Sarah’s youger alter ego Ms. Carrie (just ’cause I am screaming “Jesus” doesn’t mean I’m praying”) Prejean has told us another sad tale of Sarah’s persecution.
Let’s see, was the “persecution” the $1.25 million advance for a book she didn’t write? Or was it the $300,000 for a speech she didn’t write, on a subject she knows nothing about? Or was it the $1million she has pocketed from her various “trust funds”?
And most important, where do I go to sign up to be “persecuted”?

The Norwegian Blue; #51. She only wants the money that says God on it. That way, she doesn’t feel guilty about asking for donations for her legal debts, from already stretched hurting americans who can barely afford to send $5.

I don’t expect anything very confrontational or even mildly challenging from Oprah, or Barbara. They are entertainers, after ratings, not interviewers after information.

Oh no she didn’t…..She really didn’t compare herself to The First Lady, or the accomplished Sotomayer, did she? First of all, NO comparison. What has the topless beauty queen accomplished that has actual meaning.
Secondly, neither woman she mentioned had been parading their “values” around to impose on other people. Meanwhile, posing topless and lying about it, and creating a little XXX tape of herself. Unbelievable.

Regarding the Barbara Walters interview. Back in the day, Barbara was a real journalist who would ask hard hitting questions. Today……not so much.
I think being on The View has changed her from a journalist to an entertainer.
Today, she does puff pieces. It’s a shame. I used to like her but in the last few years, she only does these “Hollywood” get-to-know-me interviews that promote the individual rather than hold them accountable.

Great work, flyinureye! I think the Palinistas might also like this one. They’ll have to mentally block or redefine the word “fabricating” but they are, after all, skilled at doing both.

Just got today’s mail and there’s a “bargain books” catalog. First thing that jumped off the page was a George Carlin audiobook “When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?”
The graphic is hysterical…and it gets even funnier when I start photoshopping it in my head with $P insead of Carlin, and alternate titles.

I tried to come up with ’serious’ or, as you said, ‘non-bogus’ questions. I believe all of them should be asked and properly answered.
Having said that, I doubt either Oprah or Barbara will ask them; they are after all looking for ratings, not information.
When Sarah has the guts to appear on a real ‘interview’ I might watch … in the meantime, I would feel too insulted to subject myself to Sarah’s world of delusional grandeur.

Yesterday I wrote an e-mail to DeDe (NY 23) thanking her for her service and said I was sorry she had to go through what she did. She had to really make some hard choices, and outside people got way too involved. That really wasn’t fair. Told her good luck with future endeavors.
Today I got an e-mail reply
“Thank you,
Dede.”
So cool. My students thought I was too geeky for writing it to begin with, but even the most disengaged of them thought it was pretty cool I got a response. It made her more real to them.
And a shout out to Boehner, too, for making such a screw up as to quote the Declaration of the Independence as the Preamble. How nice he could become a lesson plan. Several of them noted that not one of the people standing behind him seemed to know the difference either.

You know we had this discussion about “evil” money several years ago in Homer, Alaska (just to show you what Alaska is REALLY like in February). Seems some of the local church folks objected to a painting in the post office because it depicted a pyramid. As you all know, this is a sign of the devil! It also appears on the back of the one dollar bill. Anyway, after much ado and many letters to the editor, a civic minded citizen solved the problem. He offered to take all of the offending dollar bills, all you had to do was mail them to him.
