the norwegian blue @44 & trishia @89:
That is one disturbed, as well as disturbing website you are linking!
It is enough to make me queasy!
My snark has returned with a vengeance!

Her book tour schedule reminds me of a great song by John Prine accompanied by Iris DeMent from the In Spite of Ourselves CD. “By a fountain in Rome I fell in love with you. In a small cafe in Athens you said you loved me too. And it was April in Paris when I first held you close to me. Rome, Georgia, Athens, Texas, and Paris Tennessee.” chorus: “We’re not the jet set We’re the old chevrolet set There’s no Riveria in Festus, Missouri and you won’t find Onassis in Mullinville, Kansas.” It’s worth going to youtube to listen to the song.

BooBoo @ 80 – bookstore has to make money to help with the security coverage; maybe that’s why you have to buy it there.
laprofesora @ 94 – oh, right. forgot there’s one down that way, too. pennsyltucky has way too many municipalities with the same name. is that washington where indiana u. of pa is located? think they might have a democratic club on campus that could send a few palin look-a-likes to march in with yellow booties?

“I don’t know anything about the tactics of book promotion, but I thought that the reason most authors hit major metro areas is so they can do media interviews (local talk shows) as well as sign books.”
———-
You are correct, it is common practice to grant some interviews along the way – similar to what Max Blumenthal (Republican Gomorrah: Inside the Movement that Shattered the Party), and David Plouffe, Obama’s former chief campaign manager (The Audacity to Win: The Inside Story and Lessons of Barack Obama’s Historic Victory) have done recently since publishing their books. So why doesn’t Miss Priss follow what is a natural trend for reputable authors?
Because Miss Priss isn’t a reputable author, nor does she have the aptitude to give an effective interview. Sitting signing books behind a table at Barnes&Noble, or Sam’s Club for that matter, limits the use of her word salad rhetoric to merely “Hi’s”, “Thanks for your support”, “Glad you could make it”, yada yada yada. In some ways, it’s the same as prohibiting media, cameras, phones, pen and paper during her paid speaking engagements.
The consequences of putting her face front with the media for an interview would simply be too risky, leaving the door open to stump poor ‘lil Miss Priss and challenge her, on record, about claims made in her memoir.
This should prove to be an interesting chapter to say the least.

No Oregon slash n cash.. on the lists? Hmmm…how nice we cause her peeps..a tad bit of heartburn.

That *laser-polished* website is freaking scary and crazy!
Just looking at the photos and reading the topics and blurbs was more than enough for me. Another site had some comments about wanting Texas to hurry up and succeed (sic) so that Sarah could be the president of her own country and then they’d work to get other states to be part of that new country. Cult is almost too tame a word for these whackos!

Okay…I am about 1 1/2 hrs. away from Grand Rapids and will see what I can come up with. I found a story @ mlive.com, she will be there from 7-9 P.M. The comments were 99% negative when I looked. Some residents insulted, funny ones (go live on an ice floe) and one person wants to protest.
What route should I go….infiltrate w/my ‘I’m With Stupid’ shirt or protest with signs outside? I kinda want to attempt the secret agent strategery….
I will get pictures and this time will post them (my son still hasn’t helped me w/the pics from the Beck protest, I am sad to admit).

