Palin to Media – “Quit Findin’ Things Out!”
Well Palin’s book is not even out yet, but the dam has burst. The floodgates are open. The rogue has hit the fan.
Why? Because something has happened that Sarah Palin, her ghostwriter Lynn Vincent and her editor never anticipated. That darn media is at it again, only this time they’ve sunk to a new low. They have stooped to … fact checking. It’s these kinds of ambush, gotcha, guerilla tactics that keep good decent people from writing works of historical fiction and marketing them as memoirs. It’s a disturbing trend.
It’s hard to keep up with the tide of information, leaks, commentary, and debunking going on, but here is some catch up material for those of you who have other things you’ve been doing in your life than keeping up with the latest Palin revelations.
Associated Press – They not only have a fact-checker, they have a team of fact-checkers. And it didn’t take long before all kinds of things didn’t pass the truth test. Campaign donations, fancy hotels, the stimulus package, Alaska’s natural gas pipeline (they’re going to get started on that any year now), it’s all here.
People Magazine – Palin tells Barbara Walters that they were “devastated” when they heard the news of Bristol’s pregnancy. And 15-year old Willow, one of the children that Sarah Palin has tried desperately to keep away from the glare of the media spotlight appears in the interview telling Walters that she thinks if her mother became President, it would be “cool.”
Associated Press – Hillary Clinton, who has never met Sarah Palin, thinks it would be interesting to sit and have coffee with her. Clinton was responding to a passage in Going Rogue about Clinton that says ”I know that we would fundamentally disagree on many issues.” But Palin says, “my hat is off to her hard work on the 2008 campaign trail.” I’d like to be a fly in that Starbucks.
The New York Times Book Review – They are not impressed. My favorite quote? “All in all, Ms. Palin emerges from “Going Rogue” as an eager player in the blame game, thoroughly ungrateful toward the McCain campaign for putting her on the national stage. As for the McCain campaign, it often feels like a desperate and cynical operation, willing to make a risky Hail Mary pass in order to try to score a tactical win, instead of making a considered judgment as to who might be genuinely qualified to sit a heartbeat away from the Oval Office.” Yup.
The Daily Dish – Andrew Sullivan muses about the fact that “The Thrilla from Wasilla” was an obsessive reader of his blog, and contemplated suing him for libel, but decided against it because of the negative publicity it might bring. Indeed. Like the negative publicity she’ll get from writing this book? Sources also say that Palin obsessively read Alaska blogs as well, but kudos to Mr. Sullivan for coming up with the coveted shout out. (waves to Andrew Sullivan) With all this blog obsessing, when on Earth did she have time to run the state effectively? Oh, wait…
The Swamp – “Palin Unbottled.” A good wrap up of the book that is described as one long complaint about the McCain campaign, and its staffers. After a strange diatribe about the campaign’s penchant for Atkins diet bars, she recounts the reaction to the infamous prank call from a fake President Nicholas Sarkozy. ”Right away, the phones started ringing. One of the first calls was [Steve] Schmidt, and the force of his screaming blew my hair back. “How can anyone be so stupid?! Why would the president of France call a vice presidential candidate a few days out?!” And here’s where it starts to get really interesting.
The Huffington Post - In an article by Sam Stein, we learn that the aforementioned Steve Schmidt, apparently incensed by Palin’s liberal use of the literary device “makin’ things up” has released not one, not two, but three emails that controvert claims that Palin made in her book. It seems that the screaming at Palin that “blew [her] hair back” was directed at staffers, not Palin and happened in an email, not in person. Staffers call the excerpts from the book “a serious mixing of truth and imagination.”
Geoffrey Dunn – One of those who is writing a book on Palin that you’ll actually want to read tells a similar story, quoting Schmidt as calling Palin’s assertions in Going Rogue “total fiction.” “To read Sarah Palin’s shockingly shallow Going Rogue,” says Dunn, ”one is immediately struck by how nasty and vindictive Palin is, and that her book is little more than a veiled mechanism for settling scores with old foes who have triumphed over her throughout Palin’s lifetime.”
Meanwhile back in Alaska…
Blue Oasis - There’s more than one Palin book on the shelves, and here we find an analysis of how Sarah from Alaska, The Persecution of Sarah Palin, and Going Rogue handle the topic of the ethics complaints filed against her, the state records requests, and her tangle with the Alaska Public Offices Commission – all the wonky stuff that doesn’t have the titilating gossip factor, but actually matters a whole lot more. There’s no one better than Linda Kellen Biegel at picking apart the details and giving a great analysis of this tangled mess.
Just a Girl from Homer - One of the plaintiffs in the Exxon Valdez oil spill case, Shannyn Moore notes, “So Sarah was against the decision before she couldn’t remember it before she was for it. And now, courtesy of Going Rogue, Sarah Palin manages to insult and injure Alaskans who will never be made whole with yet another one of her documented lies.” Videos included.
The Anchorage Daily News – We will not forget. They may wish we would forget, but we will not. We are a pit bull. Too many out there are watching and waiting for Palin’s emails that were requested via state records requests, to be revealed. The law is clear, and the state is breaking it – over, and over, and over. Palin is gone, and now the big mess she left has been dumped squarely in the lap of the next administration who continues to stall. Paul Jenkins speculates that “enterprising young lawyers will have to haul the state into court for failure to obey its own law.”
I could go on. And on. And by the time today is over, there will be a whole new set of articles to take its place, and then next week the book arrives and the real fun begins. So get your beaauty sleep, and stock up on comfort food and adult beverages because you’re going to need them.

Just the ‘heads-up’ folks. I went to check out AKM’s chapter on the Going Rouge @ HP:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/akmuckraker/going-rouge—an-american_b_357676.html
Great read! Decided to buy the book (hey, I deserve this I’ve been a good girl all year). Link to buy at the bottom of the article. Found:
All orders before November 16, 2009, get a 10% discount.
So, if anyone else is planning to buy, you might get busy shopping.
LOL This ‘ll be gettin’ fun, also, though, you betcha ;-0
I wonder how much the State of Alaska would charge me for any and all emails deriding the character of “Pit Bulls” for political gain
Oops.. sorry, deridin’ I had an extra “g” in der..
Doesn’t it just fry ya that SP is going to make such a huge pile off this? She’s laughin all the way to the bank I’m afraid. But I don’t think she’ll be getting any GOP nomination in 2012. After all, most of her followers think the apocalypse is coming a month after the election anyway.
FYI AKM – The Blue Oasis link takes us to Sam Stein’s HuffPo article.
