Sarah Palin’s Book Tour Schedule – Get Your Boots On!

muckboots1

OK, here’s what we have so far for Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue tour!  Any Mudflatters out there who want to be “Boots on the Ground,” you now have your dates.  Rogue photographer wannabe?  Want to plan an outing with friends?  Are you among the lucky few that live in these not-so-big, not-so-blue cities?  Get out your super secret decoder rings, and toothbrush communicators!  Everybody loves a good caper.

I think if I could beam myself to just one event, it would be the Sam’s Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

More dates are coming but this is a good start, although there’s one state I don’t see yet… Hmmmm.

Well, the Meijer’s is basically a grocery store with more stuff, albeit a nice one. I’m thinking she could set up a card table for this and the Sam’s Club venues. She could wear a designer apron and set her books up alongside her homemade cookie samples.

Books a Million is already for remainders, so it’ll save on shipping to the final resting place. I was expecting to see Buck-a-Book, in Providence, RI.

Is she dragging the kids along on this trip too? When is this “family values” candidate ever at home? Resigned to “save the state of Alaska” but around just enough to drive the rest of us nuts!

Now that Todd has “retired” from employment, does this mean he will be with her or is he the designated babysitter? What about the baby? Does she intend to drag this poor little special needs sweetheart all over creation in a big bus or is Mommy shunting him off to others for weeks at a time while she rakes in the big bucks? Is Bristol minding the store for the whole group? Is Levi available to drive?

Does she wear a in reading “Palin in 2012″ or one that identifies her as “Mom” since she spends most of her time on the road?
    Inquiring minds want to know!

Lol! That sounds like the schedule for the “Going Rouge” tour. (For those who speak French….get it??? :) ) I see she is completely avoiding any of the major cultural cities and just focusing on her “real America” bastions of redneckness (please no offense intended to anyone here who lives in any of these places!).

Hey Sarah! If you are reading this blog, please go to Urban Dictionary and look up “Going Rogue”. :) Hah!

It lists one of the three stops here in FL as just ‘The Villages’… would that include the villages of the damned? Or the Disney villages? Or the villages that are missing their idiots?

Some tour. Where’s the beef? No ‘meaty’ cities? No offense to those listed!

What? Nothing in San Diego, CA? She wrote the book here. We are supposedly a Republican city since we keep (stupidly) electing Republican mayors to a supposedly non-partisan office (but not really.) And we’re a Navy town.

She’s only going where she knows/thinks she is adored. What a chicken. Is she afraid of David Letterman in NYC? Is she afraid of Philadelphia where she got booed at a hockey game? I wouldn’t buy her book even if someone paid me. I’m in a blue state so she won’t be anywhere near me. I’d love to ask her how is she progressing Alaska.

  23. 23
    LaineyNo Gravatar says:

yeah…don’t see CA on the list. if she had her druthers, she would carve up the United States into a Conservative, Hypocritical Bibleland and just work THAT room. She is the most UNcourageous, UNgifted, UNeverything person on the planet, and she must realize (or maybe not) her message is for the small-minded, ignorant…like herself. I can see the dark side reclaiming her someday.

There IS a star in CA – if the stars themselves are not just an extension of word salad, then it will likely be Orange County. If so, I will bring some friends and have each of us ask a question:
    1. Do you think you will eventually go to jail for being found guilty of abuse of power in Troopergate?
    2. Is Pastor Muthee on this tour? I have a little witch at home who needs a lesson.
    3. Do you have any updates on that war in IRAN (one of our THREE wars you spoke about during the VP campaign)?
    4. What DOES a VP DO all day, anyway?

We can think up some really good questions, mudpuppies – and I say we ASK them. I fear, however, that if I see her I will only want to point and laugh.

After just watching Keith Olbermann, I just ‘got’ why Sarah’s book title inclued the word ‘rogue.’ Richard Wolffe’s book about Pres. Obama is titled ‘Renegade.” Both words have negative connotations. IMO, since she’s really (in her own mind) competing as a worthy opponent, and if it’s good enough for our President, it better for her. No dictionary required.

