The apple does not fall far from the tree; the apple being Liz Cheney, and the gnarled, creaking tree with a shriveled black dead frozen heart is her father Dick Cheney. After telling us that Sarah Palin is absolutely a serious candidate for president in 2012, and what a fabulous and “well-written” book she has, she says it would be nothing short of sexist for someone to not think she’s a contender. After all, whoever the candidate is is going to have to be able to:
“…address these incredibly grave challenges we’re facing as a nation. They’re going to … in my view, they will have to undo a lot of the damage that this president has done to our national security, to our economy, to our health care system, to our standing around the world…”
Sexist. Why doesn’t anyone accuse Palin critics of being unqualifiedists, or whackjobbists, or narcissistists? OK, that last one is unpronounceable, but you get my point.
Juan Williams has a great “are you crazy?” response, and then we launch into “bow gate.” I won’t ruin it for you.
And then, at the end…. the words are spoken. Liz Cheney says you can look at the comparison between Dick Cheney and Barack Obama and think,
“Cheney 2012.”

I’m sorry. I just can’t watch it. I am Palined up to my eyeballs from the weekend, and Liz Cheney on top of Ms Sarah would probably make parts of me bleed.

the danger with these kinds of people…cheney (both), palin…is that they don’t even take suggestions on how crazy their ideas are from their own brand…their disconnect to conversations and surroundings are very dark and unpredictable…who let them out? …counseling and therapy will never work…maybe a lightening strike or two.

Cheney had extremely low approval numbers when he left office (and before). Large numbers of people think SP is not qualified to hold national office. But, somehow these people can create fear in the republican base and others that President Obama is (socialist, Muslim, ineligible to be president, fascist, determined to destroy American as we know it) a very bad president and is taking away their freedom. We forget that many people just don’t pay very close attention until a few weeks before they go to the polls. In between they hear this trumped up chatter about what the president is doing wrong. I scares me to think how many of them believe this crap.

The undeniably lazy Palin has already achieved much more notoriety than, say, Huckabee, with very little effort: why would she risk spoiling her celebrity status with another embarrassing loss?
The “idle banter” on Pox is an effort to sidestep the fact that running for president in ’012 as a teabagging Republican is a fool’s errand.

Strategically for democrats, I doubt it would hurt if the republicans nominated someone like Cheney (or Palin). I don’t see how either of these potential candidates could win a general election.
But I doubt Cheney has the heart, (physically or metaphorically), to qualify for President. How many heart attacks has he had? 4? 5?
I worry a bit about President Obama’s health, (since our President smokes), but generally he’s in great shape. However if Cheney were President, even now, there would be a very tangible chance the guy could drop dead before the end of his term. He’d be 10 days younger than 71 on January 20, 2012 (he was born January 30, 1941); perhaps he’d be beating the odds if he even lived to see that day, and I’d sure worry that he might not make it to the end of term. Who’d be his vice president? Palin?
Liz claims Obama ruined the economy is 10 short months? No Liz it was 8 yrs of Bush & your Dad that ruined it.

So when Liz Cheney says “standing in the world” what she really means is “standing in the right wing world of America”. It’s too bad she made these bone headed comments. Up until now I had some respect for Liz Cheney. I thought she was intelligent and articulate and perhaps an upcoming star for the Republican party. However, if she thinks Sarah Palin is a serious contender for the Republican leadership then she’s not as smart as I thought she was. Not that it was super high o begin with but my respect for Liz Cheney just came down several notches.
So Lizzy thinks her daddy should run for president, huh? He should be in jail right next the Bush. I would tell Lizzy that daddy has a pacemaker I don’t think he would last that long as president. Hub is a Doctor, is very against the healthcare proposals, etc… Very conservative and right-leaning. LOL I took that as a good thing! People ARE paying attention.

Wolf Pack–Los Angeles Unified School District has an enrollment about the same size as Alaska’s population. The superintendent is retired military, I think he was a colonel. Enrollment numbers don’t count teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and community members that are involved and he has to deal with, nor does it tell you about all the ethnic/race groups and languages.
Who would think the LA schools superintendent has enough experience to be president? And I bet he does a whole lot better working with all the ethnic groups there than $P did with the one major group in Alaska. Can you imagine her showing up at an LA school board meeting with a plate of cookies???
What worries me about Cheney is he wouldn’t need to be President to do a lot of damage. He’s already proven that. War has been one of Cheney’s main interests in government. He wouldn’t necessarily need to be President to influence a republican administration to start a war with Iran.

When ex-governor Palin says, that’s a good question she is giving herself time to think up a non-answer. She will never be honest enough with anyone when asked a question. I question the practice of showing these (Fox) clips here and places like Huffington Post. What is the point? We know they are lunatics. I turned off Fox News in the 90′s. Cheney was dead wrong on everything, except very successful on making money for war profiteering cronies and the oil industry.

IMO, Liz Cheney is positioning herself as Republican VP candidate in 2012. No matter how horrible this sounds (considering SP), the voting public has gotten used to seriously considering a female on the ticket. Conservative repubs and freepers want a female on the ticket (astonishing). Liz (Cheney Jr.) would work because she’s not as big of an idiot as SP and she has the prerequisite 5 children. She appears to do as she’s told and is not a ‘maverick’ though I’m pretty sure she’s a rogue (without the lipstick). Jeb Bush has already spoken of heading up a ‘shadow’ government. Some are nostalgic for another Bush/Cheney regime.

That quote about destabilizing the current foreign policy is TREASON, as in aiding & abetting the enemy. By taking a direct step against foreign policy it aids the enemy.