How you will keep your blood pressure normal and your head from bursting once you start reading the book from cover to cover is beyond me! I feel saturated with minutinae from her that no one needs to know. Her in-depth discussion of her pregnancies, gel on the tummy, and so forth is certainly not going to appeal to any male readers (one would hope!), and it doesn’t sound like the type of data someone seeking to be a world leader would be revealing.
This excerpt from The Swamp article about her call from Sarkozy brought a chuckle and bit of incredulity to me – WHO were the presidents of other countries who actually called HER???
“By that time I’d received calls from presidents of other countries and our own, and had met elder statesmen and other dignitaries, so it didn’t surprise us too much that we’d be speaking with the French leader,” Palin writes.
Happy Sunday to all – I’m going to avoid the morning shows – it is too lovely a day already to get bummed out listening to doom-and-gloomers.
Even after all of these negatives, an article in the Washington Post still suggests that she could take the GOP nomination (it makes me angry and sick to even think about that possibility). And before you laugh yourself silly because in no way is she of the same intellectual caliber as our President (it’s like comparing an ant hill to Mr. Everest), just remember that the American electorate has done very strange things in the past. If people are still hurting from a bad economy by the time the next election cycle begins then they are likely to vote for “change” as they have done on numerous occasions. And if Palin is the change that they vote for then maybe the world actually will end in 2012.
I know I’m paranoid but the mere fact that she’s still around after all her (proven) lies and blunders and that she is still held up by many in the GOP boggles the mind and strikes fear in my heart.
No one will ever know
A vindictive liar musing aloud to a complete stranger slapping together a book designed expressly to attract attention in a big rush to meet a deadline.
Not a fool proof formula.

I’ve got to be more disciplined today, I spend all day yesterday reading excerpts and crowing.
She is sick in the head. Other Presidents called her? Really? Maybe in her dreams.
Finally, the ADN breaks with Palin.
Cronopio Says:

Me too, I couldn’t stop guffawing all day. However, I know in my heart and soul, this week will be a write-off….it is just too much fun.
Yeah, I think the President of Africa called her.
And Prince Albert, in the Can.
Splendid wrap-up of the reaction so far, AKM, thank you.
MSM and the McCain are all so self-serving, busily debunking Palin lies now as if that wasn’t their job last August. When the American electorate needed facts, it was AKM and other bloggers with pitbull-like tenacity that did the digging and the writing.
Whoever did the veep vet check last year was an epic fail and deserves the full glare of public exposure and scorn. Keeping the media attention focused on Palin’s book is just another part of the coverup, IMO.
OMG @7 – I was listening to NPR cover the book and one of the commentators was talking about the fact that she could see Palin making a viable run. I was agog. Are these folks not paying attention? I think it’s our job to get them concise info to help them fill in the gaps. That’s something I’ve been rolling around the past few days.
I feel better knowing I wasn’t the only one that blew an entire day reading excerpts and reviews. ( and then the night in the treehouse/chat) I woke this morning giving myself a stern talking to that I’d be underway with regular desk business by 9am. Unfortunately, it’s now 9:30 and I’m still catching up with comments. I have a feeling I’m going to be in trouble with myself by 11.
In my defense though – I’m absolutely thrilled that folks are finally calling this woman out. It’s much more interesting to be watching that happen than it is going through my bills.
Andrew Sullivan has this to say about her today.
“She is a deeply disturbed individual whose grip on reality is very weak, and whose self-awareness is close to nil. This much is not a leap, let alone unfair. It is simply unavoidable if one examines her surreal invention of reality – even when she must surely know that the evidence exists out there to contradict her.”

It’s been a crazy whirlwind since book excerpts have been leaked. My eyes are goin’ rogue….. I think this book tells the absolute truth to the fact that there is “something about Sarah”. Maybe some therapy and time off for starters.
Is this the first time in history that a memoir has been so controversial and sounding like a fish story? What this book does is expose either two things: a woman who likes to fabricate, embellish, and (so far accused of lying) just because she loves doing it, has no conscience about lying, making stuff up. Or, she is delusional and this was her reality.
To think that she could have been VP gives one pause to ask questions about whether candidates in future should be required to pass mental health tests.
C’mon guys, Sarah says, you’re just making stuff up. That was a nice summary AKM, and it was just for Sat. Hunting season opens today in Michigan, (Deer.) Will she be taking the bus or copter to Mi? Grand Rapids, Mi. site of the Gerald R. Ford, presidential library. Our 38th president. A real gentleman and a graduate of the U of Mich. GO BLUE.
Everytime I happen to hear a snippet of the days ‘news-rush’..as it whips through the media storm..I simply imagine a slender, shaply weasel..in peep-toes. That done..I smile..and return to the life I live..but I do think the apoc.now..idea..could use an ..Amp. How about someone put up a portion of a website..with the ‘down-ticking clock’..showing how much time..the earth has until the instantanious dance of death..vacuums the chosen..oh wait..that would mean..that..at the time of such a happening..when All those-folks..found they were still in their lil crouch on bended knee, or shopping in a store aisle..they would have to see the clock..then..ticking INTO..the next umpty-ump years of a new Deathdays scenario. I have some cherished cousins who are probably creating..storys as to howcome..we all survived that upcoming Coming..right now….. oh yeah. I’m waitin’..doncha know..
I also lost most of yesterday reading pages of this book. Hilarious.
But I feel the tide changing about her and if she does headline the Teabagger party in Feb, she is third party toast.
And I think she is delusional enough to run for the third party, and that is the only way she could do it. She would not have to be interviewed by real journalists or debate anyone, just crown her the nominee. And the Teabagger party nominee would not be expected to actually know anything.
Perfect.
She again thinks she is above the law and her word should be taken as gospel.s
Yup, me too, I sure did that thing yesterday … not getting much work done with all the delicious errors, lies and mis-speaks being found all over her book.
So I too must cool it today, but one thing is certain from this reading – it is in her own voice and her Facebook clearly are NOT. Every time she writes such erudite words as ‘bogus’, or “Dang’, or ‘cobelligerents’ or calls someone ‘the falafel lady’ (with no explanation) or insults someone or blames someone, she is showing the world who she really is – the mean girl we long ago found out she never outgrew from junior high school.
Do you realize that even at only one lie, snark, whine or blame per page, that’s (if evenly distributed. over 100 lies, 100 snarks, 100 whines and 100 blames!
Thanks But No Thanks. I am not reading this book.
It is clear from what’s been released so far that it would indeed cause my new Mac SP “What I Really Meant” Translation and Filter software to crash my computer, so I will spare it – and you! – from the endevor.
Now, back to work!
(But, work a little, take a little break, work a little, take a little break …)
something is just not right with her. She wants to hide behind facebook and attack the President but calls out anyone who questions her as “makin stuff up” and calls them a liar.