You have to open the link to her FB page to see the map – the list only shows the cities to be visited PRIOR to Thanksgiving. There are MORE – IF she does not QUIT halfway through. Sauerkraut – I don’t know the AIP colors – all red I suppose.

You should SEE the poster with the map and stars (tour stops) on her FB page.
There is an iconic image of OUR mudflats Brian the Moose on there! And ON the Brian moose it says “Go Rogue with Sarah!” I kid you not.

  37. 37
Lori in Los AngelesNo Gravatar says:

Jodie – you are correct. She has only 2 hours to arrive at a stop that is (per mapquest) 6 hours away by bus (per poster at IM).

Lainey and other Southern Californians – we shall have a meet-up and go en masse if she shows up here!

It’s not a surprise that she’s not coming anywhere near Seattle. Too bad, I would try to go just for the spectacle of it.

In case you were wondering what the point of the book tour was, I believe it has something to do with SP being “laser-polished” — see http://sarahs-accomplishments.blogspot.com/2009/11/rebirth-forging-and-breaking-glass.html
My favorite part is the malapropism contained in the line
“Her enemies thought they could destroy her with a full-court hostile press”
…you would think her fans could handle a basic basketball concept!
The featured photo of SP sighting thru a scope is pretty unsettling, but the worst is a mash-up where Ronald Reagan is made to look as though he is saluting her.
And these are her more literate fans.

Hey, Washingtonians…isn’t the star in WA right around the Yakima area? Since a lot of that area still has Dino Rossi (Prefers GOP Party) signs up, she may get a crowd :) She can’t be driving that bus back to AK, though. SeaTac or PDX has to be a stop at some point, doesn’t it?

There is a reference to her spending time with family in Washington. Our red, red area likes her, but I have never seen anything or anyone claiming a connection to her. Kinda like her Idaho college not taking a lot of credit for her. You’d think there would have been some “local connection” stories or something. President Obama’s mom’s WA connections were written about. But, THAT would be something to brag about.

Kind of a small book tour: 13 stops in seven days, and then five more in four days. I like how 11/26-11/29 is the “Thanksgiving Break”, although she has no appearances scheduled between 11/25 and 12/03.

I don’t know anything about the tactics of book promotion, but I thought that the reason most authors hit major metro areas is so they can do media interviews (local talk shows) as well as sign books. (You can only sign so many books an hour, no matter where you are).

There don’t appear to be a lot of places where there will be time for TV appearances. Dallas and the Twin Cities. Maybe Cincy?

On the other hand, the forecast for adoring crowds is pretty good.

@63 tm68 I’d offer my husband’s brother’s wife who lives there, but she is, I’m sure, a Palinista, and therefore unlikely to get anything good. She already had ‘bot tendencies for many years. A fan from CANo Gravatar says:

mlaiuppa, do you have a link to the map. I’d guess that if she goes anyplace in CA it would be redneck central like Fresno or Bakersfield. BTW, Salinas is 3 hours north of Santa Barbara on 101. Both of those areas are Blue so I doubt that she’d show up. Maybe she’ll hit the casino out in Lemoore by the Navy air station. It gets the valley types that she appeals to also.

OK, I think the map is the one from Twitter? If that is so then the CA star is just about Santa Maria or could be San Luis Obispo, the only city with bookstores on the Central Coast. It could be Paso Robles but they don’t have any bookstores just Walmart and such. I’m still thinking that the star could just be Bakersfield or Fresno shoved a bit to the left in the graphic. Time will tell.

    Mount Vernon, WA?
The price of Glenn Beck Day: $17,748.85
“Last month, Bud Norris, the mayor of Mt. Vernon, WA, controversially decided to award hometown boy Glenn Beck the ceremonial key to the city and declare Sept. 26 “Glenn Beck Day.” In response, approximately 800 people turned out to demonstrate — “the largest protest anybody could remember” in the town — and the city council unanimously passed a resolution that distanced itself from the mayor’s decision. Now, the Seattle Times reports that the event cost the small town $17,748.85, an amount that has stunned the Mt. Vernon finance director.”

