOW the police would be knocking on my door.

I’m alarmed, but not surprised that the people over at Team Sarah have brought up Joe McCarthy lately in a positive light. Some have even said, and probably rightfully so, that Glenn Beck is a modern day Joe McCarthy and our proud of what he has done. We knew they were right wingnuts, but now we have some that are proud to bring back events from over 50 years ago to remind us of some of our countries darkest days. We can thank Sarah for her stupidity and ignorance for bringing to light other people with her same level of stupidity and ignorance who actually believe that what Joe McCarthy did was a good thing.

If the Teabaggers truly want “freedom,” then I suggest they stop re-electing the same old haggard idiots who do well mouthing sophistic rhubarb but do not do as well at telling the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. i.e., John Boehnerhead.

LOL I would so love to see a Palin-Bachman ticket in 2012! Let the games begin!