She would do well in N Korea
I’m shocked! I really thought she was going to give us the unvarnished truth. Set the record straight. Give us satellite photos of that Alaska Gas Pipeline that she claimed was getting built from her arm twisting of the Big Oil Corporations.
The only interesting thing about her, is how much longer people will continue to be distracted from real things that actually matter. Two wars, a messed up economy, the worst health care system, global warming. The extinction of 50% of all species in 40 yrs. Tainted food, tainted toys, tainted drugs. One out of six unemployed. The closing of factories and outsourcing of jobs.
Perhaps it is time to turn her off, and get down to the business of getting a good Governor elected in Alaska.
Other heads of state called her? Such as, who, also, and too? Great read with my coffee, AKM. Keep it comin’.
If you want a portrait of Sarah’s mental state, google “pathological liar”, which is often coupled with narcissistic personality disorder. One symptom is lying about things of no importance ie. “Todd built the boat”.
The pathological liar believes anything coming out of their mouth is the truth, and the fact that it has no basis in reality or contradicts what they said or did yesterday does not register with them. Sound familiar?
My head nearly exploded reading that one page excerpt!
I truly fear for your sanity AKM if you read the entire book.

Hey mega — long time no see. The discount applies to AKM’s book, not the Rogue book.
Listening to Sarah one gets the impression that but for the McCain campaign staffers she really and truly could have become VP. If only they had listened to her! They must have felt they were “babysiting” this diva.
Playing “victim” may be approved in some circles but she just proves how stupid she is thinking this will pave her way to the WH. Believe me, at this point in time she is running. This is her aim. Her desire. She feels entitled and there is a contingent out there who agree.
Scary.
I think the word that best describes it is “shallow”. I thought they would at least weave in ghost written portions in each chapter to give it some credibility. I guess it is hard to turn a soap opera script into a good feature film.
Also look up NP Disorder. Perfect fit. I just read on Wonkette that Palin says in her book that she found it “ironic” that Obama ran on “change” because that has always been her platform. She seems to indicate that he copied her…..yes you read that correctly. She was the VP candidate yet Obama was stealing his campaign from Palin…even though he had already campaigned for years before the Palin pick.
Delusions of grandor…..NPD. She is nuts
McCain is a coward for still defending her and throwing his own team under the bus. He said the other night that she IS qualified to run in ’12. No joke. He has not read the book yet but he will not come out and say he made a mistake. Some hero…he is a coward.
The subtitle should be, “An dull, ordinary life lived pathetically.” No wonder she liked Muthee and his with hunts. It brought excitement without work on her part to a mind-numbing existence. She has done nothing to make her world interesting or better. It’s too much work. Of course she wants the spotlight. There’s nothing in her life of going from one failure to another–in jobs, birth control, pipeline, campaign–worth going back to.
Limbozo says it is the best policy book ever written. Why would he have to read it?
“I love the smell of bear skat in the morning!” S’arah is back – yet again.
Not really, but Alaska’s most infamous moose nugget (And that is saying something after “Uncle Ted”, Murkowski, and a very long list of other indited co-conspirators) is commanding much more attention than she deserves with her most recent burlesque. Still, it behooves us to watch her closely. She is still dangerous for many reasons that amaze me and confirm the intellectual demise of most of our population.
Remember, we still have Mudflats!
I have a strange (but satisfying) feeling that the GOP would spend a considerable amount of their own money to derail any run on the nomination from SP. Talk about eating their own…
Trisha @31- I agree 100% on your diagnosis.
Something struck me when I read the link for The Swamp about the nutrition bars. The conversations she relates about how they talked to her about what to eat made me think that her behavior was off the wall and they were trying to address her nutrition as a cause for her behavior. I think more will be revealed about how unbalanced SP was on the campaign trail.
@37Laurie- I was struck too, about the Atkins Bar diet she was on, and the staff trying to advise her on balancing her eating habits. Her behavior was getting more erratic and they were trying to rein her in. Maybe her medical records reveal therapy for mental health issues, besides “abortion” being whited-out.
Prophet Sarah’s latest rant on Facebook. She is truly nutso.

trisha…I feel the same way about McCain. First he unleashed this no-nothing creature then he defends her unconditionally. She is now slandering his former campaign staff, making them look pathetic and incompetent, implying that they were lacking the intelligence and discipline required for their jobs…and he still defends her. She also slandered Wallace by implying that Wallace had no respect for her former employer. Eventually, when she feels it is safe to do so, she will no doubt position McCain under the very bus that so many of Palin’s friends and supporters now find themselves.
Kathy @ 1 – I am going to wait 6 months and see if it goes on sale at Hamilton Booksellers for the same $2.95 that Kaylene Johnson’s book is currently selling. But I may not want to waste my 3 bucks. An ice cream cone would much less bitter.

Why be afraid? Uber-liberal Cyndy Lauper will still have more money than Sarah Palin. And even Ms. Lauper knows that money isn’t everything… she said MONEY! Money isn’t everything. …
But in Sarah Palin’s case, money may be all she will ever get or be.

Don’t be afraid because in the grand scheme of things and in real life, a few dozen people do not really constitute “many in the GOP.” Her public life is about to implode. There is only so much 7th grade mean girl behavior that the electorate is willing to tolerate.

Not to worry.
Anything she makes is going to end up going to pay lawyers and mental health professionals…
well, nothing new, right?…we all knew she was a blog reader b/c of her early on complaints against the pajama-clad basement dwellers, that exposed the truth on her…exposed her for what she really was and smooshed her delusions…awww, too bad. I guess she was acting all evasive towards Katie Couric b/c she didn’t want to admit what she really read!
in my opinion, her still being visible and active after a year doesn’t change my fears for the Pandora’s box that mccain was so careless in opening for the sake of a desperately wanted win, with not a microscopic concern over the consequences to our country…I will never ever forgive that man for allowing the crazy religious, power-hungry entity he let loose, to devour us!
I was giving a passing thought to going to the Roanoak, VA B&N for Palin’s signing (no way am I buying the book) but just saw a notice that B&N is giving out tickets at 6am for her noon appearance.
As I live several hours away, I’ll pass that info along to puppies that might live closer.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!
I’ve wondered about McCain. I can see him choosing her just to get elected, but I can’t imagine him putting up with her after getting in the WH. And all her blunders, it would take a large mop up staff. So . . . if I were McCain and I chose her so I could be elected and it worked, even before the inauguration I’d have people secretly looking into all the allegations against her in Alaska, and, a few months at most after being sworn in, “discover” that she wasn’t honest, act shocked, demand her resignation, and replace her with who I really wanted as VP. Congress would be so glad to get rid of her that confirming someone else would be easy!