Maybe she’ll be in Lynden with her brother-in-law: Stanford Development, Inc., “Real Estate Developer” James Stanford. Nordstrom shoe salesman in a previous life. And Amway IBO.

“Governor’s Special Assistant Joe Balash set up a meeting of Palin cabinet members in the Governor’s conference room in Anchorage for James Stanford and other representatives of Stanford’s employer, Thom Fischer of Bellingham, Washington. (Fischer’s Company, Whitewater Engineering was pardoned by Governor Murkowski of a conviction for criminally negligent homicide on Murkowski’s last day in office.)

The reason given by the Governor’s office for the meeting was so Stanford could pitch a wind power project in Southeast Alaska. At the start of the meeting Stanford loudly and proudly stated that he was the Governor’s brother-in-law.

It finally came out that the real reason for the meeting was to have the State force the Four Dam Pool Power Association to help finance Fischer’s hydroelectric project in Southeast Alaska that no one other than Fischer and his crowd wanted.”

Note – Whitewater is now Toll House and they did get their project. Power will be running from Petersburg, AK to Whatcom County, WA by 2014.

OMG, I saw that yesterday. What a freakin’ weird site. It says it’s about Sarah’s accomplishments and defending her , yet it seems to just be filled with strange images and odd phrases about rebirth, forging, and breaking glass. HUH? Also, seems to really make her out to be a deity. Some things along the line of “we will wait for you to save us”, etc.

Rome, Georgia, Athens, Texas, and Paris Tennessee.” chorus: “We’re not the jet set We’re the old chevrolet set There’s no Riveria in Festus, Missouri and you won’t find Onassis in Mullinville, Kansas.” It’s worth going to youtube to listen to the song.

“I don’t know anything about the tactics of book promotion, but I thought that the reason most authors hit major metro areas is so they can do media interviews (local talk shows) as well as sign books.”

    ———-
You are correct, it is common practice to grant some interviews along the way – similar to what Max Blumenthal (Republican Gomorrah: Inside the Movement that Shattered the Party), and David Plouffe, Obama’s former chief campaign manager (The Audacity to Win: The Inside Story and Lessons of Barack Obama’s Historic Victory) have done recently since publishing their books. So why doesn’t Miss Priss follow what is a natural trend for reputable authors?

Because Miss Priss isn’t a reputable author, nor does she have the aptitude to give an effective interview. Sitting signing books behind a table at Barnes&Noble, or Sam’s Club for that matter, limits the use of her word salad rhetoric to merely “Hi’s”, “Thanks for your support”, “Glad you could make it”, yada yada yada. In some ways, it’s the same as prohibiting media, cameras, phones, pen and paper during her paid speaking engagements.

The consequences of putting her face front with the media for an interview would simply be too risky, leaving the door open to stump poor ‘lil Miss Priss and challenge her, on record, about claims made in her memoir.

This should prove to be an interesting chapter to say the least.

Michigander @107 – Not sure if this is the same article you referenced, but found this to be interesting that a student from a Bible college plans to protest Palin.

    http://blog.mlive.com/talkingpolitics/2009/11/a_week_before_grand_rapids_vis.html

Huckabee will sign books in Grand Rapids Nov. 17. Palin will begin her book tour here the next day, Nov. 18.

Kuyper student Matthew Kelley, 21, says he has commitments from about 20 people to protest near the corner of East Beltline Avenue and 28th Street before Palin’s stop at Barnes and Noble at the Woodland Mall.

Kelley, a native of Kenosha, Wis., describes himself as a political independent with liberal views on some issues. He’s protesting former Gov. Palin, he said, because she “has not been a responsible public figure.

“She has come forward with statements not tied to fact,” he said, pointing to.her insistence that President Obama was tied to terrorists and her recently resurrected claim that Democratic health care reform would lead to death panels.
