But going deeper into Afghanistan is going to be the undoing of Obama and the Democratic Party, and Begich ought to standing up to the President on this issue. We're $12 trillion in the hole, our healthcare system is a mess, our children isn't learning, unemployment is over 10%, and we're going to ratchet up a war in a country on the other side of the globe that has made a fool of every imperial power that has ever tried to mess with it? I'm a Vietnam vet with a very bad feeling about Afghanistan. This is not going to have a happy ending, and when we retreat in shame and defeat we're all going to be wondering how we could have been so stupid.