Muddy: First, you were great on Shannyn’s radio show last night – she was also on a role..AND pissed off – good thing. (We’ll have to do a little fact-checking ourselves on the shirt story about you and she on Keith’s and Rachael’s show…teehee)…AND, how in the world did you and she get on a Fox radio channel??? Amazing….
Anyway, no wonder palin is avoiding ‘major’ cities on her bus tour next week because most big cities have those crazy internets where they can get someone in the liberul media to send them a package of facts (lies) about what palin ghost writer actually said!!! That represents far too much risk for palin’s pr team on the bus…teehee…
Even David Brooks (not noted for a liberal bias) has announced today that “New York Times’s columnist David Brooks — never a huge fan of Sarah Palin — laced into the former vice presidential candidate on Sunday, calling her a “joke” and a “potential talk show host.” Sam Stein has a great little diddy in the HuffPo this morning… Is she just oblivious to facts or is she really this stupid???
I liked Christopher Hitchen’s analysis in Newsweek – “Palin’s Base Appeal”
http://www.newsweek.com/id/222794
“Sarah Palin herself can apparently never tire of contrasting her folksy provincialism with the pointy-headed intellectuals, and with those in the despised city of “Washington,” where her supporters want—it would seem against her own better instincts—to move her. To hear the woman talk, you would imagine that populism was a magic formula that had never been tried before (though Continetti and his colleagues at the conservative Weekly Standard eagerly compare Palin to the raucous demagogue and onetime Klan-fan William Jennings Bryan: remember—they said it, not me).
“But the problem with populism is not just that it stirs prejudice against the “big cities” where most Americans actually live, or against the academies where many of them would like to send their children. No, the difficulty with populism is that it exploits the very “people” to whose grievances it claims to give vent.
“The Palin problem, then, might be that she cynically incites a crowd that she has no real intention of pleasing. If she were ever to get herself to the nation’s capital, the teabaggers would be just as much on the outside as they are now, and would simply have been the instruments that helped get her elected.
“Then there’s the question of character and personality. Decades ago, Walter Dean Burnham pointed out that right-wing populists tended to fail because they projected anger and therefore also attracted it.
“The United States has to stand or fall by being the preeminent nation of science, modernity, technology, and higher education. Some of these needful phenomena, for historical reasons, will just happen to concentrate in big cities and in secular institutions and even—yes—on the dreaded East Coast. Modernity can be wrenching, as indeed can capitalism, and there will always be “out” groups who feel themselves disrespected or left behind. The task and duty of a serious politician, as Edmund Burke emphasized so well, is to reason with such people and not to act as their megaphone or ventriloquist. Sarah Palin appears to have no testable core conviction except the belief (which none of her defenders denies that she holds, or at least has held and not yet repudiated) that the end of days and the Second Coming will occur in her lifetime. This completes the already strong case for allowing her to pass the rest of her natural life span as a private citizen.”
I liked this for it analysis of not just Sarah, but of her supporters. When you live in Fantasy Land, of course you’ll be perpetually disappointed and resentful. Reality bites.
Again, those girls are NOT in school. What a shame that they are on a fast track to be dropouts like their older siblings.
Great compendium, AKM. Please keep adding to it as the days go by. I too consoled myself on a dismal, drizzly and dark Saturday by reading all the excerpts and comments. What a guilty pleasure! One teeny correction: the New York Times review of “Going Rogue” by Michiko Kakutani is not from the Sunday Book Review but an early posting from Monday’s paper. Kakutani is the lead daily reviewer for the Times.
Thanks AKM for the round-up.
Sarah – if you’re reading – quit making things up. Things like email, video footage, transcripts, other people’s witness will always reveal the truth. In all seriousness, stop it. You’re embarrassing yourself. No, really. You are.
Really? She took space in her book to rant about energy bars? Wow…what a policy wonk. Rush was right. Snark.
pvaswindy #39 – SP’s FB on “Still Making Things Up”: She says, “AP reporters dedicating times and resources to tearing up the book, instead of using times and resources to “fact check” what’s going on with Sheik Mohammed’s trial, Pelosi’s health care takeover costs, Hasan’s associations, etc.”
Her sudden concern for justice is surprising. All of a sudden, she’s become a mediator for national issues? Where was she during all those years events were unfolding in these areas? Cutting ribbons, flagging Iron Dog races, traipsing across country with kids in tow, traveling, basking in the limelight? Walking in a parade? Come on.
She took the “time” to tear up quite a few people in her book. You reap what you sow. If she were so concerned about media honesty, she would have taken that journalism degree, put it to good use, and saturated herself with human interest subjects, made a career into becoming an honest reporter. No, she takes on a job that to her “is a lame duck job”, begs for money, can’t finish a job, and whines in a book about her mistreatment.
Yes, there are a whole lot of negative things happening in our world. And, the rest of the population don’t sit and whine, write books, make a few million. They get active and may never get any acknowledgement for it, or praise from men.
Here I am again. pvaswindy; just to say I wasn’t speaking directly to you. I meant to thank you for posting the FB link. Thanks.
I have a very good friend who is about an hour from Rochester NY a friend of her’s invited her to attend the book signing next week… Her friend told her I can’t find anyone who will go with me!!!(we both rolled at this one!) She does not want to go but I said oh puhleezzzzze go then report back on the doin’s!!! We want to hear all!!! Last time I talked to her yesterday she was considering but said unless she could find ear plugs that cut out screech she just did not know!!!! keep y’all posted! Oh BTW my friend was a McCain supporter until he chose Scarah… she voted Obama!!!
If you’ve already gone to the C4P site to see their great rebuttal, please copy the whole thing and any juicy comments and post parts (not the whole thing, mind you) of it here to elucidate us.
If you haven’t, try not to. I’ve been nipping over there occasionally lately, but as you know, it only makes them a) think they’re more popular than they really are, or 2) more money from ad hits, or c) both.
So I will restrain myself.
But if you’ve already gone over …. please do tell!
I find that I have to look twice at the title too.
“Rogue” has gone from a lie of desperation to a slab of red meat tossed out to a pack of starving, starry-eyed Republican lions.
Hi AKM I like your Huff POst article- extremely well written. I posted the quote to suggest that “Starry Eyed Republican Lions” is too kind- and mayby the metaphor should have been Jackals or Hyenas?
OK, a new theory–
McCain didn’t actually want to WIN the Presidency, he just wanted to RUN for President, hence, he went along with selecting Palin because he couldn’t give a rip about it. The reason he keeps defending her is because she actually helped keep him from getting elected, and he is grateful to her for that. He’s probably glad too that he didn’t win because Sarah would have been one big face-time stealer as VP. Plus the big Bristol/Levi wedding woulda overshadowed any actual national news.
