Moore Up North (Updated With Photos)
11 11 2009Just a quick last-minute notice…
Shannyn Moore’s new TV show Moore Up North is taping tonight upstairs at Bernie’s Bungalow Lounge at 626 D Street in Anchorage. There are still a few tickets left for the 5:00 taping of her first show! There will be great panelists and a fun live audience.
Just email mooreupnorth(at)gmail(dot)com to reserve tickets.
The little glowing box will never be the same…
And to answer the inevitable question, the plan is to have all the shows available for viewing on YouTube! Stay tuned for details.

The panelists for the debut show!

Gubernatorial Candidate Bill Walker (R), Press Secretary for Senator Mark Begich (D), Julie Hasquet, President of the Alaska AFL-CIO Vince Beltrami.
The discussion ranged from civility in politics, to the gas line, President Obama’s visit, and boxers v. briefs. I won’t give away who wears what. You’ll have to watch the show!
An enthusiastic crowd weathered the first blizzard-like driving conditions of the year to gather at Bernie’s Bungalow Lounge on D Street for martinis, and great entertainment.
This shot was taken during one of the breaks between segments. What, you may be asking, is that well-camouflaged and mysterious presence in the potted plant? Let’s use our little magnifying tool to zoom in…
Aha! Brian, the Mudflats moose went stealth, and had a front row seat. Many human Mudflatters were present for the taping as well, and Mudflats even got a shout out during the show! Nice.
I thought the show went very well. Shannyn was great, the conversation was interesting, and there was a wonderful mix of seriousness and humor. The panelists were fantastic. This is going to be the start of something very wonderful for Anchorage. The show will air Saturdays on KYES, Channel 5 courtesy of Jeremy Landsman. A YouTube channel is planned so the shows can be seen by all with internet access.
Here’s to a wonderful job by Shannyn, the panelists and all the crew who worked to bring this vision to reality.

What a great name for the show.

Sounds like it will be sort of like “The Young Turks” in the way they post their interviews on YouTube.
This way you will never miss an episode.
Soooo… AKM…. when will you be a Guest…? You and Shannyn have such good rapport and work so well as a Team. The radio interviews proved that.
November 11th, 2009 at 3:27 PM
I rang her Saturday night on the radio show. First time in my life I have ever done that. AKM, did you hear my shout out to all of you in Palmer?

Forgot to mention as well.
I am sure that Shannyn will be able to reflect back on this Day down on the first taping of her new Show. And it was done on Veterans’s Day… and it was the day President Obama visited Alaska. Special significance to her down the road.

Will her show be aired live on local tv, and if so.. does anyone know the channel?
Thank you and GOOD LUCK SHANNYN! ~

And on a related media note:
Anchor Lou Dobbs says he’s leaving CNN immediately
NEW YORK – Longtime CNN host Lou Dobbs shocked his viewers Wednesday by announcing that he would be leaving the network effective immediately. The daily host of “Lou Dobbs Tonight” addressed his viewers after giving the day’s headlines and told them Wednesday’s show would be his final time in the anchor chair.
“This will be my last broadcast,” he said.
He said CNN had allowed him to be released from his contract early and that he was considering a number of options for the next stage in his career.

Break a leg Shannyn, can’t wait to see the Youtubes!
On another funny note, this was a scream! Jon Stewart caught Hannity switching shots:

Sean Hannity Uses Glenn Beck’s Protest Footage
Sean Hannity uses footage of Glenn Beck’s bigger protest to make the GOP’s health care rally appear more heavily attended.

That’s reason enough to watch.
November 11th, 2009 at 10:22 PM
Congratulations to Shannon on her new gig! And I am so glad to hear it may be available on Youtube so my non-Alaska-living, non-TV owning self can watch too!

The picture of the entire panel reveals a light bulb flashing above Vince Beltrami’s head…I think your camera caught an idea emerging from the Alaska AFL-CIO president’s sarah-bellum…
November 12th, 2009 at 3:09 AM
congrats Shannon
, can’t wait till it hits YouTube!
November 12th, 2009 at 4:24 AM
Congrats to Shannyn. Wish I could have been there. On a different note, did you have your beer goggles on for that next to last shot? Hmmm? Yes, I finally noticed that you were focusing on the little camera screen, but at first glance, I wondered what had happened to your usually crisp and well-composed pictures. I thought that maybe the audience was having a REALLY wonderful time. I mean what with the snow and all, a person has to keep warm, right?
November 12th, 2009 at 5:31 AM
this is completely and totally awesome.
November 12th, 2009 at 6:21 AM

Loved Brian in the potted plant.
Now if we could just rig him with a recording device and small transmitter….
