Time for Republicans to Start Eating Their Young.

7 11 2009

It’s time for Republicans to start eating their Young.

Don Young, that is.

It seems that our “Congressman for All Alaska” decided to vote with his feet on Thursday and showed up with bells on to Michele Bachmann’s “Superbowl of Freedom.”  That’s right, we’ve only got one U.S. House Representative and  he shows up at this “Superbowl of Freakdom” where protesters held aloft signs with photos of piles of the naked Holocaust dead, comparing it to the Democratic health care plan.  He also compared the upcoming Health Care Bill as “bobbing for apples in an outhouse,” because “the harder you look, the more waste you find.”  How would he know what happens when you bob for apples in an outhouse, we wonder? Perhaps that’s how he got his infamous moniker “Yon Dung.”  But despite his apparent experience with that activity, I think this time he got it wrong.

Bear in mind that the State of Alaska just voted in Democratic Senator Mark Begich.  The state was considered a toss-up in the presidential election before Palin entered the race.  The state legislature is fairly evenly divided.  We are not as “red” as we may appear.

And yet, our lone congressional representative doesn’t show up for the State of the Union address, but thinks that being present to support Bachmann’s teabag-fest is an appropriate use of his time.  Instead of running as fast as he can from the radical conservative crazies that threaten to render the GOP irrelevant sooner than later, he embraces them.  This man is running now for his 20th term in the House, and yet his radical ideology would make him unelectable in this state if he were starting out today.  And, of course  there are legal bills topping $1 million, and his looming indictment as the not-too-hard-to-identify ”U.S. Representative A” in the oil corruption scandal still plaguing the state.

Did I mention that there’s going to be a fundraiser next week for State Rep. Harry Crawford (D) who is running for that one lone seat in congress?   Circle your calendar for Thursday, November 12 at 5:30 and do it with an extra wide Sharpie.  See the Events tab above for details.  Now is the time and the time is NOW.

Clicking on “fundraiser” sends me to a page where I can contribute immediately. Did I not look closely enough to find fundraiser info? I’m certainly donating. Pragmatically speaking, that’s the only way to win, but I’d love to be there in person.

Is Young embracing the teabaggers or is he just covering his behind (staying on topic) for fear of being Scozzafavaed?

I just know I’d really dislike this guy if I ever met him in person, ugh, how disgusting. Creepy crawly dirty old man.

I would actually pay money to see the republicans in congress bob for apples in

an outhouse….I would even provide the apples….they may as well have it all over

their faces, because after the ” Boehner incident” (that obviously did not register

with any of them)……….they proved that they all have $hit for brains

I wrote to my Repugnant Congressman, Kevin McCarthy and let him know what I thought of his vote. I also let him know how I would be voting the next time he came up for election.

This becoming just toooo much! None of these republicans in congress deserve the privilege of their positions.

Many years ago, when I worked part time in a daycare of mostly 2 and 3 year olds, I never witnessed behaviour as bad as these republicans “adults” have displayed.

“I Object”: Tom Price Tries To Shut Down Democratic Congresswomen (VIDEO)

On Saturday morning, a group of House Republicans — led by Rep. Tom Price (R-Georgia) — attempted to stop the Democratic Women’s Caucus from making their arguments about how the health bill would benefit women by screaming over them.

Rep. Lois Capps (D-Calif.) only had time to say “Mr. Speaker, I ask unanimous consent to–,” before Price shouted “I object.”

The presiding chair, Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.) made gestures to maintain control, declaring that “the request is not yet before the House” and that Price was “out of order,” to little effect.

Capps attempted to go on, but Price continued shouting “I object! I object! I object!”

FINALLY! THE GOP ….PUBLICLY…..ADMIT THEIR OPPOSITION TO HEALTHCARE!!

The truth behind GOP the opposition to health care..from Orin Hatches “horses mouth “!:

Hatch asserted that the health bills, which he believes represent a “step-by-step approach to socialized medicine,” will lead to Americans’ dependence on Democrats for their health and other issues.

“And if they get there, of course, you’re going to have a very rough time having a two-party system in this country, because almost everybody’s going to say, ‘All we ever were, all we ever are, all we ever hope to be depends on the Democratic Party,’ ” Hatch said during an interview with the conservative CNSNews.com.