Maybe secretly he is glad Obama won, and didn’t really want to be President except if enough of the voters thought he deserved to be just because he was shot down in ‘Nam. I don’t think Cindy woulda been a particulary good first lady, either, with her migraines and all.
SP is almost surely delusional, and possibly bi-polar, and definitely narcissistic, and it obviously became apparent to the McCain people after they selected her. I am sure they tried to make the best of it after the deed was done, by trying to dictate SP’s every move. SP, having no true concept of herself as incompetent, undereducated, unethical, and thoroughly unqualified, thought she knew better than the professionals. She still does. She still thinks she knows better than everybody, unless they happen to agree with her delusions.
Sarah, dear, has it occured to you that so many people have a sick visceral reaction against you because they detect something in you that makes them have that reaction, and it is NOT a defect in them but in YOU?
#62 Teutonic maybe it should be “Starry Eyed Rebiblican Hyenas”. I think Hyenas are about the goofiest of animals.
This book should be reviewed by a panel of shrinks.
A book reviewer can’t possibly do justice to someone who is delusional and lives a fantasy life, and writes about somethings easily disproven.
I truly feel for Piper, who is still in the formative period of her life. The others are what they are. She is Sarahs prop and Sarahs darling.
Bristol is a baby sitter. Willow looks all too knowing and contemptuous, though pretty enough. Track? who knows. But ,Piper with her shirley temple curls, makeup, high heels, and caring for Trigg, seems destined to be rushing to adulthood at the age of what is she now, 8?
Pathetic.
Now the ex-governor Winky McQuittyCutty is going on the HillBilly Bus with her kids fakin’ it as though they are riding ON the bus instead of under it.
Thanks for the links, AKM. I looked at the Conservatives4Palin page for the first time, and much to my amusement, on the right panel there’s this ad:
Show Your Support
with a
Sarah Palin
Bobblehead
Bobblehead! How appropriate!
Noticed that e-mails were copied to Toad Palin. She didn’t learn lessons from her employment as Gov. Wouldn’t be surprised if she bcc’d Cole and others of her highschool clan
Did the snowmachine rider learn the ins and outs of making Presidential campaign decisions from a wise salmon?
http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gen/118788/original.jpg
I just love the fact that for all those months before ‘a quittin’ she sat pouring over the blogs obsessing, losing hair, powting, and throwing temper tantrums over her inability to get her way. She’s such a child.
correction: pouting
Regarding those analysts/pundits who are declaring that she may be a ‘viable’ candidate for 2012 and will give other contenders a ‘run for their money,’ I say, bring it on.
My guess is that the truly serious (ie not crazy) GOP presidential contenders will out SP with all the lies, the biggest of which will be the Trig story.
As noted in today’s Palingates, Romney may have the ammo to do such a thing. http://palingates.blogspot.com/2009/11/sarah-palin-calls-john-kerry-in-going.html
Let’s remember, politics can get really dirty.
Ok – here’s a doozy –
$’arah says, ” I don’t like to hear people complain; I am always the first to say, “Buck up or stay in the truck.” You have a choice about how to react to circumstances.” HA!!!! Trust me – you’ll like this read.
http://mediamatters.org/research/200911150006
I can hear Shannyn now – “Buck Up or Stay in the Truck – Buttercup!!”
“Buck up or stay in the truck.”
*boggle*
That doesn’t even make sense. Shouldn’t it be buck up or get off the truck?
she doesn’t like people to complain?
my gawd…she must hate herself.
It’s as if she hasn’t matured past high school.
Hey Palin….Buck the Hell up!
IM on mobile web today, so please excuse weird symbols that keep popping up in my posts.
Just read this on Scarah’s facebook: HaHa
Austin Hannah: Sarah, I’m a big fan and I just want you to know,
anyone who supports you has to be LITERALLY BRAIN DEAD.
Palingates has yanked it’s book page scans per a letter from Harper Collins.
“Buck up or stay in the truck.”
There is no space for anyone else to complain when the princess of prose never stops…………….lol
I have to scream. Reading HP articles that revisited some of Palin’s quirks, like not shaking hands with Oliver Stone and dissing Alec Baldwin for their political stances, while she was the VP nominee. How on earth can she be a viable leader of the country or world, when she doesn’t acknowledge people’s differences? (You don’t need to reply to this, I just needed to vent. TY)
I agree with the fears expressed by many about the possibility of her being
a candidate in 2012, and the danger that continued economic problems or,
god forbid, continued Mideast war, would push for ‘change’ from PO.
However, I take comfort from the idea that the Republican power structure
and big money would not let her win. McCain has to defend her or admit
he made such a colossally stupid decision. Bush-Cheney were needed by
the neo-cons, the war machinery, and were not going to lose, no matter
how people voted. I don’t think SP is useful in that way. She is good for
stirring things up, and keeping the country distracted from the ‘real’
business of the …yes…the ” military industrial complex,”
A weird comfort…and maybe totally paranoid. BUt I think most people knew
that these 4 years were going to be Herculan to accomplish anything in…
and McCain/SP were just fill-ins, let the Democrats cope, and then when
events have evolved, easy to ‘change’ to Repugs.
Trisha @ 32 has it right—the real shame here is McCain; still defending her, when he knows damn well how worthless she is. He just won’t admit how much he effed up!!
@60 akfishergirl Says: I have a very good friend who is about an hour from Rochester NY a friend of her’s invited her to attend the book signing next week… Oh BTW my friend was a McCain supporter until he chose Scarah… she voted Obama!!!

Thanks for sharing an uplifting story. Hope your friend goes, and reports back.
We always knew all along that SARAH… is her own worst enemy.
This book proves it 1000%. From the way that Sarah and Meg Simpleton handled their Press releases about ‘ Iconic images ‘ to any number of other issues.
That ‘ Iconic image ‘ debacle set the whole internet ablaze in a firestorm. That was like a little campground fire.
This ( Book ) is more on the scale of one of those California Wildfires that get started and then race across the countryside charring everything in it’s path and burns for weeks on end. ( and it won’t end when the Book Tour is over )
Meanwhile…..Sarah is standing there with HER little bucket of water on FaceBook thinking she can put out the flames.
{FlyinurEye might really make that picture interesting?}
Along with the popcorn…..Grab those long-handled forks and a bag of marshmallows. We are going to be here for awhile. Smores….. anyone..?
Interestedperson@77, I have thought the same thing, that maybe this was all planned out by the republicans- do they all really think this far ahead? I think so, especially because it seems they are all far better at campaigning and strategies and plotting than they are at actually running the country.
