Open Thread – Something ELSE!

18 11 2009

Well, I think I’m blogged out for today. I’m up to page 153 in the torturous, seemingly endless slog through the steaming pile of delusion that is Sarah Palin’s memoir.

I thought everyone would appreciate it if I put up an open thread that has nothing to do with Sarah Palin or politics, or even Alaska! So enjoy this beautiful satin bower bird from Snoskred, our Mudflats Forum Master who lives in Australia. It takes a global village!

bowerbird

The Satin Bowerbird collects blue things to attract the female to his nest – from wikipedia -

Males build specialized stick structures, called bowers, which they decorate with blue, yellow, and shiny objects if these are available, including berries, flowers, and even ballpoint pens, drinking straws and other discarded plastic items. As the males mature they use more blue objects than other colours.

Snoskred also wishes me to pass on her apologies to anyone who may have found themselves booted from the chat not too long after Oprah aired in Alaska yesterday. It wasn’t anything personal, she even managed to kick herself out of the chat!

As I’ve been reading all of the book ’stuff’ that’s come out the last couple of days, I’ve been reminded of a list of symptoms that someone sent me regarding a mutual acquaintance. It’s a list of adult symptoms of ‘RAD’ or ‘Reactive Attachment Disorder’, usually associated with children but often continuing into adulthood.

    Here’s just a sampling:

    Unreasonable or inappropriate anger
    Intolerant of rules and authority
    Lack of empathy or remorse
Views others as untrustworthy and unreliable
    Feelings of entitlement or arrogance
    Grandiose or unrealistic fantasies
    Feels underappreciated
Oversensitive to rejection, easily gives in to jealousy
Unable to understand the concept of altruism

    May Also Include
    Socially inappropriate behavior
    Impulsive
    Manipulative
Darkness behind the eyes when angered
Children with RAD may become adults diagnosed with sociopathic, narcissistic, antisocial, or borderline disorder

    Even scarier part:
“Until someone breaks the chain, attachment problems are handed down through the generations. An insecurely attached adult, as a parent, may be unable to form the necessary strong attachment to his, or her, children, leaving the child without the resources for healthy emotional development, predisposing the child to a life of similar difficulties.”

Yes, and our dear idiot “real American” Sarah wants to be Chief of Staff so she can “appoint” people who will make a real difference to our economy, as told to People Magazine. Huh? Appoint people?

    Her stupidity knows no bounds.

After reading exerpts from her book, I feel like I have seen the inside a mad woman’s head.

Not Mad like angry (she is angry) but I’m talking about manipulative, delusional, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest, nutso, wacko, sociopathic, narcissistic….stark raving MAD.

Zazzle is removing the Psalm 109 products and has made a statement that concludes:
Zazzle will continue to allow and encourage the submission of products that express disapproval or approval of the President’s policies and actions, but Zazzle will not permit products that may be interpreted to suggest violence toward the President.

The pics show but when you click on a product, it comes up as product not found. They haven’t deleted the page showing the products which they should.

    Irishgirl——

So sorry about the cheating French. I witnessed them doing the cheat thing in Endurance Riding–called “cutting trail” –by taking a shortcut to the win.

Handball, cutting trail, anything for the win …except honor!
