When she quotes with shock and disgust the statistic that 90 percent of women terminate their pregnancies after a positive result from amnio, she's got it backwards. The only reason for having the test is that for the option of terminating your pregnancy if the fetus has Down syndrome or spinal bifida. So in reality, one hundred percent of the women who undergo amnio (including SP) go in expecting to have an abortion if the results are bad and ten percent end up changing their minds.

Pro-life women don't have the test. I've known several who said their doctors offered it and they said no. They didn't want to risk a miscarriage and they all said they'd love whatever they got.

I also can't help wondering if she'd gotten a negative result from the amnio, would disappointing Rick Perry and having a child born outside of Alaska be as important?

The birth story is so bizarre to me. I don't get how someone can have their water break at 5 weeks premature, claim to be so concerned for the welfare of her baby but then INSIST on giving her speech HOURS later.
My understanding is that once the water breaks, you have exactly 24 hours until that kid has to come out. With it occuring five weeks premature with a high risk baby it's even more imperative to seek medical attention. The mothers will often be given steroid shots to help mature the lungs faster before they are born. It absolutely boggles the mind that any medical professional would tell her that it was fine to wait to give her speech (what 10 hours later) then board a plane to travel several thousand miles. I simply don't believe it. Either Sarah went AMA and did so to risk the life of her child at the expense of her career OR her pregnancy was total BS.

Either way this little pregnancy story makes her look very bad.

Palin said she drove herself to a "geneticist" for her amniocentesis. As I recall it is very dangerous for a woman to drive herself after having amnio because of possible miscarriage and other complications. It seems that the closest clinic to Palin would have been in Anchorage--a hefty drive away from Wasilla.

and I wonder if they keep records on their procedures.

"Decided to get amniocentesis so she could be prepared in case. Went to genetecist alone. Snuck in the back door and used her maiden name."

Probably did not get away with lying about her name. Even in a small town where everybody knows pretty much everybody phisicians and hospitals require a photo id when filling out paper for a new patient, and usually will xerox or scan the id to have in the record. Among other things it helps to have a photo id to avoid insurance fraud. (Like me allowing a friend to use my name so they are under my insurance. 'Course it messes up my medical record if I do that, and I can go to jail.)
Unless, Sarah was not a new patient and had seen the prenatal geneticist under her maiden name on a previous visit.

Which ever way it went she just admitted to a lie. And proved she is a sneak.

Bleah...
I do not care about SP's kids in relation to SP herself except to feel deeply sorry for them. I do think ,IF her wild-ride story is even half way true , she showed almost criminally poor judgement.
That poor judgement in relation to state business became more and more obvious as time went on as we all saw.

While her God may forgive her anything I don't.
( though that stupid letter by-God might get her more than pants-on-fire...)

If she were a middle aged guy with a potgut and thinning grey hair ... we would have managed to nail her in the beginning... at Troopergate.
Period.
Any folks from Outside ask me about the blathering bimbo I tell em to cover her pic with any example of the description above and list her actions from 1st budget slashing Troopergate forward...
and most of em become disguted...
Imagine that...

Sarah: Don't ya think it is a "mortal sin" to have sex and get pregnant at an advanced age when you know the baby you conceive has a high chance of being un-healthy?

52 Rainkiss Says:
November 19th, 2009 at 7:39 AM
"Something with real accomplishments she can be proud of… Something showing experience at something other than campaigning?
Is it just me?"

Well she showed her new knowledge today, you can tell she has been studing hard. She know's the president of Iraq and the percent of Iraq's oil imports.

Asked about Iran's nuclear capacity and Holocost denial, Sarah talked about sanctions on Iraq.

Oops.