Bystander yes I lived with a pathological liar”, for many years and they do believe every word they say at least until confronted by the true facts,which it seems Palin will never admit she lied and made things up. MS palin stop makin things up live in your and our reality please.’
Trisha McCain will never admit the mistake he made because it would make him look like the fool he showed himself to be.palins continual makin things up puts her into a category I can’t even think of a name for.I have read some of the excerpts and especially the one about how the doctor told her the baby was dead was one of the worst of her lies No Doctor would talk like that. Not a one.Ms palin quit makin things up on your facebook page also. Admit your mistakes and go from there don’t try to blame everyone else for your mistakes.If you hadn’t put so many lies in your book no one would have to fact check it.
Silvermoon @78 -
As furious as I am about the monster that McCain has unleashed on the world and the horrible danger he put this country in by putting her one heartbeat away from the presidency, I think he’s currently caught in an unwinnable situation.
If he admits that she’s unqualified and crazy, he’s also admitting to doing what I described above and not performing the most critical vetting job in the nation. If he defends her when evidence keeps piling up that she is a pathalogical liar and completely unprepared for local office, no less the VP position, the entire world knows he’s lying. Either way he loses.
On a lighter note, I read this comment somewhere on Huffpo last night and thought it was hysterical. I don’t remember which post it was with but I did write it down to share with all of you mudpups today…
“who knew that Alaska was such an important whine producer, and all from sour grapes”
Palin claims she spoke with Presidents of other countries regarding the Sarkozy prank, so why didn’t she name them? LIAR, LIAR PANTS ON FIRE.
Palingates just got an e-mail from an attorney at Harper Collins to take down the three pages of scanned book due to a violation of the fair use doctrine. The comments are coming fast over there.
For some reason the link to the PG blog wouldn’t go through. Sorry.
trisha@70: not “like” she hasn’t matured since high school, she hasn’t! She’s so transparent it’s almost funny. It took Crazy five colleges to get a BA in journalism, and she “pities” Katie Couric. Why? Because she anchors the CBS evening news, she interviews world leaders, she reports from war zones and she’s a correspondent for “60 Minutes”. Gee, Scarah, could it be that when you sat down with Katie you were staring smack in the face at what a failure you are? Katie Couric is everything you ever wanted to be and are far too inadequate to even come close to being. You are a pathetic, 40+ year old high school sophomore.
But Wonkette still has pages up.
This is one of the best book reviews on Palin’s memoirs that I have read all day! I’ll read it one more time for my mental health, and go out and enjoy our wonderful blue skies today.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/beth-armogida/my-review-of-sarah-palins_b_351844.html
I read the email letter that Regina’s blog got from Harper Collins as well.
Doesn’t this just re-confirm that Sarah is ” obsessed ” about what is written in the blogs. She just can’t let it go. It’s the litle things. I could even picture her on the phone making the phone call to Harper Collins herself. Stomping her foot and pulling her hair out and saying.. ” You MUST do something about this… NOW!”
It’s not like this is a new phenomenon. Remember her telling Schmidt that he HAD TO do something about Todd’s AIP story that was out there.
Schmidt basically told her to… ” Sit down and shut up “.
She won’t take her own advice.
And with this National Book Tour starting in 2 days…. you would think Harper Collins might be focused on THAT..? Apparently not. You know Sarah called them.
My God. Talk about a ‘fluff’ piece…

Is she just oblivious to facts or is she really this stupid???

Yes.
Re: the letter from Harper Collins as follows:
“I act as legal counsel to HarperCollins Publishers. I have just learned that you have posted a substantial excerpt from our as yet unpublished book, Going Rogue, by Sarah Palin, on your web site. We view your posting of this excerpt as an infringement of our and Governor Palin’s exclusive rights under copyright. Accordingly, we demand that you remove it from your web site. “
Harper Collins is correct in protecting its asset. Don’t blame the attorney for doing his job (which includes discovering unlawful usage). Other sites and blogs containing excerpts and discussions does not necessarily indicate unlawful use or even that Harper Collins is or is not going after the blog owners. They have a right to go after, or ignore, whomever they wish. And they may have given express permission to other bloggers, ie, Drudge, to use excerpts.
But let’s be clear about something: the full-page copying and online publishing of an unpublished book will expose folks to legal claims. That includes the folks some of us might consider as friendlies.
My suggestion is that palingates take certain parts (not whole-scale copying of entire pages) and provide stinging commentary about the contents therein; that, my friends, is fair use in action. Rip Palin a new one if you believe the facts are phony or false. But don’t just publish what has not yet been released for public purchase.
Wonkette actually posted more pages a couple of minutes ago. http://wonkette.com/412207/dirty-going-rogue-photos-the-part-where-track-gives-up-chewin-but-not-cussin
Copy ‘em while they’re hot.
One other thing about Harper Collins’ letter: the attorney misidentifies Palin.
In my less than humble opinion, by quitting mid-term and under false pretenses, Palin has waived any right she has to be called “Governor.”
Polly @ #90
I loved that review! Thanks for the link. It’s the best review yet. I laughed so hard at the part where she says that when Toad told her he wanted to secede from the union that she thought he was asking for a divorce. Too funny, also.
from the excerpts I’ve read, not only is this fluff, but WHAT THE HELL IS SHE TALKING ABOUT??!!!…nothing makes any sense! is this proof that she’s having a breakdown?
Harper Collins is certainly within their rights to bring as much traffic to a blog as they can. The motive for boosting the reader count at palingates is unclear. It’s quite natural that themudflats might not get attention from Harper Collins.
No, Lainey. But it does prove that she’s pretty freakin’ stupid and that the truth means nothing to her if dollars and payback are involved.
I need some puppy praise because I actually got some work done today instead of living on the blogs like I did yesterday… anyway, have enjoyed reading excerpts here and there… it won’t be long until someone uploads the entire sermon for us. Ordered Going Rouge today (during a break from work) and am looking forward to spending a cozy evening with that. Anyway, wanted to check in, will come back later, family insists on being fed… never did like them
Go Mud Puppies!!!! Kudos to AKM and Shannyn!
@pvazwindy
I just left a message on Facebook that says “some people need to get a grip and start thinking for themselves!!!”. I bet you a $3 bill, that they don’t get that I’m talking to them. It”s like dumb and dumber. Thank God only 20% believe anything coming from her.
Lainey, she thinks she is presidential material. Excuse me while I guffaw.
Lainey, she thinks she is presidential material. Excuse me while I guffaw
what she thinks about her credentials IS pretty stupid! I know it’s all about the money with her, and that doesn’t worry me in the least, but to think she can frenzy up the votes with a vat of kool-aid…THAT worries me! The strategy here is to convince her base that Jesus doesn’t want her for POTUS…which is more than likely the truth!