“That’s their goal,” Hatch added. “That’s what keeps Democrats in power.”

So the reason behind the GOP’s demonization of health care reform is the fear that it will be so successful that the American people will be forever grateful to the Democrats and the Republicans will find themselves completely marginalized.

In other words there opposition is not to protect the American people, it is to protect their own political future. How much more do the people of this country need to know about this party before they turn their back on them forever?

Martha, I wonder how Orrin Hatch felt about Karl Rove’s “permanent Republican majority”? I’m sure that was just fine with him. These Republicans don’t take defeat well at all.

His behavior towards constituents who disagree with him was the one remaining needle…
It has never seemed to mean doodly squat to him that he is supposed to represent ALL Alaskans since we only have one rep.

    THIS torches my shorts!
    What an absolute jerk.

Just one look at that red, ugly and presumably shouting face, pointing an accusatory finger, tells me this is one unpleasant little man, and a typical republican from what we see pretty regularly now. A sad and unhappy bunch who seem to have bad taste when it comes to neckties and intelligent women.

Why is it that so many republican women come across as Dick Cheney in drag?

    Martha Unalaska Yard Sign Says:

If I ruled the universe (and I’m working on that), Michelle Bachmann would mysteriously trip and fall head first into a very full outhouse while she’s lookin’ for those apples she heard about. Yung Dung would come running to her rescue after hearing her muffled screams, and she would pull him in while trying to get out. I could go on and on but I’m grossing myself out with my embellishments so I’ll just leave it at that.

Can you imagine having a better day than witnessing such?

Which country has 47 million people without health insurance?
    USA.

That raging alcoholic, Don Young [note the rosacea], has his state subsidized I’ll bet.

    Rosacea, caused by
    Sun exposure – not likely
    Emotional stress – Positively
    Hot weather – not likely
Wind – none in an air conditioned SUV
Heavy exercise – nope, hasn’t heard of that word
    Alcohol consumption – 52% – Bingo!

What are some causes of alcohol dependancy? See item #2.

In fact, seems he’s lived his entire career in the lap of luxury. He’ll be needing that health insurance for a new liver, possible dialysis from diabetes – pancreatitis and other organs failing from alcohol abuse, not to mention alcoholic dementia, psychosis, confusion and organic brain syndrome.

May they fail at the same time and we won’t see this scum and others of his ilk, bilking the public with his ‘rhetoric’.

    Hmmph.

Maybe it’s time to administer drug tests to all those ‘representing’ the public, to see if they’re fit, you understand, by law.

    Does It Offend You, Yeah?

    Man_from_Unk Says:

I’ve only seen Don Young in person about three times in twenty years. He doesn’t acknowledge anyone first unless they are important to him. I’ve seen people go into extreme browning position just to get his attention. This is not a representative for All Alaskans. Time for a change.

I have to admit that I agree with his comment “the harder you look, the more waste you find.” Who better than he knows that. We have a lot of corruption in Alaska and it’s slowly being cleaned up, bruised apples being thrown into the “outhouse”.

.In the sixties….and early seventies…..could you possibly imagine the Democrats standing on the same stage with extremist ideologues: i.e. Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Bobby Seale et al….and saying that this is what the NATION wants?….Ideologues appeal only to fringes…left or right….The Repubs(already intellectually moribund) are doomed to being the party of scattershot philosophy appealing only to the guy/gal at the end of the bar around closing time…and the more Limbaugh, Malkin et al can dictate to these idiots what policy SHOULD be…the more they fail and shiver with contempt that the “Father Knows Best” and “June Cleaver” fantasy of America is astoninshly out of tune….I challenge all of you: go and research what the rhetoric employed by the right from 1918( The Palmer Raids) through McCarthy in the fifties….you will find the same tired dogma that the right is preaching today…they knock liberalism…yet, ironically, fail to recognize that their very existence owes an enormous debt to the greatest explosion of liberal, progessive and rational ideals brought to us through the “The Age of Enlightenment”…Irony and facts…sheep and slaughter….pathetic bastards
