Well, my translation program started to steam a little bit when I input this one:
“Keep your powder dry, read the book, and enjoy it! Lots of great stories about my family, Alaska, and the incredible honor it was to run alongside Senator John McCain.
The problem was the powder thing. I had to manually search and found what I believe is the actual source of her comment
“I often call to mind a motto from the American Revolution: “Trust in God but keep your powder dry.” Wise counsel! If your reputation is being ruined by lies, if your company is going down the tubes because of false accusations, if your church is being destroyed and demoralized because of wrong information from lying lips, there are times it is necessary to step up and set the record straight.”
Appropriate, eh?
Pity she seems to ignore the first sentence of his second paragraph: “Forming habits of self-restraint is an essential discipline.”
I bet SP doesn’t know the phrase predates the American Revolution – it has been attributed to Oliver Cromwell in the English Civil War (“Oh!”, says Sarah. ”You had one of those too?”)
In any case, it threw my translation software for a small loop, so, with intervention, here is what, I think, the last part of this really means:
Keep reading my obscure references to events and slogans you know nothing about but sound really cool if you are a Tea Partier, buy my book, buy lots of copies of my book, and enjoy it! It’s got, despite Rush Limbaugh’s claim, no substantive policy because my editors told me that that would be boring and unenjoyable, so instead there are lots of stories about; my family, including how my strong daughter Bristol got pregnant without so much as even a father named [alt., without so much as a kind word said of the father of my grandchild]; Alaska (not so much); and the incredible honor it was to run alongside Senator John McCain, because, as a runner, I had no problem keeping up with the old man on our early morning jogs.
OH, I just heard Oprah say something about “it wasn’t your baby”, hmm, this should be interesting and that they told her what to eat? gee, like if your in a Phily diner with media on ya buy something Phily’s love? most likely
“She played her tapes,” Barnett said, meaning that Palin repeated pre-planned statements. “She came in with ten things to say and six winks to perform, and she did them.”

W O W ..the moment you think the Republican Senators have sunk as low as they possibly can, they dig a little deeper. Seems they got out the backhoe to help dig today!
Apparently, some of them are upset about the public backlash from their vote against Franken’s anti-rape ammendment.
Noooo, they don’t regret voting against an ammendment that was inspired by the gang rape, kidnapping and forcible imprisonment (without food or water) of a young woman working for Halliburton in Baghdad. What has their panties in a twist is that it was a role-call vote (and their individual votes are recorded) as opposed to a voice vote where they apparently maintain some anonymity. They don’t feel bad about HOW they voted, they’re just cranked about having to take RESPONSIBILITY for those votes come election time.
They just don’t understand why people are so upset about them voting against the ammendment. And now they’re claiming that Franken doesn’t really care about preventing this kind of brutal crime, but the Democrats just wanted something they could use to make the Republicans look bad. Guess what, folks, you’re doing a dandy job of that all by yourselves!
“Grieving soldiers and families at Fort Hood, Texas, will get a visit from Sarah Palin next month as part of her national book tour, her publisher told Washington Wire.
The former vice presidential candidate, whose book “Going Rogue,” will be released on Tuesday, had already agreed to visit the Army base, according to her publicist. She said that after last week’s shooting that left 13 people dead and 30 wounded, an official on the base contacted HarperCollins to say that Palin should stick with the planned appearance.
The Dec. 4 event had not been announced publicly or included in a preliminary list of tour stops published on Palin’s Facebook page.”
I love that all the people she lied about in the book are speaking out. She must be self-medicating a LOT by this time. Perhaps one of her fabrications will consist of something for which she can and will be sued.
Ripley – I heard Nicolle Wallace DID respond (with Candy Crowley on CNN) – but I have not been able to find a link. It is reported that McCain asked all the campaign people NOT to respond. Getting gooooooood!
AKM has her story on Parnell snubbing President Obama.
There are only a couple of dozen comments and some are not so nice. I hope everyone will get on over there and post some positive statements!
I’m not sure you are seeing this info, so I’m posting it. (forgive me for the sick feeling you get in your stomach)

PLEASE KEEP MAKING THE IDIOTS’ HEADS SPIN ? ? ? ! ! ! !
I just read the excerpt in the Drudge Report–egads! Not only does she have it in for Couric and Wallace, she has done a good job of making both women seem inept at their jobs. Me thinks that they should respond to Palin’s blatant attempt to discredit them.
In that case, libel/slander are on the table for Katie/Nicole. Damages in $$ would likely be big enough to prevent any income earned from remaining with SP.
The more she opens foot, inserts mouth, the more trouble she’s getting into. Even local stations in ATL are questioning whether SP’s Oprah visit is going to torch her out of politics/limelight. My thoughts: from their mouths to God’s ears!