By blaming the McCain campaign for her own shortcomings, Palin guarantees no serious Repubs will ever work with her again. She’s an ungrateful witch.
Notice in the clip with Walters, Walters asked Willow what she thought if her mother ran for president. Willow’s eyes immediately darted to look at Palin and with a sheppish smile while she answered ‘it would be cool’. Someone knows something!
There was no fact checking, as confirmed by the former McCain aides.
Imagine publishing the absurd statement that Palin did the interview with Couric out of pity because Lynn Jennings said Couric had “low self esteem”, without calling Jennings. Clearly the publisher is as irresponsible as the “author”. Since this is a fantasy and fiction, no fact checking required.
I would think that someone who attended even one journalism class would know that if you publish something you need to have researched it to be certain that it’s the truth. The problem with Palin is that she seems to have skipped any class that a journalism student would have taken and she proves that she doesn’t think the rest of the world will notice if she makes things up. We’re just supposed to believe everything she says without fact checking. What a nitwit.
And she’s still whining because they wouldn’t let her go off on a tangent about Rev. Wright. Had she done so, it’s likely we would have seen even more footage of her witch doctor blessing her and praying for her. While Rev. Wright was disturbing, the footage of Sarah, up close and personal in her Wasilla church was even worse.
I’m still amazed at her reaction to Katie Couric. Yes, Sarah, she probably asked you the same question 12 times because you didn’t give an answer that actually was an answer. That’s the usual reason reporters ask the same questions more than once. But then, if she really had gotten anything out of that journalism degree other than a piece of paper, she would know that.
Isn’t it sad that she is once again a distraction for the country when we really need to focus our attention on the economy and the two wars where our brave military men and women are.
Sarah, please, just go home and stay there. Find a new hobby – one that you can do without the rest of the world having to see you or hear from you. And for Pete’s sake, put those kids in school and leave them there.
all of this “sarah is a feminist” stuff and “that special place in he11″ comment she made…
someone who may know more than me…has sarah EVER supported a woman in politics?
just wondering…
I made a reference to Sarah’s” Ghostwriters Book” earlier as starting a huge wildfire. And now that the Harper Collins Lawyers have weighed in they just put a whole tanker-load of gasoline on the flames.
Regina’s blog was able to get the word out (about HC email) to both Wonkette and Andrew Sullivans blog and both have linked back to the Site/blog.
The Live Feedjit is rolling so FAST you can barely keep up. It’s so funny!!… and fun to watch. It’s like a movie with the rolling credits at the end of it. Huge numbers of people coming from Andrew Sullivan.
Job well done Harper Collins….for putting that gasoline on that fire.
Keep fanning those flames. I hope the server can handle the traffic…?
Here’s a copy of what I posted on Palingates not too long ago:
* ** *
Oh nuts, due to my lack of experience posting here, I am not going to be able to do all the links to prove my point, but just google “Fair Use” and “copyright law” and you will find that people have the right to use portions of people’s written copyrighted work for the purposes of criticism, which is exactly what is being done here. What was posted was NOT a substantial portion of the work, and it WAS legitimately criticized. This totally falls under Fair Use laws, and the HarperCollins lawyer knows that (if he really was who he says he was…) He is just trying to intimidate people into doing what he wants them to do. As a musician I am a big champion of copyright law and have my own opinions about Fair Use (generally, I think it is too lax), but even I cannot see how your putting a couple of pages of her book online, with relevant accompanying criticism of it, is not Fair Use under current copyright law.

@113
I think her family knows she is going to quit after the book tour and she gets her money.
Show me the money…
She’s doesn’t want to do any of this anymore. It is too much work.
Is he really a lawyer….or just playing one on the Innertubes?
The most disturbing phenomenon is how conservatives are flat out lying, saying this is a great literary piece that makes deep political statements! They just know Palin has idiot followers who they need for votes, so they flat out lie about her just like every other topic they discuss.
Oh, and Sarah-maybe Steve told you to “stick to the script” because you couldn’t say anything intelligent or factual on your own. Also, when you bash the “bloggers” what do you call using Facebook to make political statements? You’re an insecure joke of an ex-govenor, and the sooner you stop wasting media resources on your pathetic existence, the better this country will be.
And do you and your reich truly believe you had more experience (after 5 colleges and short stints in government) than Obama? He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, after he attained a BS in political science from Columbia, then practiced Civil Rights Law and taught Constitutional Law, before becoming IL state senator for 8 years, then US senator, before his presidential run. You had the nerve to claim he was merely a community organizer and that you had more “executive experience”-from what? watching Putin rear his head? You have no credibility with your lame (duck) experience of breaking laws, wasting resources, and leaving AK in a heap of financial ruin! So don’t even think of ruining our entire country with your craziness.
That same Harper Collins email has mysteriously appeared in Celtic Diva’s email box as well. You can visit her site to see her response…. it’s good.
How convenient that Sarah and her ” friends ” ( at HC ) are going after just certain people with her high school vengeance/vendetta. We have seen THIS before. Attack the messenger. And…What about the 1st Amendment she is always referring to..?
Do as I say… not as ‘ I ‘ do.
I’ve been reading all the comments and links (big thank you all) and don’t know where to post this…
Palin is beginning her spook tour in Grand Rapids. I, along with many others take offense to Palin using Michigan for obvious reasons (Track banned to Portage, and majority was was glad the McPalin campaign didn’t come back). I am P.O.’d that she is now using those same reasons for starting her tour here. And people are sucking up to it. I am beyond upset.
Michigan needs to send a message at the start of this tour to counter-act her supporters. It isn’t just her, it is Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Cheney the whole fecking (thanks Irishgirl) thing. She needs to be stomped instead of ignored by the majority.
I read 2 MI sites today that said ignore her and the people that will be bussed in to support her. The comments were “take the high road” “Don’t stoop to that level”. She is not going away, she is not sinking herself anymore than Baby Bush did because America is impatient. We had a big heads up on his incompetence, poor me status….. It may not end up her candidacy but she is propelling a dangerous agenda.
I’m mad that people bitch and do nothing to help change things. I have a call out to a guy that supposedly has 4 groups meeting in GR. MSU Dems isn’t protesting, they have enough on their hands. I’m just me and mad.
Pat, Washington @115
I would think that someone who attended even one journalism class would know that if you publish something you need to have researched it to be certain that it’s the truth
~~~~~~~~
Makes me wonder if there will be lawsuits filed after the book is officially released. Acording to everything I’ve read in the last few days, there are sooo many lies in this piece of stink that I’m betting at least some of the people she’s trashed will have court-worthy evidence that she lied. Could make for some interesting legal action against her AND the publisher!