Columbus? She must be nuts, alright–can’t imagine her getting a particularly friendly reception here, but we’ll see.
Guess I’ll have to go just to protect the karma of my fave hangout from being poisoned. . . .
November 10th, 2009 at 9:56 AM
OMG… Mall of America in December. Marking the calendar to stay away from the mall that day. Ugh.
November 10th, 2009 at 10:18 AM
I guess I’m a little confused about why fellow mud flatters would want to spend the time and money to go to one of these events. She’s not worth it. Nothing we can say or do would dissuade her followers. And showing up would just increase her numbers. She deserves to be shunned and ignored, and if we won’t do it, who will?
November 10th, 2009 at 10:33 AM
@Mag the Mick #110
I guess it would be to show her that she’s not loved by all…that she can’t fool all the people, all the time with her decisions and her autrocities…ignoring her only makes the starry-eyed, kool-aid drinking, kowtowing believers visible to her…she controls her interviews (facebook, twitter, fox noise) for the same reasons…she can’t control anything when she’s out in public…this book tour is forcing her out of her bubble…and so, here we are.
November 10th, 2009 at 10:51 AM
Those who wish to pass the ‘infiltration scoping/testing’..might well dress in a fashion reminis…of ..’Herself’..plus carry a bible er something..and a flag pin..or angel pin. Good luck..because even then..your expressions will give you away..an honestly ‘vapid’ expression..is just danged near impossible for all who have geniune cortical activity..goin’ on!
November 10th, 2009 at 11:10 AM
They just love her and Giuliani in “The Villages” in Florida, and I think it may well be “Tea Party central” of Central Florida. It figures that she would go there!
I also just saw her new Twitter page, and I don’t think she has enough graphics on it. It’s a little dull, don’t you think?
Actually: “It burns!” And what’s with the Moose logo gone tacky that says “Go Rogue With Sarah?” Really? Ugh.
November 10th, 2009 at 11:12 AM
OMG !!! She’s going to the town I grew up in Fla !!! AARRGGHHH!! my little brother and his wife will be in Fla. Cracker Heaven !!
November 10th, 2009 at 11:40 AM
The California star could be at Vandenberg AFB. Is it still open? A great place for a book launching.
November 10th, 2009 at 11:55 AM
Wow. All those stops look like actual work. Can she handle it?
The only reason I would be going would be to protest. Maybe some pro-choice groups in each town should organize and protest.
November 10th, 2009 at 11:55 AM
She’s too chicken to show her face in Seattle, I see, even though a good chunk of population here is from AK.
She’s probably too chicken to show up at Cafe del Mundo, too.

What a wonderful opportunity to acquaint Palin fans with a bookstore.
November 10th, 2009 at 1:04 PM
I really hope that Sarah is not allowed to go to a Unitid States Army base and be able to spew her hate. I don’t think that political rallies are allowed on Military bases.. As we all know, she is gone rogue. They better assign an officer and MP’s to stay close and monitor, so that if she goes over the line that she is escorted to the front gate if not arrested and put in the brigg. Just hoping for the last part.
November 10th, 2009 at 3:32 PM
Does Palin’s “fans” even know how to read?
November 10th, 2009 at 3:42 PM
Michigander @107 – Not sure if this is the same article you referenced, but found this to be interesting that a student from a Bible college plans to protest Palin.
http://blog.mlive.com/talkingpolitics/2009/11/a_week_before_grand_rapids_vis.html
Huckabee will sign books in Grand Rapids Nov. 17. Palin will begin her book tour here the next day, Nov. 18.
Kuyper student Matthew Kelley, 21, says he has commitments from about 20 people to protest near the corner of East Beltline Avenue and 28th Street before Palin’s stop at Barnes and Noble at the Woodland Mall.
Kelley, a native of Kenosha, Wis., describes himself as a political independent with liberal views on some issues. He’s protesting former Gov. Palin, he said, because she “has not been a responsible public figure.
“She has come forward with statements not tied to fact,” he said, pointing to.her insistence that President Obama was tied to terrorists and her recently resurrected claim that Democratic health care reform would lead to death panels.
November 10th, 2009 at 5:52 PM
OK, I live about an hour and a half from Rochester, where she’s going to be on the 21st. Anyone care to join me for an infiltration?!
November 11th, 2009 at 2:04 PM
Palin coming to Rochester will be greeted with hundreds of protesters planning on being at the Borders book store in Henrietta. We don’t want this “pin-head” wantta-be here …. or anywhere! She represent the extremist right-wing, and that’s it. Palin is simply out for Palin, and she could give a crap about the average American.
Show up at the Borders in Henrietta on Saturday November 21 and let this
worth-less self-centered loser know that she’s not welcome in Rochester.
Especially those of you at RIT …. get out and protest Palin’s visit!