Not sure if this is true or not but it was posted on the Gates blog.
The comment said that sarah was going to be on the ” Eddie Burke Show ” in about 25 minutes.
I hope some Alaskans can listen in and give us details about the ” Foot in Mouth Disease ” going on. Something about the show called ” A Sunday conversation with Eddie Burke”…. ( The link to Shannyn’s KBYR would work..Right?)
Does this mean Sarah has officially ‘ adopted ‘ the little Tyke?
Good roundup of the fact-checkers, AKM.
There are those who think Palin as a 2012 candidate is a good strategy for the Dems and Obama’s reelection……Maybe so, but it’s a horrible prospect for the country if this low-brow, polarizing liar has continued influence on the national debate. She’s a gutter fighter and that’s where she takes the debate.
Palin has already done substantial damage to civil discourse in this country. We don’t need her poisonous resonance frequency permeating our air waves and culture for another three years!
Work relentlessly to expose this shallow and narcissistic fraud…..
Pat, Wash. @115
I am not so sure I believe that S’arah has a journalism degree. I cannot believe any college would give a certificate that states their name as having educated her. So much of what she states turns out not to be true, I have come to the realization that anything she says must be made up, until proven to be true.
And yes I believe both Palin and HC could have law suits on their hands. Other people want easy money too S’arah. Oh well, easy come, easy go right?
As per my comment about Eddie Burke having Sarah on tonight. It looks confirmed with a Google search.
—————
The ad says he will interview her Monday… but then how could it be called
” Sunday” Night Conversation?
————-
Our guest is http//www.kbyr.com KBYR 700AMs Eddie Burke. Eddie Burke is Alaskas 1 Talk Radio Host and has known Sarah Palin for many years. Eddie Burke will be interviewing Sarah Palin on his show on Monday the day before GOING ROGUE comes out. Come liste
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Pro-Sarah/2009/11/16/SUNDAY-NIGHT-CONVERSATION
honestyinGov, that would make sense, go on Burke after attacking AK blogs, sounds just like Scarah line of defense. See, I’m from out of state and I can peg her……..
Honesty, bet she’s trying to salvage what she can of her AK capitol…..she’s going to crash and burn. AK will be all she has left, she’s going back to ground zero. She must have all her hounds out, seeking help for damage control.
Hopefully it’s gasps for air as the titantic sinks, sorry! that was injustice to the movie and the people who actually died. She’s more like one of the survivors who pushed people over to get to a life boat.
Please remind me once again who is for America’s freedoms, such as freedom of the press, freedom of speech? ‘Cause right now, Mrs. Palin, it seems like you are .. not so much for it. And if you are not for it, you’re against it.
A lawyer claiming to represent your book publisher is threatening at least two AK bloggers re: their posting of pages of a published book online.
Those bloggers most graciously obliged and removed the actual content.
So, are you for freedom of speech, or not? Do you support the Constitution of the US, or not?
If Eddie is going to have Sarah on… listeners should try to call in.
( somebody please try to get through)
Try to act stupid to get by Eddies censors and ask your questions.
OR… just tell them President Sarkozy is calling to congratulate her on her book release. It worked last time.
Sarah will be on Eddie’s show tomorrow, Monday the 16th. Tonight he is on talking with one of Sarah’s fans who does a blog of “sarah palin news” named April something or other.
One more irony…..
Palin claims the Associated Press and other media “fact checking” her lies have a biased agenda against her…..and so she DIRECTS her Facebook readers for a non-biased view on her lies to the website, Conservatives for Palin……
Yeppers….you can get a completely impartial and non-biased discussion of her lies from her adoring fan site.
She’s so FOS….
Just left Palingates. It is amazing – the traffic is going nuts! Everybody is going there! They had Feedjit from Khazakstan for pete’s sake!!
Oh, the Internetz is blazing tonight!!
Update # 2 from Andrew Sullivan.
If it wasn’t enough that he linked back to Regina’s blog ( concerning the Harpers Collins email letter ) and made the traffic there just go ” NUTS”… he has posted another post as well to Sarah. He is mocking her for Her saying on FaceBook that the AP Lied about what she wrote. He then offers her an open challenge.
“And by the way, governor Palin, since you clearly read this blog: which of the 32 lies we have already documented can you rebut? We’d be delighted to give you a platform to clear up any factual inaccuracies or misunderstandings that we might have unwittingly published by merely relying on the public record. Presumably, you have more facts at your disposal that could disprove these odd untruths. Any time you want to make your case, we will happily publish your response in full with no edits so you can explain the vast discrepancy between observed reality and your version of it.”
http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/11/an-open-dish-challenge-to-palin.html
I just had an epiphany! Maybe I am slow and others have already figured this out. I was trying to get it around my brain why Sarah would trash McCain’s people as much as the media and the liberals-at least what I’ve read so far. Then it came to me. She wants to distant herself from the establishment-including the Republican machine-as much as possible. She is going after the people who feel disenfanchised from each party. I wouldn’t be surprised if she tried to start a third party. Fine. Good luck! Totally disallusional!
Thanks AKM for having the best links about you-know-who!
Dig two graves, Sarah…..
From Andrew Halcro’s latest post:
“November 16, 2009: On Friday after they received an advance copy of Sarah Palin’s new book, the Associated Press called me to get a response from the two hundred plus words that Alaska’s former 1/2 term governor dedicated to me.
My favorite passage as read to me by Rachel D’Oro at the AP was when Palin referred to me as an “effete chap.”
An effete chap? Who am I, Nick Carraway in the Great Gatsby?
And by the way, when did Palin start using 17th century Latin in her dialogue?”
(snip)
“Obviously she never learned the timely Confucius warning:
“Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.”
Beginning Monday…the people whom Palin has attacked in her book, will start reaching for their own shovels.”
http://www.andrewhalcro.com/monday_comment_digging_two_graves
I’m confused…I thought Rick Rydell said he is rated #1 and now Eddie Burke says he is? Rick is even being supportive of Sarah in more recent times, where originally he was not!
Halcro hasn’t even read the book (only had it read to him) and one of his first thoughts is libel. Wow. You know, there are some people, that have a lot more money than Palin, who can take a person to court for libel.
I would love it if we could see the unedited interviews with Katie Couric.
Might boost their ratings now that the book is out.
She referred to him as an “effete chap” (head-banging WTF – who uses such Anglophilian language these days while clutching her hanky and looking for the fainting couch?) which I believe can be interpreted as “code” for teh Gay as a slur on his character.
I call what Sarah does the SARAH VIRUS.
I’m afraid Oprah was never innoculated and will succumb to the dread Virus.
